Great location with garage next door.
Great location, very central and with a very well priced garage next door. The room felt a bit small and the bathroom was tiny. Gorgeous breakfast!
Lovely Reims
Great location Very helpful friendly staff
Its location was excellent, centre of city with car park next door.
This is a fun little hotel in a great location. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but small. The bathroom was clean and a good size. We would come back for the convenience and value.
Location was good to both restaurants, cafes, and the Cathedrale. Room was very small, plumbing was poor, and there was no air-conditioning.
Reims is a quiet town. Here for the World Cup so hotel accommodations were limited. Friendly staff. Air conditioning is non existent. Only had one outlet.
Great location and cute little hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and the breakfast is good too. It’s not an upscale hotel but we felt very comfortable and cozy.
Traditional French Hôtel
Very friendly and nice staff who fulfilled my wishes.
What a delight. We have stayed here five times over the last seven years. Keeps getting better. Watched Reims Cathedral light up with beautiful lights from our window.
Location in Reims was great to go anywhere, two blocks to the Cathedral, close to restaurants.
Location was good, staff pleasant, room clean and bright with a good radiator. The stairs and landings looked bit tatty.
Thought i was booking a jotwl in Sudbury Canada not Paris France noticed it immediately snd they wouldnr refund so i had to pay fir a hotel in sesrch area I chose
Friendly, good location, smallest room ever
The location, just down the road of the cathedrale, is superb and the owner are super friendly. However, this is pretty much it. It’s probably the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in, which is ok, if one just needs to sleep and not more. Taking a shower, changing clothes, etc., especially if you are more than one person in a room, is quite a challenge.
Excellent location. Parking garage next door is convenient. Staff were very helpful and cheerful.
Good, basic hotel for city break
Hotel rooms are small and basic but good use is made of the space. As other reviewers have mentioned there is some street noise but this is expected in a city centre location. Warm welcome, friendly staff. Good breakfast with lovely coffee. Great location very close to the cathedral, ideal base for s short city break. Large, secure, underground pay car park next door, currently €16 for overnight stay. Good value room, particularly in view of the hotels location so close to the cathedral.
Good, well-run central traditional French hotel
We found the hotel really easy to find from the motorway, even though it's in the town centre. It's on a lovely road leading up to the elegant facade of the Cathedral. Parking was easy because it was Sunday...although there are restrictions/payments during the week. The welcome at the hotel was lovely, and the rooms are as i imagined: classic old French hotel rooms brought into the 21st century style-wise. We found everything we needed, including good tea and coffee stuff, decent shower, tv etc. Reasonably nice views out over Reims. Beds clean and comfortable, wide. The breakfast was very competent and fresh, good croissants etc and the owner accommodating my unruly children really well! I would definitely stay here again and recommend. The small private hotel is a much more fun experience than budget hotels and not over-priced. It was a great location for touring the city, eating and lovely park for the kids (Patte d'Oie). Reims itself is a lovely city, often overlooked!
Ideal location to see everything in Reims. The cathedral is just beautiful and interesting to read about a it’s history.
Super deal
Very central to cathedral. Pleasant welcome and helpful regarding local area. Easy parking.
Disappointed with this hotel
Although the reception was well decorated, our room was on the third floor, no lift and only two electrical sockets in the room, no air conditioning, just a fan which was OK, we needed more sockets in the room to plug another fan that we brought just for this reason, the decor was tired and brown stained all around the plug hole in the shower and the shelf above the bathroom basin was ill placed that you would bump your head when you cleaned your teeth or had a shave. Breakfast too expensive at 11 euros so we ate at another hotel.
Perfect for a budget traveler w/ great location
The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed here for 1 night and enjoyed the room. It is in a great location to the Cathedral and very close the pedestrian walkway with shopping and dining. The room itself is nothing special. Two double beds and a large bathroom. What was nice was the fact they had a fan in the room which made the summer heat bearable. Very thoughtful of the hotel. This hotel is a budget hotel that is perfect for families travelling on a budget! Between the service and the location, I would recommend staying here.
Good budget hotel in centre ville Reims
Literally down the road from the cathedral, minutes away from the main shopping and restaurant area Rue Theodore Dubois, and conveniently located next to the Cathedral underground Carpark (16 Euro for overnight stay). Old style town hotel; nice welcome and staff. Rooms are adequate and comfortable for an overnight stay. Beds comfortable and clean, bathrooms adequate. Breakfast pleasant/adequate.
Hotel de la Cathederal in Reims is very well located for the city centre but that also makes it a bit noisy(street noise). It was very clean the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and available until 10am.
