THE HOTEL IS SLIGHTLY PRICY. WE HAD TO PAY EXTRA TO ENTER THE THEME PARK. SUGGEST TO LET THE GUEST FREE INTO THE THEME PARK. OTHERWISE THE HOTEL IS SUPERB.

overall, it was nice!

I arrived at the hotel at 10am, did my pre registration before check in. 20mins later, I was informed that my room was ready 10.20am. My family and I didn’t have to wait until 12pm check in time! Super impressed with the fast service! Thank you so much!

Great to have direct access to the waterpark and live music in the evenings. Good luck getting any drinks at all! Worst bar service ever!

Proximity to the Waterpark.

Resort was right beside the water park. There was also a free kids water park for younger kids within the resort. Enjoyed the playground next to the buffet restaurant. We had a good time with our little one during Christmas. Would stay again.

Obvious Efforts to provide good service. But hotel (building) looks and feel like a dorm. My room had a good view of the water park. Breakfast good spread, but nothing special. Instead of dining in, I dine out, better deal.

Great stay for family

Kids had lots of fun, good stay for families, breakfast was good too!

Nice property and great for younger kids. No much to see or do around the areas but good to just chill. Pool is small but there is direct access to Waterpark.

Hotel facilities were good. Due to the size of the hotel, some rooms were pretty far from the lobby, would require some time to walk. Loved that the in demand movies were quite updated and you can spend time in your room for a movie marathon. Breakfast selection was alright, also had a section for kids. Generally would return if on non peak periods.

Lights not working when checked in to the room. Called for help to repair it. Took awhile to come. Was using the tap water and suddenly the water dispensed out from the tap was super yellow and muddy. Super disgusting as I was washing up. Again called the front desk and they came to fix the filter in the tap. No apologies from the hotel. Almost like this wasn’t the first time such thing happened. For a reputable 5 star hotel, these encounters are terrible.

Quiet and pleasant.

Comfortable and warm feeling

Didn’t expect much from the hotel as the property is of some years. Came as a surprise that the property is well maintained and the staff were very friendly. Comfortable for couple getaway.

Excellent hotel located at a quiet place with water park view and it is just a stone throw away from the beautiful beach. Fantastic breakfast and great live band every night. Really enjoy the 2 night stay. Did not enter the water park but it seems quite exciting too.

I love this hotel. It's huge with many rooms. The service is excellent. Salman has been very helpful at the concierge. He is friendly, attentive and professional in doing his job. The decor is fabulous and the breakfast spread is good. The only downside is the transportation at night to go back to the hotel. There is no Grab available and taxis will charge you with a very high price. I think Desaru must look into this matter. It's hard for us to move about as tourists. Time is so precious to us. Overall, Hard Rock Hotel is highly recommended! A very pleasant and relaxing stay.

Friendly and rocking staff.. Especially the restaurant manager Firdaus who was accomadive and helpful during my stay.. Sweetnightmare band was also amazing like rockstars..

A pleasant stay

The room is clean and comfortable, offering a pleasant stay. Guests can enjoy convenient shuttle service to the Westin’s private beach across the road, and the nextdoor waterpark offers multi-entry privileges exclusively for Hard Rock guests. However, the breakfast falls short of a 5-star standard.

Desaru stay

My stay was pleasant. Breakfast is very good. Very extensive. Pool is very small. Share beach with Westin. I had dinner buffet in Westin. $50 SG and we love it. Will probably stay in Westin next as location is in front of the beach.

Family-friendly hotel with a waterpark at its backdoor. :)

Room is big and spacious with balcony. Not sure if aircon piping is leaking or condensation but the floor area near the aircon is slightly damp. Enjoyed the live band at restaurant area 🙌 beach is walkable from hotel via westin lobby ~ 3mins. Overall enjoyed our stay there

Lively atmosphere at night due to the live band. Music can also be heard from the Water Park. Generally a very 'happening' hotel. Good vibes. Room is dim. Would be better if room can be brightened as some travellers are there for meeting and at night some might need to work in the room. Check-in & out could be at standard time (3pm & 12 noon). The hotel check-in/out time surprises me (4pm & 11am)...though this can be negotiated with the Reception.

the grooming of the housekeeping staff can be improved. requested additional pillows for my room and when the pillows were brought over, it smelled of stale cigarettes, most likely transferred over from the housekeeping staff

Even though spotted some ants in my room , it was an overall good experience at the hotel. Many selections of movies and bed was comfortable.

overall experience is good, property is nice and 5 star hotel experience. however the water heater is inconsistent, have to leave the water running for few minutes before the hester kicks in which is not eco friendly

Great hotel! We loved our stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Desaru. Super kid friendly, plenty of activities to keep our kids busy throughout the day, highly recommend the Kids Club. The staff was super friendly and attentive, the room was clean and comfy. I will be back for sure

Hard rock Desaru is convenient and great for family who is visiting the water theme park, love the spacious room and turndown service. Breakfast and food/ cocktails at the Rock royalty lounge can be improved.

