Nice and quiet hotel tram outside at doorstep.
An Espresso machine was in the room but no pods . I’m sure they can afford to supply pods
Bed very comfortable and very quiet would stay there again
My partner had a early appointment at the alfred hospital only about a 300 meter walk from the hotel and the staff were more them accommodating for us to leave our car there untill the aternoon will not hesitate to stay again. Thank you
Great for what I needed for AFL Grand Final weekend
Very nice
Really enjoyed my stay, the room was nice, clean and quiet. The staff were also great and extremely friendly, they allowed me to leave my car parked for a few hours after I had checked so I could visit an exhibit at the nearby NGV. Top marks!
Great place to stay close to public transport St Kilda beach close to all that Melbourne City has to offer
-
The location is not too far from the city and easy excess with the tram.
The staffs were friendly and very helpful. The room was comfortable and their was plenty of options around
Great place to stay. Look forward to another visit.
Room was nice & clean, heater worked well Very comfortable bed, good size fridge etc No smoking on balcony, have to go out the front of the building and stand on the street. Paid for parking ($20) for the night, but didn’t realise my husband had found a car park out the front. He met me at reception and told me a few minutes after i had paid, I asked if we could get refund to my card for parking, but they wouldn’t do it.
Very nice place to stay , convenient position to get to things , excellent staff
It was good for my business trip
Very clean and quiet
Staff excellent
On the prettiest boulevard that leads to the heartbeat of the City.
They would of got excellent but they only clean rooms till 11 in the norning also tracks in showers need a clean
There was a persistent noise throughout the unit every approx. 15-20min, the shower was smaller than expected the shower leaked quite a fair bit
Great place to stay , clean friendly and happy help staff.
Everything was good 👍
I did not like the table set up in the restaurant. There were no individual tables to dine at, save for some round, unclothed tables, so I assume they were for people just drinking from the bar. The clothed "Dining" tables were smaller tables pushed together which sat 6 pax. So in other words, if you were less than 6 you would have to sit at these tables and then other people could sit there as well. To me, it was very much like "institutional" style seating arrangements, like a boarding school or even perhaps like a prison ( except they were clothed.) Overall especially considering the fairly amateur level of service I don't think it deserves a 4 star rating more like a 3 Stasr.
Naima
Construction is gong on behind so alot of dirt is thrown about. Overall a pleasant stay and one of the comfortable beds I've slept on
I loved how clean the room was. Our stay as enjoyable. Thankyou!
The staff were really professional and kind. The room was amazing and the pillows were unreal
safe
I found the diffuser fragrance in the hotel aggravated my sinuses and asthma. This was really strong and my breathing was impacted whilst in the building.
This hotel is great value for money, if you are in the right room. Our origonal room did not match what wethought we had booked, when the reception staff were approahed the bent over barkwards to resolve the issue to our satisfaction. The room was spacious, with kitchen facilities, shower cubical was small. Overall the room was clean and comfortable. Balcony had a lot of cobwebs. The rooms were not serviced daily even when notice was lft on door to do so, but this was addressed when raised in reception. There seems to be a lack of staff. This hotel is situated in an ideal spot with easy access to the tram service in to the city. It's within easy walking distance of St Kilda, Albert Park, Port of Melbourne. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, but there are several places near by to get an evening meal. The hotel has laundry facilities and a gym with static bikes, xtrainer, running machines and weight machines. Question: Would I stay here again - absolutely.
Faultless. Great base. Clean & comfortable would stay again.
I arrived at nearly 1am and it took 15 minutes of calling and ringing the doorbell before someone came. This could make some people feel unsafe. Outside the building is quite dark. The grass on the kerb is untidy and I couldn't find a rubbish bin anywhere which are just little things. The check in took approx 15 minutes so in total it was half an hour before I got into my room. The room was clean enough but clearly had not had a vacuum since the last guests stayed there. The worst part for me personally was the smell of an aftificial flower scent sprayed everywhere. It was noticeable from the moment I walked into the foyer. I am hyper sensitive to perfume so it gave me a headache. There was not a flower anywhere in sight! I have stayed here many times before (pre-covid) without any issues but this time was by far the least enjoyable. Otherwise the room was very quiet and the bed was clean and comfortable. Morning check-out staff were lovely. Thank you.
