Excellent accommodations with a close proximity to beaches and restaurants.

We loved the size of the hotel and its luxury amenties. Truly world class excellence.

Room was not as described/pictured on Expedia (family room, there wasnt even a desk to work at). Staff were unable to communicate in English. Staff attempted to charge for breakfast that was included with booking. While the facilities are nice, the overall experience was unbecoming of the JW Marriott brand.

Third time and still Love it

My third time at this property - still very impressed. Location is on a beautiful sandy beach coast line, with lovely blue water. My room with balcony offered a sweeping view of the ocean, and the bed was very comfortable, and overall quality very good. Thanks to the staff as well, for their support and service, keeping me happy and safe, the whole stay. Back again soon. A+++

Good hotel with frustrating avoidable issues

The Premier Room Premier Sea View was only available if you went out to the balcony. I understand sea view is often in the general direction of the sea but a Premier sea view suggests something special and as the room was not cheap we were not impressed. The staff changed our room to Executive with full sea view for Rmb200 more per night but this included use of the Executive area where drinks, snacks and a simple dinner were included. We were happy with this deal. Breakfast buffet is huge but the western items by the egg station, such as bacon, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms etc were cold. Also the pancakes and waffles were stone cold unless there when being made. We thought it may just be an off day but on the 2nd day with great omelette and cold sides we mentioned this and the next day they added heat lamps over the food. It helped a little and the food was then lukewarm. The staff fussed over us each morning but as I said this really is something that affects all guests. Chinese guests would never accept anything other than fresh food. The staff ttied their best. We paid Rmb300 each for Christmas dinner but it was very disappointing. There was Turkey and Ham but no vegetables, not even potatoes. The meat was just added to the traditional evening buffet so we spent $100 to get some Turkey and Ham. Finally, the pool is great but is in shadow after lunchtime. At the end of the day this may be a Marriott but it is a Chinese hotel. Super staff let down by avoidable issues. V.Clean

It was very nice. Our room was big and comfortable. A large tub besides the shower was nice. Since it is a Western hotel there were a few English news station and HBO. Disappointed that there was not a beach to walk directly onto from the hotel. The pool area was very nice and big. The breakfast buffet was awesome! We liked the large variety of food both Western and Chinese. It is a very nice hotel! JW Marriott didn't disappoint us!

I’m a premium business globe trotter and I booked with high expectations of JW with myself Staying in a single bed with my family in other 2 rooms. Although Service was satisfactory, the room furniture has aged with Low premium experience. Aside, air conditioning is disappointing which malfunctions in middle of night and This happened to all 3 rooms. Further, Hotel beverage and cafe is ridiculously high with a standard sandwich at 10usd and an ice cream at 5usd. I don’t mind paying for quality but the prices defied business logic unexpected from a global hotel operator. I question if there is a global quality audit carried out.

Beautiful hotel

Very beautiful property! The service of the staff is good. Except for the F&B staff need to improve on the attentiveness. Need to ask for coffee/tea during breakfast. Suggest making it self-service. Front Office staff Kelly is very helpful!

The swimming pool is good, buffet breakfast have a lot of choice. Close to Daidonghai beach (walkable distance) and they have shuttle service to malls in Daidonghai area (pre booking required). However, the rooms are a bit old.

Our stay at the JW Marriott was great. From the get go we received a free room upgrade to a room with a better ocean view by Misty. The room itself was very clean and modern with plenty of storage space for clothing, which I really appreciated. The bed was big and comfortable, the room and balcony furniture was also very nice and clean, and the big round bathtub was definitely a highlight. The hotel itself featured one moderately sized swimming pool that was not too crowded throughout the day, and offered a nice reprieve from the hot, humid weather. The hotel is not located directly on a beach, you have to walk maybe 10 minutes or so to get to the beach and 15-20 to get to a public swimming area. The hotel is near to the city which was nice for shopping, eating out, and general nighttime strolling. The breakfast buffet was very comprehensive with delicious Western and Chinese options. The omelettes and pastries were delicious. We also opted for a dinner buffet on one of the nights. There was a huge selection of foods and each table gets an individual small hot-pot with many options for ingredients and sauces. As a dessert lover, I especially liked the chocolate cake. We also spent time in the game room playing ping pong, pool, and foosball. Overall the design of the hotel, convenient location, friendliness of the staff (front desk, recreation room, housekeeping, and valet), and great food made our stay fantastic!

