Wonderfully peaceful, gorgeous beach, attentive, individualized service. Will return
Everything was Fabulous
The hotel and staff were fantastic. You can really feel that this hotel is privatelybowned and all employees are bought into the ethos of the hotel. Everyone that we met was polite and provided an excellent level of service. The food was also excellent and the room and pool were of a veey high standard. The only missing thing I think are some snacks in the minibar. We will definately return to this hotel.
Wasn’t fond of the Expedia reservations person but at my arrival at the resort I was so taken care off that I enjoyed my stay and rate this place a 10/10 definitely returning and avoiding the chat
I loved how they care for all of their guest. They truly make you feel special there. I would recommend this property to anyone who is planning on visiting Grenada. Side note, please bring bug spray because the bugs/insects are no joke!
The staff are extremely nice and service was amazing. To be honest, I have never had any type of service this good before. Fabian, the guest experiences manager is very friendly and goes out of his way to make sure everyone is having a good time. Food is also very good.
Outstanding property and vacation. All staff incredibly friendly and helpful
Trip to rember spice Island
It's difficult to put into words just how wonderful Spice island is The food is top level the staff are very attentive We had a almond pool suite out of this world
The staff were great! We loved the bartenders and servers. The private beach is very nice. The rooms with the private pools are great.
Set right on one of the longest beaches in The Caribbean The Spice Island Hotels offers good food and service. Most people there are over 65 so if you are young you might be the youngest couple by far. If you can afford it, go for the beach front rooms which are right on the beach
By far the absolute BEST all inclusive I have ever stayed at. Went for a girls trip with my best friend and couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing place to stay. The hotel reached out in advance asking if we wanted a car service to pick us up, it was an extra charge but so worth it!! We were promptly picked up in a Porsche truck, welcomed to the hotel with drinks and cool towels. Escorted to our upgraded room (free of charge just because the hotel wasn’t at full capacity), we were given a stunning room on the beach. The place was immaculate, staff service was like nothing I have ever experienced. Ever staff member knew us by name, the hotel had maybe 50 people staying yet they were fully staffed. You never waited for a drink, or had to ask for something twice, they were just beyond thoughtful and really made every attempt to make sure you had everything you could possibly want. We went on a private excursion to the waterfalls (7 sisters) which I highly recommend it was a highlight of the trip. I thought it would be like one of these group excursions but nope that’s not how they roll at spice island we have a private tour guide, very reasonably priced and so worth it. Not much to do on the property but that is just what we wanted, the gorgeous beach and pina coladas we more than enough to occupy us. Food was the best I have had at an all inclusive, every night a different menu, all alla cart none of these mediocre anything and everything buffets at spice island.
Spice Island Beach Resort (SIBR) is a wonderful resort that is truly luxurious. The staff takes care of everything from the time you arrive and already knows your name. The beach is beautiful as is the island of Grenada. We truly enjoyed our stay there and look forward to returning. The atmosphere is is very quiet and relaxed, but dining is rather fancy which we enjoyed. I think the food and dining experience at SIBR is the highlight as it seems like your day will revolve around your meals. They had entertainment in the evenings about every other day and during the day on Sunday, I believe. They reached out to us prior to our arrival about any dietary requirements or other needs. I asked about a fan in the room because I don't like to sleep without one and usually carry one when I travel. When we got there, they had a brand new fan sitting in the room that was awesome. As far as dietary restrictions are concerned, my wife has Celiac and thus cannot have gluten. Upon our arrival, they scheduled a meeting with the chef in order to talk about this and the staff was keen to make her aware if she could not have an item from the menu. They made her gluten free bread each day. Of course, they kept the room fridge stocked with beer each day for me and I love Carib. Either way, someone walks up and down the Resorts beachfront each day and takes orders from the bar. Everyone there was fabulous. You really do feel like royalty while you're there. Guys need pants and shoes at dinner.
We just spent 7 days at Spice Island Resort and it was one of the very best places we have been in the Caribbean. The staff at the resort is outstanding and they definitely made our stay memorable. Grand Anse beach is definitely one of the best and we were very surprised at how clean it was. Absolutely no seaweed, which many other resorts have lots of problems with. The food at Spice Island may be the best we have ever had as well. We stayed in the Seagrape Suite and we would definitely recommend this as it is right on the beach. You never have to worry about finding a place at the beach. The drinks were outstanding and although we were worried we might not be able to book a massage at the Janissa Spa at the beginning of the week due to it being 'off-season' the staff were able to book my wife and I each with exceptional massages by the Spa manager, Abby. We also did both a half-day snorkelling trip and a half-day tour of Grenada with the legendary guide, Mandoo, also one of the best tours we've ever had. We were so happy while we were there and sad to leave. Truly a relaxing holiday at Spice Island Beach Resort. Many thanks to the fantastic staff there who make the resort one of the very best in the Caribbean.
Fantastic property and great staff
Excellent service throughout and despite being a very expensive all inclusive it did feel integrated with the community and surrounding areas. My preference would have been for less formal options in the evening but you could pick and choose courses. Excellent picnic lunches for the cricket and a very nice Provençal rosé!
