The location is great as it’s only a 3 minute walk to Kyoto station. Otherwise it feels very trendy clean and quiet. Would recommend!

Close to train station and bus stops going to points of interest. Lots of great restaurants near the hotel. It was wonderful to do laundry after we checked in (after a week of travelling in Japan). Courteous staff and front desk employees.

Initially, the service was really good, as they were very attentive and kind in trying to help us find our missing luggage. However, later interactions with the staff were notably different. The same staff were extremely rude and curt to my partner and I when we had asked them to ship our luggage using their Yamato transport service. They were sarcastic and generally had a bad attitude which was surprising to us because we had not done anything differently and had asked politely. The room was small and the shower area was uneven, leading to pools of water after any length of time in there. The water station for bottle refill was only located in the basement, which was extremely inconvenient at times. Overall, I wanted to like this place because of the service our first day there and prior reviews, but it ended up being the worst hotel in our trip out of the 4 we stayed in. It wasn’t a bad hotel by any means, but I cannot recommend due to the reasons above.

Very friendly and kind staff, they offer so many options for their guests like private bath booking, water, happy hour drinks and luggage storage, and it’s quite close to Kyoto station, very convenient.

I had high expectations for this hotel. It was very dark and had a cold, gloomy feel to it. Room size is standard Japanese... theres no kettle in the room. Basement is communal kitchen with hot water, fridge, microwave etc. The mini movies were international screenings. Location is 10min walk to Kyoto Station and less than 5min walk to several bus stops. I wouldnt stay here again. Not bad but not great. You have to pay 200 yen tax per night stay as well.

Tiny room but had everything and good walk-in shower. Take Central Exit from the train station & turn left away from the Tower cross the street then 1st right only about 7 minute walk. Staff have good English & offered free drink if you don’t use house keeping cool. Staff had a good map & marked the big supermarket on B2 where we bought food to cook at the Hotel as it has a great shared kitchen. Try the supermarket pizza they are hot & good & 600 yen. We bought 1100 yen all day bus pass for going to so many sites but be prepared so crowds.

Value for money and close to Kyoto train station and transport around the city.

Loved this place, my favorite hotel I stayed in in Japan. The location is super convenient, very close to Kyoto station for a good price. The room was very comfortable, I like the benches for luggage storage. Amenities were also nice, definitely recommend booking the private bath. You need a reservation but don’t really need to make it ahead of time, I asked the front desk at like 11pm and they let me use it. Short films every night and lots of cool books, really nice atmosphere. And free drinks if you don’t opt for room cleaning! Would definitely stay again.

The workers were really helpful and sweet. The room was quiet and clean. I did have an issue with how damp the room was. Not sure if this is common in Japan, in summer, but would prefer to stay else where especially with asthma and breathing issues.

Will the AC placement i was quite cold but if i turned it highernthan 25 i was too hot. That was the only neg. for me.

Great Location! Great for travelers who dont plan on staying in their hotels for long periods of time. All I needed, was a bed, a shower, peace and quiet! I got all of that!

Unexpected hole in the wall type of property. One wouldn’t expect that it looks the way it does inside based on its exterior. Very modern, clean, and elegant inside. Outstanding interiors. The Double Room is decent size. Bathroom and shower area is larger than most of the hotels/airbnbs we’ve stayed at in Japan. Love the long bench on one side of the wall, convenient for luggage placement. Has a Family Mart a few steps away and multiple dining options around including an amazing sushi place across the street. Hotel also has umbrellas available for guests to borrow in case of rain. Overall a great stay! Would definitely stay here again.

Location Good, unique hotel

When I called about accessibility, I can take a few steps and do not need my wheelchair to move around the room and access the bathroom, I was told a small step into the bathroom. It was a very large step. Also was not barrier free to get to the reception, there was a curb before getting to the door to reception. At check in, the hotel staff should have recognized the room I booked would not work for my chair. I have no problem that I had to pay more for a different room. I however should not have even been checked into the original room. I could barely get my chair into the room and it provided no space to charge or move around the room once the chair was in. This was probably a perfectly fine hotel, staff was friendly, hotel was safe, clean, quiet and very unique. However, for my needs this was not a good hotel.

Good Kyoto location

Smallish double room which was really warm until the air conditioning was put on and only came with one pillow each for the bed but was brought one from reception when staff were asked. Has shared kitchen facilities downstairs as well as coin laundry which was in demand. Soundproofing of the room was good but not perfect. Plenty of staff at reception all the time and was allowed to store luggage there before checking in. Location good, handy for Kyoto station.