It was sprawling. The pool, restaurant and room were a distant away from each other. It was clean and modern looking. The room was huge and well thought out (room for 3, 2 double bed) . Everything was located at the right place in a rectangular room. From shower, bathtub to a separate toilet cubicle. It had a small round table with 2 chairs, a bench, a cushioned bench and a small chaise lounge.

It really lived up to its expectations and the staffs are all so welcoming and pleasant. Especially Chalene who was very helpful during check in and check out, and always carried a smile on her face. The rooms were big and spacious and it exudes an aura of exclusivity and made us feel very comfortable. the only drawback was the hotel breakfast area which was a little small for the number of seats and got a little crowded and messy during the peak breakfast hours.

JW Marriott Sanya Dadonghai Bay

Excellent standard hotel. High quality accommodation in an enviable location. Food is also of very good quality. Local area has not been developed to the level expected e.g. several other hotels built but not finished. Approximately 10-15 min walk to nearest shops. Dadonghai Bay is developed, primarily aimed at Chinese and Russian tourists.

Service was very good and hotel room was nice with a good view. Staff was helpful. However, there were construction work in the hotel main building and swimming pools. The signature pools that are shown in the pictures are half gone in real life. Wish the listing was updated to inform us of that. We stayed in the rooms far from the main building so construction noise didn't affect us. Overall, we liked our room and facilities.

Service was great, room was very nice with a good view. However, the hotel is undergoing construction at the moment, the main hotel building (lobby building) and half of the swimming pools are inaccessible. It can get slightly noisy in the day and dusty around the area. They upgraded us to an area that was away from construction which was good. I wished they wrote on the listing that they are having construction and pictures of the hotel were not true to picture (other than the rooms they look the same). Hotel was located at the far end of Dadonghai beach so it can be quite a walk. It was very easy to get cabs at the hotel though.

Overall great resort.

My partner and I took a one week vacation to this resort. Overall we had a positive experience. The resort is in its own little area, has a great view of the bay, and is a pretty nice building. Our room was extremely clean and the cleaning staff came by every day to ensure everything was perfect. The bed was pretty comfortable, the room was a great size, and we had access to the executive lounge as we chose to purchase this room option. The lounge is definitely worth it with great drinks that are included and a meal around dinner time. We also enjoyed the hotel pool, which was pretty clean and virtually empty every day we went down, a fact we found surprising as we visited during the Chinese fall festival. The beach is a quick 10 minute walk down from the hotel which is off a nice boardwalk with other Chinese outdoor restaurants and such. The Nepalese staff at the hotel (we often had interactions with Beckham, Arik, and Sanmani) were the best people ever. They have amazing English and go out of their way to make your experience a good one. Only complaint during this time was that the hotel seemed to be out of a lot of things. Whisky was not available and some food options were sold out. We called to purchase a bottle of white wine, and literally no one in the hotel had any unless we wanted to pay $200. The Chinese staff that we were talking to would not do anything else for us and was a bit rude. It seemed like the hotel was having problems restocking. Other than that, great

Nice hotel with spacious room!

Hotel area was really big, not too crowded and noisy. Excellent choice for traveller who want privacy and quiet moments. Self contained hotel where meals and activities are available for families without having to travel out.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Facilities were good to keep my daughter entertained. Room was big and clean. Location is central in DaTongHai where you can pretty much reach anywhere.

Huge hotel room!

The hotel room was very comfortable, the family pool was closed down for maintainence, the opened pool were small, but we have flexibility to use the next door hotel pool. The breakfast was amazing. The hotel staff are polite

Put off Marriott for life

Check In: After an error in the system that took 20 minutes to fix and the hotel finally deciding not to downgrade us we finally got in to a room. (Frustrating but not the end of the world). Room: Nice balcony, good size, decent bathtub, smelly toilet, broken shower, AC smelled like cigarettes and bed was horrendous. Breakfast: Wide selection of terrible food. Can't eat outside until 8am by which time you are herded around like cattle due to the business of the place whilst tortured by incessant loud music. Pool: Not an infinity pool but decent size and not too cold. Location: Close to beach with plenty of sea food restaurants near by and bars with loud music (yes, you can hear them from your room until around midnight). Staff: Mixed. Management were nice and general staff were helpful but after being personally insulted and marched to the lobby to prove we were staying at the hotel by a swimming pool life guard we will never stay at a Marriott again. The whole episode was shocking and I've never encountered anything like it in the street let alone whilst being a paying guest at a hotel. Would NOT recommend staying here. Very disappointing all around.

