Upscale hotel excellent room and lobby decor. Limited dining options.
Hotel is kitschy but fun! They did a great job and we loved our stay. The staff, especially the manager were awesome and try so hard to please. Only weak point was dinner Overpriced and underwhelming.
Omar and Aziz were wonderful hosts thank you guys jamal
We really enjoyed this beautifully appointed and relaxing property. Had a swim in the pool, enjoyed dinner and got into the groove of the Moroccan desert.
Wonderful place and wonderful staff!
Enchanting Private Hotel
I stayed here 5 days and was smitten from the first moment. The decor may not be everyone's taste and may seem a little OTT but the rooms are of generous size, very comfortably furnished and the location is very quiet. The staff are discrete and very obliging, they serve excellent food more or less to your wishes. It is near the airport, in fact 15 minutes walking distance and on the edge of town. But it is only about 20 minutes to the main part of the centre. The small garden and swimming pool make for relaxing space. This is a unique hotel of quality and worth the extra for escaping the bustle of large hotels.
Guiet and relaxing
Great place and quiet
We were the only ones there, but there were two staff members to take care of us. They were so attentive and kind. Had a wonderful breakfast. The room we stayed in was just lovely.
No heating
Property is incredibly beautiful, but pricey. But I guess one goes with the other? It's big, beautifully decoorated, well laid out. The grounds are beautiful too. Small staff that does their absolute best to please. Only gripes are we did a small load of laundry that cost $80.00 US dollars...Ouch, and the Kundun suite only had one bathroom for the 3 of us. Other Riads we'd been to of the size we wanted have had two. That would have made it even more superior. Other than that, great property to give you a break coming out of the desert before continuing to Marrakech.
Very nice property. Well kept. friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast service.
Short on useable essentials
TV didn’t work. Most of electrical outlets also didn’t work.
Beautiful hotel with gorgeous decor
Very nice staff, very welcoming, refreshing pool, beautiful decorated hotel. Food was excellent, amenities very nice
they don't know how Expedia works
The hotel is nice and the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed, but the owner/manager has no clue how Expedia works. I booked and paid for our stay weeks before our arrival but when checking out they insisted that we had to pay for the room again. They tried to explain that I pay them and then they pay Expedia. I even showed them the receipt of payment from Expedia and they still would not believe me. We had to pay again and once we get back to the states take it up with Expedia. Very frustrating experience.
Stinking room, appalling manager response
When we turned on the aircon, a strong smell of sewage filled the room. We spoke to the receptionist who checked the room, admitted that there was indeed a smell, and tried to mask it with a deo spray. But the sewage odor was too strong, and the spray didn't have any effect. The receptionist told us that no other rooms were available. Then he called the manager. The manager started with explaining that the smell was from outside and he couldn't do anything about it, it was in all the rooms. He suggested we either turn off the AC or burn a candle. I'm allergic so the candle option was a no-go. And it was too hot without AC. So we asked if we could just leave and find another place. He shouted at me in the lobby, threatened to call the cops, and refused to let us leave. To top all that, the AC was just barely working. And when we asked to be compensated the manager completely changed his tune, denying that there was any smell at all. He really insulted us, again speaking in a derisive tone, claiming that we were fabricating the issue because we couldn't afford the room and needed a discount. This was in spite of his receptionist having admitted to the smell. The next morning the manager apologized, and told us that he had spoken to the owner to get the smell issue fixed. But the damage was done, and we had to endure insults and spend a sleepless night in a hot, stinky room. He didn’t offer any compensation, except for a handful of fruits and cookies.
Turn your trip into an adventure
This Boutique hotel is spectacular. the staff is super attentive and anticipates how to best serve their customers in a non-intrusive way. one example is when ordering diner for the evening, they asked what we had tried so far so as to avoid us having "another chicken tagine". In this way the chef prepared a unique meal that was super. The decor of the hotel is stunning. really fun to see the historical themes, and very well executed. We were upgraded to a suite w a balcony (kundun, I highly recommend). the pool is a great oasis, anf the breakfast very filling. Assan the GM was very helpful and a good host. The one feedback I have is more around the location. Oarzazate is pretty remote. If I had to do it over again, instead of booking 2 consecutive nights, I would book 1 night, then book an overnight excursion to the sahara, then book the 2nd night at Hotel des artes on the return day to maximize the opportunity.
One Night too many
The hotel was empty when we arrived which should have been clue. We were given a room which had a sewage odour but we though maybe the room was stuffy and needed to be aired out. My daughter's bed had huge buttons on the mattress which was definitely not going to work. We went to the pool which was fine, until the 100 disgusting pigeons sat over us and dive bombed the pool. We went for dinner came back and the sewage smell was much worse. Not breathable. We asked to switch - not a problem. Packed up moved to two separate rooms ( 2 kids 2 adults). Woke up at 1 AM with the A/C not working. Room was a sweat box. Went back down and switched rooms again. This time - it barely worked. Needless to say, we didn't sleep at all. Maybe 2 hours - with a 6 hour drive ahead of us. I fully expected to be comp'd for the room issue as this hotel was the most expensive on our two week trip. Nothing. I would steer clear of this place. There are other options at half the price.
Le Temple des Arts is above and beyond..
We arrived at the hotel after our Sahara trip and it was amazing. Our room was a junior suite but the entire room was very spacious, especially the bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our dinner at the hotel and it was excellent as well. The hospitality of this hotel went above and beyond what we've expected, unbeknownst to us, they washed our car (which we drove around for 9 days and was looking kind of scary..) and had it ready by the time we were checking out. If we have a chance to come back to Ouarzazate again in the future, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you for a beautiful memory.
A great boutique hotel
An Oasis in the middle of the desert, would recommend anyone thinking about it to go ahead and book. Interesting interior, the Hammam and Massage fantastic, fantastic breakfast and dinner good too.
