- Conveniently located w/in walking distance from Kyoto Station - Excellent customer service throughout - Memorable Japanese breakfast experience on 7th floor - Clean hot spring onsen facilities on the 8th floor
Amazing service! Amazing hospitality!
Excellent staff. Close to station and eating areas. Love the onsen after a long day outside.
We really appreciated that house keeping took special care of my Daughter’s stuffed animals. That was very thoughtful. Lovely hotel, great location near Kyoto Station.
Such amazing staff and clean. Close to all and awesome bar. Wish I could of stayed a month.
A great place to stay if you are looking for a location within walking distance of Kyoto station. It offers very pleasant accommodations. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and we liked that they included both Japanese and western style beds. They were a bit on the small side, not enough room for storing our suitcases etc. or unpacking. There isn’t a restaurant on the property but plenty of dining options in the surrounding area. All in all a great place to stay if you are looking to explore Kyoto.
Clean and peaceful with hot spring
We enjoyed the stay!
We arrived too early for check in. They kept the lugged for us. When we came back the hotel later, they already carry the luggage to the room. Only one thing I’d like hotel to consider was, open the hot spring earlier than 6:30am. We checked out 7am, did not enough time to use the hot spring in the morning.
It is close to the main train line. The hot springs are wonderful, staff is professional and the building/rooms are spotless and comfortable.
This property is conviently close to Kyoto station and Kyoto Tower which made it perfect for moving around Kyoto and taking Shinkansens to other cities. Its in a relatively quiet area near the train station but also has plenty of foot traffic near it which helped us feel safe and comfortable waling to the hotel at any hour. We also loved the delicious restaurants that were nearby that really made this stay a highlight if our trip!
Close to Kyoto station
Great location, comfortable and convenient
Great location and very comfortable with good service level.
Quiet and excellent service. Hot spring is also very clean and well maintained.
This hotel was very clean. They gave us excellent service. We would like to stay there again.
Nice Hot spring ( Onsen ) in hotel . Very convenient location near the Kyoto station .
Wonderful hotel!
Staff is amazing and hotel is located next to Kyoto Station so it is easy to get to if on foot with luggage. The onsen is great and there are laundry facilities as well. breakfast was a delicious authentic Japanese breakfast! Would recommend this place to everyone!
Highly recommend stay in Kyoto
Highly recommend, we very much enjoyed our stay here! We booked the Japanese traditional style room with its own private onsen. It was very ideal as we could not use the communal hotel hot springs as we have tattoos, but this did not bother us as we booked the private room for this purpose. The room was incredibly spacious and using the onsen was a lovely experience. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helped us greatly, particularly with helping us with luggage transfers. Even though we have very limited knowledge of Japanese, staff were able to help us in English which we appreciated. All in all it was a lovely short stay we had and great location, very near Kyoto Station.
Like the hot spring.
Staff are very coureous, professional, and attentive to details. Facility, room, location and service are all top notch.
Not worth the price.
The staff was exceptional and the Onsen (hot spring) was heaven after a day of walking up stairs visiting temples. Close to the train station (5 min walk) which has plenty of stores and restaurants/bars with great variety. The beds were insanely comfortable. I will certainly be staying here when I come back to Kyoto.
Happy customer
Hotel staff was extremely polite, helpful, prompt and professional. The onsen was excellent, and the room was perfect for my wife and I. Clean, nice yukatas, and a great hybrid design of traditional Japan and modern amenities.
It was nice experience staying in family room. I just wish you add body lotion to your amenities 😊
Close to Kyoto Station. Great customer service and very nice hot spring. Highly recommend. We’ll definitely stay here again if we come back Kyoto.
Very clean and tidy, big room space with a Japanese style area. A good hot spring with outdoor area in town, I can have a brief relax in the hotel, will come again
不錯的飯店
洒店房間很細,行李要放在入口通道,沒有衣櫃,桌面也很細,很少地方放物品。職員有禮貌,可給我們11時才退房。温泉室內和室外各一個,人不多。離京都車站很近。
Only hotel with natural hot spring in the city centre. Very convenient location.
near the main station with quiet area. staff are very nice and helpful.
The natural hot spring is perfect! Love both the indoor and outdoor hot spring:) Very comfortable and good size twin room.
Treat yourself to a worthy upgrade!
