This place is in the middle of nowhere! 1 towel, no glasses, no ice, no soap, no kettle, basically a dump! Needs upgrades and renos!
Staff was absolutely awesome! And honestly for the property it self, you are getting what you are paying for, was the cheapest option in the area, there for not a great sleep.
It is about 1970 bathroom was awful the sink i had to bend over it was about 24 inches of the floor and not straight
Shabby. Uninhabitable place.
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in many. Right from the miserable check in guy through to the room which appeared to have been furnished with items from goodwill or value village. The floor in our room was moving due to its unevenness. I caught my foot on an exposed edge of the floor. . I went to explain our concerns to the owner but there was no one there for me to speak with. If I would of spoke then we were going to leave due to the deplorable condition of the motel
It was an uneventful stay, not good and not bad. For the money I really have nothing unexpected to complain about. It was an economical place to rest for a night. The checkin could be better documented, i arrived at 10:00 and nobody was there, nothing was on the reservation page that said anything about late checkin. Somebody came in 20 minutes and checked me in.
The place could use a complete renovation
Old and filthy
Don't be fussy on clean, if you stay check first under the bed..We found used condoms. Yucky, Surprise. The bathroom needs cleaning from top to bottom. The bathtub needs to be professionally cleaned, as well as the walls. The best thing is dogs are allowed and the price to stay is the best for budget watchers
Way too dirty with lots of bugs, dont know how a place like this can be even able to operate, isnt there health and safety inspections amymore!!
1. Photos much better than the actual 2. All suites entrances @ top were covered by spiders and their net, even seen in the bathroom 3. Washroom was size of kids ! 4. Bathtub and faucets were old style, and some stains on them 5. No coffee maker in the suite 6. Microwave minimum size 7. Fridge located on the desk ! 8. They were not ready for check-in . Waited 15 mibutes for front to come over, since no front after 8 pm. Also, room was warm and no towel at the beginning.
I would say this motel has not been updated since the 1950’s. The bathroom fixture were blue and chipped. I slept on top of the bedspread because I could feel the springs when I laid on the sheets. The lock on the door was a push lock that anyone could break. If you went out and didn’t lock it from inside it did not lock. I had to back to the office and ask for towels. There was actually nothing in the room. Worst place I’ve stayed in my life.
Overall very run down. About an inch of dust on the ceiling fan. The seal around the ancient tub and sink broken. Around the base of the toilet was filthy. We knew it was an older property and didn’t have high expectations, but this was much worse than I expected.
Vraiment pas wow
Service ok, odeur et propreté terrible. Vraiment le strict minimum
The expedia itinerary said check in at 4 and out at noon. When I arrived, the place was locked up completely. When I called to ask, I was told that check in was 5 but they would get somebody there as soon as possible, but traffic was heavy. At 5:00 somebody walked out of the house (I saw no car drop anybody off) in his slippers. I felt like I'd been lied to, that they had no intention of opening before their own plan of 5:00. Then their check in paperwork said check out was 11:00, not noon as stated on Expedia. I didn't feel that they treated my honestly.
TV didn't work. The place was cold so i turned the heat on, the heaters never got hot.
good
If you cant do better...
Probably the cheapest stay in Fredericton area. Service is ok, staff is friendly. The room though.... There is mold in the tiles joints of the shower/bath. You actually wonder how some tiles still hold up, it's a little gross. We found a silverfish running on the bed after wehad put on the bed a bagpackthat was shortly left on the floor. After that we left nothing on the floor! The bed was clean and decent, there was a fridge and a microwave and that was convenient. The tv sensor was broken but we managed with the single button on the tv. There was no hdmi cable to link the cable with the tv at first but the employee came right away to bring one as well as the towells that were forgotten. The paint in all the room was fresh(it still smelled latex) and from the state of the washroom we wondered what it was hiding. Honestly if you are very thight on budget and you remain "careful", go for it but if you can pull a little more money I suggest you go elsewhere! (Room 102)
there were no towels
The clothes on top of mattress they gave it’s too old.
It was our only option closeby but for the price you pay, it is a bed but very uncomfy, room had 3 different lights but only one worked, no towels (nothing fir showering) or any extra toilet paper, the lock on the door was a simple door lock and you could hear everything from outside. Wish they also had a key drop or whatever when the office isnt open because we just left it in the room. It is simply a room to crash if you have no other open options or dont have much money for a night stay.
Ask for early check in
I had to call for him to come for my check-in. The floor was sticky . No plug in for the tub. Heater did not work in the bathroom. He had to come get the tv to work, shut it off at night, but did not work in the morning. The owner was nice, but needs better service .
