They did not allow me to check-in due to parking fees. In my booking it says it was included and I showed them about my confirmation. Still, they stubbornly refused that saying, "We don't care from where you booked". You either pay the parking fees to us or we will not allow you to check-in. I need a FULL compensation of this with the horrible experience that we encountered. Please note, I went there with my family and kids and they are all traumatized.

Size of room good

We arrived a little past midnight and the security guard was very helpful. We got to our condo and immediately realized that the photos on Expedia were from a remodeled unit. Ours was not updated! A few minutes after arriving, the security guard knocked on our door and asked to see our reservation. Apparently the condo was double booked and the other guest had just arrived. Good thing we weren't a few minutes later in arriving or we might not have had a place to stay! The property is not updated, with holes in the bathroom ceiling and cabinets that are falling apart. The morning we left it was raining and the drain in the parking garage was clogged. We had to load our car in water that was about 8" deep! The location of this property is great, so I don't understand why they wouldn't want to update this property??

Everything was close by. Enjoyed walking to beach and finishing up at swimming pool. Everything close by. Love it. We had a great peaceful vacation.

The location and rooms are fantastic. Pools/hot tubs are excellent. Staff is friendly. The overall condition of the property has seriously deteriorated. Parking is very limited and the set up is cumbersome and not well marked. The buildings are all one gust of wind away from crumbling. The property needs some serious work. I hope the property can put in the work it needs as this property has potential to be a real standout.

The room was very old outdated and musty. The patio is about to break apart. It is very dangerous. Someone could just crash right through it. Overall, our experience was just terrible. The smell had gotten into our luggage and it made our house smell the same way until I could get air sanitizers and wash our bags down The fixtures in the kitchen, were not turn the proper way and some of the cabinets were broken. We really deserve to be refunded every penny of our money back for we live better than this and we expected better for the money we paid.

Rough start, but a nice condo

The owner of the condo clearly does a great job keeping the interior well maintained - everything was lovely inside the unit. However the building needed care. My husband and I have mobility issues and both elevators that serviced our building were out of order. 4 flights of stairs every time we wanted to go out to the beach or the pool or dinner? That was extremely difficult. Before we checked in, I messaged the booking people when they sent me the link to the guest app, and let them know that we were driving down late Friday night. They assured me that there would be a security guard at the gate that would provide us access. There wasn't. We drove around the parking lot, trying to identify which building was the right one ( only 2 buildings of 6 or 7 are marked?) and trying to find anyone that could give us a parking tag. There were other guests also trying to find him. The next day, the rest of the staff were super helpful & friendly, it was just a poor start to our weekend. It might be helpful if you put a map of the property on the guest app, then I could have found where our room was prior to driving around in the middle of the night. We

Good location

LOVED this cozy place!

We loved this cozy place! The view of the beach right across the street was amazing as well. I loved the gated community and how safe it felt. It was so quiet around us it felt like we had the whole building to ourselves! The pool was very clean and our kids loved it too! We will for sure be making reservations at The Victorian from now on for all our future beach trips!

We only stay for one night and hurricane barly hit. Scary. About other than it was nice place by the beach

Overall good room

Nice but not what expected.

The room was nicely decorated and came with a lot of amenities that were very appreciated.The view was beautiful and the pool was very nice. There were just a few issues but they were enough to leave a review to at lest let future guests know what to expect. My husband has bad knees and ALL of the elevators were out of order. We were on the top floor so he was in pain from having to use the stairs. The second issue was the bathroom. The part by the focet in the shower was broken upon arrival and looked like black mold was present. We tried to stay out of the bathroom as much as possible because of it. The shower curtain rod also looked out of place so the curtain did not shut properly. The toilet runs constantly if you don't move the handle a few times so that the tank can fill up. The staff was informative and when we had questions they helped but we have come to expect smiling friendly welcomes anywhere else we have stayed and that was something lacking here. The location is also something we concider when booking and being within walking distance of Wal-Mart, the fishing pier, & restaurants was nice and a reason for giving more stars.

