Great, small hotel. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly. Walkable to the waterfront along safe route. Convenient supermarket 2 minutes walk away. A number of great restaurants around the corner too. Would recommend!
Clean, friendly, nothing too much trouble
A fantastic place to stay!
What a lovely hotel. The staff could not have been friendlier and we received a very warm welcome. Breakfast was wonderful and the rooms large and very clean. We loved it and will definitely be back.
Great stay!
One quick last minute night in Cape Town and we opted for Zest. So glad we did as the staff immediately made us feel like family. The room was great and we loved how peaceful the property felt.
Fay and management very good resolved issues as had a few problems with the room
Fabulous!
Small and friendly hotel in great location. Only 15min walk to V&A shops and restaurants. Really lovely staff. Would highly recommend.
Excellent staff, friendly and very helpful. Hotel provided driver assistance, which was splendid.
Wonderful Boutique Hotel with Great Service!
Wonderful boutique hotel with incredible service! Included breakfast was wonderful! They do all the little things that make a stay great!
this boutique hotel was very very beautiful and nice as soon as you walked in there welcomed you and gave a little tour of the boutique which was more then clean super eco friendly and the rooms were comfortable, i would definitely be coming back again
The location combined with great service and a very nice breakfast made this a perfect choice for our quick stay.
The staff were lovely, and very responsive. The room was simple, but pleasing. The whole ascetic just makes you relax instantaneously.
Fantastic staff good breakfast nice location clean
My wife and I went to Zest for five nights for our anniversary and wish we stayed longer! The stay was absolutely fantastic with staff going above and beyond their duty to make us feel like family. The rooms are very clean and good size and the view from room also fantastic. The breakfast was so delicious and many vegetarian and non-vegetarian options including fresh fruits and yogurt daily- which made my day. The location is really good, very close to V&A waterfront which made it easy for us to go to tourist sites and walk in a safe neighborhood- we loved the neighborhood it is not too loud and same time has good restaurants and shops. Also, the hotel has the best concierge and tours organized, we made full use of it for wineries and peninsula tours which are fairly priced and the driver Ismael was great. The reception staff, breakfast and catering staff, managers, cleaning staff all so polite and accomodating to us- five star for sure. We will definitely come back to the hotel and recommend for all.
Gorgeous, sustainable and friendly place to stay
We really enjoyed our stay with Zest, from lovely welcoming staff who greeted us with an ice cold drink when we were sweaty from a long plane ride, to a delicious breakfast, to a very comfortable room. The hotel is eco-conscious too so it's even better to know your stay is doing good by people and planet.
Chardonnay
Amazing 10/10 experience. Staff were delightful full of energy and so accommodating. They gave us a beach bag , tiles , champagne glasses and a complimentary bottle of premium Chardonnay for us to enjoy on the beach. Would recommend.
They offered shuttle service and suggested places to visit. The staff was agile to my needs with personal concierge services were commendable. I would return in the future for their hospitality.
Very friendly staff. The hotel was a huge part of why the trip was fun.
great stay at reasonable price
very friendly staff, extremely neat and clean with great breakfast. location is good, but no views from room.
Well appointed hotel in great location. An amazing team, and the owners are super people. One of the best hotel stays I’ve had. Will definitely be coming back.
Perfect finish to our SA trip!
Our stay was very comfortable. We felt welcomed, well cared for and safe. Delicious breakfast, too! And, thank you to your very lovely staff! We hope to return one day.
Beautiful boutique hotel
What a lovely boutique hotel!! Had a mid century modern feel. Great location, you can walk to the waterfront shops and restaurants or take Uber for just $1 or $2. Breakfast was top notch. You could have the buffet and/or order from a menu. The even had afternoon tea. The homemade cheesecake was out of this world! Our room was beautiful and spacious, the Xanadu Suite. We were the only room on the pool level. It was very peaceful and quiet. Martinique was very knowledgeable about the area. She gave us several recommendations for restaurants. McDonald on the night shift was also very accommodating.
The staff at this hotel I can't find enough great things to say about them! This will be my go to hotel anytime I visit Cape Town in the future! All of them provided excellent customer service.