The hotel was quite unorganized and unhygienic to certain degree inside the room. The carpet was dusty and the tables were very unclean. The breakfast was horrible to say the least and nothing at the resort makes you feel welcome or premium. There is bad view of just the waterside park with loud noises. It is ok if you have kids and want that view but for singles or couples with no kids, it was quite a chaotic energy. Overall staff has been rather unpleasant and indifferent. A simple ask from housekeeping could need minimum 3 calls before you get some kind of response. Elephant restaurant is actually VERY GOOD but the level 1 restaurant is QUITE HORRIBLE. Overall, if you don’t have kids and looking for a nature or party vibe, this may not be the right place.

Enjoy the buggy service to and fro Hard Rock and Westin. Choice of food options can be improved.

Room was nice . Breakfast options were great.

Check in check out was inefficient and slow. Daily rock band with loud music till 11 pm which can be heard and felt in your rooms. Lots of babies and kids screeming and shouting around the resorts and pool. Good luck.

Comfort and service and the food was not bad

The room is comfortable and nicely designed but check in time is quite long, the pool is too small, the buffet breakfast is not up to expection. Juice has no taste, fruit is sour and choices are not much. Overall it’s not worth for the price we paid.

Overall good property, nice food, convenient location. In room dining was not a good experience as phone inside room was not working and order placed was never confirmed. When checked with reception they could not confirm on room service either. This needs to change.

The room was filthy, the hotel food was awful. The water park next door was very disappointing.

The property badly needs a renovation and, for nearly the exact price, I would definitely recommend the Westin next door. I thought the family-friendly aspects would justify my selection but there's no real family benefits. The facilities are mediocre and the food is pretty poor. Again, the Westin is far better. We ended up eating there mostly. While some of the staff were terrific, I felt like there wasn't anyone in charge. The regular staff seemed to do what they wanted, including the music playlists. One day around the pool, they played an EDM track that repeated motherf***er over and over again. I had to find the music guy to switch it off. So much for family friendly.

4th generation Family trip

it was good experience to have most of my booking on the same floor except rock suite which is too far for the elderly to walk to enjoy the environment.

Property was amazing, staffs were friendly and smooth check in process however the foods were overpriced and doesnt meet the expectation with what we've paid. Room was great with waterpark view, bed was comfy too. My son really had a great time.

The hotel room were spacious and nice

We booked a family suite and thoroughly enjoyed the royalty club perks. The cocktails and food was especially pampering. Would like to praise staff - Puvan (staff who was cleaning), Kawalan and staff who was on duty on 11 Feb noon at the carpark gantry. They were especially courteous and helpful. They attempted to offer useful information on top of what we requested, even though their command of English was limited. They replied with a gesture (hand on their chest) when they wanted to convey "you are welcome". They truly practiced what they were trained in. Would like to suggest offering ala carte food at sessions restaurant at night. If you are into live band performances, hard rock has both good music and ambience! The children were delighted with the suite experience and I would highly recommend it to families with young children.

Room was too cold. A/C switch not working properly. TV remote was not working as well.

Overall is good stay over the new year holidays. Staff are quite helpful and the room is spacious and well designed. But facilities a bit run down as wet during rainy day. Breakfast food choices quite limited. Carpark space is also limited as new years count down party not enough parking lots for hotel guests and walk in guest.

A Rockin' Getaway at Hard Rock Hotel Desaru!

A Family trip/ father birthday/ wedding anniversary at the Hard Rock Hotel Desaru. The staff at Hard Rock Hotel Desaru deserves a special shoutout for their exceptional hospitality. Although at the beginning have some miss confusion, they went above and beyond to ensure my family stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Thanks to Mr Izwan, for upgrading all our rooms to Rock Royalty rooms and access to Rock Royalty Lounge. Thanks to Ms Ina and team in the lounge. Their genuine friendliness and attentiveness made me feel like a VIP. The room itself was nothing short of fantastic. Clean, spacious, and adorned with rock memorabilia, it was a perfect blend of luxury and rock 'n' roll charm. The attention to detail in the room's design was impressive, with even the smallest elements reflecting the music-themed ambiance of the hotel.

