Wow on the water!

The place to stay in this lovely city on the water. Worth every penny. The staff made accommodations for us have breakfast early. Highly recommend this place coming or going from Arlanda airport.

1909 Stads Hotell was very clean. The service was alright. However they don’t have air conditioning in the rooms and it was very very warm. I feel like for the price we paid for our stay it should have been more than a hot small attic type room.

It is a unique, grand old hotel with a lovely restaurant and very helpful and pleasant staff.

Relaxing weekend getaway

We had a great experience. Perfectly located In the center of the old town and by the lake. Area is very accessible by foot. The staff were great and all went out of their way to help. The mini spa was absolutely worth it. Would return. Lovely restaurant and breakfast.

Charming quaint hotel.

Absolutely gorgeous, charming little hotel! Extremely clean and spacious. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic with the best views of the water you could ask for. Do not pass this hotel up!

Made me love a business trip

The grounds are beautiful. Inlets from the Baltic Sea are only a few hundred feet away. Walking away from the beach, there is a super cute alley lined with cafes and gift shops. Even better, all of this is only 8 miles from ARN (15 minute cab ride for 35 SEK). The best part was the service. I met a hotel manager, two waiters and another staff member. They were all kind and intent on being as helpful as possible. Oh yeah, the rooms are lovely too. With a view of the sea, my room had a strong Earnest Hemmingway vibe.

Beautiful hotel looking out to the lake. Lovely dining room with delicious dinner And a very plentiful breakfast buffet. The town of Sigtuna is lovely!

Good historic hotel in Sigtuna. Built in 1909 so bathrooms were very small. Beds were really comfy and room was spotless. I really appreciated the bath robes and the small refrigerator. The staff was very friendly and helped with our day’s intinerary. Should have paid more for a room facing the lake. Would definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel in beautiful Sigtuna.

Beautiful area. A bit too noisy in the restaurant. Personally I don't like when it is a double bed consisting of two single beds put together.

Nice hotel, but a bit noisy

This is a tough review, because I really loved the aesthetics of the hotel and my room. The hotel staff was attentive, the room was exquisite and CLEAN, and the views of the lake were awesome. Also, the restaurant was great. The only problem was with how sound carried through the hotel. I colleague of mine stayed at the hotel too and had the same problem. It was difficult to sleep because you could hear people coming down the hall, stomping around upstairs, and even coming in and out of the hotel. I realize that this isn't entirely the hotel's fault; I believe it is probably an older building (a very nice building though), and the insulation is probably not the best. But if you have problems sleeping, I would recommend asking for a room that didn't have these problems, like one on one of the upper floors. I didn't bring it up to the front desk because I only stayed for one night; however, had I told them, I believe they would have done everything they could to accommodate me. The town was nice and quaint. The lake side bars were cool and relaxing. I would definitely visit again.

Just stay at 1909 Sigtuna Stads Hotel

I booked a single room at 1909 Sigtuna Stads Hotell for one night stay Saturday – Sunday just to escape the Stockholm town for a day and a night. Breakfast was included in the price of 1290 SEK The communications from Stockholm is good, somewhere around 1 hour to get to Sigtuna. Check in was fast and very friendly.There is a sauna you have to book in advance and have it for yourself. I got a single room on the second floor with a table, a coffemaker a cupboard with an iron and an iron board. The room had also a toilet, wash basin and a shower and of course a single bed. The room had also a tvset and a radio. In the evening there is a coffelounge with a piano. Nobody was playing in the evening though.I had a dinner in the coffelounge. In the morning the breakfast room: What a fantastic view over the lake! It is worth staying in the hotel only for the view from the breakfast room through big windows. The breakfast was very good, a classical English and continental breakfast with different breads, juices and different spreadings.In the breakfast room you can also make waffles and have wipped cream with it. In the hotel there is also afternoon tea and “kafferep”, that is coffe with cakes. All in all a very decent hotel that you can visit and have a good time in the old town Sigtuna far away from the bustle in the town. / Sten S.

Cozy hotel

We had a pleasant stay. It was a nice and cozy hotel with a beautiful restaurant and very nice staff. Our room was a bit small, but we also booked the cheapest one.