Amazing hotel, great service, beautiful places to

We met up with my parents and my brother and his partner all at this hotel and had a fabulous time. Hotel dining is excellent. The lobby and lounge areas were wonderful to hang out and play cards in. My only suggestion for this hotel is that the kids club have toys for older kids (my 7 year old had nothing but Xbox offered to him) and that it allow for drop offs. Since a parent had to stay there was little point of the club. The kids club also needs more free activities. It is a huge beautiful facility that is underutilized because of these weaknesses. Also be aware that this hotel doesn't have it's own beach. The nearest beach is public albeit very close.

Good for family stay

The toilet was so stink during our stay though we have requested cleaning from room keeper. Perhaps the ventilation was so poor and the cleaning was not so detailed. Our room ocean view was so beautiful as we were arranged staying in the top floor. That's fantastic and wonderful sunrise view at the morning.

Fantastic view and close to the beach

Amazing new hotel basically sitting on top of Dadonghai beach. Well maintained, excellent service. Everyone friendly. Rooms are in a good direction, with wonderful view to the ocean. The hotel has several good restaurants, and a surprisingly good gym for a hotel. Downside is it can be difficult to find different stuff inside the hotel, because there are two wings. A map in the room or around the hotel would help a lot. A very noisy neighbor ruined two days for us, and in this case the hotel should have offered to upgrade us to a better room. Otherwise a very nice place, and we can absolutely recommend a stay here.

Great stay at the Sanya Dadonghai Bay Marriott!

This is from the experience of a elite member, but our stay was very nice. Our view from the room was incredible - we were able to see the bay, beach and resort! The room was long and spacious, giving us plenty of room to spread out during our short stay. The club lounge is also beautiful - the views are great (they also overlook the bay and beach) and the decorations are very nice. The staff there (especially Wit Wang, the assistant front office manager) was very hospitable and helpful, offering to get us anything we needed. They also seemed to have food (from small snacks to more substantial dishes) whenever the lounge was open. Additionally, the buffet breakfast in the restaurant was very expansive - they have a large offering of both Western and Asian food. The only thing is that the beach (at least the main part of it with the swimming areas) is a little far from the resort. It wasn't a problem for us, since we like to walk along the beach, but for those who like to sit on the beach and play in the water, it is a little far from those parts of the beach.

We got put in a smoking room after specifically asking for non-smoking. I also asked for any special service as we were celebrating our engagement - they said yes but didn't do anything. Nice hotel but overall experience was a bit of a let down given we were expecting something so special.

Room - very comfort and spacious, balcony have a sofa for two person with tea table, very comfort and romantic Staff - Super friendly especially staff from Concierge, they are very friendly and treat me like friend, but of cause I myself also a friendly person Location - Walk 10 min to the beach, abit far. Have to take taxi 5 min to get to cheap food place, if walk I think it tooks 20 min, taxi always available in front of hotel, if go to near amenities, it cost only RMB11, very affordable. Hotel decoration - very nice and new Fitness and games - they have a small fitness room, it FOC. the games room included billard, snooker, Mahjong, but all need to pay/ Pool - pool is beautiful and big, there have 3 pool, but one pool already close down, it shouldnt happen. Breakfast buffet - it is nice, but variety should be more, as compare to other 5 star hotel, this buffet I can only give 4 star Dinner Buffett - Oyster not fresh, variety should have more

Great location

Grand entrance to this hotel makes an instant impression that is followed up by a kind and courteous staff. Location is perfect if you like to be on the edge of the action, just far enough away from everything to be quiet and peaceful but close enough to walk to everything you need. The Chinese love there horns and it was great to get away from them after many nights in city centres. Modern new wing of hotel has very well appointed rooms and the original high-rise building has the views, stayed in both after an upgrade for faulty fridge, no big deal but like my beer cold, and moved from new wing to old high rise with classic views. A great get away spot for some R&R after a long cold Canadian winter.If anything were to improve on anything or complain about something as everyone likes too, I would send a cleanup crew along the seawall of the property for garbage removal, 3-4 people could remove unsightly garbage in an hour or two that would uphold the impression of area, perfectly clean property everywhere till you look out on the ocean and then down at the beach littered in garbage.just a thought.

well designed and renovated hotel, close to beach

Love this most recent renovated hotel a lot, which has the most magnificent entry lobby, great amenities inside and outside, as well as the fantastic ocean view from guest rooms!