The staff and property were excellent. The staff was immensely helpful and the breakfast was fantastic. It is a quiet place to stay and somewhere I would recommend to anyone visiting Cape Town.
Terry & Lyn Australia
I stay in around 60 hotels a year and Villa Zest is Absolutely excellent from the time we arrived until our departure everything was spot on. Its the little things that make Villa Zest so good, like being met outside the front door and helped with your bags, lovely lounge with a fresh cake tea or coffee available all day. Cold drinks available on honour system. Staff are incredible hospitable.
15 minute stroll to waterfront
Really friendly staff. Good breakfast included!
Beautiful neat sweet cozy place in a decent neighborhood
The hotel and facilities were fantastic. Only small complaint is that given the temperatures in Cape Town a fridge in the room would have been helpful.
Great breakfast and very spacious room. The location was very central in the city
Amazing place- highly recommend!
Villa Zest is an amazing small hotel in walking distance to a lot of restaurants and close to the waterfront. The day-manager (Martinique) was extremely nice and helpful. Upon checkin she gave a personal tour through the hotel and showed all the amenities (lounge, tea/breakfast and also guided me to my room). The hotel has a very nice espresso machine free to use. At 3PM there is a tea time with fresh cake or muffins as well as other candy (all free). The hotel is very modern and extremely clean. The pool and the outside are is very lovely for evening drinks which you can purchase in the hotel lobby. The breakfast is amazing. Cold and warm options are available and the quality is better than in some expensive restaurants. One great feature of the hotel is a shower which one can use after check-out. As most flight s leaving to Europe are in the late evening/night I was able to spend the day in the city and also hang out in the lobby and take a shower until heading towards the airport. Overall an extremely lovely stay and I would highly recommend this place.
Best Little Hotel in Cape Town
From check in to check out, the staff at Villa Zest took the best care in making me feel welcomed and at home. Special mention to Martinique, Ishmael and Primrose. Their sincere & genuine efforts were appreciated. The hotel areas were modern and had a fun & happy design and feel. It was too cold to swim but the pool and garden were well kept and private. My hotel room was kept clean and well maintained. Breakfast came with the room rate and it was full of fresh fruits, freshly baked croissants, great coffee and an ala carte for eggs, Omelet, pancakes etc were offered. I cannot fault Villa Zest for anything. It was simply the best place for me to stay in Cape Town.
What a find ! We were met with a smile, fresh juice and a tour of the hotel. The staff were extremely hospitable and coukdnt have helped us more. We had limited time in Cape Town and they helped us plan and book activities to maximise our stay. Our room was lovely, great shower and amenities in our room . It is easy walking distance to restaurants. The included breakfast was lovely also .Should I come to Cape Town again I would definitely stay again
Modern, small and quiet, it’s absolutely lovely. Fantastic breakfast, afternoon cakes and a self-serve bar. Very friendly and helpful staff. We highly recommend Villa Zest.
It was very close to both the V&A waterfront and to the city centre - so a great location! The staff were all very friendly and the free bottle of wine was nice! The toiletries in the bathroom were great.
Beautiful boutique hotel in Cape Town
Absolutely lovely Hotel with beautiful design all over. Each and every person of the personnel we met were really friendly, service minded and made us feel as their very special customer. Breakfast was tasty and beautifully served.
The people who work at Villa Zest are amazingly helpful. The accommodations are wonderful and the food is exceptional.
Cape Town visit
We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is ideally located between the V&A waterfront and the city. We found the staff very friendly and helpful.
It was quiet, and well thought out. There were more than sufficient amenities available there.
We LOVED Villa Zest in every way. It’s in a quiet and safe neighbourhood but located close to the waterfront. The staff go out of their way to make your stay wonderful. Special thanks to Martinique! The breakfast spread is excellent as is the cooked breakfast - really delicious. They love feeding their guests. In the afternoon and evening, they put out (free) cake, snacks and coffee/tea for guests. The cakes are simply divine. We had the banana and carrot cake which were so good we had no choice but to have seconds! We’ll be back at Villa Zest!
