Excellent location, restaurant and stay
We received an upgrade and it was wonderful. Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
Stay here!
Stop scrolling and stay here. Luxury at its finest. The breakfast was extraordinary, the staff so helpful and friendly, the sheets were sublime and then you have a secret garden path leading you to the temples.
The ease of walking into the Valley of the Temples is not to be dismissed. The gardens around the hotel and the restaurants were very peaceful too.
Fabulous setting, breakfast was exceptional and also the lunch menu. Staff very helpful and professional would definitely stay there again.
The place to be in Agrigento
Lovely upscale small hotel where staff was friendly and did everything to make you feel comfortable. If you’re staying in Agrigento, you’re coming to see the Valley of the Temples. This is the only hotel in the Valley itself, a 5-10 minute walk to the temples, and to the excellent archaeological museum. Our junior suite was spacious, clean, comfortable and came with its own several hundred year old olive tree. Also, the price was reasonable but that may be in the off season
A breath taking location and beautiful hotel
This place is truly remarkable in the middle of the Valley of the Temples near Agrigento. The view from our window was so unique that it will always stay impressed in my memory.
Great. Food, views, room was clean, comfortable and pleasant. Receptionist and staff were wonderful.
Excellent service and Hotel
The Hotel is very Beautiful plus its views . Easy to find . Excellent efficient staff and service
Very good hotel ❤️
To die for !
Exquisitely stunning! The definition of luxury boutique hotel
-
A wonderful hotel for a special occasion!
This place is a luxury resort - small, beautiful, quiet - a real treat!
A magical experience to stay in the Villa Athena resort right on the edge of the Valley of the temples. We could buy our tickets at the desk and enter the archeological site through a private entrance. Later we sat on the terrace outside our room and watched as the day turned to night and temple became illuminated. Pool and landscaping were lovely and so were the rooms. Staff were very gracious and helpful and dinner was very good. Breakfast comes with a tray of breads and cakes and you can order eggs etc- very elaborate breakfast. All in all lived up to 5 star experience.
An extraordinary experience
This is a truly extraordinary hotel with superior service and amenities and blessed with one of the most breathtaking scenic backdrops I have encountered anywhere in the world. Dinner on the outdoor terrace with the 5th century Temple of Concordia in front of you is an unforgettable experience.
Amazing
The view of The Temples was amazing! We booked a patio room that faced the Temples. The staff is wonderful. The messages e had were amazing. Make sure you have the dinner in the herb garden over looking the Temples, but don’t eat the day before this meal. Easy access with a private gate to the Archaeological park and temples was a plus. Make sure you book a guide. The hotel can book one for you. The dinner we had at the dining time was not very good. We had lobster and pasta it was a miss.
The Valle dei Templi experience is unique and leaves you inspired and relaxed
Loved Villa Athena! Only problem was that we didn’t stay long enough!
Such a lovely hotel and access to the archeological sites was fantastic. Great people, wonderful breakfast and tea, lovely pool and every room seems to have a great view plus lovely lovely staff.
Pristine Property and exceptional staff!
amazing view and location right besides the valley of the temples
Elegant hotel in Agrigento
The staff is wonderful. Our room was relatively small but very well designed. The bathroom was very nice. The location is perfect for touring the Valley of the Temples. Some rooms face the Temples, our room # was 304, our view was not beautiful, oh well!
Absolutely amazing property with direct access to the valley of the temples. Awesome bbq dinner with Giovanni and pasquale with the temple of concordia in the background. Great food and great entertainment.
Even if the place was awful, the view to the Temple would be worth it BUT it was a fabulous place to be
A comfortable resort hotel in a stunning setting. Nice pool, spa services, very clean. The food in the three eateries was underwhelming but the service was great. The best part is seeing an Ancient Greek temple from my bed. The nearby archeological park is spectacular, both for the ancient ruins and the surrounding landscape.
This hotel was one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. I can’t rate it highly enough. Firstly, it’s stunningly beautiful with gorgeous gardens and an incredible view of the temple of Corinthia. They have thought of everything you could need in the rooms. The pool is a perfect temperature. We did the communal table bbq dinner which was incredible value and so fun to meet other travellers. And the breakfast on the terrace is just so lovely.
This property is unbeatable for access to the Valley of the Temples. And the facilities and staff are impeccable. We joined the barbecue and it was super enjoyable but way too much food and especially too much meat. The food is a bit expensive as well. We loved the stay and the details really matter here … as well as the access to the temples.
Beautiful place and great service
Absolutely stunning hotel with top level service. This hotel is definitely worth a stay when visiting the area. The convenient path to the valley of the temples from the hotel was awesome and the garden restaurant very special.