What a shocker- Ëntertaining Mr Faulty
What a shocker! Arrived to view a paramedic going in and out of the hotel with a gurney-what the?? After a day out a glass of red would be nice-no wine glasses. Asked for them to be sent up to room but didn't even get the room no. No glasses. Went back to service desk-glasses in restaurant-don't know which key fits- don't know code for alarm. Finally got glasses. Took them to room ourselves as couldn't rely on them being delivered. Be good after a day out to have a cleaned room. Wrong- no room make up on weekends! The touted restaurant is not open so a meal and a cocktail was out of the question! OK a nice shower after a day out is always good BUT shampoo dispensers don't work and basin plug leaks. Asked about dispensers and they were filled but if the machine doesn't work, more fuel won't make it go! Finally leaving at 10:00am BUT cleaning comes into the room at 8:45 am! If you want to see Faulty Towers in operation this is the place.
Good basic accommodation outside the CBD. Pity the restaurant is not open for sinner and has a fairly limited menu for lunch.
I stayed here to watch the Australian Open when hotel supply was a challenge. Its a Mercure property and it looked like one (i.e. typical 4-star hotel). The location was good but not optimal for the tennis. The surrounding area looked a little soul-less but felt very safe and there was a tram stop within a 2-minute walk. Room was clean and functional with most mod-cons one would need. Front desk staff all very courteous and helpful. I didn't use any facilities so can't comment on that.
Asked for more coffee told we had to pay for it. Never experienced that before. Breakfast was average on all 4 breakfasts was cold every time. Staff in the restaurant seemed like they didn’t want to be there. At the end of our stay they never asked how was your stay. Wouldn’t stay there again.
Loved the short stay I had. Staff were excellent to deal with and the near by eateries and bars made it a lovely trip with the wife. Would highly recommend
Nice Hotel 🔥
The staff were doing their best but the bathroom in my room was not very clean. There was hair on the floor, the basin was blocked and something (looked like makeup) was smeared all over the floor. The staff were helpful and it was convenient but maybe just needs a little more attention to cleaning.
Perhaps a non-slip floor in the shower , as very slippery bu otherwise great
No refund when we had to leave early.
Property was used as a weekend stay for Around the Bay in a Day bike ride. Property was an excellent choice. Very friendly staff and easy access to transport and Dining.
Lovely meal at the restaurant. The location was very good, near to The Alfred Hospital. Easy PT.
Bed bug
The overall stay was amazing but on the last night we found a bed bug in our room. I kept it in a bottle and gave it to the front desk, along with many photos. They still deny that it was a bed bug…we didn’t get bitten and only saw one. But their refusal to admit the matter is a worry. You be the judge…
Perfect staycation for me. Couldn’t fault ✔️✔️
We had a lovely stay highly recommend this to others.
What a beautiful hotel. Was very clean. Welcoming, the restaurant had many options for breakfast to choose from. Value for money. Would definitely stay again.
Great area & pricing.
The hotel has changed its name, please update wotif
The staff at the property were always available and happy to answer any questions I had. Very friendly and very polite as were the cleaning staff. An excellent place to stay and would highly recommend the property to others, as I have done already. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.
Ok the joining rooms you can hear ppl in the other room talk
Nice hotel
Everything at the hotel was fantastic except for when you lie on the bed and look up at the unpainted concrete slabs on the roof
It is clean, tidy and staff are friendly
Nice property, great location. Will definitely stay again. On-site parking was a nice touch
Clean and comfy rooms... with everything you need... world recommed
Stay was OK
The aircon vent was directly above the bed which didn't allow for good flow of air so I had to open the window. The bed was not the most comfortable.
