Okay
Convient location for this particular trip. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were updated since my last stay 10 years ago.
The staff was very pleasant and welcoming Arrange for my taxi for the airport, infinity pool with nice view. Recommend this hotel
Good
Le falta mantenimiento en el piso donde está la piscina. No existe ningún comercio en sus alrededores.
The room is basic and old very small.
Excellent
The comfort of staying at this hotel
Rooms were large and comfortable. The restaurant and pool bar were nice. It was easy to see the hotel but it was difficult to get there. There were a lot a of one way roads and a busy highway that was easier to get back on than to get to the hotel.
"Tired" looking rooms. Not well maintained/poor renos. However, room was well cleaned by friendly cleaning staff. Pool was great. We appreciated being allowed to check in early and leave an hour later to accommodate our travel schedule. Front desk staff were very helpful with tips for bus transportation and calling taxi.
Good customer service and friendly staff
Very old building, not very well maintained or cleaned. Very noisy highway next door. Not walking distance from anything.
To much noise from the highway.
Building is nice, however the jacuzzis and steam room doesn't seems to be working
Property facilities were limited or closed. Area is so so and some staff were rude.
My stay at the hotel was great! The customer service at the front desk was good. The receptionist was nice and made reservations for my car service to the hotel the next and the driver punctual. Also, issisted that I would have time to have breakfast. The only thing I would say is that there was a bit of mildew in the bathroom ceiling which need to be fix and no wash rags. I didn't bother to ask for one, since I was leaving next day. A beautiful hotel; the dinner I ordered was delicious. Will definitely go in the future.
Requested wake-up call: this didn't happen. Requested taxi to airport: this didn't happen. Dining service were closed on Tuesday at noon.
The lunch was too expensive. There were no wash cloths or hand towels. Could not safely use the tub. Did not perform wake up call. They did not speak English. Needed to check out at 6:30 and couldn’t
The breakfast service was great. However the hotel is old and in need of upgrades.
I am sorry to say that this hotel has a major mold (fungi) problem. Due to my asthma condition and having two children under 4, expsoure to mold can result in major health problem. I am sorry to say unless this is sorted, I would not recomend. Also breakfast was noy very diverse, no alternative to cow milk which was needed since i have a child with milk intolerance had to purchase my own. Staff tried to help by providing rooms but didnt go to any extense to check on us or help with luggage etc Would not recommend. Location was good.
I liked the amenities, convenient location and transport options. The view was great and most of the staff were courteous and helpful. But there are always some black sheep. They were not accommodating initially when an error in booking was made (receptionist and manager) meaning I was forced to pay (no exception) and upon arrival, certain receptionists were clueless when asked for advice about tours. Oh, I was also put in a room directly below the kitchen (possibly on purpose by the same receptionist) so noise at night and in the early morning (5am) was disturbing to say the least. The air-conditioning also didn't work properly and would increase the room temperature sometime around midnight leading to excessive sweating. The bed would become drenched leading to us waking frequently. But I didn't let that ruin my vacation.
This hotel was very well maintained, very clean. All the staff members that l met were very helpful, courteous and seemed well trained. Certainly a well run hotel/facility.
Staff are friendly and helpful. There is no hotel guide book in the room and I cannot find the number for reception or what is the check-out time, or if there is any room service. The furniture in my room is very worn but the room is clean.
Nothing
We stayed one night - the room smelt damp and musty. There were no towels on arrival. During the night a large centipede bit my daughter in the bed. From 5am there was a lot of noise from the floor above which sounded like furniture being dragged along. I complained at reception and was given an email to contact, which I have done twice, and still no one has contacted me to apologise or offer compensation.
Comfy beds, helpful staff. Great food at the Dome on 8th floor.
Accueil chaleureux. Espace top. Emplacement central! À refaire pour découvrir le 8eme étage.
The room was awful, very outdated, very bare decor, felt like a hostel. No Kleenex, no wash cloths, no hand towels. Only provided two very thin, small body towels. Bed was uncomfortable, very hard. Only positive was the one bottled water provided in room.
YOU HAVE A NICE VIEW AND THE WAS ALSO LOVING
good food offered at restaurant and not too pricey
Very helpful staff. Excellent food and bar. Hot tub and pool. large room with working / fast internet. Great Pastries next door.
Liked the view from the top floor. the spa and hoy tub were great also
Gated parking Unique building Friendly staff Great buffet breakfast
The rooftop hot tub was very neat. The 360 view of the city was absolutely stunning.
MILDOW SMELL ALL OVER PEELING PAINT BROKEN COFFEE MACHINES INSUFFICIENT ROOM LIGHTING THIS HOTEL NEEDA TOTAL RECONSTRUCTION
pretty bad. that's all I m adding. Who requires a minimal characters to give feedack>?
