Great decor and welcoming

It was a lovely stay!

The hotel was very clean and the room was a very comfortable size. The breakfast offered a variety of items and the staff was helpful in filling requests for coffee and tea. The bed was very comfortable and when we asked for non-feather pillows, the staff was very accommodating.

The front desk staff and the breakfast staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Our room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable, albeit small, however we spent most of our time outdoors therefore room size was not of significant concern. The hotel's location was in a quiet neighbourhood with close proximity to transportation and local sites. The complimentary breakfast was much more fulsome than we expected, and well-beyond a typical continental breakfast. We did experience one very unusual event shortly after checking in. When we were in our room for a brief rest, a member of the housekeeping staff (we presume, although we didn't actually see the individual) knocked on our door and entered our room before we had a chance to respond. After she opened the door, we called out to her and she indicated that she was conducting "mini-bar control" (even though we had just check-in and the room was fully cleaned and the bar re-stocked. We did report the incident to the front desk and subsequently placed the "do not disturb" sign on our door for the remainder of our stay.

The hotel had a certain unique Swiss feel to it - it did not feel like part of a global chain. It was very conveniently located - in a quiet neighborhood which was close to major attractions like the Zurichsee Lake, China Garden and the Opera House. One thing which puzzled me, but was not really a drawback, was that my room did not look anything like the one on the Expedia site, which I had booked. The room I booked looked more spacious and loft-like. On the other hand I had a tiny balcony, which I did not expect (not much of a view though). We had two single beds joined together, while the picture seems to show one Queen sized bed. The room felt a little cramped. The bathroom was disproportionately large.

Nice location. I had a cute renovated suite. Cozy, but well thought out. I was very happy in my suite. No treadmill. Small gym. Hotels in Zurich in a good location do not seem to have good gyms. Very cute hotel. Nice staff.

Tiny awkward room

They gave us a tiny room, I asked for a different room but this is the one they give Hotel.com clients, maybe one person could have stayed there comfortably, hard to avoid bumping into the bed or awkward built-in furniture. Breakfast was nice.

Top floor = top shelf!

This was the last hotel stay in Switzerland (second in weekend in Zürich which bookended a work week in Basel) and it was lovely. I was looking for something different from the hustle and bustle of the main train station and near Zürich See and this completely fit the bill. Top floor room (with air con as I did my research - which was great as it was unusually hot in mid-sept @30C) with a balcony and great views of Grossmunster twins in the distance from the balcony and a sliver of Zürich See from the rooftop deck! The room was HUGE by European standards and I had a lovely bath on my last night of the trip. Breakfast was good but I missed the morning of my flight home (but they let me nick a few pastries on my way out before they were set up). Front desk people were very nice and helpful. Just remember to let patrons know that they have to take the elevator to the 5th door and walk up the last flight to the 6th floor! Otherwise, a great stay for a decent price; lovely and delightful.

During the past year, my husband and I have been travelling considerably through Europe.This hotel room was probably the best we’ve seen so far. Every little detail has been considered. The room we were allocated was large and had an unusual amount of storage space. The bed was super comfy and there was plenty of options to sit. It even had a tiny balcony. The service was quick and efficient. The personnel was friendly and courteous. Breakfast was perfect and, oh, before I forget, we were travelling with an 11 year old Golden Retriever.

Quiet Area

Typical small room, but very efficient. My only complaint is that the AC did not work in my room. Otherwise a nice hotel in a nice location.

It is my third time to stay in the hotel and I like the location and area. Staff at the bar area and restaurant are cheerful and nice. Unexpected incidence was that during my checkout the receptionist guy asked me if I will pay in cash or credit card. During my trip to Switzerland I visited many cities and did my hotels reservations through Expedia. Some of the whic I payed in full prior my trip ond some of which I will pay at arrival. I thought Seefeld is the one I didn’t pay. Back to the receptionist, I did payed him cash. While I was waiting the taxi I checked my account in Expedia and found out that I did pay. I went back to him and got my money. He apologized for the mistake but as I know this a vital mistake and things should be very clear for him in the computer. Otherwise, the stay was goog and I hope the hotel Admin. will draw the attention to the receptionist not to have such a vital mistake like this.

Great location in Zurich. Close to the main square

I arrived on crutches and the hotel staff was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was great, as was the food in the evening, which was a bonus as I couldnt walk very far.

Great Hotel, Great Staff and Great Location

Wonderful hotel to stay in. Rooms are small as is the European tradition but everything is very up to date and modern. Tram runs right in front of hotel so easy to get on and go anywhere. Just 2 short blocks to walk and you are at the River and a beautiful river walk.

Great location to city centre

Very welcoming on arrival, managed to book in 2 hours before which made it much easier to explore the city. Buffet Breakfast was excellent, food fresh and plenty of choice. All staff very attentive and helpful

Nice Hotel in perfect location

Hotel is 2 blocks from the lake and directly on the tram line for quick access to old town and the main train station. Hotel was very clean, if not a bit spartan. The entire staff was the friendliest and most helpful we've ever experienced anywhere. Breakfast was wonderful, and the dining staff very accommodating and friendly. I could rate this hotel a 5 except for he lack of air conditioning. We were told they were working on it, but it never happened, and we had to keep the balcony door and window open to avoid the heat. Great hotel for the money, but maybe not for the summer months.

