Short stay . Very nice stayed in the suite.
It was a reasonably priced place to stay for a night. Good value for money.
This motel is very run down and aged. The beds were on frames with wheels and the box spring was considerably older than me. I could handle the aged building and decor if they simply updated the furniture. It looked generally clean overall and the staff were efficient and friendly however just based on age of property and decor I wouldn’t stay again.
Great little Motel!
Close to early opening cafes. Close to highway. As advertised, but, to my mind, a bit pricey for what you get. Overall, a good experience and I would stay again.
Friendly and convenient with good access to the town.
I liked that it had a separate kitchen- living room, a separate bedrooom with ajoining bath.
Needs upgrading but priced right.
Water not good. Price right.
Very quiet, calm place and area around the property. I needed a place to stay for a few days and this place fit the bill. It was cost effective, quiet, clean and had what I needed. Beds are definitely not the best. Old metal frame on wheels that rolls around at the slightest movement, but comfortable. I would stay here again if needed.
It was late and most places were booked up. We found this place and booked it online. It was passed checkin time but we called the owner and she came out just to let us in. She showed us to our suite which was a newly built 2 bedroom suite with in suite laundry, a full kitchen, and living room.
Cyclists can keep their bike in their room. Friendly staff.
This property was cute and check in was a breeze. Not just for me however, as I had a bunch of black ants seemingly check in too. My room included a small kitchenette and on the day I checked out, I counted no less than 30 ants crawling all over the kitchen counter. Having dealt with ants at home, I know how tough they can be when it’s simply that season, but it made me feel a bit bitter about paying $100 a night to share with the locals. Would I try them again sometime? Sure, though I may ask for a room on the second floor next time…
Property is old and dated.
The room is cozy and comfortable and clean.
A sweet old school motel. Very clean and wonderful people that run the facility
Ok
Staff was really friendly, but the layout of our room was strange with the toilet 2 ft from one of the beds.
Check in staff were lovely and seemed so happy to greet us and make sure we had a comfortable stay. The rooms were cozy and felt nicer than the pics. Totally clean. Very comfortable bed. I was very pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend!
Owner was exceptionally friendly, helpful and welcoming
Kitchenette included comfortable bed
I am happy I stayed here. Very friendly service, nice room, great price 😊👍
Room was simple, but had been updated recently and was clean and comfortable.
Staff is fantastic and exceptionally accommodating, very friendly and helpful!
Owners are fantastic and very friendly
Owner is fantastic
Good value for a stop over point on the way to the coast.
Friendly and helpful staff
I stayed at the Cedars under the old owners, and it was nasty. Now its clean and comfortable. Still very old and not deluxe, but a great place to stay on my hunting trip.
Front desk lady very nice
I found the people very nice but the carpet is very old and the plumbing toilet handle and tub & shower handles did not operate Properly The Mattress on the bed was very lumpy and had what sounded like raw rubber protection sheets and sounded very loud every time you turned over or even moved. we advise against booking here.
good quiet location
It is a okay place for an overnight stay.
This basic, unpretentious motel was a great place to break up our trip from Nelson to Vancouver.
Quiet and roomy, close to all amenities. Very good price. Flexibility. Were able to add 2 extra night to our reservation in the same room. The twin beds were a bit narrow but OK. Liked having a fridge and microwave.
This place should be closed. Filthy, disgusting, black mold covers the air conditioner. Walls , doors , baseboards are coated in filth . Floor is spongy, head of bed is less than 2 feet from toilet . Mattress cover is plastic so it’s very noisy.
Older property. needs some sprucing up. Reception area needs a sweep, floor dirty. Room was simple, all the lights worked, night table has seen better days, beds were ok, a little soft, but that is a personal evaluation. Very quiet area of town. Walkable to main street where all the shopping and restaurants are.
We arrived after hours (didn't see the "check in by" times), lights were off however we knocked and someone arrived and promptly helped us! Staff were very nice and friendly. The rooms are dated and showing some wear but they were clean.
Friendly staff.
excellent staff and service. comfy beds
Too dark in the room, too slow network.
Nice place to stay, quiet, walking distance to shops, restaurants and other amenities, in the heart of town.