I selected a room for 2 adults and 1 child upon check in the room did not meet that criteria. Was asked to wait while they await a room to be available. Since we were tired we settle for what was given which made our sleeping arrangements very difficult. When i asked about the bar was the point at which i learnt the restaurant as well as bar was closed go for renovation. Imagine you at a hotel as a foreigner and cant find dinner. Ridiculous
Vacay Ginger
We stayed in August 2019. The room was clean. The restaurant unfortunately was only open for breakfast until 10:00 a.m. and there weren't any other stores or restaurants in walking distance. Wash cloths are not provided so you have to walk with your own and there are no English stations on TV. Overrall, we were satisfied with our stay, the staff was friendly and the customer service was great.
Excellent for business
I was very impressed with this hotel. Location is great for business, between the Centre Ville and Airport, people are nice. Great value. The breakfast was very nice. I would come back!
Next Time I go Martinique Will Stay here again
Staff was friendly and great. Restaurant food was fantastic. There is a small lounge on the 8th floor that has some in house entertainment in case you don't want to venture out at night. Its close to the highway with easy access to the motorway to begin whatever excursions you may plan.
Safe and comfortable accommodation. Only negative was the limited amount of English Channels.. just news and sports... no English speaking movie channels. Great breakfast variety. Good reception!
Near the highway but fun and cute hotel. Resturant upstairs is delicious. On wed night there’s a club upstairs that has dance parties. The jacuzzi is fun. The pool looks like it’s for decor since no one got in the 3 nights I was there. Overall decent property.
Staff was nice, and tried to speak english to help out. Rooms were substandard, especially the bathroom. No shower curtains, leaves the bathroom with a wet floor after a shower. This ultimately generated a moldy smell in the room.
Default airport hotel
Close to airport, property is dated, service in hotel restaurant was poor, food mediocre, rooms really noisy.
The room and services were as advertised. However, my choice of "comfort room" unknowingly limited me to the lower floors (1st-4th) of rooms. Upon check in, when I got a room on the 1st floor, the ground floor, which I do not like, the front desk attendant was courteous to change me to the second floor. The full breakfast was excellent in the hotel restaurant. We did not care for the dinner however. The room was clean. Nothing fancy, but had the usual amenities plus hair dryer, iron and ironing board, safe and (non alcohol) mini bar snacks in the frigde for purchase. The parking lot was gated and had a security guard on duty. The roof top pool and hot tub have a great view of the city. The property is about 12 minutes to the Fort de France Airport.
Very good service and location. It's always good to stay at this hotel. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and it's very convenient for business. Nice kizomba classes to do and relax on Wednesdays.
A fine hotel close to airport. Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc.
Very unique and simple in an European aspect just a bit dusty
Bridge from parking lot to reception had some great views
convenient for airport
We chose this hotel for the short distance to the airport as we had an early flight. This is a modern business hotel just off the main road about 10 mins to the airport by car. Although you can see the hotel from the main road It is a bit difficult to find after exiting. Make sure you have a good GPS and follow the small signs. Also there was road works so one has to make a 5 min detour to get on to the south entrance of the highway. We found the hotel to be quite expensive for Martinique especially since it didn’t include breakfast. Not great value but convenient for supermarkets and airport. There are not too many options close to the airport. On the plus side there is free WiFi, nice comfortable bed, parking, rooftop pool/jacuzzi with a great view. Jacuzzi was tepid though. The restaurant was very good and busy. Note to hotel - We had to wait to check in though as there was only one receptionist when we arrived at 5pm and there was a long line of people checking in at this time. As this is normally peak time it would be good to have at least 2 staff members at the desk.
better rooms better extra bed. The pictures show rooms and bath bigger.
We liked the feel of France in the Caribbean. The food the culture and the European courtesy.
Great transit hotel in Ft-de-France, Martinique
We stayed at this hotel because it seemed to be the closest to the airport in Ft-de-France. We arrived late on Sunday night and departed early on Monday morning. To say the least, I was not disappointed and actually wished we could have spent some time here.
Great staff but poor internet connectivity. You can see lots of guest congregating by reception to use wifi.
Good en transit quickie stay
No coffee pods with coffeemaker in room ( got milk from the restaurant) good restaurant .clean, out of city center nearer to airport . Nice hot tub lounge area on rooftop. Panoramic views
The panoramic view was unique. Getting pool towels or change of towels was strangely more difficult than it should be.
Short overnight stay between flights. 15 minute taxi ride from airport. All good.
Very comfortable
Overall my stay at Hotel La Valmeniere was good. Staff was friendly and helful. The breakfast needs more variety and a mix of daily offerings...
