Nice hotel in the very heart of Sultanahmet. Driving and parking is a challenge. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good breakfasts on a roof terrace with a beautiful view. Clean and comfy rooms. When booking through Expedia, excellent value for money. Walking distance to the main Sultanahmet attractions - The Blue Mosque, Agia Sofia, Basilica cistern and more. Good choice of restaurants and cafés.
Everything
الموضفين السورين جزيل الشكر علا حسن التعامل وبامانه والأخلاق
Close to main attractions
This hotel is near the major sites. We had a wonderful view overlooking a mosque and the water. The staff was very helpful.
Close to main attraction and very helpful staff
Close to major attractions, helpful staff, clean. However, room is very small, and breakfast quality could be better, eggs, fries always cold
A
Very good people and good location
Not my best experience
I stayed with my mum for three nights, only positive was the proximity to the main attractions. People at reception were nice, but our room was clearly not cleaned before our arrival, there was hair everywhere, including a bunch of hairs on the shower walls. It's outdated, which would've been fine as long as it was clean, but that was not the case. Breakfast is nothing like what you see on the pictures, I specifically wanted to have breakfast included and we had it only once, because it was not worth having it the rest of days, the only fruit available was apples (not sliced), dry pastries and bread, and when I requested to have some more tomatoes re filled 45 minutes before breakfast was supposed to finish, the lady refused to fill up the tray again. Pictures should be updated and show what you really offer for customers to avoid disappointment. Overall, not the nicest of my stays, but made us want to explore more outside instead of staying in the hotel.
Staff super helpful! And friendly
This hotel is excellent...the staff was excellent.the rooms were on point no complaints.5star plus. Reception staff was excellent, The cleaners were brilliant, The kitchen staff was excellent. Overall experience was excellent. We had the Seaview room and my kids had Seaview room. We loved ever minute in this yilsam hotel. We would definitely go back again also recommend it.
This hotel was amazing, the view was amazing and staff very friendly. The sea view room was very spacious and we really enjoyed our stay.
Good locstion, good room size
Very good!
Highly recommended this hotel
Great hotel in a very centrally located spot. The staff were very friendly, the room was beautiful and the breakfast buffet was delicious. Would highly recommend!
We stayed 5 days at this property. We booked a design suites and the size is adequate for 2 of us. It is in a great location and in the middle of old town. However, the room is not clean and the floor is filthy. We also recorded a video of live roaches crawling up from the bathroom vanity and we showed to the front desk staff. The room has a decent view of the sea and the mosque from distance. However, there were a lot of cigarette buttons threw down the balcony from people smoke above us. Also, the guests threw down foods and breads for the cats and birds. The breakfast is mediocre and low quality. The had many items spreading out but most were low in quality. The breakfast selections were the same each day. We ate their breakfast only 1 day and skipped the rest of our stay. This is not considered of 4 stars hotel as they advertised themselves. The pictures on their website were taken many years ago and the room furnitures were wore out/dated. The reception guy with beards is not friendly.
Great location. It's safe and immaculate, and the staff there is amazing, helpful, and accommodating.
Breakfast
Bien ubicado
Great stay , very helpful staff
We stayed at Yilsam for 4 days and it was hands down the best hotel to stay in the area. The mosques were walking distance, the breakfasts were amazing and the views were outstanding. Will definitely be staying again when I return to Turkey.
Pros: Extremely convenient location; very friendly and helpful staff; excellent breakfast. Cons: room/s located on floor 2 below terrace restaurant—loud noises of furniture being dragged across floor above us until late into night making it impossible to sleep; smell of cigarette smoke permeated room nonstop triggering allergies and making us feel sick
Great hotel, steps to Sofiya and Blue Mosque. Yammy breakfast with amazing view. Excellent service at the hotel.
The hotel was lovely, the staff were wonderful and the facilities were great too. Our needs were always met, we were greeted well with a smile and were offered water, tea and coffee when entering/going out. Breakfast was nice, a lovely spread with fruits, salads, cheeses, meats, cereals, pastries, tea and coffee etc. The room was always kept clean and tidy for us, water and towels were replaced. The house keepers were also nice and helpful. One of the best highlights for us was staying at this hotel. Our transfers were sorted with no fuss. We would like to thank the staff for making our stay a pleasurable one.
Supercalifragilistic!
Wonderful location for touring Istanbul. All in Yilsam were courteous and amicable. The breakfast buffet display has been, so far in our trip, beautiful and delicious…complimented with an impressive view of the Marmara port. Worth to stay at the Yilsam.
This was an okay hotel located in a good location of Istanbul for access to major sites. Very nice breakfast overlooking the Sea of Marmera. The price I paid through Expedia (EUR 206/night) was more expensive than what the hotel listed on it's price at the hotel (EUR 185/night) so that was disappointing.