Super nice and clean. We book one of the two rooms with the private onsen on the 8th floor. It was more than double the price of a regular room but it was so worth it for a day of relaxation. The room was a charming Japanese-Western style with a separate tea room. Super comfortable bed and quiet at night. The location was also very convenient and close to the Kyoto train station with lots of good food options and shops around. Would definitely stay there again and recommend that upgraded room with the private pool for anyone looking to treat themselves.
Able to arrange adjacent rooms for my late booking request. As we are arrive the hotel before the check in time, hotel staff are helpful to arrange early check in. When i return to the hotel at night time to collect the room key, being informed Our luggages already delivered to our room.
Great stop off near train station
We had a two day trip to Kyoto and this hotel was fantastic as a base. It is a short walk to the hotel from the train station. It has a floor of hot springs to relax at the end of a long day of shrine and temple touring.
Very clean spacious room, close to train station, friendly and helpful staff.
Overcharge us the breakfast. When check-in, staff already mentioned breakfast was not include during this booking, I clearly said no need to add breakfast. Next morning we found breakfast coupon outside the room floor around 10am which the breakfast time almost finished. We didn’t use this breakfast coupon, but when we check out, they asked us to pay for the breakfast which I get confused. I didn’t request the breakfast coupon, if so why they didn’t give us upon the check-in, why only delivery in the next morning for breakfast hour. No frog & knifes inside the room, we requested on the 8th floor, they said the knife need to be charged, I feel so unfair we just borrowed the knife for the fresh fruit & they said we need to be charged. Unbelievable!!!
Onsen Hotel near kyoto Jr station
Was looking for a stay near the kyoto station and this has attracted my attention. Hotel comes with onsen and within 5 minutes walking distance from kyoto Jr Station. Rooms are very spacious for 3 pax. However the onsen water on the top floor isn't hot enough probably due to the way the facility was built.
YOU HAVE TO STAY HERE!!
+ clean clean clean rooms. + nice and quite onsen on TOP FLOOR. + great location. 5 min from Kyoto station by walk.
Terrific Japanese set breakfast and very nice bed. Rooms are a bit small and some dictance, though walkable, from the station.
Excellent with the hot springs on the hotel. Very clean and spacious room. Walkable distance to Kyoto station and bus and lots of cheap eats.
Good hotel, highly recommend
Good hotel, highly recommend
Excellent stay, will be back definitely! The only thing was, maybe its a cultural thing? Ladies would come in during middle of operation time in hot spring bath on the 8th floor to do clean up.....shouldn't clean up be done during down time?
Excellent hotel to stay!
Easy access from Kyoto Station , quite area with convenient store nearby , we will stay in this hotel again in the future.
Good hotspring hotel room
I booked a hotspring room. The room is big and clean, the hotspring is excellent. Good traditional japanese breakfast.
What a find! And such a good price!
I'd been to Kyoto several times, and this time was only looking for a place near the station to spend the night before returning to Tokyo after traveling around southern Japan. So glad I found this place! The only problem was finding it. It's not hard, you just need to know where to go. Ergo: Come out of the Central Exit at Kyoto Station and turn LEFT. You can go up to the main road and go one block left (you'll pass the entrance to a hospital) and find the hotel on the next corner (entrance around the corner on the right side (cross the road then turn left). Even easier: turn left out of the entrance and keep going left on the side road. There's a big red sign pointing to the BIC camera store. When you get to the next corner, the hotel will be across the street to the right. Anyway--this tired traveler had a lovely shiatsu massage in my room and then spent a nice half-hour at the onsen on the 8th floor. It was pouring rain, so I just had dinner in the hotel, and that was just fine. Not the best restaurant in Kyoto, but didn't expect that. Service is lovely. The hotel is lovely. Beautiful lobby, spotless onsen area. I found the room (and it was the cheapest room) to be very spacious and comfortable. The yukata (cotton robes) provided were so gorgeous, I would have loved to have bought one. No problems at all with air conditioning, WiFi, or anything at all. Beds and pillows on the firm side, which I prefer. Thank you for a lovely evening!
Worst hotel experience
Not flexible hotel. Not helpful for hotel guest with young children. I will not recommend this hotel if you are staying with Children! Staff not helpful and not flexible & not considerate at all! Be aware as it's a hotel full of policies . Staff are pretentious of not able to speak foreign language like English!