Place not to stay

Was not the best. Room definitely needed some attention some updates. Elevators were out. That made it hard taking everything upstairs. Beds very uncomfortable very thin and lumpy. Bathroom looked like it was about to fall apart. My other family had a room with no ac for 2 days. So no I did not enjoy my stay at all.

The pools were fantastic for our kids. Location was perfect for enjoying the beach. Our unit was not representative of the pictures we saw online. Our unit was rundown and in need of updates. It was listed as housing 6 guests and there wasnt even enough kitchenware for everyone to have a plate and silverware. A few dollars put into the unit would benefit it immensely.

The property is quiet, and we felt safe. But trying to get in and out was a literal headache.

uncomfortable, unsanitary, and broken

To start my review positively, this place had great AC and water pressure, but the bad certainly outweighed the good. Just because a condo is older doesn’t mean it needs to be uncomfortable, unsanitary, and broken. Smells terrible, toilet overflows, not cleaned prior to our stay, door lock broken, curtains broken, stained sheets, and so much more. We would suggest staying away from this property.

Landscaping was great. New appliances but dated furniture. Lots of small maintenance issues in apartment. Says it sleeps six but crowded with 4 people and their luggage. My son found a child's stuffed animal in his bed making us question the housekeeping. Instructions were easy. Our hide a bed couch wasn't working properly, so we didn't use it. Apartment smelled musty. There wasn't enough receptacles for electronics and the ones that were there were hard to get to. Toilet ran almost continuously and sink in bathroom sounded like air raid siren when in use. Sliding balcony door lock busted along with the locking bar. My wife and I were the only one's strong enough to slide balcony door open, as it seemed to have a broken track. Chair on balcony was busted and not safe to sit on. Again location is great but there are hotels nearby.

I had a good experience overall. The front desk was very hrlpful and courteous. The issue was they were doing repairs on the roof which made things very noisy starting at 7:30am. Lots of banging all day long. So loud we had to leave sooner and stay gone longer to avoid going back to our condo. I dont think they should have rented our unit out if they were hping to do repairs to the roof directly above our unit.

Great place to stay

Love this place!!! We have stayed here the past 2 years and the experience was top notch both times. Very clean and everything you could ever ask for all around. Beautiful view of the beach and 61st fishing pier.

One of my least favorite condos I’ve ever stayed at. Elevator broken so had to go up and down six flights of stairs constantly. No Wi-Fi or cable because of a recent storm the week prior.

The Victorian

The property was in a good location for what we wanted. Unfortunately, the internet never worked so we didn’t have access to the tv’s when we had down time.

Plenty of room for the 5 of us. Everything was well maintained, clean, and nice.

Property is older but is really kept up! The unit we were in was completely redone and just as pictured. We would definitly stay again the view, location, amenities and price are all worth it!

Won't stay again

Our booked room states accommodates 6, which it did have a bed for everyone to sleep in, two sets had to double up which we were aware of, The room itself for 6 well your very much on top of each other. The room was dusty, the bedroom was musty smelling, We found a pair of XXL dark blue track pants in the sofa sleeper along with wrappers crumbs and other items when the bed was pulled out. The bathroom,bathtub needs a true elbow grease cleaning. We appreciated the proximity to the Walmart and the beach, The beach was literally across the street. This property has two pools one is too deep for most children the more child family friendly gets way to crowded, The pool lights were not on one night making it way too dangerousfor children to have them off. Our stay was mid week to weekend definitely a different clientele from week to weekend. Too much cigarette and pot smell. The building our room was in is tired needs updating, which they could be in the process of doing as they were working on the roof every morning early, Elevators are slow one not working at all. Would have liked some notifications of roof work prior to stay. overall wouldn't stay again.

Bait and Switch!!! Buyer Beware!!!!

Terrible!!! Two weeks before our stay I was told by Ryson Vacation Rentals they had to move our room but it was an exact equivalent! I paid for a King size bed and was given a full size bed at best (advertised as queen). 6 people crammed in a full two bunk beds and a pull out couch that took up 90% of our living quarters...ridiculous!! They said I would be compensated after hour or more back and forth on phone with multiple people. Then on check out they said there were doing nothing!! Not to mention I had to reach out to them again multiple times before even getting a response. Terrible customer service!!! They even tried to blame the change in room on hotels by telling me to reach out to them. On vacation you shouldn't have to have this added stress.