A very quaint, cozy and comfortable place to stay. Sharing the very clean kitchen area with other people is a great idea. Their library/bookstore is classy and ingenious. Their night activities fantastic!

The room's where clean, the staff professional, courteous and friendly. Nearly dining was superb with a huge choice of styles. The site's that I visited were all an easy and cheap bus ride away.

"Coup de coeur"...

Party of three adults stayed for 3 nights in June. Hotel is an easy walk to Japan Rail and local subway stations. The neighborhood offers plenty of restaurant alternatives on the street or at the nearby train station and mall. Room was very nice and offered enough space for 3 adults with backpacks. The common areas are outstanding (library, lounge, full kitchen, and laundry). We took advantage of the kitchen each morning and some lunches as an alternative to eating out as a nearby grocery store (in the train station) offer many take-home meals that could be heated. Absolute “coup de Coeur” of the trip.

Stayed with my friend in the bunked room. Was amazing, staff were super helpful, room was clean. Room comes with free shampoo, conditioner and body soap. Towels were included. Gin bar was also amazing! Great location!

I enjoyed a perfectly comfortable stay there. One of the most attractive points is that the hotel has a beautiful library has 2000 books about Kyoto. Significant works by Apsu Shusei are on display there. I'm impressed them so much.

Modern. Room clean. A little dark in a common area

We booked this property before it opened so we weren’t sure what to expect but it was fantastic. It was very easy to walk to from Kyoto station ( about 6 minutes wheeling 2 cases) which meant not having to catch a bus or another train. The cool modern reception / lobby area is beautiful with a bar, seating, a huge wall of books on Kyoto, a video screen map and a downstairs area to relax. Our twin bunk room was quiet, simple and small but designed really well to make the most of every inch of space. We stayed two nights and were out exploring most of the time so it was a comfortable and quiet base to return to. Location was great, close to buses, trains and walkable to a lot of sights. Free umbrellas to borrow were a bonus on our last day when it was drizzly.

A very new hotel

I stayed on the week the hotel first opened for business. So my room was very clean and everything was very new. The room is also very compact. One thing I didn't like is that they do not provide daily housekeeping. Different from other hotels where u can just hang a sign on your door if you want housekeeping. Also on my first night, I took a shower in completely cold water and this is November when the weather has become cold. Hot water just didn't seem to come out from the tap. It was fine after the first night. My room didn't have a dustbin too so I had to use the sanitary bin in the toilet. Guess they are too new and still getting in the hang of things.

A nice stay in Kyoto Close to Kyoto station, cosy environment, helpful staff and nice facilities They have many books in the lobby for reading and you can also buy it if you like which is very cool However the room is a bit small for two persons with luggages which you will have no space if you open two suitcases at the same time Their air con is centrally controlled which you cannot change the tempature from your room. It was very hot in the middle of the night but we had no control of it!

部屋はコンパクトですが必要なものは揃っていて使い勝手がとてもよかったです。また、ロビーのブックストアは図書館のようでとても楽しく、音楽や香りも素敵でくつろげました。自由に使えるキッチンもとても便利で、自由に過ごせる空間が多いのがよかったです。

Veldig fint hotell og hyggelig personalet. Eneste problemet våres med oppholdet var at entré er såpass lav at du kan treffe hodet dersom du er relativt høy. Disse var oppmerket med skrift og dempere som hjelper om du skulle være så uheldig. Det var ellers veldig hyggelig å bo på hotellet og det kan anbefales til de som vil reise til Kyoto.

It was everything I needed and expected it to be.

京都駅から徒歩圏内でお洒落で清潔感がありました。 ドライヤーがPanasonicだったのは良かったです。 各種アメニティ、パジャマが部屋に無かったのは不便でした。

Our three nights stay at Tune in Kyoto were amazing. The hotel is close to Kyoto Station and going to the city centre is easy and convinient. The lobby with the gin bar and movies is a great touch. Our room were definitely sufficient. The staff is good at english and very accomodating.

Hotel bien situe et calme

Ganz nah von Hauptbahnhof. Praktisch. Das Zimmer ist etwas klein aber in Japan ist ja so.

接客が素晴らしい。クラフトジンの飲み比べや映画上映、図書スペースなど好奇心がくすぐられることが沢山！立地も駅に近く、食事する場所も沢山ありました。

Great mood, definitely a unique experience with their inhouse bookstore and evening shortfilm presentations. A trendy stay in a traditional city. Great contrast. Rooms are a bit on the smaller side (no closet, no safe, 2 spaces under bed to stow luggage) but comfortable.
