We have stopped so many times, however recently things have been far less pleasurable. At Christmas, front of house service was poor. This time we were let down by a ‘policy’ (I quote the hotel) whereby if you have incurred cost over night in excess of your deposit you are barred from returning to your room when you temporarily leave the next morning for breakfast. We went for breakfast with our 5 week old baby and were locked out our room on return leaving us unable to access our child’s milk/bottles etc. Usually, you would expect a helpful response - a message on the tv perhaps asking to settle up the £99, or a nice call, however the exceptionally smug and unhelpful ‘front desk manager’ made sure his feelings were known. Having spent so much time here over the years, recent experiences with the front desk management have been poor. If you genuinely want a repeat business experience I would advise caution.
It was a pleasure to stay at this property with very helpful staff.
Check in took to long , asked for a twin room when booked and said it at check in , double bed in room . 3 times of asking the bed was eventually split in 2 . Wanted a coffee after a show we had been to was made to feel we were a bit of an inconvenience
Great hotel.
Not great!
Very dull room, with old fashioned furnishings feeling more like 3 or 4 star. Hard bed, cold marble floor in bathroom (no underfloor heating) towels covered heated towel rail so essentially bathroom not heated. Couldn’t connect tv/device. On the plus side, fabulous breakfast.
Lloyd.
We booked the hotel 4 months in advance as we have a small child so we booked a 50m2 room upon arrival we was allocated a smaller room than we booked and paid for back in August the room had a service elevator taking up half of it making the whole experience not as we booked.
Loved the hotel. Breakfast wasn’t much choice though
I loved my stay in the hospital. Very pleasant. The staff was very attentive. Excellent facilities. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, way more than I would expect for a 5-star hotel. Will definitely go there again.
Wonderful stay. The staff was very professional, kind and thoughtful. Service was amazing.
.
Internet service went out just before the zoom meeting and it caused quite a trouble
The check in process took quite a while and the poor gentleman did not explain why. He just kept disappearing. Breakfast in the room was awful. There is no other way to describe it and we paid £100 for it on top of the £700 + room fee. The room is corporate comfortable, not particularly stylish for the 5 stars but also understand the conference facilities make it corporate The young lady that left the breakfast giggled as she was in the room walking away toward the door. It made us feel very uncomfortable. We would not stay here again. It was not worth the money and the service was poor. The hotel was convenient but given that the hotel awards were taking place you would have expected better management of hoteliers and restauranteurs. The lady checking us out was lovely and much more efficient and warm.
Good hotel on the skirt of Mayfair, require a bit of walking to the center of the action.
Facility is aged and drainage very easy to get clogged. When dialing front desk for service help, either no answer, or respond very slowly. It is very noisy even after midnight, loud music playing and yelling by guests.
Great Hotel
Everything was perfect!
Wonderful staff
Best London Stay
Incredibly spacious rooms (for London they are GIGANTIC), beautifully appointed and classic. Easy access to everything and the staff just gets it right with service levels in every single part of the hotel. Thank you to the entire team from the front registration desk, both sets of doormen, the late night and early morning f&b team and most importantly your housekeepers who silently are the heros here where everything was beautifully maintained and lovely upon arrival each day.
As always excellent in every way. Staff pleasant and helpful going over and above at all time
Great hotel
.
The rooms are clean and tidy, the hotel is lovely and the staff are very accommodating. However, with a 3pm check in, we didn't get a room until 4.30pm. The room (on the first floor) was incredible noisy all night, as the service road and delivery bays are directly underneath. We didn't sleep at all. Incredibly over priced, but then that's due to the location ! All in all not worth the money.
Wonderful stay! Great location close to shopping, restaurants, and the underground. The staff was absolutely warm and welcoming. Room was big with adequate counter space . I can’t wait to go back!
Great location
Staff did follow up when there was an issue.
Highly Recommend
Great property in the heart of London. Close by to key sights and Michelin rated restaurants. The hotel itself is also top notch, starting with the Executive Lounge. Service was also great. Expensive relative to other options but if higher budget, it is worth the money for sure.