We very much enjoyed our stay. As they have recently reopened it seemed a bit like we were still in "preseason" as many of the staff were still trying to learn the procedures which was my only critique. Otherwise the beach is 10/10, food is not "all inclusive quality" but is individually made with fantastic quality with every meal. If we are back in Grenada we will be staying here again.
Great food, close to the airport, excellent staff.
I was so surprised by the most delicious food at every meal and the incredibly friendly and efficient staff.
Great service and excellent food, not a buffet even at breakfast
Spice Island was AMAZING. We wanted a nice resort with an all-inclusive option. We booked on Expedia and the next day we were called by Spice Island asking if we had any food allergies and if we wanted a complementary upgrade to our room. What a nice personal touch that phone call was. From the time we arrived until the time we departed we were treated like family. The staff always addressed us by name with a smile and many employees spent time getting to know us. This was our first all-inclusive vacation (typically we take cruises) and I can’t see how we would/could find any place better. The room was perfect and walking right onto the beach was beautiful. They cleaned our room twice a day and always was spotless. Ice was changed whenever they cleaned so we always had fresh ice. The pool was well kept and extremely clean and relaxing. The staff would always come by our patio as well as the pool asking if we needed a drink. The bands they had on Monday and Wednesday night was a nice touch. Lunch on Sunday was wonderful as they grilled a lot of the food and the selection was aplenty. We did an excursion to the rain forest and Spice Island set this up for us and even packed us a very nice picnic lunch. Wow!! My wife, son and I are looking for our return to Spice Island in the future. There couldn’t possibly be a nicer place in Grenada than this wonderful resort. Brian, Heidi and Kody.
I loved that the patio in our room lead right on to the beach.
The suite was excellent. Good view, comfortable beds. However, the skylight in the bathroom brings light into the bedroom making it difficult to sleep past 6:30am. Dining room operating hours is not as convenient as it could be. Lunches are not served until 12pm and dinner not until 7pm. Foods were good but limited choices.
The service was 1st class. I like the fact that I had a private swimming pool and the ocean was a 3 min walk
Perfect Getaway
Spice Island was excellent. The service was perfect, the resort was beautiful, and the food was better than you will find at any Caribbean resort. Although it was all-inclusive, there was not one aspect that felt “mass produced” like at other Caribbean resorts. We loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to go back.
The personal touch by the owner and staff is exemplary.
Nice colonial building on a beautiful beach with amazing staff. Big let down is the food. Extremely conservative, boring and tasteless. Strict dress code in the main restaurant with a fix/set 5-course dinner on most nights. Service and Management are stuck in time. It seems the owner is fascinated by the British Royal Family and that reflects in the service. Very old fashioned and not adjusted to current times. The question is, what is luxury in 2018? Is it a formal dress code and ketchup being served by staff with a silver spoon, or putting your feet in the sand and a beach barbeque with fresh ingredients? You decide....it wasn't for us.
Gorgeous hotel right on the beach with delicious fresh, elegant food and the friendliest staff
Staff was extremely attentive and courteous. The meals were above any resort we have visited. Lovely rooms and facility. Location was premier.
Excellent Service & Beautiful Property
Across the board the staff are on top of all the little things that make their service truly outstanding. The room design is elegant and comfortable. And the beach rooms are offer an experience right on the beach, a matter of steps from the sea.
Posh resort
The resort was beautiful and staff very professional and service oriented. Definitely the place to stay in Grenada.
Beautiful location on island. Outstanding service in every way.
4th time visitor
well run family owned all-inclusive 'high end' resort right on the Grand Anse Beach with lovely helpful staff, wonderful food, excellent accommodation.
Great location and the staff could not be nicer
Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The rooms are large and comfortable. The hotel is located on a beautiful beach only 10 minutes from the airport (which you never hear). The beach chairs are nicely spread out under pretty trees or palapas and the pool is a nice alternative. As an all inclusive, the food is very good and in abundance. The hotel even offers to make whatever you want including lobster tails and chocolate chip pancakes for the kids. The staff arranged for a private snorkeling trip and provided information for a great tour guide (Mandoo). It was nice to be able to get bottled water, cocktails or wine whenever you wanted. The massage at the spa was also very good and we enjoyed the fitness center. We traveled with our 14 year old twin girls who were the youngest at the hotel, however the hotel accommodates couples or families. It's the most accommodating hotel we have been to (considering hundreds of hotels) where the owners are present every day and the staff couldn't be nicer. If you are looking for a lovely beach hotel this is it.
Fantastic. Service was beyond excellent. Absolutely one of the best resort experiences I’ve ever had.
Spectacular location- beautiful design- great
Loved Soice Island - an all inclusive food should be stepped up a bit drinks and wine selection were average but hotel amenities and star superb!
Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff
An architecturally beautiful Hotel with very comfortable Rooms made more wonderful by the friendleness and courtesy of the Staff. Can't wait to go back
Incredible Vacation
This resort, staff and its owners were awesome. We were pampered by an attentive and friendly staff that knew our names and used them at every encounter. If you truly want a stress free vacation and to be spoiled with delicious food, drinks, service and a quiet atmosphere, The Spice Island Beach Resort is the perfect place. We will definitely be back!
