The Prince Kitano is centralized in the perfect location to visit the attractions of New York, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the cons were no in room amenities such as a microwave or iron, there was no clarity on parking and rates based on vehicle type and the food is very expensive for a group or family traveling together, overall a very nice hotel
Overall the entire stay was good. Front desk, house keeping, restaurant staffs are friendly and welcome guests. However, I requested a room on higher floor with nice view but the room I was provided is located at the lowest floor of the room type and the view was not good at all.
Clean, spacious, breakfast
Very quiet, clean, and conveniently located.
Great hotel , great location . Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely would stay there again .
As a platinum expedia member staying at a VIP hotel i booked a large corner room with the 2 beds for both my husband and myself and also our son to stay for 2 nights. We were given breakfast buffet vouchers for only 2 people and i was declined a 3rd when i asked. So only 2 of us for breakfast each morning without adding extra charges. It was a request that i felt could have been met with little expense to the hotel but great rewards for our overall stay and experience. Disappointed.
Wonderful stay! Clean, great breakfast, wonderful hospitality! Close to transportation! Subway and bus. Walking distance to many great restaurants and sites!! Quick walk to Radio City Music Hall and Times Square!
Prince Kitano = below average
Beds were tiny, and it was so breezy by the window that at first I thought the window was open. It was a cold December night. I was freezing and had to sleep with a wool hat on.
Five star experience
Could not be happier with our choice of hotel. Service was outstanding and the room spacious and comfortable. Extremely quiet too. Cannot wait to come back for another first class stay.
Wonderful boutique hotel in a great location. Friendly and professional staff, nice buffet breakfast. Room adequate size for NYC. One suggestion, have a mirror in the room, not only in the bathroom, so two people can get ready at the same time.
Love this hotel
Wonderful view of the empire state building. Super helpful staff and the hotel is close to everything and very clean. This is my 2nd stay here and i would come back again
The hotel was wonderful. It was clean and had all of the little extras that you would find in a 5-star hotel which were truly appreciated which made a difference during our stay. It was also safe and convenient to everything. The staff and service were exceptional. Brian was especially kind and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Excellent.
Amazing experience beautiful hotel
Great hotel in a safe, quiet and accessible area, just a few minute walk to Grand Central Station and other tourist sites. Big room with 2 double beds, with 2 comfy chairs, kettle and coffee/tea bags provided, good amount of wardrobe storage, plenty of coat hangers, dressing gown and umbrella provided too. Good size TV . Bathroom was clean and good shower once you worked out how to use it! The heated toilet seat was great, a first for me! The roof top bar was expensive, but same price as other high end bars, view was epic. Lack of plugs/charging points in our room, which we found challenging but we managed by juggling. Helpful staff, kept our bags as we arrived before check-in time and on our last day allowed us to change etc. very much appreciated.
We received a friendly greeting upon arrival. The hotel feels and smells a bit old. The room was cold, even with adjusting the temperature to 80F. The bathrobes smelled musty. The “clean” water glasses in the bathroom were unacceptably dirty. Breakfast was ok.
Convenient to Grand Central, excellent staff, comfortable beds, deluxe bathrooms, nice breakfast.
Faultless hotel,
Great stay, solo traveler and easy walking distance to most things.
Comfortable, clean hotel with quiet rooms and nice staff. Great midtown location. Only wish they offered morning coffee without having to sit in restaurant.
Staff is excellent super helpful and very friendly. — room was clean with nice amenities and breakfast was quite good. Gorgeous view of Empire State building and a great location if you like to hop around different neighborhoods in the city.Mattress was an old spring type which was a bit to get used to and there was no mirror except for in the bathroom.
Excellent property.
Very clean and comfortable, excellent staff and service, nice area location.
A really excellent hotel and brilliant staff. Would highly recommend
There was no hair dryer in the bathroom. The TV did not turn on with the remote. Both these problems did not present themselves until about 30 minutes before my departure.
Best nyc hotel!
Great stay. Have stayed many times. Best people.
