Very enjoyable stay. Clean comfortable & everything one could possibly need

The single bedroom suite I booked was spacious & well laid out, apart from having the outdoor patio sharing space with the airconditioning unit blowing out hot air. Probably would be better if the bedroom had its own aircon as well but it sufficed to keep me cool in bed by leaving the bedroom door open. Kitchen was well equipped, plenty of glasss & utensils & the staff were efficient & friendly. My room probably needs a new coat of paint & some of the furniture is a bit worn but good for the price.

I would just like to say that the Manager I think his name is Don went over and above to assist me in every way. There was nothing that was too much trouble for him. Our train ran late and I called the after hours number and he was there in a flash to help me gain entry to the building. I had a query re my Expedia account and he went over and above to sort it for me on a Sunday. Could not fault the service. Would I stay there again and the answer would be a YES. Thank you

Convenient, centrally located

Great stay!

It was a great stay. My room is quiet as they put me far from other rooms. It is a central location right accross the shopping centre. I just wish their reception is 24 hours and wish they organise cairns tours and trips. But my stay was great!

Stay somewhere else not recommended

The hotel is in good location, but it wasn’t clean as the beds were not clean and toilet flush was not good at all.

Cairns Central Shopping Center and rail station across the street. Limited reception hours, check-in machine by entrance. Good size room with balcony, fridge, microwave and kitchenware.

Family visit to Cairns

Cairns Central Plaza had a great location, just across the street from a big shopping centre, and chemist also nearby. Easy walk to city centre, Esplanade, restaurants, train station for Kuranda, and bus stops. Friendly reception staff and housekeeping too. Everything cleaned well. View from our balcony was great, rooftop pool nice with heated whirlpool. We did find, however, that the apartment was in need of renovation: fan above stove was almost hanging off, washing machine stopped working halfway through our stay (we used communal laundry but had to pay extra), toilet seat was broken off hinge on one side and sofa was in need of a deep clean (food down the sides!). Washing machine was not fixed, nor kitchen fan, during our stay. Rooms were also not very soundproof, heard voices, telephone conversations and snoring from next door!

The location was excellent,room was quiet,and we were well looked after.

Convenient Position

We stayed 3 nights. The hotel was in a very central position. Cairns Central Shopping Centre was across the road, which was convenient.

Good location close to I most venues in the Vairna CBD

The hotel represented great value for money and is well located in the centre of Cairns. Well equipped apartment which made my stay all the more enjoyable.

I stayed in studios lots of space on three occasions as a link after/before international flights and between a cruise and a train trip. Great balcony and view of the city I loved the 9th floor level. Wonderful location as just across the road is a huge shopping mall and its close to the train station too.Very friendly and helpful staff.

Great for shopping and very close to all amenities . Needs more seating to accommodate two guests..

The curtains were old and had stains all aver them. The bathroom shower cubicle leaked water all over the floor in the bathroom as water ran under the door lip on the floor. Building is old and worn and needs upgrading/updating when you pay a lot per night. Bit sad really.

The hotel is located at the hospital building and as hospital smell. The location is far from restaurants etc.

Directly across from cairns central shopping

Convenient clean and comfortable. Furniture a bit dated but everything worked fine.

The airconditioner was not working

It was easy to get to close to shopping centre and train station but it was not good when there was no one at reception.

Large rooms for the price, lots of power sockets. Maintenance is average however - both globes in one light fitting were faulty. The shower head leaked, and it was hard to keep shower water from splashing out of the tub. There is no hairdryer. (We found one that was broken but it had been left by a previous customer!) The reception staff were great, but reception opens late and closes early. Overall though, it was a good value stay!

Neat place and friendly staff

I love staying here. The balconies are so private and i love the aecure parking. I stay often and I would of loved to made one of ypur apartments my home longer term but the rate of $135 a day is just too expensive for just myself on my single iinvone.

Only problem in no aircon in bedroom

I would be quite happy to stay here again. Couldn't fault anything

People had a party that I had to ask multiple times for them to be quiet , they went out eventually at 11pm then came back at 3:45 am and continued to party . There is no onsite reception to stop this from happening

Close to the ferry terminal for Reef tours and many eating places around. Lovely warm roof top spa.

Safe ,Quiet & Easy Parking

I liked the veiw from my room.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating when my flight was cancelled 6times during floods in Cairns. Stayed here 3nights in a row. The rooms were Modern,clean,safe and comfortable!

Good location and clean

Apartment 711 was great, spacious & clean. The concierge was charming.

Central but not great

4 nights in the city. Located across from major mall but about a mile give or take to the water where most things you want to do are. Room wasn't very clean, lots of stuff in the cracks. Washer/dryer ISN'T in the room as we thought, instead in a closet in the parking garage. Staff was friendly enough but the front desk closes early and if you don't have a local phone number they cannot take the call. Building shared with a clinic and other offices so not a proper hotel at all. Shower was just a glass walled off part of the bathroom and the seal was bad so water leaked onto the main bathroom floor. They charge you if you don't take out the trash for them! Wouldn't stay again and wouldn't recommend.