Satisfactory experience

Room aircon is way too cold even after the technician had done several adjustments. Bed is way too soft for comfort. Room does not have adequate lighting. Way too dark

Great family stay at Hardrock Desaru

Spacious, well maintained rooms with unbeatable access to the waterpark. The beach was a buggie ride away. We were totally spoiled by the royal rock lounge which came with the suite. Cocktails free flow between 5 - 7pm! Concierge was knowledgeable and gave great advice.

Nice & clean hotel. Fast checkout using the room tv. Very convenient.

Quite relax in Hotel but got not much places to go outside hotel… Mini Zoo and Fireflies cruise must go…😁

Super place for a family holiday. Transport to move about may be a little tricky if you don't have your own vehicle.

The biggest perks of staying at Hard Rock Hotel was the convenience of going to the waterpark and coming back from it. It also meant we were allowed multiple entries in and out on the same day, giving us flexibility. The hotel is kids friendly, having alot of open space for kids to run around, emphasize safety by providing life jackets for kids when they use the swimming pool, have a stool in the toilet for kids to use as well. The purple blue lights at night on the hotel's facade gave the disneyland feel as well. There was good service provided with free buggy services to and fro Westin hotel, allowing for easy access to the beach as well. There's a cafe at the hotel, allowing for cafe vibes to chill which is great. There's a wide range of movies available on their tv which made it tempting to stay in the room whole day. The swimming pool is a decent size with sun decks available, and for those who like live bands, there is one that performs at night. Overall memorable stay we had!

the worst property ever

Property manager did service recovery on the feedback regarding the checkin process. The room safe "lock" button was not working at times. Feedback to front desk during check out.

Rockin’ Holiday

We enjoyed our stay and we will come back again. Excellent staff service especially from the Rock Royalty Lounge team. The Grind cafe and the sweet shop gave us very good alternative to in-dining menu. We also liked that the hotel is very serious in its sustainability efforts by providing flasks in each room and having water taps for drinking in each floor near the lifts. The e-service is also very good and we liked that we can check our bill every night. Overall, Hard RockDesaru Coast did not disappoint and it was a great holiday across the straits.

Quite a happening hotel to stay in. Live band on nights we were there. Near to the beach, just pass through Westin and we’re there. Can take a buggy ride to Westin.

Hard Rock hotel Desaru is good for its location as its beside the Adventure Waterpark. Service staff is good but the food quality to be frank, is rather poor. Food at town area is much better ironically.

Fun hotel for young kids

Great location for a family holiday as it was just next to the water park which we spent half a day at. It is also a short walk away from the beach which was amazing and our son thoroughly enjoyed digging on!

Found cockroach in the room

The staff professionalism -smooth check-in with smiles even when the day a scorching hot one. Willingness to explain in detailed when asked questions. I love the staff at Hard Rock Hotel. One thing the hotel should look into is the F&B which I think more dining options should be made avail to guests. Thank you Hard Rock Hotel.

Overall, my family & I enjoyed our stay at Hard Rock. Jus a little hiccups.. which we were not informed abt the additional charge for breakfast. I’ve booked for a room for 2 adults & 1 child with breakfast. However, I was informed during Check out that there is a additional breakfast charge for my child becoz she is over 6 years old. I’ve paid additional for the room for 2 adults & 1 child with breakfast. I’m not sure why I need to pay for this additional breakfast charge. I’ve checked with Expedia, and they have confirmed my booking is with breakfast. Anyway in the end, with no choice, we just paid. I hope this clause can be stated clearly during booking .

Love the cleanliness and convenience of Adventure Water Park just steps away. Will love wider choices in the breakfast and dining options within the hotel.

Location is good. It has a direct entrance to adventure waterpark, can go in/out multiple times until closing time. Breakfast spread is nice. Try the pandan pancake, my kids love it. We love the room and the small balcony. It is not beach front but can access the beach by about 5mins walk passing thru Westin. Check in/out is easy. We were allowed early check-in at 10am, no charge.

Every Staffs are polite and friendly. Great services and good job! We did enjoyed the evening Live Band! Awesome and cool Singer. She sang well. One short feedback was that serving beers or beverages waiting time needs to improve. Overall our family did enjoyed our stay. Keep it up! 👏👍

Good stay!

Very happy with our stay at Hard Rock Hotel but this is definitely note a Kids friendly hotel, especially for young kids: no changing tables in the washrooms, the dedicated pool for children. The 2 Double Beds room is actually quite small with small beds. Staff and service are great though. The evening buffet and breakfast are also very good! 👍

Very poor amenities. Pool out of order. Restaurant by the pool poor with fences for a view. Only other restaurant was buffet. Too busy and could not get a table. Food cold and looked as if it had been out for hours. Checked out a day early and not even a question why. Totally disorganised transport boys. Never will visit again.