Small cozy town. More of a day trip. Hotel was clean and breakfast great. I reserved room with city view and got a view of the parking lot.

Autumn stay

Small and very nice hotel, food excellent albeit starters are of miniature size. Breakfast buffet too frequently with empty plates. Perhaps not really upto 5 star level.

Restaurant experience was wonderful!

Food was great, service great, atmosphere pleasant and enjoyable.

Charmer in Charming town

Classic Swedish boutique hotel. Sigtuna is a delightful, lakeside village with charm - nothing fancy, just beautiful vistas, cute shops, good restaurants (the restaurant at the Hotel is excellent!), great walking trail along the lake and marina, and lovely people. Easy to take it all in in a day. Great night's stay option if you're looking for somewhere near the airport.

Hotel close to Arlanda with style.

I needed to be close to Arlanda for one night for business trip and wanted something with character.

Swedish Experience

We arrived quite late to the hotel. Upon our arrival we were provided a key to our room and first left to obtain our belonging from our car. Once we got back to the door to get in, it seemed no one was at the desk and the door was locked. It was cold and we had to knock like crazy to have someone answer. We asked to use the elevator and the elevator had a cart with some type of liquid on it in the middle of the very small lift. So we had to take the stairs to our 2nd floor room. That was our only hiccup. Our room was wonderful with a great view of the lake. It had a seating area, generous size bathroom and the bedroom was large enough to walk around the bed and use the space adequately. The breakfast was nice and tasty. Offering cereal, eggs, meats, cheeses, breads, jams and drinks. The staff was helpful. The hotel was located in the town of Sigtuna, which was the first town in Sweden. (I had no idea when I booked the hotel, of the town's significance.) The massage was incredibly expensive, $211.00 for an 80 minute Swedish massage. Parking was easy and provided enough spots for everyone. Luckily, I am an LMT and can write it off, but my God that is expensive. The area was safe and quaint. I'd stay at this hotel again.

Harmoni var ordet!

Hela hotellet inger en atmosfär av harmoni. Fantastiskt rum med högt i tak! Skön säng och härliga fåtöljer. Matsalen, loungen, mysig minirelax! Vi njöt av varje minut. Riktigt bra utbud till frukost! Vi kommer gärna tillbaka!

Som vanligt levererar 1909 med bra boende och frukost. Trevlig och snabb incheckning samt inte minst bra personal

Bland det trevligare hotell jag bott på. Otroligt fin resturang och miljö i och runt om hotellet. Rekommenderar varmt för den som vill lyxa till en natt eller två med frun.

Fin miljö. Bra receptions service. Rummet saknade luftkonditionering och modern dusch. Vacker matsal/restaurang. Frukosten ordinär. Vistelsens höjdpunkt var middagen i restaurangens utomhusdel - underbar mat, trevlig personal, musik, utsikt!

Kanske det finaste hotellet jag bott på i Sverige och dessutom för en billig peng! Hit skulle jag återvända när somhelst. Byggnaden är vacker och pietetsfullt restaurerad, personalen vänlig och förekommande, rummet mysigt och vackert, frukosten utmärkt...

Gillade hotellet

(Ni borde korrekturläsa det ni skriver ut här!) Vänlig personal och hyfsat städat i rummet. Litet men bekvämt rum med gott te och utsikt över Mälaren. Bra frukost - saknade bara rågbröd och vanlig laktosfri yoghurt. Gillade hotellet i stort och det var nära gågatan. Bekvämt o bra.

Läget var bra med fantastisk utsikt över vattnet. Väldigt varmt på rummet men räddningen var ACn, men den ville jag inte ha på under natten då den blåste så mycket och jag lyckades inte ändra så mycket mer än temperaturen på den. Personalen väldigt trevlig och hjälpsam! För ett hotell av denna prisklass och standard är jag besviken på städningen. Ett lager av damm på vattenkokaren och tandkrämsrester på kranen på toaletten var inte så fräscht. Några parkeringsplatser med möjlighet till laddning av bilen finns och hade turen att få tillgång till rummet lite tidigare.

Vi firade min 70 års dag här, och vi var mycket mycket nöjda med allt på hotellet. Även med Sigtuna som verkligen är värt ett besök.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Wunderbarer Empfang

Wir waren viel zu spät dran, weil der Start unseres Fluges sich verzögert hatte. Aber: Check in klappte tadellos und es gab sogar noch etwas zu essen.