Great location opposite shopping centre and a variety of stores around the apartment.Parking under building easy.Comfortable bed and a balcony was great.The only negative comment was our apartment was not soundproof and there was a crying baby next door .Having said that the apartment was very comfortable as was the bed.Would stay there again.

Great position. Apartment 510 disappointing. Stayed in another apartment in complex last year which was much nicer. Wouldn’t return if I was allocated this unit again. Furnishings sub standard

Great location

This apartment is not in the heart of the tourist area so doesn’t have the close water views you would get closer to the esplanade. It is however only a 10 minute walk to those areas. It is just across the road from the major shopping plaza and also close to the railway. As an apartment complex we had our own small kitchen and a nice outside balcony. Plenty of wardrobe space and good bathroom. A highly functional accommodation for our 3 day stay in Cairns.

Beware of this company. There are 2 very similar site names owned by the same company. CENTRAL PLAZA APARTMENT HOTEL & CAIRNS CENTRAL PLAZA APARTMENT HOTEL Caught a cab from the airport to the wrong hotel. Had to get a second cab. When we arrived at the correct hotel, reception said about the name confusion, "It happens quite often". The CAIRNS CENTRAL PLAZA APARTMENT HOTEL is in a filthy area smelling of urine. Beggers and abusive locals frequent this area. Fights and yelling at night is common. After 4 nights (out of 8) I couldnt stand it. Informed reception we would be checking out to another hotel. Was told I would have to pay a 1 night late cancellation fee. I agreed. Now told there is no refund "because that's a management decision". Horrible customer service in a stinking part of Cairns.

Property is located in a very convenient area. The apartment amenities were ok and cleanliness. However there were some little cockroaches around one in the bed. Under the bed there was lot of dust not cleaned. Stayed 6 days and if i visit again i would not stay again.

Nice position

We enjoyed the spaciousness of the apartment and the view over the city and harbour, The kitchen is quite well equipped .The bathroom is compact but the balcony is a decent size, The hotel is handy to shops and restaurants and a short walk to the Esplanade

Friendly staff, clean room, convenient location & had what we needed. However we could very rarely open the door to the balcony, because there was a chain smoker in the apartment below us. All we could smell was cigarette smoke, which was disgusting. It was a shame.

Great apartment. Newly renovated. Across the road from central shopping mall with supermarkets and around the corner from the train station. 5 flat blocks, easily walkable to The Esplanade and swimming lagoon.

Room was very spacious with washer dryer and air con. Close to train station for early orange departure and staff was very friendly and helpful.

We thought it apartment was very nice and positioned quite well to everything. We gave a small list of things to the reception that needed looking into. The only disappointing thing was the lack of shade over the pool area and not being able to have an even drink and nibble relaxing by the pool. Obviously people must be doing the wrong thing for them not to be allowing that.

Centrally located clean and comfortable good value for money with extremely helpful staff. Would highly recommend for those on a budget whether solo, couples or family’s. Opposite main Cairns Shopping Plaza and approximately 5min walk from the esplanade.Could not go wrong if not looking for the Ritz.

The door lock was broken and couldn’t get in the room. End up giving us another room but when asked to get the wallet from the previous room was told by the manager that I have to wait for reception to open. Didn’t even contact the cleaner on site for me.

Cairns Plaza Hotel stay.

An amazing experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The apartment was very clean. A great view from the 8th floor. Loved it. Will definitely be back again soon.

For tourist accommodation it did not have any information about what to see, no information about how to access hotel amenities, always had to ask, reception staff not forthcoming. Position of hotel was good for shopping.

Hotel was well located in Cairns City Centre. Close to shopping center as well as to all attractions, train station, Cairns Promenade and so on. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I recommend the place for short or long staying.

There was a lingering smell in the apartment possibly because our room was near the rubbish shoot Also the smell when reaching the sixth floor had a smell of dirty carpets and cooking fat. Out bathroom had an old dirty toilet brush, a light cover which smashed to the floor out of the blue and filthy drain trap. The positive was that the shower was very powerful giving a relaxing experience. Overall our stay was very disappointing.

The rooftop pool and heated spa was nit crowded, we had it to ourselves. The shoewer was grrat pressure and had a window with a view

Centrally located

I liked the position, close to railway station (we came and left Cairns by train), close to shopping centre and easy walking distance to town centre etc. There was nothing I didn't like.

Size of apartment No Austar for tv as advertised. Also TV so small we had to sit on the bed about 2 foot from it to see what was on

Fantastic location in the CBD and very close to the railway station. Unfortunately for us the apartment we were in was very run down. The carpet in the living area was filthy and should be cleaned prior to the next occupants. Also the drapes are grubby also. Apart from the dirty carpet and drapes the other facilities were good and we would certainly stay there again when in Cairns

Excellent apartment we were unluckily that there happened to be a fire emergency and we were evacuated outside on the last night but management were excellent.

Great stay in a central location

There is a height restriction for the parking of the vehicles which was not advertised (below 2m) which unfortunately made it difficult for parking. The bedroom did not have an aircon at all, so airflow was limited. Location to Cairns Central was great, and the local restuarants.
