Very good location for my work, good wifi, food, security, service. Recommended.
Was great
I travel for work all over the world and I rarely leave a review that’s this bad for a hotel but this one is deserved. There are some nice young people who work there but the management is terrible, it is disorganized, the staff are poorly trained, and if you have another option, I’d avoid this hotel. When I was sick from food poisoning from the hotel food I called down to the front desk three times to ask for water over a period of hours and no one bothered to bring me any. They mopped the floor and didn’t properly mark it and I slipped and fell and injured myself. If you stay here, you’re basically captive. There isn’t any food beyond the hotel. The staff doesn’t know what’s going on. At one point I called down to the front to find out how late they serve breakfast on the weekend and was told 10. It was actually 1130. And the front desk was 15 feet from the restaurant. I see no excuse for such a poorly managed property.
I truly thank all the staff working there for making our stay peaceful.
Perfect
I give it 5 stars, thanks to the kind service particularly from the two ladies at front desk (shout out to Agnes!). They were very accommodating and helpful, always solution oriented, kind and respectful. Location wise - the hotel is close to many of the offices I needed to visit which was convenient.
Very high standard of rooms and food service here. Great poolside bar/cafe and very nice pool. Breakfast is great with lots of options. Area around the hotel is busy but close to government offices and accessible to downtown and for the routes out of town.
Great location, friendly staff, great restaurant and pool area.
We like staying in the New Brookfields Hotel. The staff is professional, the amenities are consistent and nice, and the restaurant has good food.
Very helpful staff
The staff are very kind and attentive; the manager is very professional and bilingual French/ English; and the breakfasts include fresh fruit and buffet. Since we were working nearby, we could walk.
Great hotel
Great trip. Was staying for business. Couldn't ask for any more. Fantastic staff, lovely food and great hotel!
I have booked a Deluxe room but was given a basic standard room. They said they did not have more rooms available! No compensation. Breakfast is very poor.
Amazing hotel. Great, friendly staff. Amazing hospitality. The facility was always very clean and the food was amazing! I would highly recommend staying here.
Good place to stay in Freetown
The hotel is quite good. Staff are courteous. There were some water leaks during heavy rains, so consequently, some rooms need minor repairs. The hotel restaurant would do well to be sure that items on the menu are actually available. Overall, would definitely recommend this hotel for visitors to Freetown.
The staff were very friendly
The receptionist was very rude. Never greeted me on my arrival. Said very little to me as to whether room was ready or not. She had a nasty disposition and I wonder how a hotel like this would allow someone like her to be the first person you encounter. Upon checkout I met same lady and she never said thank you or try to find out how my stay was. Unacceptable in this kind of business. She should not be working there. But I was not surprised, the manager or supervisor was there as well on the phone chatting. During check out the clerk and the manger could not operate the credit card machine. They were both clueless as to how it works. So I paid them in cash. Yet still nor the manager or clerk said thank you or anything. Very rude. During my stay water was cut off for several hours with no notice. I called the front desk and they told me tank was being cleaned. Water never returned. I left and went to a friend's place to shower. There is a tourism school next door and I don't think they hire people from there or people who have hotel experience.
Great place to stay for easy access to the city.
The hotel was clean, the staff very helpful and friendly. The location was central with easy access to nearly everywhere even with the chronic traffic issues of Freetown. Will definitely stay again and certainly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, central hotel.
Great choice
Friendly staff, clean, and reasonably priced.
Clean room, constantly cleaned. Amazing breakfast. Great ambience. Easy connection to the city...its a historical place too...that is the building of the Internal Sepecial court where the former war criminals were tired...
Better options on the ocean
Arrived at 4am but my colleague who arrived at a decent time realized that the linen were not changed. Did not check mine as was half asleep. The breakfast is 4/5 with omelette/eggs fried plantain and sausages as hot items Cereals fruits and pastries as cold items Coffe tea and juices/squashes free flowing Room comfortable with 2hard and 2 soft pillows Exchanging money especially low denomination not reckoned No excursions possible. Room door needs to be slammed waking all floor otherwise does not lock WiFi on but poor
They changed my room without notifying me first and moved my stuff. Then my shaver and hair wax went missing. I complained about it but all they said was just sorry. No offer about trying to find them , replacement nor compensation
highly recommended - female solo traveller
hotel staff and manager are excellent. great place to stay, especially for female solo travellers. i extended my stay twice. i felt very comfortable in this hotel. enormous breakfast and choice in the morning. very convenient to meetings.