Great
Fast but sweet visit
We only had one fast night in this beautiful villa due to a change in our itinerary caused by weather, but we would have loved to stay longer! What a relaxing & truly 5 star hotel. We arrived very late at night & they kept their restaurant open late for us so we could dine. I wish we’d had time to fully take advantage of their amazing location & facilities…we’ll just have to go back!
Easy access to Valley of Temples
Fantastic location!
None
Incredible view of Temples, service, food and grounds. Nice pool.
Great Place
I stayed in a Temple view room which was amazing. The food at this resort is top notch. It is located outside of the city of Agrigento in the archeological park, so it is quiet but you have to either have a rental car or take a taxi to where you need to go. I would stay here again and recommend it highly.
Outstanding hotel
We had a wonderful stay at the Villa Athena. We booked the temple view room (definitely worth it, the view was unbelievable) and had dinner on the terrace. You will not find a better hotel in Agrigento. Was the highlight of our trip to Sicily.
Serene Retreat in Valley of the Temples
Villa Athena is a magical place right at the garden gate of the Valley of the Temples. Service and staff were very personal and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the view of the temples amazing, especially at night. Tickets to the Valley are available at the hotel and you can enter from a private gate. Overall I found Villa Athena to be a serene retreat from the crowds of Sicily. It is quite expensive, but if you have the opportunity, it’s a wonderful choice.
Love this place
Nothing to say, but excellence.
The hotel has the most amazing views of the Valley of the temples and easy access to it. Beautiful and great out door dinning experience with beautiful music and an incredible view The food could improve, breakfast was outstanding
Beautiful hotel located right next to the ruins and even had its own private entrance to visit the site. Only stayed one night and wish we stayed more
Excellent location inside the park
Incredible location with private access to the Valley of the Temples. Unforgettable view of Temple Concordia. They excel at Maluku feel welcome. And a lovely swimming pool area!
Beautiful and fantastic location
Place was lovely. You need to take hot shower at night or early because they run out of hot water. Happened both days.
Really excellent hotel in all respects. Porter comes to meet car and take baggage. Check in staff really friendly and helpful and show to room in person- in fact all staff were the same. We had small garden suite with shady garden area and superb room. Super comfortable bed and lovely strong shower. Fantastic roof terrace for lunch/dinner overlooking Valley of Temples - unbelievable views especially when lit up at night. Food is gourmet standard and even breakfast is cooked to order rather than buffet - great! Lovely pool and gardens too. In fact I have to say this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in which is saying a lot. Will be recommending to all my friends and family and hope to return one day.
Nice Hotel overlooking the valley of the temples.
If you are going to Agrigento and The Valley of the Temples this is the place to stay. . Dinner on their patio is an incredible experience. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Plus there is plenty of car parking.
If you are going to Agrigento and The Valley of the Temples this is the place to stay. Get a guide to take you thru the park and then enjoy the hotel. Dinner on their patio is an incredible experience.
Perfect place to stay and dine.
Our stay at Villa Athena was amazing. The view of Concordia from our room was breathtaking. The staff was professional, thoughtful and always doing little things to make our stay special. We took advantage of the experiences that the hotel offered. We had a cooking class and had a picnic at Athena Farms. The spa was nice and the massage heavenly. Each meal in the terrace was delicious. It was a respite in the middle of our trip. We will cherish the memories made at Villa Athena.
Beautiful property with their own access to the Valle di Templi park. All the staff were helpful and friendly
While older and could benefit from a modern upgrade…this property enjoys a unique location. It was a very enjoyable stay. A 3 star facility with a 5 star location…
Front doorman: he just ignored us when we were carrying our backpacks along with other bags from the car. We ended up carrying our bags to the room ourselves since no one offered to help, not even from the front desk. Front desk girl and lady: no greetings, seemed a bit indifferent/cold about us checking-in--we didn't feel welcomed at all. We booked a deluxe room (supposedly big enough for up to three guests accordingly to the booking site) with a nice view of the Valley of the Temples to celebrate our milestone wedding anniversary; however, we were given a smaller room big enough only for two without a view. Yet there was no explanations as if we would not know the difference. I understand that hotels sometimes over-book rooms, and rooms have to be shuffled. We didn't bring this matter up with the front desk since it was just for one night stay. Nonetheless, it left us with a bad impression of the hotel. If the hotel claims to be five stars, the service provided at the property should also be at that caliber; unfortunately it wasn't. Pros: another front desk man who was very friendly. And the cleaning staff does an excellent job--the whole property is very clean.
Best hotel of my trip!
Very clean and luxurious hotel. Staff was very helpful. Best hotel in Agrigento for access to the Valley of the Temples.
The location is far and away the best if your reason to be in Agrigento is to see the Valle dei Templi and Museo Archeologico. Everything about our stay was great. The staff is informative and helpful. They arranged a good private guide for our visit to the Valle.