Fantastisk personal, underbart rum med sköna sängar och havsutsikt. Otroligt god mat. En vistelse som satte lite guldkant på tillvaron.

Sigtuna e' una bellissima cittadina a circa 40 km da Stoccolma e una quindicina dall' aeroporto di Arlanda ...l'hotel è stato proprio come ce lo aspettavano ..ci hanno riservato una bella camera con vista lago . Colazione ottima personale molto gentile ..da consigliare anche per una vacanza più lunga..

Fint hotell med bra läge

Mycket fint hotell väl värt sina stjärnor. Fina rum med sköna sängar. Vi fick ett rum med utsikt mot vattnet vilket lyfte helhetsupplevelsen. Enda nackdelen är att det är trångt om utrymme i toaletten. Det kompenserades med snygga inredningsdetaljer.

Mycket nöjd med vistelsen, fint och trevligt bemötande. Bra kan vara att informera om nivåskillnad in till toa/dusch som för personer med besvär (t ex smärta) kan försvåra även om man inte har en funktionsnefsättning

Fantastisk utsikt från deluxerummet, fräscht och utmärkt service. Bra att veta att vissa utrymmen som exvis badrummet kan vara väldigt trångt. För min 2 meters-man så var det inte helt bekvämt. Annars toppen!

Charmigt hotell med underbart läge.

Fint inredda rum och mysigt på alla sätt. Tyvärr var vi där en av sommarens varmaste dagar och bodde i ett rum uppe under takåsarna. Fanns ingen AC vilket gjorde att det blev olidligt varmt på rummet.

Bra service och god frukost! Mycket folk i baren och de prioriterade tyvärr inte gästerna. Ingen AC på rummen... i allmänhet ett väldigt trevligt hotell med bästa läget.

Supermysigt hotell i supermysig stad. Maten i restaurangen och frukosten var fantastisk.

Vänlig personal, bra rum och mysigt hotell. God mat med extra beröm för matjessillen. En helt sagolik förrätt. Även biffen som huvudrätt var del av en väl komponerad tallrik. Tyvärr föll rårakan med löjrom helt utanför den i övrigt perfekta kvällen.

Fantastiskt boende och god service samt mycket bra mat. Tillgång till massage, mini-relax och gym var på en mycket hög nivå. Personalen var extremt trevlig och hjälpsam. Vi blev bortskömda hela helgen!

Charmant endroit je recommande

Första intrycket.

Vi möttes av ett iskallt vindsrum! Efter klagomål fick vi ett bättre rum som var tillräckligt varmt. Detta första intryck förstörde vistelsen till stor del. Afternoon-tea saknade de klassiska sandwichtillbehören. Scoonsen var degiga. Miljön i terummet och matsalen var väldigt smakfull och personalen tillmötesgående.

KOm sent på kvällen för att övernatta mellan flyg. Så mysigt hotell och jag gillade sängarna inklusie sängkläderna. Sov god timmar där. Nöjd och rekommenderas verkligen.

TOP, aber...

Grundsätzlich war der Aufenthalt sehr angenehm. Leider ist das Hotel, obwohl sehr sauber und gut unterhalten schon ziemlich alt. Ob dies heute noch 5* gerecht wird steht wohl in den *. Die Zimmer sind ziemlich klein und die Einrichtung scheint mir auch eher von vorgestern. Im Bad ist der Aufenthalt echt nur eine Person vorgesehen. Als es uns zu kalt war, drehte ich die Radiatoren voll auf. Da dies leider nicht den gewünschten Erfolg erbrachte haben wir reklamiert. Ohne weitere Diskussion wurde uns versprochen, eine mobile Heizung in das Zimmer zu stellen. Damit konnten wir die Temperatur auf ein erträgliches Mass erhöhen. Als wir dann am Morgen noch zusätzlich den Föhn einschalteten, brannte die Sicherung durch und wir hatten keinen Strom mehr. Wäre ja alles nicht so schlimm, aber für ein 5* Hotel reicht es für mich trotzdem noch für ein Gut. Für ein hervorragend reicht es für mich leider nicht.