Good value
Overall it was a nice hotel for the price paid. Wish the cold water was colder and not lukewarm as sometimes in hot weather,it would be nice to have a COLD shower. Restaurant staff was very attentive especially Emma. One minor problem I had was that I was not replenished with a bottle of water everyday as stated in my hotel booking. I was told u only get bottled water on your first night of stay. When I extended my stay for 2 more nights, I was told no water but I explained to them it was a new booking and they gave me a big bottle of water....I suggest on your hotel information that you clarify the bottled water situation. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay...Will be staying here next time I am in Freetown.
Hotel review!
I stayed there during my recent visit to Freetown. I didn't regret my choice, excellent staff, professional, courteous and overall quality service. Ancillary services i:e cleaning, laundry and restaurant we're excellent. Front desk staffing were even better . Thanks to the management and his staff for making me feel @ home during my visit. Hope to see you guys again for my next trip.
Very nice hotel.
Extremely friendly staff and professional. Welcoming and caring. Clean and specious rooms. Quiet hotel.
Business hotel
A hotel for business Room excellent, with good TV, wifi, bathroom, well serviced It's a hotel for expats doing business of short or medium duration in Freetown, so don't expect amenties for relaxation. Indeed, the only lounge/bar is a small area at the end of the dining room; no pool, sauna, gym etc
A home away from home
Great facility and staff. Food was also outstanding. Clean room and nice cool AC. Felt safe and secured. Great location!
Excellent place to stay in Freetown
Room was spotless and included all amenities. Breakfast was good and staff welcoming. Check out took more time than i expected. And their credit card machine systematically asks for a pin number. My credit card doesn't require a pin, so i didn't have any pin number to put in. Had to pay with cash.
Great hotel!
This is my fifth time in Freetown, and third hotel. This was by far the best we've stayed in! The caring attitude of the owners trickles down to all the employees. Beds were great, power rarely went down and if it did came back on quickly, food was great! Will stay there next time!
Nice for Freetown.
Great hotel and I'll definitely go back, but upon checkout their credit card machine insisted I give a pin, which I shouldn't have to do on card with a chip. No one in staff knew what to do, nor did they apologize and I had to use cash to pay. Overall their local staff are pleasant but don't speak loudly enough and are definitely not proactive, looking for ways to serve. It's up to you to ask.
Good hotel - horrible surrounding
Rooms are very comfortable but no view and there is construction going on outside. Hotel has not many amenities and very stingy about providing and replacing used up toiletries. I changed my hotel after 4 days and moved to a better cheaper one.!
Classy, clean and friendly...New Brookfield
New Brookfields is like a diamond in the rough! I was totally impressed with the attentive staff. By day 2 they were calling me by name as"MamaSue" and making sure all my needs were met. The food was also amazing...from the catch of the day Tia fresh omelette made to order with a smile, you will be quite happy! The room was super comfortable with no noise and a really good mattress. The cleanliness was impeccable! Staying there was like an oasis of peace amongst a busy city!
Safe and good wi-fi
No fitness or business centers. But good wifi and clean, safe rooms. Comfy beds.
clean, comfortable, avg service & location
Comfortable hotel but a bit far from the centre. Bit expensive considering it doesn't have a pool or gym compared to other similar price hotels. Some staff are really good but others don't know what they're doing.
Comfortable good service
This is a good hotel very reasonable . However because of the road construction dusty outside. This hotel has great potential and I would recommend it.
superb and unexpected quality
Unexpected quality and value in this hotel, style and service worthy of any world city
All was perfect, super clean room. Beautiful swimming pool. Special mention to Khadija
Friendly staff