Highly recommend
Execellent staff, very friendly and helpful. They were also very accommodating with arranging a late check out for my evening flight home. The room was immaculate and had a large walk in shower. The breakfast was tasty and fresh as it’s made to order, also they have tea/coffee available throughout the day as well as cake and some nibbles in the evenings which was a nice touch. The location is a short 10 minute walk to the V&A waterfront and a shorter walk to some really good seafood/sushi places. I highly recommend this place!
Great time, superb hotel
From the friendly welcome, to the spotless and nicely appointed room, to the excellent freshly prepared breakfasts, everything about my time at Villa Zest made me feel welcome and I can't wait to go back. All the staff I interacted with were superb. Helpful information was provided in advance, and the front desk were great at getting back to me and sorting out trips and the spa for me. Usually I'm a sucker for a chain hotel and collecting points - but this is a unique property I'd gladly return to in a heart beat!
Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The location was great and I really enjoyed my stay, I plan on staying here again on future trips to Cape Town.
Staff were all excellent. We arrived before check in time and they quickly sorted our room for us and provided free tea/coffee while we waited and suggested things we could do for our first day. Breakfast excellent and good variety of cooked and cold options. Pool area also pleasant. The staff really made this place for me and would 100% recommend.
Add this hotel to your Cape Town list
Great place to stay, high quality small hotel with lovely attentive staff.
We’ve stayed at hotels all over the world, and rarely leave reviews, but the service was so good at Villa Zest that we had to. The staff were all incredible, the rooms large and newly renovated. The breakfast was amazing. Location was good, with a 15min walk to the waterfront or a R26 uber. Highly recommended!
Tree House Boutique Hotel, not Villa Zest!
We were moved to THE TREE HOUSE BOUTIQUE HOTEL as Villa Zest was undergoing renovations. We were very happy to have stayed here at this lovely, friendly place! Staff were super helpful especially folks like Gilbert and Elton, but everybody was great!
Great space, staff and location!!
Perfect
Great little hotel, waterfront just a short walk away, staff extremely helpful, quiet setting, will be returning
Villa Zest escape
Lorraine and staff were outstanding in their help for us to get the most from our stay- local knowledge, suggesting amazing trips and organising transport. The accommodation and breakfast were lovely. A great experience.
Great Location, Amazing staff, Gorgeous Brekkie x
Stayed here for 4 nights & had a wonderful time. All the staff were super friendly. It was a great location within about a 10 minute walk from the Waterfront - where there is everything going on. Pool was fab for a fresh dip at the end of the day. Nothing was too much trouble, they booked everything for us as well. Brekkie was also amazing - Yum yum. Thank so much for a wonderful stay
Perfect location
I had one night to stay prior to meeting friends. It is in a great location and they upgraded my room. Very nice friendly staff and safe
good hotel. lack of parking is a concern
good hotel , very neat . excellent staff . good, quick, efficient service . the only downside is lack of secure parking
It was a great choice of hotel, well positioned for the Waterfront and only a brief walk away from downtown. The staff were excellent and the room likewise. The breakfast kept us going all day. Next time we are in Capetown we will stay at the Villa Zest.
Loved the energy of this place and would definitely stay again!
Cosy on a prime location
I wont forget your simpathy on my anniversary! A Bottle of Cape sparkling Wine and a Delicious happy birthday cale!!
Nice place to stay in the city
The hotel was nice and also clean. It had good wifi in the room and great meals in the morning. The staff was great at taking care of everything including making meal reservations and service reservations. I'd like to call out Gilbert in particular: he went well above what I would expect from a front desk guy. Thanks for the great stay in Cape Town!
Close to waterfront. Staff was excellent
Excellent breakfast. Yummy cappuccinos. Stayed 3 nights. Funky rooms.
The staff make this place something special!
Great hotel in a really convenient spot for all that's happening at the V&A. That said it's the staff that make this hotel really special. Nothing is too much trouble, breakfast is plentiful & delicious!
Close to V&A but far from the crowd. Nicely decor.
walking distance to V&A, lovely place, nicely decorated. Service was excellent, very clean.
Top Notch place.
Their attention to detail is out of this world. From the ribbon around the wash clothes, to them remembering your name.
Just like Home - Petite and Absolutely Wonderful!!