Great location and friendly staff, but the bathroom facilities need some work especially the communal toilet on the first floor
Exceptional location
The hotel itself wasn't anything particularly impressive, but there was honestly nothing that we have to complain about. The rooms are acceptable, though a little small for 3-4 people in a double, with a small shower/bathtub. The service was good, responsive and present. They allowed for luggage storage after we checked out. Located down the street from the Notre Dame of Reims and the commercial shopping was incredibly convenient. If you don't have a car and are on a budget, this was a good deal for a group of 7 travelers.
Top Spot Hotel!
Clean and helpful friendly staff!
Perfect location, in view of the cathedral
I would recommend staying at this hotel if you are in Reims for a short visit to see the sites. It's well situated to the cathedral and all of the other important monuments. The staff are warm and welcoming and the breakfast is plentiful and well worth the additional price. If you have a car, parking is very close, right around the corning in the Parking de la Cathédrale. Overnight cost was 16EUR.
Great Location,
Very nice staff, Had a great time in this city would highly recommend the stay in this Hotel and a visit to the Cathedrale
Nice little place, very handy. just needs a lift for the heavy luggage
Convenient location
An cheap hotel with lovely staff, the only concern was that the room was a little dirty and the bathroom had flakey paint and is a little run down!
Perfect Position
This is not a luxury hotel but, as a base to explore and see the city, it's ideal. Dominated by the cathedral, a mere 200 metre up the road, one can't but be inspired by the grandness of the view when one steps out of the front door. Amenities are sufficient to use the hotel as a base to explore the Champagne region. Parking is limited but one can park outside the hotel for free overnight from 19.00 to 09.00 which suited us. The city centre is a short walk away.
Small budget hotel
Nice budget hotel, you get what you pay for hotel showing some age but all in all would stay here again for the price.
Old hôtel with no elevator but excellent location
Excellent location but old hotel with no elevator or air conditioning
Good value hotel, right in the middle of town
Good value hotel, clean room, easy to get to and with convenient local parking (underground parking just 50 metres away, where you have to pay, and an open air car park about 150 metres away in Rue Clovis which is free (but busy!). Only a few hundred metres walk to the cathedral and then on into the centre of town. Only criticism is that the room is small (which makes it good value) and the shower room similarly. If you're happy with value for money rather than luxury, then this is a great place to stay.
Older hotel but very clean, good value/ location
Stayed for 2 nights as a couple. We are both very active and walked to all locations within town. We chose not to rent a car or go to Epernay-- decided our visit was going to be more about relaxing with minimal fuss. Good central location - 10 min from train station and 5-10 min from main shopping and food areas. 5 min to Notre Dame cathedral, 30 min to St Remi Basilica. 20-30 min walk to Taittangier and Mumm which we visited on separate days as they were on opposite ends of the town. We rented a triple room as doubles were out and found it plenty roomy. Overall hotel was old but immaculately clean and well maintained. Our bathroom was a little dated but again clean. No shower stall in our room, but had bath with showerhead and plenty of hot water which we had to be a little careful when aiming as no curtain or glass around tub... but no big deal for 2 nights.
Fantastic location, great value
Fantastic location, great value for the money, professional and accommodating staff, very clean The single rooms are small with a tiny bathroom but fine for a short stay
Location, location, location
This hotel is all about location! Just a short walk to the Reims Cathedral (we could view it from our hotel window). The other bonus is that underground parking is right next door. It was very easy to drive to and find. The hotel is older and we were aware in advance that there were no elevators, so we packed a small bag to take with us to the room and left our heavy suitcases in the car. Just a suggestion if you plan on staying here. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel so we cannot comment on it. If you stay in Reims, you may want to research restaurants in advance. We walked the at least a km in each direction of the cathedral in search for a reasonably priced restaurant. We found it strange that there weren't more restauarants in the tourist area and there were only a few souvenir shops. We opted for a Moroccan restaurant - Riad - excellent customer service, but a tad expensive (around $100 for 2).
God location
Very helpful reception staff. Small room, good location and very clean. Have notice my debit card is showing a deduction for two nights stay though. although I only had one so I don't know what has happened here
One night review
Our trip was stop over for one night. This hotel is cheap for a reason. The room was small but the bathroom tiny. The bathroom so tiny it was almost unusable, smaller than Premier Class if you can believe that. Also there was no air conditioning. Unfortunately these two things overwhelmed the fact that the location is very good.
Hotel de la Cathedrale
Very good hotel as a base for a short break. Our room was clean and adequately furnished. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom a good size. The hotel is ideally situated for visiting local attractions and restaurants and is only one minute walk away from a multi-storey car park which was fairly reasonably priced. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
Great location
This hotel was in a great location....down the street from the Cathedral of Reims... but the decor and room was very plain....I'd rate as a 1 star.
Basic but good
Small and basic, but a literal stones throw from city center. Very nice staff.
A good fine. Great location.
Good size family room. Recently refurbished. Impressed by the sound proofing in the room. Stairs were punishing, so be warned about the lack of lift/elevator.
Good stop over en route from Verbier to Calais.