It was excellent. I would definitely recommend to all.
stain on sheets, no compensation, just offered an apology. Nice hotel however the cleanliness is very poor.
As usual , London and the hotel was excellent
Excellent staff, service, food and very comfortable.
It was amazing as always ! I was asked before the trip if it was any celebration and said was for my 65th birthday. We were upgraded to a lovely suite and when returned later in the day found we had been gifted a lovely chocolate Grover dog shaped cake with a card wishing me a happy birthday. The executive room for breakfast as always was good and enjoyed a chilled evening with complimentary wine! Already planning when to return for our next trip
It was really nice , the hotel staff were friendly
Disappointed
On arriving we were very impressed with the hotel, staff and room. However the experience in the restaurant was not as expected. There was a mouse in the restaurant and we did inform staff but were told that it hadn’t been in the kitchen but the staff were unaware of it being in the restaurant. There was an apology but no offer of of a drink or discount for helping them locate the mouse. Just being assured it had not been in the kitchen when we alerted them to it. Also the breakfast was not part of the room rate, even coffee and orange juice was lot included. This was not made clear, we liked the al cater menu and don’t mind paying for that but the continental and coffee, juice should have been included in room price. The executive lounge was very good and recommend that part. Overall for the price of the room I have had better experience and wouldn’t recommend.
Lovely hotel In A Great Location
Met up with friends here for a night out. Lovely hotel in a great location. Been here a number of times now. Highly recommend
CLOSE TO AMENINITIES AND RESTAURBNTS
A beautiful hotel with exceptional staff all of which were professional, friendly and courteous.
Overall, we had a fine stay. There were a few flaws. One is we were told at the checkin that they would call us when the room was ready, but they didn’t. Second, again at the checkin, we were not told that because we booked executive room, we could use the executive lounge for services like breakfast and afternoon services. Later we were credited to compensate the one day we missed these services. Other than these, the room was spacious, hotel was conveniently located, and team was generally friendly.
Lovely room. Very convenient location. Friendly service. Bit slow delivering luggage to room
Excellent property. Staff very friendly and the accommodation was fab.
Rooms could use a new revamp, old curtains and poor air circulation
Inadequate wardrobe space in the bedroom. Good king sized bed. Public rooms were excellent.
I would love to thank the recipient Mustafa , as he is really friendly, even though he wasn't able to extend my stay because the hotel is fully booked. He tried hardly and I left and I am happy. Because he is so professional.
Overpriced. The hotel smelled weird in the halls and rooms. The pillows were to thin. It's good location but in general I expected more
Very good. Staff great. Need to sell more rooms to Europeans though.
To get more space we ordered the family room. It was on level 1. Noisy. The bathroom and room is not what we expected from a 5* hotel.
Maitre’d in the restaurant lounge was spectacular. He accommodates every request. Very professional.
Staff was wonderful! Great location!
Weekend stay at marriott
Amazing stay at The Marriott, staff helpful and friendly, great location, excellent rooms and room service
For a JW Marriot property, I expect very high quality given outrageous prices, but the JW in London seemed old out of date and it smelled bad. The room cleaning was limited to fresh towels no vac as far I could tell. I was told check-in was a 3PM but when I arrived at:4:30 I was told I had to wait two hours and that they would call me on my cell but no one called when the room was ready
Beautiful facility! Great location! Spectacular Staff!!! We’ll be back!!! ❤️
OK Stay
we had a lousy choice of room 366 , that wasn't good to stay in , moved second day to a little bit better one 825 but still as a marriot member i wasn't treated well , neither with check out time i was given hardly 1 hour more
Be aware at the begin in they didn’t give us a good room it was small , old and not for a couple . But they change it for us after one night . Thanks to Mr. Tashin Shopnil. Thank you again mr. Shopini.
Everything
From the moment we walked in we knew this was going to be an exceptional experience. We arrived early in the morning from the United States and were offered breakfast in the lounge as well as a resting room while we waited for our room to be ready. Every person we encountered during our four-night stay could not have been nicer. The housekeeping staff, the doormen, the front desk staff, the concierge, the dining room staffs, everyone we encountered was friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. We had a fabulous time and hope to return soon. After a less than impressive stay four weeks ago at the Le Meridian on fifth avenue in New York City, this property restored my faith in Marriott properties. I
Very good location, the hotel need a facelift though....
