This must be the worst, coldest, dirtiest disgusting place i have ever stayed. I was on the ground floor and did not leave my room for more than 5 minutes a time in case of getting burgled. There was a dirty tampax outside my bedroom window and it was just the pits. No matter how many hours without sleep or flights missed would i ever stay here again!!!!
Clean,everything needed
The room was dirty, the toilet was disgusting and never cleaned even though it was shared.
The reception staff was people friendly and made me feel welcome. The property was very clean all around which is very good and both the bedroom and bathroom facilities were very tidy. And yes I will definitely be back soon. 😃
omeless doss house
The place is used to sleep homeless down and outs and prostitutes, I was even asked did I want any business, they smelt of dirt and they had their dogs in the room, awful stay
I had a horrible recetion when i got there a bit uncomfortable as he seemed angry ilke in when i went to leave the roomhis way. I had squeez past the manager's bikes nd move them
The staff were lovely and welcoming. The room was clean but the shared bathroom was in terrible condition, we daren't use the shower.
Great hotel
Danny. Room 12. Great hotel. Clean. Excellent value for money.
Disappointed and disgusting
As I family I wouldn’t stay here, it wasn’t Clean and steins on bed. Damp patches on ceiling and a funny smell. Taps not working in en-suite. Generally bad experience and it definitely wasn’t as described.
Superb
Really good place close to shops and many more places 10 mins to town centre walk no complains about noise just people letting kids age 1 bit run lose
The rooms are basic but very functional and exception value. Duty Manager could not have been more helpful
Do not stay here!
Dirty, shabby mattresses and pillows. Stank so much, kept me awake. TV remote broken. No soap. Couldn't park cos full up. Room still uncleaned on checking in at 3.40pm. Would never stay here again. Hotels.com should remove this place from its listings!
Recommend
It was all as expected, I recommend. we had a great weekend. both in the hotel and in the city and beach.
Hen party
Cannot fault our stay, was perfect location, next to the train station and walking distance to the bars. We had the 11 bed room for 8 of us celebrating a friends hen do, there were 2 private bathrooms within the room which was enough for us. Would stay again if was a big group.
Everything I needed
Excellent customer service from the manager when I needed some extra bits he was more than happy to provide them for me
No heating only promised.
Ice cold room . Requested heating was only promised. Later management not available to talk.

We Paid top price for a basic room
We Paid top price for this room which was basic, it was supposed to be a double room, instead it had a bunk bed and two single beds, there was no hot water for the wash basin and the light above the basin did not work. the room was on the ground floor and had frosted windows, no view. There was basic tea making facility, no biscuits. There was WiFi but we could not use it as they did not give details of the access code. We had to go to the hotel next door to check in, they could'tn be bothered to show us the room and there was not enough space to park our car. We had to leave it in the street a good 5 minutes walk away. There was no food option or breakfast. The only plus point was the Shower worked OK. Over all we were very disappointed as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and had planned a special weekend away, for the price we paid (£118) I expected a top rated room with Breakfast included.
Hotel close to beach and shops
We had a nice stay at the hotel, it was very close to the shops so we had no problems getting stuff that we needed. The hotel is also very close to beach and not far from the city centre. There was a bit of problems with parking as someone might park to block you in but the good thing is you could easily knock on people's door to ask them to move their car so you can have a chance to move your own car.
Only bed no breakfast
This is a place to sleep only. The hotel next door is where the owner is. Its not got any staff in you have to go next door. I found the owner of both the hotel and this place to sleep very abrasive. The room was very basic no toilet in the room it was in they were on the landing. bed was far to hard like most places I stay. I paid extra for breakfast in the hotel next door £5.00 which was really good. £25 per night plus £5.00 breakfast. £30 is cheap.
rude guy on reception. worst customer service ever. acctually very sarcastic .i would not recomend anyone.
Budget hotel
If you wanted somewhere to stay overnight it okay but there is not enough parking. Had tone park 10min away from the hotel. Room smelt of dust.
Dirty hotel with extremely violent owner.
This hotel should not be even listed here. We came there with children for long weekend and our holiday was totally ruined. The place was dirty and smelly. Showers were not suitable for children as the rest of the facilities. Do not expect to use your car there as it will be blocked in tiny driveway. Very very noisy environment with drunk people. The hotel does not have it`s own reception so you have to ring the bell of their "sister" hotel to get a key. All this time you will wait outside on street with children by your side. It worth to say that the owner is very rude and agressive. Due to his violent behavior we had to call the police and leave this place with 3 crying children. I would not recommend this place even to my worst enemy.
It was very comfortable and quite, I will definitely recommend you to friends and family
Would book again.
Great place to stay if you plan on going out to experience the nightlife. Would not recommend for families.
We thought the hotel is so poor we believe it should be taken off your hotel listings. We think it should only be fit for stag/hen party's and for contractors as that was the only people using the hotel.Showers were of a very poor state carpets filthy.