Great service, food, facilities. View of ruins was exceptional and easy to access from the hotel.
5 stars! Wow great grounds and hotel . Elevator didn’t work but that’s about the only flaw at the time .
Great location to see the Valley of the Temples. Staff was terrific!
The best place to stay!! Super clean modern rooms. Location unbeatable! Lorenzo is an amazing host! I highly recommend this place. For sure you are going to enjoy your stay!
Must stay!
Wonderful stay! Great service. Room was large and comfortable. Bathroom was clean, modern, and great shower with view of the temple. Would stay again!
Within walking distance of the Valley of the Temples. It was wonderful
Amazing property
Absolutely extraordinary!
The walking distance to the Temples and the great dining room, bar and large room
Amazing
Beautiful hotel inside the Temples park. Best way to experience the temples. It feels like you are the only one there and you can tour them during the day or st night. Amazing.
A really special property located right near the Temples. The property is quiet and beautifully maintained - ist like staying in someone’s classy villa. Not a lot of rooms so most of the property is yours - never fighting for a table or area to relax. Not really walkable to anything other than the Temples which you access through a private gate only for hotel guests. They may have a shuttle in the peak season but I would check. The restaurant has amazing breakfast and the dinner is five stars. If you stay here you will probably need a car to see the Agrigento historic center or other areas in the region. The staff is excellent and everyone is helpful and does their best. Great check in and check out process and front desk is very helpful with information. The spa services were great and while it was winter the pool was nice with an amazing view of the Temple. We had junior suite and it was a great size room with a great layout. The gym was pretty basic but gets the job done and super clean.
It was amazing to stay in a hotel where the view from our room was the Temple of Concordia. We were able to see the entire park from common areas. And could walk from the hotel to the park. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Extra amenities made the stay feel indulgent. We enjoyed our two days here immensely.
Our stay at Villa Athena and visit to the Valley of the Temples was a highlight of our 6 week Italian vacation. Highly recommend staying here even if it stretches your budget! Convenient parking, entrance to the Valley thru a private gate and exemplary service, grounds and rooms all contribute to an experience you won’t forget. Also recommend choosing the breakfast- it in itself is an experience you won’t forget. I have stayed in 5 star hotels in other countries and have not experienced a better stay anywhere!
I loved this hotel and suggest at least one stay.
One of the nicest properties visited during our extended stay in Italy. Our "Deluxe" level room was very nice and quite clean. The room (on ground level) had a patio with furniture located outside the entry. Still warm enough in late October for breakfast and dinner outside, with a view of the ruins. We had dinner one evening onsite, which was good. Breakfast buffet was consistent with expectations for a property of this caliber. Very nice pool but unheated, so didn't take advantage of it. Free parking. Easy to locate hotel. A principal benefit of hotel is the access to the Archeological Park - you buy a ticket at the hotel and there is a walking path from the hotel parking lot into the Park. Also, the archeological museum is within a short walk down the main road. Had dinner one of our 2 nights offsite and explored the town the next afternoon, both a very short drive away. Highly recommended.
Unique location, beautiful grounds, great view, excellent service
Luxury at its finest.
This is the epitome of luxury. Beautiful view, wonderful food, nice spa, exemplary service. There was a mixup with our breakfast and we were not charged. Then at check out the manager came to apologize again and gave us a lovely take home gift. This was beyond necessary and we really appreciated their dedication to going above and beyond. Highly, highly recommend this LUXURY hotel.
this is one of the best country hotels we stayed at. beautiful and luxury. Definitely worth to try the suites.
Besides the fact that this hotel is near the temples there is nothing else special about it .
Excellent staff and wonderful facilities, Everything one would expect of a five star hotel,
Memorable stay!
Lovely hotel with wonderful restaurants and access to Valley of Temples. The room was comfortable and the service top notch. A very memorable stay for two nights.
Villa athena is a superb hotel! The staff is very kind and very helpful. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are wonderful. Spectacular view of the temples!
Great location with amazing views of the ruins. Friendly personnel and delicious food. We had the privilege to share a barbecue in the hotel garden with other guest and it was an espectacular event. Fantastic 2 nights.
Spectacular
Amazing hotel. Excellent view. Great food. Hot in July, A/C in room 103 was weak but they offered to move us. They have a private entrance to visit the ruins. We’ll worth it. I’m only sorry we just planned one night. Should have been three.
Nice hotel to go to Temples. Beautiful grounds and views. With heat advisories everyday during our visit they should have fans in restaurants and common areas and offered free water for guests. Food overpriced.