Poorly maintained. Pool was undergoing maintenance though hotel gave us access to the adventure park during stay. Wifi is very slow. Food is not nice. Noisy at night

Key facilities are good

One of our room is good, the other room 513 has some issue with aircon tmeperarure setting which we cannot adjust the temperature. The tap for the shower is also not working well. Other thab this, all is well and good. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Some Areas of Improvement

Experience upon check-in is great! To get to the room is very very far (Room 356). Don't leave anything behind or you will cry inside to patah balik and get your things. Room size was okay. Balcony was not clean & dusty. Called house keeping - did not turn up. Bathroom has ants - not sure why and how. Bed was okay. TV was miserable. Changed remote and still problem. The channel will hang whenever u watch any program. U have to remove the battery EVERYTIME you want to switch to other channels. Very very hassle. Breakfast was disappointing too. Credit only to the hot chocolate machine. Very frustrated as I have a very high expectations on the food - at least as good as other HRs in Malaysia. The live band - I don't why... they are not playing through out out stay. Not sure what went wrong... out timing or theirs??? From the live TV pulak it has been muted. Apa laaa... Parking was free if you validate your card... but... it was very very far from your room. Overall it was a fun stay to the kids... especially the waterpark. And yaaaa... All staffs were friendly and kind.

Excellent place

Good Hotel for Family

The hotel room was not ready upon my arrival but we were offered a welcome drink for the whole family. The environment is generally nice but it's a busy resort. Breakfast on first day was quite terrible but Nigel from the restaurant was EXCELLENT, he took my feedback and the next few days the food was better. Rooms take longer to be redone but I like the in-room entertainment. Generally it's not a place if you want a QUIET retreat. But my kids enjoyed themselves and that's what is most important. Staff are also ready to serve, so customer service is good. Thank you for a memorable stay.

I like the hotel for its cleanliness, room design and comfort , professional staff and super efficient crowd control at breakfast despite the large number of people. I would have preferred that it is closer and more accessible to shops and eateries outside the property.

Some areas of improvement for a nice hotel

The services of the staffs were very good and polite, parking was easy and safe. Very visible security personnel patrolling the car park area. Check in and checkout were a breeze. The maintenance crews are also working hard to upkeep the cleanliness of the hotel. The morning buffet spared was also excellent. However there are a couple of areas i hope the management can look into as these are potential hazards that can injured young kids. Firstly the small squarish knob that you push when you want to exit the bathroom or toilet is quite sharp on 4 corners. Secondly, the edge of the floor tile interfacing the washing area and the toilet area is also quite sharp. Hard Rock Hotel is evidently a very popular hotel for families with kids but these potential hazards are accidents waiting to happen. Lastly the carpet in the room is flaking terribly, There were furballs everywhere.

The price between when I did the booking and I paid to the hotel reception it was very big difference. I forgot my iPhone charger in the room. Nobody from hotel email me or call me about that. I will don’t stay anymore in this hotel in the future.

Friendly staff and nice breakfast buffet spread

My wife and I decided to book a room for our short staycation and had dm via fb messenger regarding the complimentary parking. The response was prompt as we received the reply within the same day. I paid for the Superior room with 1 king bed for 2nights(14-16 Nov).The access to the parking at the hotel premise was convenient and the plus factor was that there was a security guard stationed at the parking location. We were assisted by Kogul and Farizzuan upon checking in at the lobby. Kogul was friendly and we received an 'upgrade' to higher floor room which was facing the water park. He was patient during the transition as my wife enquired the directions to the restaurant and the timing for the breakfast buffet. The room was overall ok except that we found ants crawling around the toilet basin and flying insects around the lights. I would suggest in having the pillows changed as they were really 'very used' and flattened. It was a real discomfort as we could not sleep well. We went for a massage session at the Rock Spa and the experience was great.Another plus factor was that the breafast buffet spread was extensive and some of the food items were different on the 2 consecutive days. I liked the teh tarik and it tasted authentic. There is room of improvement overall but keep up the good work and customer service.

Fantastic stay over Deepavali long weekend

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing time over the Deepavali long weekend staying at this hotel: The staff were all very friendly and approachable, providing good service in all areas throughout our stay. Special thanks and compliments to Aiman from Sessions Restaurant for always being enquiring and attentive to our needs. The easy access to the Adventure Coast Waterpark is convenient and a bonus. We also had a relaxing experience at the spa and enjoyed the music from the live band in the evenings. Overall a fantastic stay!