Nice hotel
Easy check in and out parking available 5 mins drive to beach or 15 min walk
Room wasn't clean ,smelly some of beds was broken
This hotel is walking distance to the beach
This hotel is close to beach and town centre The only problem was the bed not being comfortable to sleep on and the check in and check out time which is 1600 to 1000 checkout Rest all ok and fine staff are very helpfull
Okay for 1 or 2 night stay
The hotel is easy to find that is the plus side. The hotel is what I expected before I booked it; and certainly got no illusions that it will be a 5 star accommodation. The hotel is clean and had a good shower. The stag and hen party people were not there because we stayed midweek but I think it's a different story in the weekend, there were few families with children when we were there which I'm happy about because I got 10 year old myself. If your looking for just somewhere to sleep for a night or two while you explore this part of England then this is suitable. I booked 2 night; we managed to visit New Forest, Bournemouth beach and Jurassic coast. Word of warning the beach is quite a walk.
FAMILIES AVOID THIS PLACE
DO NOT book this hotel, it is not suitable for families, it is used by people going to stag and hen parties. NOT AT ALL suitable for families AT ALL !!!! There were women's clothing scattered in the "shared" bathrooms
Free upgrade!
Was originally supposed to stay in The Lodge, I was given a free upgrade to the Ashleigh next door. Hotel manager was lovely and allowed me to stay in the lounge area for a few hours before an interview I had. I loved the Ashleigh and would always recommend!
Run away of such a hotel
It was a terrible night. the beds are the narrowest I had ever seen. I don't know what is smaller than the single size bed, but the width was like 50 cm maximum. They are not particularly beds, they are matresses, places on elevated obejects on the floor ! (and non comfortable at all) There are no staff !! If you want anything, you should go for next door hotel, and ring until somebod shows up. When I tried to take a shower, the shallow tub was blocked, and started to flood to the bathroom floor within 3 minutes. Terrible place, do yourself a favour and do not go there !
Frine and friendly hotel
Simple and fine hotel, very friendly. Very close to train- and coach-station. Would like to stay there again. A bit cold the first day, but heated up fine after some hours of radiator on.
Stay overnight at The Lodge
Very impersonal no one to Greet you on arrival. Had to collect keys from Hotel next door on arrival but couldn't park on there courtyard. Nowhere to park. When I booked I asked for a double bed. When we arrived we had 3 single beds??!!! Very uncomfortable.
Bog standard
very basic lack of gear in room and décor needs a bit of repair
Not worth the money.
Dodgy place and area...not good for small kids.
Thank goodness it was only one night
The hotel room was fine for an overnight stay. To say there is parking is wholly inaccurate and when I dared question it the owners were both extremely rude and refused to accept responsibility. With young children this was of great importance to me. I wouldn't stay there again even for a place to simply lay my head for a night as I strongly disliked the attitude of the owners.
comfy bed and great location
As I was staying with a work colleague this was a surprise when we got there to find we had a family room which was excellent, this was great all round andwould reccommend to families as well on a budget
not what was expected
The hotel itself was not that bad. The owner seemed angry at the world when I checked in, not sure what that was all about. It seems there is a major problem with parking. You have to jockey for position and if someone blocks you in, oh well. That really sucks. That was NOT explained in the description of the hotel when it says "free parking". We just parked on the street and that was a bit of a hassel too. The neighborhood? A little seedy. But hey, I'm from NJ so I could deal with that.....LOL
Awful
absolute value for money.
Not a flash hotel but absolutely brilliant for the what I paid, just for the bed but parking was included and a nice cafe round the corner for breakfast. Will use this hotel again.
Good place for stag and hen do's!
Average room geared up for groups. Not overly comfortable for business trip or couples
The first and the last on that junk what they name it "guest house"! The worst room what I ever seen. Dirty and messy, with no space to move inside. I was afraid to drink a cup of coffee... I have ask to change the room but I was refused with that voice "for that money what you expect"!
Hotel with many beds
Staff was really nice. In room carpet wasn't clean, bins needed changing. Really cold room, at arrival room was warm and night time heating were switched off. In room could smell a little damp. Shower didn't work properly stuck on hot water. Car park terrible, people blocked my car and I couldn't get out for 3 hours and because of that needed to change journey plan as had no time to visit city centre.
Good hotel
Everything we expected
close to beach
toilet would not flush broken handle , I had to remove cistern lid to flush toilet other wise would have blocked , we were both over 60 years of age and had to climb 33 stairs to get to our room, not good ,
A night at The Lodge
We got off to a bad start because the hotelier wasn't expecting us to arrive with dogs despite us making it absolutely clear when we booked and despite the Hotel being advertised as a dog friendly hotel. The room was incredibly basic and much more suited to hen/ stag parties, not a young family. We had 1 stained towel between 4 of us and beds only had 1 pillow. The only positive was the room itself was clean.
ok hotel
Was adequate for one night stay with the kids
Enjoyed beautiful Bournemouth.
It was amazing. We had good time.