Easy location to get to and book in was quick and friendly. The room needs a deep clean, such as dusting and dirt marks/stains on door, walls, bathroom window, ledges.
No tissues, no light on the desk, air conditioner is not working so all kids and I woke up in 4 am as it’s too hot, outside is cooler. It’s clean but ants and other insects are on the floor so my kids were scared.
clean
Thanks for the room
The host was very courteous and let me check in early. I am 6 feet and could not fit on the single bed which actually moves if you move. The AC was cold the only issue was at night you freeze or bake. You have to keep getting up to turn it off it on. Place is right beside a waste truck site or something so the dump trucks were in and out starting at 6am so no sleeping after that. Would have loved to let some light in and open my blinds but there are chairs below my window that people were sitting in for hours. Worth the but extra to go elsewhere.
Friendly staff and good location
Not enough rooms for ppl with pets
Not much to look at, but the rooms are nicely sized so you don’t feel claustrophobic. Not a lot of modern furnishings but everything is clean and it works. TV and AC were great.
Older motel with some renovation. Good quality for the price. Very helpful staff.
A Low cost option if you just want a bed for the night
Traditional motel - comfortable and quiet, friendly proprietor, easy access to dining places on foot
Great
Our unit was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the staff were great. The motel itself is a bit dated. The only down side was there was a boil water advisory in Princeton but that was not the fault of the motel. Overall good value.
Staff nice friendly and helpful
Owner was great. She always makes sure everything is good.
Good value. Big fridge
The motel attendant was very nice and helpful
The owner was very helpful, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, I'd stay again
It was clean and friendly staff. The WiFi was absolute bad.
This property was good enough for my purposes. Nothing fancy.
It was good for the price twin beds where small but comfortable
The room was so cute n clean n a full kitchen for the price it was perfect .Clean n quaint.Nothing fancy but we liked it.
There were, 2 men playing electric guitars with speakers and an amp, very loud directly beside motel in the road for hours.
Quiet and clean room within walking distance of the downtown area. Check in was a bit of a chore as they are not computerized. The water in the room is not drinkable. Overall, it was a safe place to spend the night.
the bed was awesome and the staff were friendly
Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Willing to help in any problem. Clean and comfortable. Internet is ok from streaming but not strong enough if you need to do any work
The wifi was very weak and basically didn't work
A clean, quiet hotel close to the major transportation route. Host was excellent.
Nice
This is an older style property but the room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. I stayed in a kitchen unit that had 2 small fridges, a stove and a microwave. Owner was very friendly and helpful.
The owner was very pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean but could have used a bit more lights. A coffee pot would have been nice (not just instant coffee). Being off the main road made it nice and quiet and the only noise we heard was a work crew that was staying there when they were coming and going. They weren't noisy but you could hear their vehicle engines and doors. Some people used their electronic door lock which is noisy but is not the problem of the motel or it's owners. Thank you to the owners for a nice restful stay and for their advice on what to see, where to eat, etc.
Great customer service from the front desk but the room could have been much much cleaner. The price was cheap enough so i will probably stay again.
Liked: Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff member at check in was courteous and friendly. Did not Like: TV noise and conversation could be heard from adjoining rooms.
Perfect place to stay
I was very pleased with the gesture of the owner . She was very courteous and gave us ideas on where to go and to navigate other stuff around. Spectacularly clean rooms with very good heating. Don't forget to take a slipper with you as the floor is wooden and considering you might want to go for a day trip and get back with filthy shoes you don't want to go around with in the room, take slippers to wear inside the room. The room was exactly like it was presented on the picture in expedia. Thank you!
It was a decent place to sleep as they were very accommodating due to the circumstances with the crazy winter storm and we stayed in a nice room with on Christmas eve with our pup. The room was very clean and lots of room. The beds could use an upgrade as my back hurt and I couldn't sleep but nevertheless it was a decent place to rest my head. Thank you so much to the Ceder Motel for everything! Highly recommended booking if you are in a bind or need a budget friendly place to stay.
The walls are very thin. You can hear the people in the other room very clearly. The front door lock doesn't seem very strong.