Good stop over point. Clean and good value at £68 for a family of 4 people en route from Verbier to Calais. Very handy location to visit the Cathedral and close to restaurants nearby. Perfect for an overnight stop.
So much potential!
Great location but overall impression is tatty. Seemingly in the midst of refurb and they couldn't quite afford to pay the decorator to finish it off. Would be a great place with some investment. No lift, no Parking.
Friendly
Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Slept like a log.
Avoid this one.
Realize that this hotel is in the heart of the city and you can only park in a parking garage which adds 12e a day to the cost. The location was great for the Christmas Market and a quick walk to the Cathedral. The rooms were very small with a double bed against the wall. The bathroom addition was no bigger than 6'x2'. The beds were horrible, old and sank into the middle of the bed. Would not go back.
Very good location, but needs updating.
No elevator! Our room was on the 4th floor, with a very narrow stairway. The room was very small for 2 people, and in desperate need of updating. Staff was exceptional, which somewhat made up for the room. Very close to the pedestrian mall, cathedral & marketplace.
No elevator but it's close to the Cathedral
For one night, the hotel met our needs. The rooms are clean but small and the bathrooms are tiny, but if you've traveled much in Europe you've encountered this before, so you shouldn't find anything particularly surprising about size. Our only real regret is that when we booked we didn't carefully weigh the disadvantage of the hotel having no elevator. If you stay here, be prepared to haul all your luggage up four narrow flights of stairs. On the plus side, the hotel is in a great location, very near the Cathedral of Reims and easy (20 min) walking distance to the excellent restaurant we chose for dinner, Le Boulingrin. And there's a handy underground parking garage only a half block away, just around the corner.
Good location but disappointing room
Hotel located on the same street of the cathedral and next to a parking where car can stay overnight safely. Room is very disappointing: bed resulting in back pain in morning, dirty carpet and bathroom with a very tired shower where the water does not flush away properly. Breakfast in a tiny room overcrowded by tables and not great value for the price.
Great stop for Eurotunnel return to the UK
It's our second stay in Reims and at the Cathedral Hotel. Very clean, comfy beds, fab location near the Cathedral, of course, also only a short walk from the restaurants. Great value.
Just about OK for the price
We used this hotel for one night while travelling home to the UK, 4 adults and 3 children. The lady on reception was very polite and friendly. Hotel is right in the city centre and everything is a short walk away, ample parking and easy to find. Hotel is in need of modernisation in décor and facilities. Room was not so clean, hot with no aircon and noisy with window open. Breakfast was 8 Euro each for a continental selection of rolls or Croissants plus yoghurt and drinks.
Excellently located city-centre hotel
The best thing about Hotel de la Cathedrale is the location - just a short walk from the cathedral, which is incredible, and the main square with restaurants, shops etc. The rooms are small but adequate, the real downside for us was the noise in the evening - being so centrally located, there was a lot of passing traffic and noise kept us awake well into the night.
central location, clean, friendly
Friendly, very helpful staff, great location close to the Cathedral (don't miss the 11pm light show on the Cathedral -- it's awesome!). Room on the 4th floor was small and rather warm (in July), and bathroom and carpets needed some fixing up, but nice for a 3-star and clean comfortable bed.
Super Convenient
Parking garage around the corner, lots of food options nearby, and cathedral one long block over. Room just barely accommodated two queens, a desk and armoire, but bathroom was spacious. Everything was clean.
Good location
The facilities are dated but the hotel is in an excellent location. It's a long climb to the top floor in hot weather.
Simple hotel very close to Reims Cathedral
Perfect, simple location close to Cathedral. No bells & whistles, but just what you need if you want to spend one night in Reims & be clost to Cathedral.
Hotel close to city center & cathedral
We booked a 4 x person Family Room for 2 of us, because a double bed was too small for two people! Room dreadful, small, dirty carpets and noisy. Bath needs to be re-enameled. Pigeons on cage outside bathroom made dreadful noise in morning. Both rooms in need of serious redecoration. Expensive for what you got, breakfast NOT included! Staff pleasant, good parking and beds comfortable, otherwise nothing to recommend it.
Great location,
Friendly staff, tired room! Clean but needs an update. carpet was stained and threadbare, but great location. Noisy with windows open (it was very warm if not) and no aircon or working fan.
Location good, but that's all
This hotel is very conveniently located, but that's about all. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the place is in urgent need of a full re-furbishment. The photos are deceiving. There is no lift and no disabled access. The rooms were dirty and smelly as was the rest of the hotel. Our room door (and others) had the room number written on in pencil. The room had two twin beds, but you couldn't get anything else in there. The bathroom was tiny and I mean tiny (you can just about stand in there) and the draw across folding door to the bathroom was falling to pieces, so absolutely no privacy.