Staff attitude and lousy hotel policy
Kept telling me that its the hotel policy so they are always right! Bad hotel and never going back. Carpets are black stained.
Enjoyed our stay
Friendly staff with good spoken English. We were referred to Isetan Dept Store 11/F for lunch. We really enjoy the view and have a fantastic Wagyu beef lunch there.
Great room, great service and great location!
Nice hotel, convenient to yeain station. Enjoyed
We enjoyed the onsen, specially after a busy day of touring.
Great Location! Great Service!
Beautiful hotel, great location. The service and staff were amazing. My only issue was the lack of counter space in the bathroom and storage in the rooms.
Awesome place. I think it's closer to 4 stars.
Fantastic place, and the hot springs were quiet and lovely. The location is convenient close to the train station, but the immediate vicinity (the immediate 1-2 square block) can feel a little deserted at night.
nice hotel
Great hot baths
The hotel combines the traditional with the new. I loved wearing the yukata and soaking up in the hot bath. Very clean and comfortable with more amenities that. other hotels. Definitely would recommend and stay again.
fantastic experience in a ryokan. The secret Onsen is great experience
Fantastic onsen inside the hotel!
Zuihokaku is truly amazing. The entrance can be slightly difficult to find. One entrance was decorated as a restaurant entrance. The other one was on the quiet street with no sign. Slightly hard to find, but the hotel was amazing. The lady staff who hosted me at the front counter was semi-fluent in English. Whenever I asked her questions, she could understand clearly and right away. It took a lot less burden to explain what I mean. The room was very interesting. The floor they use in the room is by traditional tatami (I think). They prepared Yutaka for customers to dress. Although there was no tutorial on how to wear it, with free wifi, it was very easy to find out on YouTube. They even have massage booking available (for additional fees). This is the first hotel I've seen who does that. For late night snack, they would bring it to your room when you order them. The onsen was truly astonishing. They have outdoor and indoor ones available. At first, the temperature was slightly hot. Once I was inside, the temperature was at the right amount! My entire body was truly relaxed after the onsen. On the side note, PLEASE FOLLOW THEIR GUIDE ON HOW TO ENJOY ONSEN PROPERLY! Too many other customers made a mess of this facility. Please be respectful and let's keep this awesome hotel running.
8mins walk from the station, Room was small .
Best Hot Springs Hotel in Kyoto
Best Hotel in Japan we stayed at this trip. Friendly staff; Hot Springs Onsen, was a wonderful experience with the traditional Yukata robe fresh daily. Storage for our luggages so we can see the city more! Clean rooms..convenient location, right by the train station (Shinkansen) from Tokyo..
Great hotel
Excellent services and best hot springs
Enjoyed Kyoto
Excellentl stay.
Hotel with a Complete Japanese Experience
Excellent rooms, with a choice of regular beds or Japanese Futons. Wanted the full Japanese experience so chose the futons. Note that the futons are only made up at evenings around 6:00 p.m. - would have preferred that they be left made up, but they are taken away once the room is made up and set out again in the evening. Hot Spring (Onsen) is available for use on the top floor - it is clean and relaxing with early and late opening hours. Located close to the main Kyoto station with great shopping close by in all directions. Hotel has a great Japanese breakfast available in the dining room, also has a bar available. Polite staff especially in the dining room. A great little shop with local goods is also available on the premises
Kyoto stay with excellent hot springs
Excellent hot springs bath on the top floor
Has a hot spring in the hotel.
Pretty close to Kyoto Station. Has a hot spring in the hotel but charges 150 yen per use. Room and hotel was modern and clean.
Nice hotel close to Tranportation and things to do
Had a great time in Kyoto must do while your here . Hotel speaks english well. Onsen was nice
Great location & Very nice Spring Spa
Near the Kyoto station. Spring Spa in the hotel was wonderful! Especially after lots of walk. Service was effecient and very friendly. I had an amazing experience.
Pretty decent business hotel
Very convenient location, and a bit more stylish than the usual business hotels. Rooms are well designed and quite spacious. The upper floor onsen was a bit disappointing as there were no plants and no real "open air feeling"; more like a regular spa. The main problem with this hotel was that the window screens didn't block light much. If you need a room to be black to sleep, this hotel is not for you.