We could have our dog with us, no problem at all. Very accomodating.
Friendly reception, clean and comfortable. The only thing I was unhappy about was to find the bedsheets underneath were soiled, and looked like it hadn’t been changed. The reception apologised and with a bit of patience, housekeeping came and changed all the sheets. Apart from that, I had a pleasant stay.
Nice and safe, very clean. Close walking distance to Hospital.
Great customer service. Had an early appointment so they extended our check out time so we didn’t have to rush.
Great room. Spacious, clean, well equipped. Will be back
Love the little pantry with microwave, stove & dishwasher… the queen size bed may be a bit small for 2 big size people …
Excellent except a few operational issues
The hotel and room was perfect. The decor appears new, stylish and fun. Its practical with its mini kitchen too. The front desk staff were amazing and extremely accomodating with an unusual request. But there were a few points that should be mentioned as its a large chain and should be raised. 1. Kitchen had 2 has 2 sets of cutlery, cups, etc. Seems practical but it was a little annoying. No extra glasses in bathroom, 2 knives, etc. 2. No extra blankets. I asked and I swear I was given a doona used by their nightshift staff. A few extra blankets wouldn't kill thier budget. 3. We lost power while trying to pack to checkout and we were in a hurry. I phoned reception and they said they'd send someone, they didnt. I found that the power had tripped and reset, all good but it would have been helpful if they sent a staff member to check that. It was dark and I was looking around an unfamiliar unit with my phone trying to get dressed, pack and deal with an issue. Apart from that, amazing. Front desk staff were incredible. Room service staff need some training. Its also in a very handy position and vlose to Albert Park which was perfect for a morning walk.
Great stay
Very friendly, clean, comfortable.
The rooms are a bit basic but clean and functional. My view was of a rubbish-filled street alcove. The restaurant menu is limited, the wait staff all seemed to be new. One minor thing - spelling mistakes! On the wall, on the TV, on the menu. Such an odd thing for a hotel with aspirations to be seen as a serious contender. Charging $40 for parking is too steep. $25 would be fair.
Nobody helps with luggage. Receptionist doesn’t smile when I checkout my room. Won't stay again.
Good clean rooms and convient location. Great hotel to stay in thanks.
Food was fantastic staff in dining room fantastic The room we stayed in the air-conditioned was very noisy all free soap containers were empty And I was also very disappointed with the lack of consideration giving to myself and my husband after I was stuck in the hotel lift not once but twice but thanks for the ×2 bottles of 250mls of water you gave me for this LOL
Outstanding service by staff
The staff in both the hotel and restaurant were outstanding.
The staff were fantastic. Went above and beyond. Rooms were clean and tidy.
Liked that it was easy to get too, staff were great and helpful. Perfume Scent in the lobby was really overpowering and a little too strong for us. Notice about the restaurant and Bar not being open on our second night stay would have been great to know before arriving back, hoping for sweets and a nightcap.
Property was actually Mecure so hard to find under another name. Room was extremely small.
It was a nice place to stay, however the water pipes need fixing badly, at 3:30am I thought a train was coming straight for me but it was the room next to me using their water, this went on for an hour. Can so hear when other people are coming and going especially at 1:30-4:30am. The heater only worked for 20 minutes and then shut down and blew cold air out and would not turn back on for hours. My key card was also shut down before my check out and I was stuck in the elevator until someone else used the elevator. Also the carpet could use a good clean, a little sticky and very dirty white socks were black! You also have to pay $100 bond and then wait days to find out if they are returing your money, they did not tell me anything at checkout about my refund just quickly got me out didn’t bother asking me about my stay.
.
Tram to door 👍great jazz decor
Very nice cept temp to hot and balcony door wldnt open, only fan avail on aircon, late check out appreciated 👍