Karibea for business
Service at the restaurant is great. The staff is very attentive. Nice menu. Front desk is also friendly. Only minor: a mishap on the taxis reservation. This hotel is great for business.
I don't have any complaints. All went perfect. Staff was great and very helpful when I needed to take a taxi. It's very clean, spacious and peaceful.
Nothing around walking distance, hotel could do with a update
True to images
Ideal stopover hotel with curteous staff with good facilities
Only 10 mins away from airport and city.
Overall good hotel. Check in/ check out was quick and hassle free, very welcoming bilingual staff also. Room is clean, well kept and has all the amenities for a short trip (coffee station, refrigerator/mini bar, free WiFi). The complimentary WiFi is good enough for VoIP calls and light streaming but is spotty in a few areas. Room service is fairly price and food is good. Did not have breakfast on site but it can be added for an additional fee. My main issue with this property are the hallways in the room blocks, the carpet need to be removed and replaced with tile like rooms. There are bleach and chemical stains all over and with the scuff marks on the walls it makes the area look unsightly. Management needs to address this asap as it detracts from the wonderful reception area/ rooms and left a bad impression.
Very close to airport.
This hotel was fine but it is in a weird location near the highway. The room was basic. The front desk staff were patient with our limited French and very helpful with directions.
Nice Hotel BUT
We arrived on Saturday for our a one night stay before returning to Canada after almost 2 weeks in Martinique. All went well at check-in, the staff was most helpful with luggage, etc. The surprise came when we saw a sign for the bar stating that it was open Monday to Friday but not on the weekend! Not joking, a hotel with a bar that doesn't open on the weekend! There may be some limited bar service available if you dine in the restaurant - didn't try that option. The second little surprise was when we went looking for an ice machine and were told the only place was the 8th floor bar (which was closed). We thought after 2 weeks in Martinique that we had pretty much seen most of the cultural quirks but these last two top the list. In summary, nice hotel to stay during the week but on weekends be forewarned that your weekend stay will be dry!
Nice but could be very noisy
Depending on where your room faces your stay can be great like mine or very noisy as the hotel is almost right beside the A1 which is a major thoroughfare. There is traffic night and day and it can get very loud. We only had breakfast in the restaurant but it was excellent. The resto opens at 19:30 for dinner and considering that we were up at 04:00 that was a bit late. We did manage to get some wine at the bar as it opened at 17:30. The check-in, bar & resto staffs were all very friendly but they do function at an island tempo. I would stay there again.
Secure free parking
The hotel was a bit difficult to reach, and the locked driveway past a water-treatment facility did not have any sign saying "La Valmeniere Hotel", so we drove past twice looking for the hotel entrance. Fortunately, the hotel is visible from the highway, so we were able to try different back roads in an attempt to gain entrance. Our room was very comfortable, with a memory-foam mattress, coffee maker, refrigerator, large closet, and spacious bathroom. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, once we found our way inside. There is a beautiful view from the top floor which has a rooftop infinity pool and two well-reviewed restaurants. I liked the windows that open, but there are no screens on the windows, allowing mosquitoes inside. Don't open the windows! My main suggestion would be to make the entrance gate more welcoming so that arriving customers know that they are not at the back entrance of the water-treatment plant.
Very nice hotel
This was a very nice hotel, excellent value for the price. The location was a little far from the port and touristy attractions, it's more of a business hotel. But again, it was a terrific value and the staff were all welcoming and accommodating.
Nice hotel close to the Airport
Servis minded personal. God food att the resturant. Nice pool with a good wiue.
Remote clean hotel.
Pleasant hotel, somewhat remote. Taxi to town was 15 Euros, return Taxis were scarce. Restaurant was very good and the food was great. The view over the pool showed a sparkling town. The staff accommodated our early arrival with no drama! Very nice people.
Satisfactory hotel close to airport.
Dinner in restaurant was great. Hallway carpeting needs replacing. Hotel is set high up on hillside. Unfortunately our room on second floor looked right into the hillside. But all and all for one night it was just fine.
Excellent restaurant with a very nice view!
Excellent restaurant with a very nice view. Interesting architecture. Many hotels in the island are in need of restoration, this hotel is no exception.
Good hotel near the airport, but no shuttle to the airport - a taxi is around 20 Euro
The best hotel out of 4 previous ones
Clean, smells fresh, speedy elevators, great view of the city. The bad thing is hard to find by navigation. But this is a common thing in this island.
Nice for business - poor internet
Location is very good for business, the staff are extremely kind and helpfull, the only thing is the internet, is very poor, sonibrecommend purchase a chip for internet access
Trip was for emergency purposes and the hotel was very helpful throughout my stay
Old hotel
Reception and lobby staff try to provide a good service but the hotel is old, carpet dirty. I got a problem with a light switch that didn’t want to turn off in my room and nobody came to fix it despite of my calls
Just ok.