Room was so dirty and smelly. There were alcohol, beers left in the refrigerator as we got in. Not clean at all.
Good area
Bath shower didn't work, most water would only come out of the tub faucet even after I switched to overhead. Mattress was filthy. I could bring myself to actually sleep on it and rolled up in the bed covers instead. I heard animals in the building, in the ceiling or behind the walls, Raccoon or possums. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this was really the worst place I've stayed in Canada. The owners really need to do some basic maintenance or shut down.
Not enough toilet paper. Many mosquitos in the room
Quite area and very nice staff.
One night stay
Outside of motel needs work especially the roof….no leaks though. Room was clean….shower was ok lots of hot water. Nice new mini fridge with freezer and microwave which I wasn’t expecting…so that was a bonus. Quiet area….easy checkin and drop box for key in early morning checkout. I would stay here again
i come on here to warn anyone who may be thinking about staying at norfolk… TO NOT!!! don’t let the picture fool you! me and my partner booked this place because it’s looked half decent and the price was wonderful… but boy were we wrong! first we started in room 110 seemed okay…had a odd smell but nothing we couldn’t handle… until, the place was crawling with spiders and if that wasn’t bad enough, when i turned to check the bed i found sprained blood on the bedding.. like come on! the door was kicked in and wouldn’t lock.. so i went to the office and asked if they could change my room…they did..124 but it wouldn’t of mattered anyways the next room was just as bad,if not worst… awful experience… after explaining this to the staff they laughed and said they don’t do refunds..we hadn’t even been there for 2hr.. but i was more then willing to throw away 100..to never step foot there again… absolutely horrible don’t recommend to no one…dangerous place for your health…but i will say for anyone who is stuck like we were try sliverwood motel wonderful spot..we so relieved to lay and rest without thinking there could be bugs all over me! 17/08/23
Poor property conditions, possible bed bugs, stained sheets - severely lacking cleanliness. We ended up leaving and getting a hotel elsewhere because it was so terrible. Picture displayed on website looks like it was taken 20 years ago.
This property was horrific. There was hair in the sheets and all through the bathroom and tub. The fridge had a really horrible smell. There is mold all around the bathtub and the place is severely outdated. This was a horrible experience. There was garbage and used Qtips outside of our door and the tub had rings in it as if someone bathed in it before we checked in.
The rooms smelled like a sewer problem and I didn’t feel comfortable even having a shower . The area was pretty clean but sure didn’t feel it the bedding was really old looking not very inviting 😞
.
Old furniture..no fridge…no table… yellow washroom equipment…burnt floor in bathroom. Will never go back there
While the room was clean and slightly larger than I expected, there was no continental breakfast, which is something that is important to me. Also, the motel is located a little farther away from the downtown area than I thought it was. It was also difficult to see the sign for the motel from the road, especially at night since it wasn't as brightly lit up as I expected it to be. Overall my stay was good, and I would stay there again given that the price is very reasonable.
Room unclean. Chair in room old, ripped and torn. Belonged in a dump
This was a very old motel. Mattresses were like sleeping on a hardwood floor. 1/2roll of toilet paper housekeeping never came inn3 days. Could hear the conversations etc.. of people in room next door. The soap the person who stayed in the room before me was stuck in the tub. Doubt it was cleaned
Staff are friendly!
My room was neat and clean… lady at the front desk was very helpful!
It wasn't too bad of a place to stay for the money. The beds were quite hard, and the tub had a few silverfish in it, but aside from that it was clean when we went in. The owner and her daughter (?) seemed quite nice. If you temper your expectations based on the price, it was good enough!
Room was dirty not clean service was poor, shower curtain missing hookes and busted hooks ,not adequate towels bed sheets on one bed was dirty could not put anything on bathroom shelf as it was slopping downward
It was okay, not good or bad. Just needed a bed to sleep for the night. Wouldn’t stay there again.
Great for a place to sleep, outside was untidy
Definetly not amazing. Rather outdated. lots of dust bunnnies under the bed and the floor was sticky. I wiped the floor with wet paper towel and it was black. Used travel info from other travelers still in room. Broken up raman noodles in drawer of dresser. Bathroom was reasonably clean..although loose tiles on wall. fixups repquired as well as walls need cleanng and maybe a paint job. However: we were pleased that we had a micro wave and a small fridge. Beds also comfortable and pillows were comfortable as well. Had a good night sleep every night. I heard the place had recently been sold..so the new owners maybe have not yet gotten to all the repairs that need to be done.