All-inclusive resort on a spectacular beach!
From the airport pick-up, to the front desk welcome and registration, to our room (Seagrape Beach Suite), to the meals, to the staff, to the spa, to the beach - all were amazing! The warmth and hospitality was intoxicating. When the cleaning staff saw that we used an inverted towel bin as a 'side' table, they brought us a 'side' table. When the cleaning staff saw that we hung a towel to block light from the bathroom skylight to the sleeping area, they removed the towel and hung up drapes. The attention to details is unrivaled.
Yes!
Worth every cent to have the pool suite. We spent many happy hours there
Best personal service. Know you by name.
Incredible view and access to Grand Anse Beach. Delicious meals. Best staff. Lovely resort.
A very special place for a stress free vacation
What Spice Island Beach Resort manages to do, almost uniquely well, is combine all the ingredients imaginable for a vacation ideal to recover from the stress of everyday life. And to do it consistently well. We stayed for a week and in that time every aspect of the service was faultless and delivered with a smile by a team who really seemed to care that we had what we wanted. And the owning family was always visibly present. From the greeting as arrived to when we were waved off, all was super efficient whilst being warm and friendly. Aside from all the things you expect from a top class establishment there were little touches such as fresh slices of Aloha Vera appearing in our room when we returned from an outing with a couple of irritable insect bites. Apparently nearly 6 in 10 guests were return visitors and it's not hard to see why. The Sea Grape suite really did open onto the beach with the magic of dawn and sunset. The suite was comfortable and spotless, and serviced twice daily. The food was extremely good from the fresh and varied breakfasts to the superbly done evening meals - the major difficulty being the tendency to overeat. House wines included in the inclusive deal were perfectly adequate and plentiful. Cocktails were lovely from the fruit punches we took a liking to during the day to some delicious rum based ones we chose after sundown. The front desk sorted interesting excursions so we got all round Grenada - nutmeg, rum, chocolate and rainfore
AMAZING STAY!
Our stay at Spice Island was truly amazing. The staff and owners were quite hospitable and accommodating. It is truly hard to put into words just how amazing this hotel is. From the moment we stepped out of our taxi we were in paradise. We stayed in the Sea Grape Suites with our room just steps from the ocean. The room #35 was located perfectly at the resort, was well appointed and beautifully decorated. Our maid Linda was friendly and kept the room extremely clean. Every employee we encountered during our stay treated us like family and seemed genuinely interested in us. The cuisine was amazing and the chef had a creative menu each night. Soups were incredible, fabulous fresh sorbets, fresh fish with island spices, savory desserts and one of the best cheeseburgers I have ever had. The drinks were a heavy "pour" and the bartenders quite friendly. My husband came down with a virus during our stay and the staff checked on him several times a day offering to help in anyway possible. And eventually helping us to locate a doctor. We highly recommend this resort for the accommodating staff, beautiful grounds and for the convenience of staying 30 steps from the ocean.
Splendid!
This place is top notch in every aspect. The service is the best it can possibly be. The grounds are picturesque. The food is above and beyond great. Top shelf liquor. I have traveled the carribean extensively and this place is far beyond anywhere i have stayed. Nothing bad to say in any area and the water for the shower was HOT which i loved. The rooms are fabulous.
Treated like royalt
From the moment we arrived we were in love with Spice Island Beach Resort. Our room opened up to the most beautiful beach. We were waited on daily. The food was delicious and so gourmet. We wanted for nothing all week. The staff was kind and genuine. Should be on everyone's bucket list.
Amazing
SIBR accommodated our every need. The food was always freshly prepared and delicious. The beach was pristine and heavenly!
Superb location great facilities and service
Our beachfront room (free upgrade) was magnificent, there is no seaweed buildup on the beach (as now is happening on windward Caribbean/Mexican Yucatan beaches) the owners and staff are extremely attentive - the only issue is that the food is not as superlative and the wines available on the all inclusive list could be expanded and improved - I have been to all the mainline hotels on Grand Anse - this is the best by far!
What a marvelous hotel
We came to Spice Island Resort after a week on a Windjammer. The setting and the service were excellent.Everything was easy, from check-in through check-out. We stayed in a Sea Grape Suite, with lounge chairs that afforded us a nice view of the sea. Spice Island is perfect for a quiet vacation, "away from it all." We really enjoyed the Steel Pan Band on Friday evening. The staff was totally attentive to all of our needs. Meals were delicious and they were aware of my need to eat gluten-free. If there were not so many other places in the world to visit, we would go back to Spice Island Resort in a heartbeat.
Probably one of the best hotels we have stayed in.
This is probably one of the best hotel we have stayed in. Everything was fabulous, even to the family seeing you off when you leave. It is not cheap but you do get what we paid for.
breathtaking beach
A fantastic getaway with an incredible beach! Make sure you book the ocean front rooms. The food is excellent, especially the presentation. The staff is wonderful, service is excellent. We had a wonderful week
Everything was excellent. Had a great time. Would recommend to everyone and come back again.