Cool hotel in a great location

Great little hotel in a quiet neighbourhood. The lake is just two blocks away. You can easily walk to the city center in less than 10 minutes. My room was very clean and nicely decorated. The only negative was that the AC did not seem to work when I got to my room late at night. Breakfast was super. The people at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful.

The room was very small. I have stayed at this location, so this was a surprise. Otherwise as expected.

Okay stay / convenient location

The hotel is very conveniently located: 1) 1 min walk from tram stations; 2) 8 min walk from Stadelhofen train station; and 3) 20 min train away from the Zurich airport (4 train stations away). Best of all, the beautiful Zurich lake is literally just 1 block away from the hotel, and you could see this unbeatable view of the lake (and the snow mountain if you come at the right time) and relax around the area. Staff are quite friendly and breakfast (included for my stay) was okay as well, with a good variety of cold cuts, yoghurts, pastries, etc. I picked the most basic room option and the room and the bed really are quite small. TV didn't work at first but someone came and fixed it right away. The hotel would be an okay choice if you're just looking for a place to sleep at night but not recommended if you're looking for anything more comfortable.

A great surprise

I was not expecting much as a 3 star was posted on this one, but I enjoyed the stay. The friendliness and availability of hotel staff was something that impressed me, and I am somebody who travel a lot. So congratulation to whoever made it possible.

Close to Old City

The hotel is very close to metro, tram and Old City. The reception staff are super, especially Lisa. They were very attentive to our needs and helped w ideas of places to visit and how to get there. Latina and Sina, were also helpful. Great breakfast and staff of bar area were great. Like the welcome email and the other I received upon departure.

No sleep in Zurich

It was September and the weather was warm. My room was on the 2nd floor and since the hotel has no air conditioning, I had to attempt to sleep with the windows open. One building away from the hotel is a restaurant and since I was on the 2nd floor, it sounded like I was sleeping in the middle of the kitchen floor! The warmth of the room coupled with the noise ensured I slept very little. I've traveled the world and this was probably one of the worst stays I've had. On my second day I tried to arrange for a couple of tours. The hotel employee who helped me seemed bothered that I was asking her to do so. Not only was she unfamiliar with how to do the tours, but when I asked questions, she frustratingly grabbed paper and pen to obtain the answers from the tour operators.

Good location for walking into centre

This hotel is in a good location and you can walk to many areas of the city. There are also tram stops nearby. Breakfast had a reasonable choice and the hotel was clean. However, the pillows are very thin and lumpy and the beds quite hard, so if softer beds are important to you don't stay here. Also note that this hotel does not have air conditioning, but their own air cooling system which was not as efficient as A/C so room was a little hot at night.

Very nice, affordable hotel, conveniently located

I had an excellent stay at the Hotel Seefeld. I decided to cab to the hotel after arriving early in the morning on an overnight flight from the US -- about 65 Swiss Francs (about $70). The staff who greeted me told me that it would be easier to take the train back to the airport (take the S16 to Stadelhoffen and then walk or take the tram about .5 miles down Seefeld Street), and it would cost about ($7). The staff also immediately set me up with an available room, so I could get a nap. This is not a luxury hotel, i.e., no one running to grab your bags and carry them for you and then expecting a tip, but it is a nice hotel. The lobby is right next to the front door, as is the bar, where you eat breakfast. My room was very modern, and the only downside was the bed, which was comfortable, but consisted of two mattresses next to each other -- it would not be ideal for romance. Being required to insert your door key into a wall slot to operate the lights also takes some getting used to, but at least it made it difficult to lose your room key when you were in your room. Breakfast was included in the price we paid, and it was good -- a buffet that included scrambled eggs, yogurt, cheese, some sandwich meet, breads, juices, coffee/tea, and croissants. Once I was settled into the hotel, downtown was a short walk/tram away, and there were many great restaurants nearby. Overall an excellent experience while on a business trip.

Seefeld is a wonderful place to stay

This is an updated hotel in a wonderful trendy neighborhood. Very convienent to the city, the trams and the trains. Hotel staff was extremely helpful, breakfast was tasty. Surrounded by many delicious restaurants, a short walk to the lake.

Deluxe zimmer mit terrasse im 6.stock. Ruhig, sauber, sehr stylisch eingerichtet. Bequemes bett, whirlpool. Freundlicher empfang. Überschaubares, aber gutes frühstück allerdings due brötchen zu conviniens.

Tolles Hotel in sehr guter Lage. Die Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet, das Bett ist weder zu hart, noch zu weich und auf dem Zimmer gibt es eine Kaffee und Teestation. In direkter Gegend gibt es einige Restaurants und einen Supermarkt. Zum See ist es auch nur zwei Blöcke entfernt. Im Hotel selber gibt es ein gutes Frühstück was alles hat was man braucht, jedoch nur ein ausgewähltes Angebot hat