This property needs to be updated.
It was not clean. It had dried blood on the bedspread.A cigarette burn in the bed spread. It looked like it's not been dusted for awhile. The shower curtain was gross. Slippery tub. 1 roll of toilet paper. Had to go but some at the store. Non refundable which is very dumb. I'll never stay there again.
We were looking for a clean and comfortable room for one night. The Norfolk Motel fit the bill. However the tub was very slippery when showering. Both my husband and I slipped. I twisted my already painful back condition. Also, the water taps did not shut off properly. Lighting needs to be changed so bulbs are not glaring in your eyes. The owner and her son were very friendly and helpful. For that I give them top marks.
The staff was very accommodating
No power during the mid-night. No boby in the office this morning, we can’t feedback anything to staff.
No proper lighting
Clean and air conditioned. Dated. One night stay for tired travellers was fine. Easy drive to beautiful downtown.
We typically stay here when we come to fredericton as we dont mind the space. But the price is good. The rooms are small for the average person and not really well maintained. The air conditioner didnt have an off or low setting and made the room like a fridge. The shower couldnt gold proper temperature and either scalded us or froze us. It is as much as you would expect from a 2.5 star hotel.
Was okay clean in main room...no key to door..broken bathroom floor etc ,broken air-conditioning, unsafe ceiling fan....old and needs overhaul...staff civil
Very loud AC, but late check in was no problem

This hotel was very convenient, being close to highways and downtown. It appears that they are doing some renovations which will make this hotel more appealing
We were able to conveniently park our vehicle right outside the door, which was great. The room was pleasant, but a bit noisy as some of the other guests were a bit noisy. Otherwise, our stay was very pleasant.
No one there when we arrived. No note on door. Ok place. I was concerned for ladies beside us. They were charged a $100 cash deposit on top of their rental fee. they had no pets. The next morning they went to get the deposit. Owners would not answer the door. I wonder about the owners treatment of clients. Does Expedia condone this kind of neglect of service ??
Clean, well run facility
Two things I didn't like about the hotel. When I arrived shortly after 9 p.m., the reception was already closed, with the phone number of the receptionist posted on the door. But coming from the United States, my phone didn't work. Eventually, another guest was so nice to call the receptionist who helped me with the room and then left again. The other let-down was the room which had quite a few mosquitoes in it...
Convenient location
very dated and run down need some improvements
Bed was comfy, short-sheeted tho. Hot water took for ever. Had to wait for towels and only one light in the room. Service was great, but no one in the office meant waiting. Needs paint, plaster, a raking, lights and TV remotes that work.
Bad experience
Worst place I've seen so far, dirty and old. No TV in our room, blood stain on the floor, it look like the floor was not swept and washed, bathroom was gross. There was a cot in the corner of a room with an old dirty foam mattress. We didn't even stayed there 15 minutes, we left and went to another hotel. They don't refund, you have to pay when you book, don't waste your money there.
The room reaked of cigarrettte smoke, there were no towels, and the TV didn't work. Also the room next door likely had some drug dealers who had people coming and going till the early morning.
Old and stinks
It is closed to trafic area a little
Bugs in the bathroom
Nice place to stay
The bathroom had no separate heater, or a plug for the bathtub , which I found very inconvenient. Check in took a while, but the owner was very nice
Great service, basic but comfortable room.
the keys to one of our rooms opened the door to another room. Other than that, we loved staying at the Norfolk Motel!
Ghetto
Ghetto. Found bugs under the mattress cover, sheets seemed clean (could smell the bleach) but still didn't chance it with the bugs. Gross!!
No bedside lamps, no clock, needs to be cleaner, smells of smoke. Would not be my choice to stay there again. Denied breakfast due to the price I paid.
Traveling with a family of five we arrived at 9:30pm and found very dirty sheets on our beds. It was too late to demand a refund as we needed sleep after 9 hours of road travel. Gravel, soil, unidentifiable insects and heavily stained sheets. Really!! We travel each summer and look for modest accommodations, we felt taken advantage of. A very disappointing stay.
Decent hotel
Comfortable stay
Easy access but there was a smell in the room then was displeasing, and the bathroom was run down, some upgrades r truly needed
First impressions are important from human interactions to appearances to professionalism. And this place took a dive to Mariana trench of disappointment. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all cost.
The washroom is not clean. The sheets are very wrinkled which have me questioning if they have been washed. The air quality is very poor. Ideal for smoker but not for my family.