This hotel is like a rare gem. From the moment I approached the desk there was someone ready to take my luggage with such smile and welcoming spirit that all my tiredness was gone. I got there early and was welcomed to relax in the breakfast lounge where the hot and cold breakfast was still being served. As a side note, breakfast is available until lunch time. The server asked me if I wanted something hot and immediately made me some scrambled eggs and bacon. The same hospitality that greeted me on arrival was evident in the breakfast lounge. This is the kind of place anyone would want to come to after a long travel or work day.
Beautiful modern guest house. We had a lovely stay.
Great hotel!
The staff can't help you enough, very centrally based and we enjoyed our stay! Thank you
Helpful hotel
Manager was extremely helpful.
Amazing hotel
This hotel was absolutely amazing. Came into Cape Town for a short trip and stayed here not knowing which area of the city to stay in but this was the best choice. Villa Zest was close to everything, a short taxi ride from all the great areas of the city (and close enough for a taxi ride back to the airport to catch your flights). Nestled on a hill in Green Point, the hotel is so safe, the staff was the best hotel staff I think I've ever encountered, and the rooms were spotless and pristine. The details of the soaps, towels, rugs, bedding, extra blankets for comfort (we went during winter! bring a jacket!), delicious breakfast, amazing cooks and behind the scenes hotel staff, and amazing lobby managers made this hotel the hotel I will stay again when I return to Cape Town!
Boutique hotel, Great Service, Well Located
A darling boutique hotel, just seven rooms within easy walking distance to the Waterfront and stadium. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The Breakfast was amazing for such a small facility. The lounge was very comfortable, and we took full advantage after long days taking in the sight of Cape Town.
cool place, great staff
great staff, cool place
Nice hotel in the middle of vibrant Cape Town
We stayed for 3 nights in the hotel. The location is perfect, close to the main road and also, the vibrant Cape Town area, the Waterfront. Our room was very spacious and a nice (open) bathroom. We got engaged earlier so I asked for some sort of surprise and was not disappointed! On arrival, there were rose-leafs on the bed and roses in a vase etc, it was great!
Welcoming & friendly
The beautifully kept and thought out rooms tied with the lovely team makes villa zest a place I'd definitely go back too. Friendly, helpful & comfortable.
Lovely stay at Villa Vest
The staff were amazing & couldn't do enough to be helpful, booking the table mountain cable car, dinner reservations etc. breakfast was fantastic and the lunch on offer great too. It's a shame that no food is offered in the evening as this means you have to go out every night and it would have been nice to enjoy the garden or rooftop in the evening. The only downside is that a lot of building work is being done next door so sitting by the pool in the daytime is very noisy. You can't hear the work from your room. It's safe to walk to the V&A waterfront in the day time but you need to get a taxi back once it's dark. Download the uber app - much cheaper & more reliable than the taxis.
Fantastic and such helpful staff even at 4am. Loved the look of the rooms. Breakfast was really well done
Brilliant!
It was a great stay. the fact that it is so private makes it awesome!
Only downside was extensive building knowledge next door - and it will be going on for a long time. I was warned about it before arriving, but after they had accepted my non refundable payment which I thought poor. Other than that it was a wonderful experience
Villa Zest - lovely!
we had a short stay here. We were greeted by Gilbert who was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was on the first floor and it was beautifully presented: clean, tidy, bright and simply but tastefully decorated with no signs of wear and tear. The entire villa is painted white with the complimenting colours coming from the 1970's inspired furniture, wall decor. The staff, Gilbert, Zuko and others, were very pleasant and always happy to help were they could. We had special dietary requirements which were met with pleasure. The food was always fresh and tasty with a nice breakfast variety available every morning. Locally, there were many restaurants to choose from for our evening meal and we ate at Beluga which was very busy and very nice! Zuko worked the nightshift and he always had a lovely welcome for us when we arrived back in the evening. Overall, our stay was a very pleasant experience and we would happily return here.