Very pleasant hotel with good service and nice views. My main source of resentment is that you have to pay for wifi in your room, which in the 21st century is ridiculous. The location is about 10-15 minutes' walk from the main Dadonghai beach board walk.

Super nice staff and convenient location

We stayed there for 5 days, the manager of the executive floor was extremely helpful and nice, the location is also very convenient for sightseeing and shopping. Maybe the only cons is that they don't have a in-door pool, definitely will come back again.

國際品牌酒店舒適整潔及服務態度,但安排酒店景觀太開揚,私穩度低. 加上自助餐食物雖然種類多,但不太好吃. 而且酒店位置不太方便, 又沒有免費按駁車出市中心, 比較美中不足.

都幾多設施用，spa幾舒服，因為旅行途中有d小意外，半夜落去reception問front desk邊度有藥賣有醫院，都好熱心答我，同埋都肯幫我買一d旅遊景點嘅門票同介紹我有咩好食，而房間都幾大幾好住

員工服務態度很好早餐種類很多。不過房間廁所有異味，不過房間整理得10分整潔，而且風景都10分良好，大致上都很滿意

氣派、整潔、舒服整體感覺都很棒的住宿體驗。服務特別好，員工都很親切。很喜歡面海的房間，躺在陽台的躺椅上可以賴著享受慵懶的假期。很棒！

비행기 타는 시간이 세벽이어서 쉬다가 공항가려고 하루묵었는데 호텔 너무 좋고 서비스도 너무 좋았어요.

唯一好就是清潔姐姐好nice.要求要小朋友拖鞋好快送來。酒店check in垃圾來形容。預定6間房時已經備註同一層去到既然可以分開5層仲有一間去左第二座。要自行不斷加壓先勉強安排三層之內，不知所謂，行去泳池要過大堂或者地庫，又遠又麻煩。食早餐飲品區好多蚊。。

我的眼鏡遺失在玩具室內，員工Chloe 很快的幫我找到和保留起來，真的很貼心，清潔人員李玉珍也很細心打掃衛生！下次還會再來！海灘和泳池都很棒.很棒的住宿經驗.

가성비 좋은 곳

발코니 룸으로 업그레이드 해줬어요. 그래서 그런지 크기나 시설이 가성비 좋다고 느껴졌고, 부대시설도 꽤 만족스러워요. 조식 맛있고 근데 시티쪽이라 숙박객이 워낙 많아서 북적북적해요.

내부 시설, 지리적 위치 좋음. 호텔스 닷컴 통해서, 더블룸1개, 트윈룸 1개 예약했는데, 더블룸 2개 배정됨. 컴플레인하니, 다음날 바꿔준다고 해놓고 연락 없어, 또 가서 컴플레인함. deposit 카드 결제 한거 환불도 안됨.. 메리어트 공홈에 메일 써도....시스템으로 메일 오는 듯 하고, 아무런 피드백 없음. 수많은 호텔 다녔지만, 이런 서비스 엉망인 곳은 처음

缺少必要的安全措施，适合度假不适合家庭旅游

酒店硬件条件不错的，但是安全隐患不小，妻子不小心摔了发现酒店连最基本的护理都不具备。

チェックイン時スタッフがタクシーのドアを開けてくれたり、荷物を持ってくれたり、お茶も出してくれて、サービスと態度はよく印象はとてもよかった。施設や部屋もきれいで、朝食も豊富だった。快適な3日間だったが、チェックアウト時のスタッフが冷たかったのと見送りがなかったのがちょっと残念だったかな。

酒店員工有禮熱誠，熱心幫忙，早餐是國際多樣化合胃口，泳池大，環境好，由泳池旁的海濱小路步行廿分鍾可以到達大東海灣，但也可以選擇由酒店提供的免費接駁車到幾個地標，乘的士到夏日廣場也只是9元，很是方便，酒店也有一個兒童遊樂園區，很適合一家來入住，總結來說值5分好評。