Caulking in the bathroom was moldy. Otherwise very clean.
We were disappointed, the room was dirty. The door did not lock, we had to put chairs in front of the door. For 125$ a night, definitely not worth it.
Contaminated drinking water!
Beware! We just needed a one night stay while driving from Vancouver to Calgary and there were only 2 options on Hotels.com. We chose this property because of it's higher rating. When we checked in, AFTER we had signed paperwork (we prepaid thru hotels.com), the manager (owner?) told us that the tap water was not safe to drink due to flooding in the town! She said it was okay for tooth brushing and showering, just not drinking! I was caught off guard and didn't reject the stay immediately, but after my husband and I checked out the room we decided not to stay. The motel itself looked like rundown, the 2 chairs and table outside the room door were filthy. The bathroom was the deal breaker with black mold/mildew in the silicone caulk all around the tub. We left and drove another hour + to Osoyoo. I began an online chat with hotels.com and explained the situation. They told me the motel owner/manager would have to authorize a refund. I will deal with hotels.com when I return home. A property with contaminated drinking water should not even be listed on their site.
When the wifi occasionally worked in our room, it was very slow. They need a new router and to get this fixed up. Walls are thin. Easy to over hear neighbors talking at normal volume. Room was clean and relatively comfortable, but overall not a good value.
Sleep in your car
It was dingy and noisy. The door locks were not adequate and it felt very unsafe. Lights didn't work in the room. Shower handle fell off when trying to turn on shower. Decor awful. Needs updating. Very noisy could hear everybody. Slept with scissors because we were 2 women alone and we felt unsafe.
The rooms could use some updating other then that the beds were comfortable
This place was SO clean!! We arrived late but there was no issue getting checked in. Don’t let the outside appearance fool you! This place was a perfect stay!
Good value
We understand that the property was damaged after the flood 9 months ago. Although the room was reasonably clean, furnishings were very old and there was visible damage from mold in the bathroom. We could not get the microwave to work, the outside light would not turn on which made it difficult to check in as we got arrived after dark. The most disappointing thing was that the last thing we were told during check in was that the water was undrinkable and that we had to boil water in the room if we wanted to brush our teeth. I asked if they had any bottled water to use and they were not supplying that to customers. That would have been an absolute necessity in our thinking, to have a couple bottles of water complementary when water is undrinkable. At least the air conditioning worked.
Friendly checkin with a helpful attendant who had great local area knowledge. The rooms are cool, clean and much better than expected from the outside. Fairly modern, clean and tv with cable. It’s all you need. I’d stay there again. All in all book with confidence. Eat at the Copper Pit, great bbq food and friendly people too. The town is very, quiet at night and peaceful. A very unexpectedly good night and time in the area.
Friendly staff, clean room. Didn’t feel very safe
Proprietor was pleasant during check in. Property is old and needs updating. Room was dark and had a very unpleasant odour. Shower appeared to have black mold around the base. Due to health concerns we left right away. Cannot recommend.
Friendly staff, easy place to stay along the way and pet friendly :)
The owner is wonderfully helpful, friendly, and kind. She went out of her way to be accommodating and to make sure we had everything we need. A super quiet, clean, and well located place to stay in Princeton. We stay here a couple times a year, and we're never disappointed.
Clean, easy access, close to restaurant, pub, quiet.
The Motel was in a very quiet location, far enough from the highway that you didn't hear a thing!
It was a nice place to stay and fit our needs. Would stay again.
This is a great place to stay if you need to rest your head for the night. It's very cost effective and friendly hosts. They make you feel very welcome. I would stay here again, I actually stayed here twice recently because of location and price.
Good place to crash overnight if going somewhere. Particularly if you are getting a good rate deal. Rooms are outdated but clean (unless you are very picky). Bed was ok. We got a room with a kitchen, which was nice to have, but we didn’t use other than for coffee in the morning. Only instant coffee provided, which defeats the purpose of the coffee machine. We brought our own but had to ask reception for coffee filters early in the morning as none was available in the room. The hotel is away from the highway, so very quite. Room had an air condition which was great considering how hot was when we where there.
Dated motel, wifi is zero