Good boutique near Waterfront
Close to the Waterfront and city centre - both are walking distance. The hotel is nice and up to date - modernistic with a pool. The room we had was lovely and nicely laid out with everything we needed. And a plus is there is parking. The staff were lovely and helpful. At present there is building next door so it was a din in the morning and through the day but that did not bother us as we were out and about. The hotel has tried to muffle the noise but there is so much building going on it would be impossible. The hotel does not have a lift (elevator) which is a nuisance if you have big bags however they will be expanding and putting one in. Breakfast was good and is prepared to order plus a continental buffet. I would recommend this hotel if you want a nice personal hotel close to the Waterfront and city centre with parking.
35 years and counting
we are in the hospitality industry ,seldom have we enjoyed such friendly and willing staff that made our celebration so memorable . i said we will be back and we mean it .one issue that was out of the control of management was the noise but thankfully it ceased at 4 and started at 9 . less accommodating clients would make an issue about this. thank you for a great celebration. dale schreuder
Great Stay!
It was a wonderful way to spend the last day of a 6 week stay in SA. Comfort, style, great breakfast, and attentive staff. Can't wait to come back.
A little gem close to everything
We were treated like VIPs from the moment we arrived until we left. It is a really beautiful place at a decent price. Really close to everything.
Wonderful
I had a fabulous time. The hotel is ideally located a short, safe walk from the V&A Waterfront. The rooms are beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast, too, served at very civilised hours! I will definitely return there next time I come to Cape Town!
Hidden Gem!
Great staff and great food!!
Excellent Staff
The hotel was lovely, though far and away, the best aspect was the staff. Truly accommodating and excellent.
Fun, retro-theme hotel - central and safe
We made a last minute booking to Villa Zest and the service, friendliness of the staff and quality of the room were all excellent. We arrived a little early and were greeted with smiles - nothing was too much to ask - our luggage was stored for us until the check-in time when it was moved to our room. Meanwhile we had excellent directions to the V&A waterfront, tips on safety, a parking space and we could get on and enjoy our day in Cape Town. We didn't use the pool or take advantage of the complimentary drinks as we has such a short stay but we had everything we needed in the room (hairdryer, coffee making facilities, lovely bathroom, etc.) and the breakfast was delicious. We would definitely book again.
A home in Cape Town
Excellent!
Great find for the location and quality!
What a lovely hotel - the staff was super friendly and useful, breakfast and drinks were great, lovely room, nice pool and relaxing area- highly recommended! :)
Good Location for V&A Waterfront
Good location and pleasant stay but the welcome could have been a bit better.
Villa Zest
Awesome!!! Thank you
Lovely Staff/breakfast
I am in the armed forces and just needed to get away for a few day i looked online and found this gem of a hotel. The staff were very friendly and accomadating. The breakfast was outstanding. The sorrounding area is a mixture of some nice some looks bad with beds and rubbish outside houses. The hotel was originally hard to find as out the way a little and the sign is clear on a white wall so hard to see. i would certainly go back in a heartbeat with my family and as the discription says its only 10 mins to walk to V&A, last point WIFI was a bonus for me and there was nowhere in the hotel that you couldnt get good wifi.
Stylish and beautiful, but uncomfortably small
The location's great, the staff very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. The place is beautifully appointed and furnished. Unfortunately we were VERY disappointed with the size and comfort of our "entry level" room: we found it to be uncomfortably small. The bed was covered with (very stylish) cushions, which needed to be shifted on the floor, making it almost impossible to walk around, especially at night, but daytime as well. The small table (and one chair only, one of us had nowhere to sit bar the bed, since there was no room for a small armchair) was completely covered with a tray with kettle, cups, tea bags etc, so we had to place the lot in the wardrobe, to make room for the computer. Unfortunately there was nowhere to place our luggage but the floor. Also, the bathroom was uncomfortably small, so small that there was no room for towel racks (the stainless steel freestanding towel rack was on the bedroom floor, too!), and the very stylish shower small and awkward to use. When we came back to Cape Town for one extra night a few days later we chose to stay in a different guest house, less beautifully appointed but with bigger rooms and bathrooms. Ah, the joy at the comfort of all that desperately needed space! On a brighter note, Villa Zest has the friendliest and most helpful staff you could ever wish for. Maybe the superior, more expensive rooms are bigger and more comfortable, but we cannot comment on that.