Amazing stay
The worst experience ever
Nice location and the staff are polite and respectful ..
room not ready
very nice as usual. Only negative was on arrival were waiting over an hour after check in time did not get into room until 4.15pm room not ready which was very disappointing as Sunday so times of shopping restricted and wanted to get into room first. Resulted in not able to get to fortnum and mason as had wanted to as closed at 6pm
First class property. Great location.
Was as good as the London Ritz where we normally stay.
A perfect place to stay in London
Wonderful experience. Lovely ambiance. Beautiful floral displays in the foyer. Fantastic venue for the Farmer Weekly Awards Night.
Very clean and nice
Outstanding hotel in the heart of Mayfair
This is a great hotel near close by everything: great restaurant's, shopping, the park. And the staff is top notch. My room was a good size with lots of space, closet space and a good size bathroom.
Mayfair area
Great hotel in central London. Outstanding walking options. Staff was professional and attentive.
Great Hotel With Very Good Parking
Very nice hotel, friendly staff, parking was excellent and service is was super-snappy and quick. Ate in the JW Grill which was pretty good, not the best steak for £45 but wasnt bad. Check in and check out were excellent and all staff were very friendly and professional - will 100% stay here again.
Everything excellent and exceeded my expectations
It was to celebrate my wife’s birthday and our stay was fantastic and staff were great. The only thing is towards housekeeping and ensuring water, tea and bath robes are replenished. We had to call a couple of times. Apart from that fantastic stay.
Overall disappointing for the JW Marriott name. If you have ever stayed at a 5 star property, or are looking to stay in one, and you see this property has many stars but seems cheaper than the competition, know that there is a reason for this . . . Staffing shortages, check-in issues (promised to text/call when room was ready, spent hours waking zombie-like around London waiting for this call/text that never came) and long waits for luggage delivery abound. Property amenities lacking- there is no spa and only a cheesy American steakhouse themed restaurant. The hotel bar looks like a sketchy Vegas bar, red lighting included. The area is very nice- that is a great plus- but hopefully you won’t need a taxi. The back of the hotel faces Hyde Park, but the front with the drop off/pick ups is on a tiny quiet side street and when you ask for help getting a cab, that consists of the doorman standing on the tiny street just waiting for one to drive by- which doesn’t really happen. Overall would not stay here again. Wish we had sprung for a little nicer place- not sure how this one got so many stars.
Nice hotel, service impacted by being busy
Hotel was as expected and of good quality, what let it down was the service… Firstly we booked the hotel for parking but when we arrived we were informed they were full… these things happen but the when we asked for assistance on where we could park the advice and support was non existent Then we checked in the service was boarder line rude, yes we understand it was busy with events but I would expect all customers to be treated at the same level For the cost and a flag ship Marriott hotel I would have expected more
Understaffed, terrible service, room lacked provisions - Ferraris parked everywhere in front but none of the hotel basics like Concierge were provided, lobby mobbed at all times
Lovely hotel and staff are attentive
Our stay at the Grosvenor House was outstanding. Just what we needed for our week in London!
Only problem was 1st morning at breakfast and the Full English came without baked beans (which isn't really Full English). When I asked about it, the server said, "yes it should come with beans, I will bring you some". They never came so was kind of disappointed that mistake would be made in London.
Excellent location and breakfast
Awesome!
Excellent hotel on Park Lane, very friendly and attentive staff and stunning venue for a gala dinner too!
Fab stay!
Stunning hotel, amazing restaurant and lovely rooms. The one thing I’d change is the smell - it’s a fab scent in the main spaces downstairs, but it was in our bedroom too - and a bit too heady overnight - plus people were smoking in rooms near us too - so not ideal.
Amazing stay, great friendly staff, awesome variety at breakfast , me and my girls loved every minute, was very quiet as off season but I preferred it tbh. Will deffo be back !