This is the second time we stayed here and we love it! Clean, quiet, the rooftop bar is great as well as the Japanese restaurant and the cafe for breakfast. We will come again!
Great hotel but definitely dated. Our room was tiny but we were hardly there. Very clean and lovely staff. Would definitely stay here again!
Great location-20 minute walk to Radio City or Madison Square Garden. 4 blocks from Grand Central Station. Wide variety of restaurants nearby. Stay here every year come Christmas time.
It was beautiful!
I will stay again on my next visit to NYC
Incredible customer service! We felt like royalty the whole weekend. This place is the real deal.
Great older hotel in a great location. The rooms are small, but very clean and well appointed. Bathrooms are quite nice. There is an amazing (but expensive) Japanese restaurant in the basement and a cool little bar with a rooftop patio on the top floor. Location is extremely convenient to grand central and there are lots of food options nearby.
This hotel was excellent! The customer service is friendly, accommodating, and quick. The rooms are spacious and quiet. The beds are cozy and the bathrooms have toilet seats that are warm! Lol if that's something you are looking for! They have a rooftop bar, a Japanese restaurant, a cafe where you can get breakfast, and a store to buy chocolate. It’s located by Grand Central Station with so many things to do near by! I definitely recommend this hotel and will be visiting again!
Lovely Japanese aesthetic, design, and eateries and rooftop cocktail lounge on site.
Always excellent, great staff, very good breakfast buffet, quiet hotel is a relief and a refuge. I hope to try the downstairs restaurant some day.
Thanks!
Beautiful hotel and excellent staff!
I solo traveled and i loved the food credit that i used for room service
Price paid and convenience.
Good hotel to sightseeing around Manhattan area
The location was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean and the beds wer3 very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. It would be nice, if for the price, that bottled water was provided.
We love staying at the Prince Kitano. Wonderful hotel! A quick walk to everything and yet located in a quieter part of Midtown.
My family and I have stayed at the Kitano twice now and we love it. The location is perfect. The staff is wonderful. It’s very clean and comfortable. And the best part is the room size. Will absolutely always stay here when visiting New York.
Beautiful serene Art Deco style.
We were surprised by a wonderful view of the Empire State Building from our room - Room 1611. Everything was clean, the bathroom featured a bidet and heated seat as well as a towel warmer. The staff was kind and welcomed us into the lobby each time we returned from walking the area. Right down the street from Pershing Square Cafe, Grand Central, the NYC Library; and longer walks to Rockefeller, Bryant Park, and the theater district. We felt extremely safe in the area. We were only 20 minutes or so from LGA so Lyft fares were low. Only two things that keep it from a 5-star were the prices in the cocktail bar (we had full meals for three at local restaurants that were lower price) and we could hear a loud group of guests through a vent. Since we didn’t know where the room could be we didn’t say anything. We just put a towel there and that buffered the sound. It’s just an old building with random, harmless, old building issues. Nothing major. We recommended to friends and would definitely stay here again!
Left More to Be Desired
Liked this hotels location and service. There were a few small things responsible for only giving it three stars. TV was not working, could hear other rooms toilets flushing, and bed felt well worn in. I anticipated more for the 500+ price tag.
The shower mechanics are ridiculously complex and the directions were in Japanese. It was unacceptable
Great stay
The hotel was very nice and quiet. Cool rooftop bar and decent size hotel rooms.
Lovely Accomodations
Wonderful stay for a girls’ weekend in the city. Thank you to the staff for the warm service. The room and beds were so comfortable! Loved the breakfast buffet morning coffee as well.
Great
NY football game
Service is great and amenities are nice. Rooms could use a little upgrade but overall nice hotel and good location
What a lovely very accommodating place.
Great customer service, everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Great!
Excellent service in restaurants, bar and hotel
Great location. Great staff. Older rooms but still clean.
Great hotel with friendly staff.
The hotel was very nice, and is in a quiet and convenient location. The staff was amazing and very friendly. Would definitely recommend!
Great location. Friendly staff.
Great place.
Amazing stay. Great location. Nice staff.
Excellent service. Breakfast was great.