It was fine near airport great view very good breakfast. Nothing special but handy to airport.
disapointing
The room i was given was on the bottom floor, very damp no view and overlooking the main hotel airco workings.I was woken up at 7.30 in the morning to the deafening sound of jackhammers over my head. The TV didnt work. When booking in via email no mention was made that the restaurant for lunch and dinner was closed and no place to eat within a mile or two except a local pizza joint across the street, even the bar was never open.Hotel is in a industrial area only good for Hospital visits although it is a killing uphill 40 minute walk. The pool is surrounded by a fence right up to the edge so nowhere to lie or sit.The only redeeming point was the breakfast by which time you will be starving
Good hotel for airplane connection. There is nothing around. A cab cost 15veuros to get downtown. On Sunday we had to get out of the taxi before the taxi meter reached 40beuros. If you go to Martinique to don't stay in this hotel, unless you rent a car.
Proximity to Hospital
Close to the hospital- main purpose for our visit.
Nice hotel close to town
Friendly staff. Very secured with gate. 24hr service. Great restaurant. Pool with view of the city. Near airport.
OK, in a pinch
Emergency re-route out of Dominica due to airport shutdown caused by rainfall shutting down Dominica airport. Had paid on-line with Hotels.com, desk clerk insisted that I pay again as she had no proof of payment. Still not sure if a second charge will hit my card.
Far away
This place was really far away from Fort de France and any area you'd want to hang around in. The service was prompt and excellent, but the location isn't great at all.
Valmeniere is located over the Highway, it is then convenient for buisness in the area, but not for vacations...
Friendly hotel
The hotel was adequate , the breakfast was good. But did not like the fact that the restaurant closed for lunch on weekend
Close to airport
I choose this hotel because I was only in Martinique for for six hours and needed somewhere to sleep ,and this hotel was very close to the airport. I arrived very late in the night so the town was quiet . The hotel lobby was beautiful and I was greeted by this beautiful lady name Sylvia. She speak English and was very helpful she was such a darling. I stay on the third floor which the carpet was dirty and have a lot of stain. The room was ok but the furniture are outdated. The hotel is ok but if the owners updated the furniture and redo the carpets this would be a beautiful hotel to state in.
Clean and comfortable.
I had room 610. It was clean, beds were comfortable and the view was nice. The mini bar had the basics. Complementary toiletries in the bathroom. The restaurant is on the 8th floor with even better views, breakfast buffet had lots to choose from. There is an infinity pool and if you are brave enough to take the glass stairs above the pool, there is a roof top garden and jacuzzi. Cons - No body helps with your luggage. The elevators are very small and the staff does not speak much English. But overall a good option.
Nice hotel, ii's excellent for business travelers.
Room was clean, hotel is very near the airport, the front desk staff are super friendly.
All I want is a drink
This hotel is clean ,and well located , with good parking. However ,it now caters to groups holding parties. The restaurant is very slow at lunchtime. Had we known that a basic meal would take well over an hour ,we would have eaten elsewhere . And ,on two of the three nights we stayed, the bar was closed to guests. On one of those nights ,we could not even get a cocktail at the restaurant. It is very close to the airport, and the restaurant is good. The free breakfast buffet is nice as well. Rooms also need more outlets . I had to choose between having a light by my bed and charging my phone.
Overnighter
Stayed here just one night before continuing on elsewhere. Very friendly front desk who spoke English and helped out with my little French. Definitely a spot for the business traveler. Room was spacious and clean. Restaurant food was good and pricing not too crazy.
Great Pool
Best hotel in Martinique! Great pool!
Very Good!
Very good stay!
Just ok
I needed a hotel near the airport before leaving and I wanted to enjoy my last 2 days. Valmeniere is a business hotel not a resort. I made a mistake maybe I should have booked Karibea Squash hotel! Very quiet hotel Breakfast is ok No balcony
Conveniently located... but
Great food and excellent service in the restaurant. Desperately need to train their cleaning crew. Dirty rooms, windows, faucets, carpets, tables (sticky) etc. Beautiful view from the bar and restaurant but obscured by dirty windows. Convenient only for quick overnight stay near the airport.
The stay was fine . Location is fairly close to downtown for shopping . Staff were helpful. But if you are looking for a beach this is not the place to stay !!
Fantastic aerial view. close proximity to airport
The staff were very hospitable, especially the dinner staff at the restaurant. An interesting hotel, but not for persons who love outdoors. Very quiet and relaxing though. Overall, highly recommended.
R.A.S
The staff are very nice and helpful. The food in the restaurant is delicious