Ok for a night or 2
Great for a short visit of a night or 2: close to the cathedral and walking distance to all restaurants and cafes
Above and beyond the call of duty........
The central location is perfect, the rooms are fine, but the staff is simply awesomely good. We left our iPad there, and I explained on the telephone in my fractured French. The lady at the desk (proprietor?) mailed it to us at our next hotel in Paris. She called ahead to make sure the hotel knew to expect a package for us. It was a very god feeling to know she had it under control.
Central location
Location was very central to everything without being too close to the slightly seedy bar area. right next to the cathedral and easy walking distance to some local eats. The hotel itself was slightly old and some things like the toilet handle and door wasnt in great shape and needed a firm push to close properly. Our room door was smaller and looked like a boiler room door and the number 23 was pencilled in. Service was lovely.
Hotel with character and great location.
This hotel was perfect for a 2 night stay in Reims with my sister. It is about 8 minutes from the train station and right next to a great area with tons of restaurants and shops. There is a great bakery next to the hotel with delicious French breads and pastries. Also, it is a few blocks from the beautiful Notre-Dame de Reims. We were able to see the hotel from our window. The hotel is older, but it has been kept up and the owner is a very sweet lady. I would definitely stay here again. The only thing I disliked was the WIFI. It had a great connection, but you had to log in every time you came back. It was super annoying. Besides that, everything was perfect. We loved the charm and its convenient location.
Hotel near to cathedral in Reims.
Absolutely fine hotel for stop-over. Clean, comfortable and great location. Very good price too.
Wonderful location, great hotel
We spent two nights in Rheims to visit the cathedral and nearby sites. We arrived on a Sunday, and discovered that a parking lot nearby is not open on Sundays, but we were able to find convenient parking on the street. The Christmas market had filled nearby pedestrian streets with booths that we explored. Restaurants nearby offered a wide range of food. We toured the Taittinger champagne company in town (multiple tours daily) which took us into underground vaults that date to Roman times and ended, of course, with a tasting of excellent champagne. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and we enjoyed visiting sites associated with a medieval theologian, William of St. Thierry. Our group included four adults and two small children, and the hotel provided an infant bed and a high chair at breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Good location; older hotel (but nice)
The hotel is located very close to the Cathedral. We stayed on night just passing through. Our triple room was very small, but adequate for our needs. The bathroom was also small, but fine. For the price and location, the hotel was fine.
Two star hotel in the centre of Reims
Straight forward one night stay, nice helpful receptionist, good night sleep, hot shower, easy check out.
Hotel in great central location
Booked family room so friend and I had own beds. 3 night stay to enjoy cathedral and visit to champagne caves.
comfy clean bed
They need a cleaner, and a decorator, and new carpets, service was good and very helpful, but I would not recommend it to anyone, 2 out of 10.
Very near the cathedral
Tiny room but extremely clean and wonderfully comfortable beds. Excellent value for money.
Good location
Very good location, friendly staff and reasonably priced. ould definitely stay there again
Great location
Close to Cathredal. Much to see in walking distance. The 4 bed room was abit small but everything else super. If I visit Reims again I will book it again.
Perfect budget base to explore Reims
The hotel was exactly what we were looking for - somewhere right in the heart of Reims, with pretty basic facilities reflected in the price, which was terrific value. If we'd wanted somewhere more spacious and luxurious, we would doubtless have had to pay a lot more. As it was, our room looked on to the pretty tree-lined avenue outside, where we were able to leave our car within safe view. The hotel was a stone's throw from the Cathedral so provided a brilliant base from which to explore the city. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room clean (if a bit on the small size as an en-suite had been squeezed in to one corner. If you are on the large size, you probably wouldn't fit in it!) Wi-fi free and easy to connect to. No complaints!
Close to the Reims Cathedral and the art museum
The hotel is old, yet not unpleasant if you are looking to save a buck. The manager is very pleasant, and rooms are very clean. If you do not feel like climbing stairs, ask for a room near the bottom because there is no lift and the stairs are steep Not suitable for folks with knee problems!
The hotel is great for the price. It is in a great location, right by the cathedral and close to shops and the main part of town. The front desk was very helpful and let us store out bags after we had checked out.
Exceptional location to Cathedral,Shops,Restaurant
Perfect location. We had a small balcony, so look left and the Cathedral was just down the road. Street parking (metered) available surrounding. Easy 2 minute stroll to shops and restaurants. Bakery, supermarket right opposite. Hotel is starting to age but management is working hard to upkeep it and you just can't beat the location.
bla bla
't was ok
Super sejour a Reims
Posizione fantastica, parcheggio (a pagamento) comodissimo
Perfect location and great value for money
Very nice hotel in excellent location. Paid car parking in the building next door. Staff very friendly. Hotel doesn’t have a lift so anyone with mobility issues would struggle with the stairs. We will regularly use this hotel en route to other locations in France as it great value for money.