So bad
Fantastic room and great location
We stayed here for an awards event taking place in The Great Room. Absolutely gorgeous double room. We had stylists booked to help us look fabulous and they were a little over-questioned by the door staff upon arrival which I thought was unneccessary. But the reception staff were courteous and arranged for them to reach our room rather than us having to fetch them from downstairs ourselves. The hotel itself was dressed beautifully for Christmas and we would have loved to have stayed longer to enjoy the surroundings.
The great customer service and steak house
loved everything food excellent everything excellent you will not be disappointed the smell of the hotel is devine staff fantastic thanks for a wonderful stay
Staff pleasant and courteous. Room very clean and hotel itself was quiet in the bedrooms. Executive lounge and the ladies working in that facility were top notch. Had been asked if we had an occasion happening for our stay which I emailed back to say it was our 30th wedding anniversary and the concierge replied that they would perhaps add a nice amenity which I took to mean a card/chocs etc. When checking in nothing was mentioned and nothing appeared over our stay. Whereas I don't expect someting for nothing, as I'd had an email suggesting they would do something I was disappointed. I mentioned it on check out and the FOH manager (Vivianne) sorted out a cheesecake for us which was lovely but would've been much nicer if we weren't rusing off to catch a train. In fairness they did apologise and did something for us but a shame we had to moan and it wasn't noted.
Not a pleasant stay.
Service was good. People are friendly. Furniture in room very old and uncomfortable. It was a bad smell in a room. Plumbing is old and didn’t work properly. We used to stay in this hotel before. And it was a nice experience. I wan’t stay there ever again.
A comfortable, clean and professional stay for my family. Thank you.
Fantastic stay at the Grosvenor House
Had a wonderful 3 night break in an Executive Suite. Lovely and spacious with every amenity required for an enjoyable stay. Nothing missing in my opinion. All staff professional and friendly and all wearing masks. Felt very safe. Breakfast had enough choice for us, as tend to eat the same thing anyway. Executive lounge was an added bonus, we grabbed a coffee before heading out. Hotel well located for the things we wanted to do and see on our trip. Will definitely stay again when next in London and highly recommend.
Staff helpful and location is great
The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great for access to many attractions. One of the beds in the room was uncomfortable but that could be the mattress wasn't to our liking but could be for others. The breakfast is expensive so we opted to eat around the corner at a place called Grosvenors (great recommendation from staff)
G
Staff were so friendly especially Tomas - who was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble! Such a lovely gentleman and amazing time! Thank you - we cannot wait to come back.
Great Hotel conveniently located and friendly and helpful staff
Not up to reputation
Bes was uncomfortable (mattress too hard), breakfast was medicre relative to price of hotel and when needing to speak to someone in hotel, I could not get through (and still have not been able to). Disappointing for the reputation it has
Excellent location, friendly staff
A small problem with our room, quickly taken care of. Not quite fully running yet (week 1 after restrictions partially lifted) and everyone working hard to make guests welcome
Excellent
Amazing Service
The experience in the hotel was amazing and really peaceful. Very perfect if you want to do a staycation.
We had a lovely experience at the hotel The location is perfect for eating out and shopping.
Great hotel!
3 of us couples stayed here last Saturday night as part of my mums 60th birthday celebrations. We arrived 3 hours before check in and asked to leave our bags with them, however they actually checked us in as our rooms were ready. We all also got a complimentary room upgrade as I had told them it was a special occasion. The staff at reception were lovely. Rooms were big, immaculately clean and beds very comfy. Before dinner (if you stay here, please eat at a restaurant down the road named Le Gavroche, it was spectacular), we went down to the bar for a drink and the lady at reception had organised a complimentary bottle of champagne (of our choice!) with a table for us. It was a perfect start to my mums birthday. Thank you so much for your generosity! Would 100% recommend this hotel.
Great Hotel to Stay In London

Really liked atmosphere, history and decor. Breakfast and service excellent. Slow response to request to help with TV problems from concierge, so much so that we cancelled the request as we couldn’t relax whilst waiting.