Good onsen on the 8th floor
Wonderful surprise
When we had to book a room in Kyoto for just one night, that very same night, I knew I would be choosing from either extremely expensive places or places no one wanted to stay. When this hotel popped up as an option I snapped it up because it was cheaper then other similar properties. It turned out to be an absolutely lovely place to stay. Everything about it was terrific. Like most places in Japan, the service was outstanding. The room was extremely quiet and comfortable although the bed was a little hard, which may be typical of Japan. But the room was really big by Kyoto standards and had lovely amenities and a very nice Japanese simplicity. We also really enjoyed the traditional baths on site, especially looking out over the entire city of Kyoto while soaking in the steaming hot water. I would definitely recommend this place to others, and would return if I had the chance. We really lucked out when we booked it.
Breakfast
The breakfast not as good as we think
Good location, good amenities
Corner room was a bit small but serviceable for family of 3. Loved the bathtub amenities. Enjoyed the hot spring every night. Would definitely stay here again.
Nice stay in Kyoto
Hotel near Kyoto station granting easy access to trains and buses to see popular temples and shrines. Hotel also had built in hotspring to soak in after a full day of walking.
Japanese bath house.
Comfortable, good sized rooms, lovely bath house. Beautiful traditional style rooms.
A great hotel with hot spring
Convenient location. Near train and bus stations. Hot spring on top floor very clean and relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay very much.
Perfect stay! Don't miss the Onsen!
It doesn't get any better. Perfect stay! Beautiful hotel, new, excellent condition. Great staff, extremely friendly, welcoming, helpful, polite. Don't miss the Onsen hot spring baths in the 8th floor for just USD 1,30/day. Wifi was blazing fast, the bathroom and toiletries perfect. Location couldn't be better either: 3 min walk from the Kyoto Station, with access to long distance and local trains, subway and buses, yet, very quiet. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, as they only offer japanese style "sets", but there are plenty of cafes very close to the hotel. We loved Cafe Veloce just one block away.
Love Kyoyo
Hotel was fine, near train station
I was very happy to have booked this hotel for my stay in Kyoto.. It was a pleasure stay. love this hotel, very good hotel room and service, nice staff, and environment. Will come back again.
Comfortable stay at the hotel
Top
This is probably the best place I stayed in Japan. This hotel is clearly underrated considering the renovations that I have been made. Very clean, experienced staff, spacious rooms, good value Hot Springs at 5 mins of Kyoto station was great!
Convienent hotel
Hotel staff Yang can speak Chinese and she was very helpful to arrange the sight seeing for us. Hotel is old but nice and clean. Our room is slightly close to subway tracks and had minor noise but bearable.
Close to Main Station
The room was spacious and clean with large public baths. The staff was very friendly and always welcoming. It was a quick walk to the main Kyoto station, hub to all types of transport, with lots of shopping and dining facilities. Highly recommended for a comfortable stay in Kyoto.
Modern spacious, great service and onsen
Wonderful service, brand new interiors, room was spacious clean and modern with all amenities we needed. The onsen is top notch
Clean And New
the hotel is very good. The staff very nice and speak in English !! That is great !! The onsen very good and clean
Great hotel
Loved this hotel in Kyoto. Room size was big. Had room with tatami mat and zabutons. Bathroom was big with good counter size. Service was good. Only con was the breakfast in the hotel was a buffet, but only had soup and salad (Japanese style). The hotel next door had a good breakfast. They have an onsen upstairs. Close to the Kyoto station with access to the trains and buses. Also a lot of restaurants and stores in train station.
Nice but pricey!
Overal we were pleased. Pluses - great location near train station, nice bathroom and terrific onsen. Negatives - a little sterile and the room and restaurant were a bit overpriced ($70 per person for dinner; $15 breakfast)
Value for Money
Nice and clean. Friendly staffs. Good Location
Good Experience of japanese futon culture but could not bear it
The hotel is about 10mins walk from Kyoto station. Booked a japanese room with futon for three. There wasn't much space to move around after we placed our 3 huge luggages. We have to sit on the floor the entire time other than sleeping. After a while, our backs were tired as we are not used to this kind of posture. The rooms are clean and staff is friendly and speaks English. All the basic necessities are provided even with yukata. There is a hot spring to soak in that charges 450 each use. Male and female is separate
Great authentic Japanese Experience
Beautiful hotel. Great minimalist decor was calming and elegant. They served a great Japanese breakfast that was so much fun. There were 3 stacked bento boxes full of surprises. We took our teenage sons, and they loved it too. You can't be shy to enjoy the hot springs, but men and women are separated. It was a great experience, and I highly recommend this hotel. Very close to the train station as well.