Great, surprising, hotel
A wonderful little hotel. Although the location is not 'prime' it is really convenient for a short (reliable) taxi ride to the Waterfront. The hotel itself is really surprising - once inside, it is very modern, exceptionally clean, roomy, and the service is good. Slight background noise from a nearby road - but I would stay again if I get the chance.
Well located, great rooms
Checked in late and got a wonderful welcome despite the late hour, room was very comfortable, beds excellent quality as were all the facilities.
Great Boutique Hotel
Everything about this boutique hotel is wonderful - the staff , the breakfast , the furnishings ,etc. etc. The attitude of the staff is exemplary. This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.
Very clean, helpful staff
Location is good - close to restaurants and about 20 minute walk from downtown. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, rooms are tasteful and modern as shown. Only thing to be aware of is in our room there was limited privacy between bathroom and bedroom - all one big room with a curtain to separate, so if bathroom privacy is a concern this room design may not work.
goos service
nice comfortable and pleasant
Great location with wonderful staff.
The staff go above and beyond expectations. Very clean and modern accommodations ... With a central location and a fantastic breakfast, this is the perfect setting and location to explore Cape Town.
Incredibly Wonderful Staff
The staff at Villa Zest went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. We had only one night and a long day in Cape Town before leaving the country. Even before we left to go on this trip the Villa Zest staff was working to help us coordinate transport from/to the airport and make accomodations for our young adult children. Upon our arrival they went above and beyond - set us up for a late check-out since our plane home did not leave until 11:25 pm, got my daughter to the airport a day earlier than we left, helped us get food in a short time frame, provided us with directions to get where we wanted to go, etc. etc. Beyond the wonderful customer service, the room was clean and comfortable (smallish, but we knew that going in), the food was fantastic, and location was ideal for walking to the V&A Waterfront. All in all, a wonderful last day in Cape Town and the Villa Zest staff had a lot to do with it. Thank you, thank you!
Exceptional customer service
From the minute we talked in, we really loved everything about this hotel. The customer service we received from all the receptionists there was truly exceptional. They helped us plan our trip, called taxis, made restaurant reservation, etc. They really treated us like royals. Their breakfast was amaaaaazing. There's a very good chance that we make back there to do shark diving, and if we do, we definitely are staying there.
Great stay!
Everything went great! Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was very good each morning, would highly recommend.
Fantastic Staff in a Great Location
Staying at Villa Zest was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in my life. The location is great, within a moderate walk to both the city center and the waterfront. The hotel itself has an interesting look, with great attention to detail. Despite the small size, they still have a pool and a really cool outdoor area in the back, with lots of chairs, a fireplace, etc. The breakfast was fantastic every morning. But, by far the best thing about the hotel was the staff! There aren't very many of them, so you see the same staff on a regular basis during your stay. They did a really excellent job at making me feel welcome to the hotel and Cape Town and arranging anything I wanted to do. All of them are extremely personable and great to talk to about anything South Africa or Cape Town, as well as just really nice people you will want to get to know. I can't recommend this hotel or its staff enough!
Wonderful
Every thing about villa vest is wonderful the staff go out of there way to be extremely helpful
Room = TINY modern box
The staff was very helpful, but there is no way I can give a hotel room that is very small and that has no door separating the bathroom a 5 star review. It is not very romantic hearing your significant other taking care of business! Plus, I was surprised there was not any hair conditioner. That being said, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly.
Great hotel, but some rooms with funny layout
Overall, Villa Zest is a very good hotel. Nice modern decor, very clean, very friendly staff and great breakfast. My only gripe is the layout of some of the rooms. If you happen to have the bigger and more expensive rooms, then you'll be fine. We stayed there twice during our trip. First in the smallest one of the seven, which was very small, and the bathroom door is not a solid door, so it doesn't provide complete privacy. Next, we stayed in a room that's one category higher. This one had a very open layout, providing even less privacy. The sink and bath/shower are right next to the bed, with no door! After our complaint, we got moved to another room. This was very nice - more space, and there was a curtain separating the sleeping area from the bathroom. Since then, the stay has been great. Thanks Villa Zest!

Wonderful stay at Zest! Great hotel, great room, great breakfast. Staff were lovely - hospitable, welcoming and very helpful. Would happily stay again :-)
