This small hotel is a treasure. The property is beautiful and staff super. Our room was really lovely and clean. We had a door to the lovely garden terrace which is prefect for a glass of wine. The views of Porto are breathtaking. Breakfast is very nice and fresh in a great new garden center. The hotel has a garage for your car, make arrangements. They also let us leave our car in the garage as we took more of a look around. Now the street in front is narrow and steep, pretty exciting. The hotel is walkable to all the sites and to restaurant's. The building is old history totally restored so lovely. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to the staff and owner for such a beautiful experience of Porto.
One of the most beautiful places I have visited. This hotel is impeccably curated, and the patio, views, and breakfast area are amazing! Highly recommended!
Beautiful hotel with a beautiful interior, grounds/garden.
Very clean and friendly staff. Perfect place to stay for vacation.
The property itself is a must-go scenic spot. The garden is really nice and the patio has the best river-view. We booked a room with river view and when we open the window it’s just like a nice painting looking out. Very close to the river but need to take a lot of stairs down (there’s elevator the way up so not bad), not many food options in the neighborhood though.
I had the best time staying at Casa Camélia. The property is stunning, the location is perfectly removed from the downtown core but close enough to walk to (10-15 minutes). It’s perfectly situated on the hill with amazing views of the city. My favourite thing to do was sit at the lookout every morning with my coffee. On my final day, I was able to leave my luggage at the front and explore, and the cherry on top was returning at the end of the day, when I asked Kalif if I could watch one last sunset on the lookout before leaving. He brought me a glass of wine and watched it with me, and it was the best ending to my time in Porto. I could not recommend this hotel enough. Every room is thoughtfully designed and every staff member is so helpful and kind. I’ll be staying there the next time I visit Porto, for sure.
I’ll start by saying that my husband and I stayed in 6 different locations around Portugal, and Kalif, the host at Casa Camélia was one of the kindest and helpful people we met along the way. He was supportive in allowing us to park our car in the garage (though, we hadn’t previously contacted the property to reserve a spot), he oriented us to the area and pointed us in the direction to get the most out of our afternoon upon checkin, he made us a dinner reservation at a place he recommended (which had a great sunset on the other side of the river), he quickly calmed my worries on WhatsApp when we saw smoke in the distance from a fire, and he was always tending to the beautiful property and making sure guests had what they needed. I appreciated him very much. The room had a comfy bed and little balcony with a great view, the property was a garden lover’s dream, breakfast was perfect each morning, and we were prepared to walk a lot, so the location was good for us (be prepared for steep hills/stairs). We’d gladly return! We partly chose this property because it had parking, so I’ll share this for other drivers: reserve a spot in the garage ahead of time, let them know when you’ll be arriving and call when you pull up, because they have to let you into the garage down a steep road (which locals are used to driving down faster than you!) and upon leaving, you have to drive through the narrowest road we drove through during our whole 1500 mile roadtrip. No damage but eeeks!
Beautiful property with amazing staff.
Great position, great decor, facilities and staff. Views stunning. Would highly recommend.
Casa Camelia is the most delightful small hotel tucked away in a quiet side street in Port. It is a magical place. As you step in off the street you find yourself on the terrace in the stunning garden filled with flowering plants and with fabulous views. The staff are friendly and efficient and the whole place is beautifully designed and run by the owner Raphael. Breakfasts in the Pavilion are delicious and a lovely way to start the day. Our room was really gorgeous, very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We loved our stay at Casa Camelia and hope to make a return visit.
Lovely, small hotel; worth every penny
Fabulous hotel. Staff very friendly, lovely, large room and close to the centre of Porto, although its location (it’s on a hill) may be an issue for those with mobility problems. No bar and Reception not 24hrs but would very happily return because everything else makes up for that. Great breakfast too! Lovely views over the river, onto Gaia
Beautiful hotel. Loved everything in the rooms and outside of them, especially the patio and pavilion where we got to enjoy a nice cup of coffee.
Attention to detail, excellence.
This property was great in mostly all aspects! We had a perfect view from the “Magnolia” room. Staff was wonderful and the area at first looked to be in a “sketchy” area but it turns out it’s not. The only thing I will say is that our room did not have an air conditioner unfortunately. They did have fans on each floor which helped but an AC is a must during the hot days
Casa Camelia is one of the most unique and charming places i have ever stayed. Upon walking through the door, you not only encounter exceptional service but enter an oasis all to its own, with stunning views of Porto and the Douro River. Each room has its special charms and original artwork, and breakfast in the greenhouse is superb. The fountain in the garden also gives the whole place a dreamy, old world ambience In future visits to Porto, we wouldn’t stay anywhere else stay anywhere else.
It’s a little piece of paradise in the heart of Porto.
Casa Camelia is a true gem that feels like stepping into a fairytale. The rooms are beautifully designed, exuding charm and elegance. Staff were friendly and warm. The garden offers breathtaking views, a perfect spot to unwind and take in the natural beauty. Having brunch in the greenhouse in the early morning really made the start of my day. The manor is centrally located near many attractions and monasteries. Don’t pass on this stay!