Close to train station
No guiding signage from train station to hotel. Initially I was a bit lost as this is my first time to Kyoto
Superior service and quality for great value.
Great responsive staff. Nice modern condition. Tatami sitting area in the room and Shioji paper screens with black out blinds. Well stocked cafe and bar. Only 5 minutes walk from the station. Very convienient to catch buses. Held our baggage before check in time due to arriving early. And delivered it to our room before we returned for final checkin. Great place and highly recommended on my second trip to Kyoto.
an excellent coice in kyoto
convenient, new and excellent service
Nice hotel!
It's a very nice hotel with hot spring in the city! Very convenient with reasonable price! Comfy and clean hotel!
Good option
Nice hotel, very good location, train and metro near station. Rooms very small
Good hotel
Very comfortable and clean. Close to the train station, with easy access to the rest of Kyoto.
Great hotel!
The hotel is amazing! Rooms are comfortable, new and beautiful. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Awesome experience!
Awesome for the price!
I was very happy with my stay here. It about 3 block from Kyoto main train station. So you can get anywhere in the city from here. Decent (for Japan) Italian restaurant on the way of you get in late from Tokyo and need a place to eat. Rooms are small but was just me and worked great. Very clean bathroom. Stayed two nights for around $65 US. Steal! Got a massage in my room (you must pay cash to massage therapist) little different as they use your bed not a table. Was around $60 US for 60 min. Front desk really had trouble understanding the questions I asked but affer a min or two of them not understanding they would find someone in the back that spoke better English. That was prob my only issue with the place, but all worked out. Would def stay here again if ever back in Kyoto!
Good hotel, good location.
Newly remodeled, it is a very clean & comfortable hotel, a block away from the Kyoto train station. The rooms were bigger than most Japanese hotels. The beds are still very hard, but the pillows are soft and the room temperature control is accurate. The refrigerator has only one setting. There is a public hot spring bath available for an extra charge that is completely worth it, with a sauna, outdoor area, and separate facilities for men and women. Coin operated laundry machines are available that use their own soap so you don't have to go buy any. A very comfortable hotel.
Well designed and brand new
This hotel has recently re-opened after refurbishment. A typical Japanese business hotel, with typical Japanese rooms a little on the small side. I stayed in a corner room which gave an illusion of space! The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard, with a strong modern Japanese theme. There is also a hot-spring bath (indoor and out) which is also brand new and very welcome after a day of temple-visiting in Kyoto!
2 days in Kyoto
great location, just a few min walk to train and bus station. very new and clean. not bad onsen. room size decent. with the price they charged, it's awesome!
Very nice hotel near Kyoto train station
It was a wonderful experience to stay in this brand new hotel, we enjoy the Japanese style room and the hot spring on the top floor. The staff were very nice and helpful. I would strongly recommend to everyone.
Excellent, ultra modern hotel AFTER renovation
Frankly, I initial took a risk in selecting this hotel based on the old review, but I am very happy that I chose Kyoto Hot Spring Hatoya Zuihokaku Hotel. The entire hotel underwent an extensive renovation in 2014. Everything has been updated from the lobby, rooms, hallways, hot springs, and even lobby and down to the extra power outlets and built-in USB chargers. This hotel is about 3-5 minute walk from the Kyoto JR rail station by exiting next to JR Isetan and going down the street for 2 blocks to BIC Camera and turn a right. The highlight of this hotel is the in-room hot spring bath if you don't want to use the beautiful on-site onsen on the 8th floor. The only improvement is that the appliances in the hotel are all in Japanese, so an English translation sheet for the Sharp air filter, TV, and bidet would be useful for non-Japanese foreign guests. There is always at least one front desk employee would speaks good or fair English. The Hotels.com rate was superior to the hotel's own website rate.
Great hotel right next to Kyoto station
Good hotel with nice staff. Go here if you need to catch an early train
just a OK hotel. Not worth the price.