Terrible
This was the worst motel we stayed in on all of our trip, The room was old and needed repairs to the washroom, very old and falling apart THe bedspread was worn out, the pillows were flat like pancakes Would not recommend it to anyone
Cigarette burns on the bed sheets. Clearly a smoking room though I wasn't told that would be the case. Horrible lighting, so bright we could be seen plainly through the curtain - no actual privacy. Ancient TV with remote that had dead batteries. Not cheap enough to be such a dead end motel.
I did not like a 5:30 p.m. check in. On the internet, it advertised 2:00 p.m. The room was substandard, 60s furniture, hard mattress. I would not dream of putting my clothing in the few drawers provided. Mold around the tub. Very dirty floors in the room. I dropped something and wiped it up with a serviette to find it black with dirt. The light switch by the door had tape over it. There was no security lock, only a small turn know lock on the handle. No hair dryer. Remote control for TV did not work. Price advertised on line did not indicate US funds.so the total cost was only $20 less than a 3-4 start hotel down the road where I stayed before. Breakfast was a farce... watered down orange juice, small one-bite sugar donuts from a grocery store, corn flakes or fruit loops. That is not breakfast. The only good thing about my stay is that the towels and sheets were clean. I am going to advise Trip Advisor of the terrible condition and service of this motel. If my fee had not been non-refundable, I would have walked out when I arrived.
Scammers and dirty shit hole
Kept my deposit for no reason
Power of at night no service available bad smell in the room just a kitchen chair in the room room was not clean for the price all of them to expensive
This motel is very disappointing. As we entered parking lot , there was garbage strewn about and building itself is showing signs of disrepair. As we entered the room , it was horrifying to say the least . There is only a knob lock , that doesn't work properly . The safety lock has been removed. The bedspreads and blankets were old and had holes. There was something in the dresser drawers , white things , ? Maggots? Not sure. The bathroom was a horror show. The door didn't fully close, and was in hard shape. I cannot guess the last time the floor was swept or cleaned. The beds were highly uncomfortable and loud. And I mean loud. You couldn't move without it making these huge creaking sounds. The pillows were old and in need of replacement a long time ago. Not all rooms have fridge , most dont have microwave. But that is a good thing. Trust me. Our room had a fridge.... but it hasn’t been cleaned.... Ever. It had mold. The window had mold. We all agreed we felt like we were in a horror movie :(. But the room was paid for so we had no choice but stay . We left before 8 am , and so did everyone else. Repeat business has to be nonexistent !! Word to the wise : DO NOT STAY HERE
Price was right. Place was dated although it was all we needed.
DIRTY!
I drove in from niagaea falls Ontario was just looking for somewhere to sleep a few hours to get back on the road got my room THE BED WAS REMADE bathroom not clean blood on the carpet! DISGUSTING they didn't want to refund me until I threatened to contact the health and safety on them dont reccomend them at all a dirty property stay in your car or a tent your better off
It’s a nice place to stop if your not fussy which we weren’t but definitely a little disappointed, but you get what you pay for.
Would not stay again
There was no soap in the bathroom and they use a flat sheet as a fitted sheet, which never works and you end up on the mattress which gives me the heebie jeebies
Completely unable to check in.
Check in was supposed to be at 5:30, but the room was not ready. We waited for three hours and then left. At least one other couple was unable to check in either and they had been on the road all day. All they offered was excuses which were difficult to understand because their English was not good. Very unsatisfactory service...we need a refund.
It's a good place to stay especially for the price. The room we got had recebtly been redone so it was nice and clean. Although this is not a reflexion of the owners or the property, if you have the misfortune of staying there at the same time as inconsiderate neighbors, your stay will not be a pleasant one. As with many if not all of these kinds of places, you can hear everything in the rooms around you.
Best bang for your buck by far Clean comfortable rooms Friendly family run staff On a budget you cannot do better!
Norfolk is a place to stay if you need a cheap motel for a xoup The rooms are very outdated. I stayed there twice and each time I had issues with getting my deposit money back.
Quiet place service was good overall .had everything in the room i needed .
Bed was very uncomfortable and people who live there are quite loud
Service was good, room was very dirty. Location was ok.
It was close to where I need to be and it was cheap. Was not very clean, the refrigerator didn’t work and the bathroom heater didn’t work
Various types of rooms
I stay in their "worker" section, which supplies basic needs, including a microwave, and also a small fridge if you request it.. But there are available very nice rooms with 2 double beds, suitable for a family. Wi-fi is available, TV also.
Very nice close to highways and University. Friendly staff.
Everything was ok considering the price but it was very hard to get ahold of