Japanese elegance
Just spent a very nice long weekend here. The hotel is an oasis of elegance just far enough from bustle of midtown, but close enough to many things: round the corner to the Morgan Library, 4 blocks to Grand Central to catch subways and trains (incl: to JFK). We had a generous sized corner room which was quiet despite facing Park Ave. Dinner at the in-house Japanese restaurant Hakubai was outstanding. I think I will pick this again if next in Manhattan
Very clean unlike in NY
The hotel and the staff did excellent…! We really enjoyed our visit. Thank you
Could offer coffee in the lobby. For the price we paid, they should offer free coffee and continental breakfast.
Great hotel close to subway. Hotel rooms a little aged but very clean. Staff are very attentive and friendly.
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean. The location was perfect. Would highly recommend.
Wonderful location and wonderful staff Complementary breakfast a plus!
The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, and the room was wonderful
Super nice. Very clean. I will make this my go-to hotel when in Manhattan.
breakfast could be upgraded.
My new New York home away from home.
Loved, loved, loved this hotel. Extraordinary value. The room was beautiful and super quiet.
Overall great and comfortable
Great location. Comfortable large room. Friendly staff. The breakfast could be improved. Great stay overall
Consistently good -- in a central location. Good restaurants for breakfast & dinner... and a great rooftop bar.
The room was cozy but big enough to stay two nights. Because of the hotel being managed by Japanese companies (Kitano and now Prince Hotel), there is indescribable character to the hotel (positive character, obviously). The hotel is located conveniently close to Grand Central Station and 5th Avenue, although the hotel itself is in the quiet neighborhood. I am hoping to stay again in the near future when I visit NYC.
Amazing hotel, perfect location, good service with good price.
With the price I’m expecting for more but with the view of our room and the exceptional service, it was excellent especially with the crew in the breakfast area.
I love the Prince Kitano as they were very informative and very accommodating. They also were very clean and friendly. I would definitely come back here and stay here again. It’s near a Grand a central so walking to K-Town and Time Square was short!
Loved the space, caliber of service, and amenities available.
Nice jap hotel. Different vibe than main stream hotel. Apparently jap prime minister stayed here. Bed was too soft
Amazing!
Roof top was closed , breakfast the same every morning , room way too small .. I will not choose it again
I used to stay at the Kitano for business for years. It is very much the same. Clean, efficient. Rooms are a bit dark, but quiet given it’s on Park Ave. Easy walking location. Friendly staff. No restaurant open on Mondays inside the hotel.
Great location and facilities
Great location. Very clean, comfortable, and quiet room. Would definitely stay here again.
Great property in park ave
Very nice hotel, kind of old but exceptional maintenance. Nice staff, nice room, nice area you at 2-3 blocks from Grand central. Breakfast was good but and the staff was great.
Breakfast was delicious
The luggage storage was such a great help. The room is not as I expected for a 4-star hotel, not grand, not high-ceiling. But the staffs are commendable.
Perfect choice
Room with two beds, very spacious corner room, can see empire state building out of window, room is beautiful, rooftop bar is great, and location very convenient right near Grand Central station, yet nice and quiet.
Beautiful lobby and excellent room/ bathroom
Ok
Wonderful hotel, well decorated and understated, we loved the quiet atmosphere of the hotel, and its clean, relaxing atmosphere. Rooms were clean and we had everything we needed. The view of the Empire State Building was magnificent.
This is my second time staying at Prince Kitano and I always find it comfortable, clean and the staff is so helpful. It’s a lovely hotel and it is located very conveniently near Grand Central.
Excellent stay!--recommend.
The place was in a great location. Very clean. Staff was helpful.
Heaven on Park Avenue
Elegant hotel with gracious, helpful staff. Our 15th floor room had a view of the Empire State Bldg.
Great hotel. Super attentive and friendly staff. Larger than most New York hotel rooms
Big rooms for NYC and we had a great view of the Empire State Building. The rooftop bar also has a great view of it and good drinks. Breakfast was included with our room and was good but buffet not worth $40 if not included.