Run down
This is a beautiful hotel, that was once a villa. It still has the original tiles and has real charm. Room are beautifully decorated. Lots of nice touches like giving you pastries as a treat. The staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful. The pool is great. The location is remarkable -- you look up and see the temples from "The Valley of the Temples" and there is a private entrance from the hotel grounds to the national park. The hotel will arrange a private guide -- ask for Mario. His tour was wonderful. And the price is more than reasonable. If you are going to the "Valley of the Temples" (and if you go to Sicily, you should not miss this remarkable site), you should stay at this hotel
It's probably the best place to visit the valley of the temples. It's amazing to arrive at night with the temple of Concordia lit up right in front of your room (we had 107 which is a delux room I think) and it was amazing to hang around the garden which are so nice. The room is not super big but good size and maybe a 9 overall; but service is fantastic all around and worth an 111! Cooked breakfast was great and super fast; the breakfast place is right in front of the temple and you feel so lucky to be there, very very special. Then the hotel has its private entrance to the valley (at the end of the carpark...) so you feel even more lucky. Thank you so much!
My husband and I had booked the Presidential Suite for two nights during our honeymoon. On arrival we were offered an upgrade to the Villa Suite, which was 80 euro more per night but worth it for a “splurge.” We enjoyed spending time on our large private terrace, but it should be noted that the terrace is frequented by some noisy doves. We like animals so it wasn’t a problem, even when one dove entered our room and needed some assistance finding her way out… the hot tub was a nice touch but it was difficult to operate (the instructions weren’t clear) and the tub itself wasn’t very clean. There was also a strange odor from the bathroom likely do to the age of the plumbing that was notable but not bothersome when we left the door closed. I enjoyed having access to a Dyson hairdryer because I do not have one at home ;) Some advice - the rooms could use a bottle opener for wine bottles and instructions for use of the Nespresso machine. All other aspects of our stay were wonderful! The staff has a great deal of respect for their work and take pride in making guests feel welcome. This was a “bucket list” excursion for us and we will not likely opt to return given the high cost of our stay, but it’s a worthwhile booking for special celebrations and I would recommend it for anyone who can afford it.
Beautiful and restful hotel with a fabulous view. Was a welcome respite from the tourist bustle. The staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful. Only downside for some is that you need a car to get to town. But you might not want to leave the property anyway, except for Temples.
Perfect getaway
Everything upscale, friendly and helpful service, lots of luxurious extras, great location
Incomparable!
This hotel is AMAZING! We wish we had booked here for longer. View was unparalleled, staff was efficient and responsive, food was incredible, restaurant staff friendly and attentive. One of the most pleasurable stays we’ve ever had.
We were greeted with kind and professional staff that we’re happy to accommodate us for anything we requested. I will love to visit again.
We were greeted with kind and professional staff that we’re happy to accommodate us for anything we requested. We enjoyed many delicious meals in the restaurant on property and a delicious breakfast each morning made to order and delivered promptly to our room for a minimal additional charge. The staff both in the hotel and the restaurant are exceptional. I will love to visit again and will send friends and family here.
very good location.
This Hotel made our vacation the best. You can book this place if you'd like to spoil your spouse. Amazing people, Ask the chef to cook a fish and spaghetti dinner. Then there's Marcella, an amazon lady. Comes from a long history of over 300 years old. In restaurants, there are three. I am going back in march. Taxi for the day 150E Enjoy!!!
I can exhaust every good word of mine about this hotel. Best ever in our trip in Italy. Recommend to every nice.
The Hotel Villa Athena is definitely a 5 star hotel in all areas. The location and views being right next to the Valley of the Temples is fantastic. The staff, amenities and service level are amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
A beautiful, elegant hotel
Villa Athena from the outside is very unassuming that it masks the elegance and interesting interior design within. There are touches of antiquity mixed in with modern. Step in and it is serenity. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and courteous. It’s a destination hotel, and if you’re lucky, get a room with a view of the temple.
It’s good
The room was small but accommodating, small window with a view of the temples. Food very expensive compared to most restaurants in Sicily, $20 drinks and a $25 euro burger for lunch, delicious, but for Canadians that’s a $35 burger….other than that nice to be on the property with private entrance to the temples…
Unique setting next to ancient ruins, charming landscaping, rooms are big
It is right by the monuments
beautiful!
It is a great experience to be in a hotel which is inside the archeological park. The view of the temple is amazing. Highly recommended
Not worth the price, but the view is incredible.
Overall, the hotel was disappointing. The location is excellent and the views are as well. The room itself was also very nice. The service, however, was not good. The main disappointment was the food. It is meant to be really fancy, but it was overpriced and not delicious. We left this 5 star hotel and went to another that was 1/5 the price and 10x better service and better food. If the location weren’t so good, I sadly wouldn’t even consider this hotel. For full disclosure, one of our dinner meals was so delayed that we ended up canceling our main course. The meal itself was comped, which was a nice gesture.
Walking distance from Valley of Temples