Property was great for what we needed. It is very dated though and the lighting, especially in the bathroom, was very dim.

Needed update.

Unit was clean, well kept. I would just suggest new curtains for the sliding glass door and darker/ light blocking curtains for the bedroom due to the light coming in from the walkway. The pools were not as clean as they should've been, but we didn't really use them. I'm sure it's hard to keep them clean across from the beach. We do love this property and will return in the future.

Right on beach. Great acess to everything nearby. Can walk dont have to drive. Had a great time..

Love this condo!

I always love staying at The Victorian..excellent location, condo was so nice and cozy, parking is great, pools are so nice and clean, i feel safe inside the gates. I will always stay here. Note to the propert management team...the chairs on the balcony would be so much better if they were taller. When you sit on them, the top beam of the handrail totally blocks out the ocean. Not a big deal, but that's one of my favorite things to do.

GOOD AREA AND GROCERY NEARBY BECAUSE WALMART IS NEXT BLOCK AND RESTAURANTS NEAR THE PROPERTY, THE BEACH IS ACROSS THE STREET, THE ROOM NEEDS UPGRADE BUT EVERYTHING WAS WORKING GOOD.

The property is a very old building. But each condo is unique in it's own way. The inside was very clean and comfortable. I will still choose this option over a hotel room because you have the option to cook, relax and enjoy a comfortable living area. The kids really enjoyed it.

My front and back view was construction materials laying around and they were doing construction in top of our room didnt lwt us sleep late and enjoy our vaction the contols were hard to use

The space is comfortable - not plush, but just comfortable enough. Also, great location and great service.

Everything was good. Pretty clean in the condo. Definitely going back !

Unexpected Visitors Showed Up, So Beware!

The location of the condos are right across from the beach. It was very nice overall but there were roaches.

The shower is an issue. Mold apparent. Half of the glass door stored in a closet, leaving nothing to help secure a safe exit.

I loved that we could walk to the beach from the property and the staff were really nice and helpful.

Inaccessible balcony

No warning… I’m sitting on the balcony early morning, drinking my first cup of coffee and two men appear in a construction bucket and hop off onto my balcony without warning or explanation!

Right by the beach Very small and outdated

Save your money and don’t ever come here.

Victorian Galveston

Power was off in our unit when we arrived at 4 pm. It took over 4 hours to get it restored! Don't know what was wrong or how or who finally fixed it. No communication from anyone after a person from the rental agency showed up an hour after we reported the problem. Also we were contacted by the rental agency 2 weeks before our visit to inform us that the unit we rented and paid for 3 months earlier would not be available and they would "try" to find other accomodations. They offered one other unit which we accepted. However the alternate unit was priced $92 less than the one we initially rented but we have not recieved a refund for the difference.

LOTS of space. Easy access to the beach and to nearby shopping area.

Galveston Getaway

It was ok and close to Seawall. We loved the balcony even if we were the furthest unit back and right by elevator. A/C worked great but loud. Location was great close to everything including a Walmart. Floors were dirty upon arrival. TV Remote needs batteries and 2 light bulbs were out. Beds uncomfortable and twin bunk had several springs missing. Towels were brought late (by housekeeping) that evening. Overall it was ok! We plan to return and try a different unit.

The place was very clean and it was convenient to the shopping places and the beach, and the only thing I didn’t like was that we didn’t have a broom or mop but everything else was great

We were greeted with a live roach on the stove. Only one burner worked, we had two microwaves because one was broken, there was a big gap where the refrigerator was because they replaced the old one. The dishwasher wasn’t attached so when you tried to open it the whole unit came out. We had a pest control guy come out second day there to look around because the unit was apparently infested with roaches. He showed us all of the dead roaches and all of the roach poop on the doors and other areas. He said this unit should not be rented out because it’s so bad. They had it blocked off for 3 weeks trying to get rid of the roaches.