Breath taking sea and city views, excellent breakfast selections, clean and quiet rooms, friendly staff, walking distance to major tourist attractions. Can’t ask for more!
This is not a comfortable hotel
The star rating on this hotel is missleading. This hotel offers only a great view. Uncomfortable cushions, no AC, mildew in bathrooms. You have to open the windows to get some air, but there is a minaret right in front off you with loudspeakers to call Muslims for prayer that starts at daybreak around 5am and continuous 5 times a day which wakes you dead on. We were exhausted and had backaches from the sleeping situation and had to switch to another hotel without getting any refund. Even the mentioning of our discomfort was addressed very arrogantly. This hotel needs to be evaluated in star ratings!!
Room sizes are smaller than shown in pictures on the website. However, staff is helpful.
All good except a little too south of the city
We arrived late at night and it was our first time inTurkey. I expected the hotel to be on a wide street surrounded by lots of other tall buildings instead it was on a small narrow road and didn’t look like it was a hotel and my heart sank !! But after having spent couple of days in the area, we could not have been more fortunate at having selected this hotel. All the historical sites that we wanted to visit were literally walking distance. The hotel staff were really nice and helpful and the hotel was impeccably clean! Would go back and also recommend family and friends to stay there!!
Wonderful boutique hotel! Breakfast was excellent! The staff were also very helpful. I would stay any time here! Paul Retired Int’l Airline Captain
Very welcoming and professional friendly service
My daughter and I stayed at the hotel from November 12 through November 17. We had a wonderful stay. The staff is so helpful, friendly and welcoming. The location of the hotel is excellent for all the main historical sites, such as Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi museum. The breakfast buffet is excellent, so many different varieties of food. There are also good local restaurants close by, walking distance, not too pricey( 150 TL to 300 TL). There are also some supermarkets close by for things like bottled water, fruits and toiletries. The hotel provides bottled water every day and keeps it in the fridge, for no additional charge. The views from the breakfast room are spectacular.
muy buena opcion.
muy buena ubicacion. excelente servicio. habitaciones pequeñas.
Great view from restaurant, good complimentary breakfast and comfortable room. Really great spot!
Great location just a few minutes walk from the Hippodrome , very friendly and helpful staff, sea-facing room is an absolute must, even sorted out shuttle transfers to and from the airport
Enjoy my stay. Was traveling alone and felt safe. Nice and comfortable room. Very accommodating and friendly stuff. Will stay at that place again if visiting Istanbul.
Polite accociation
Everyone took great care of us and it was beautiful. Bonus for air conditioning in August.
The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Sultanahmet Square which is fabulous. It's a beautiful, boutique hotel in the old quarter and there's a minimarket and pizza and pasta restaurant two minutes away. I highly recommend it. Breakfast was included and had the usual wonderful array of Turkish food, yummy! Our room overlooked the busy street but, with very good double glazing, we didn't hear a thing. I inadvertently booked twin beds and they were very comfortable. A beautiful oasis of calm.
The staff are wonderful and the included breakfast a bonus. The only complaint was fact despite saying it is close to the mosques, it’s important to know the location is very hilly and not suitable for elderly or people with young kids. We spent a lot of money on taxis, to and from more lively areas like Galata.
Costumer service was excellent to top to bottom
I stayed for 5 nights and it was a pleasant stay at Yilsam. Close to all major attractions and staff helped me with airport transfer and other activities. I would highly recommend
Good location. Nice hotel. Very accomodating staff.
The best feature of this property is a location. It is very conveniently tucked near the Blue Mosque and other attractions. Breakfast is very nice also. lots of choices. The room we stayed in was very small for 3 people, we barely had space for our suitcases. And 2 out of 3 receptionists did not speak very good english.
Very nice place to stay.it’ 8 min walk from the blue mosque 🕌. Beautiful view from the restaurant and breakfast all fresh. Highly recommended.
Our stay at Yilsam Sultanahmet Hotel was highly disappointing. Firstly, we were charged an additional fee for one person despite booking a room for three people. This unexpected extra charge left us dissatisfied from the start. Moreover, the state of cleanliness in the hotel was unacceptable. The bathroom had terrible mold, which raised concerns about the overall hygiene standards. To make matters worse, the cleaners themselves appeared unwell, coughing and sneezing in the room while attending to their duties. This created an unsafe and uncomfortable environment, especially for elderly individuals accompanying us. Additionally, the quality of the breakfast was extremely poor. Unfortunately, we ended up getting food poisoning. This incident further added to our disappointment and dissatisfaction with the hotel. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Yilsam Sultanahmet Hotel. The issues with cleanliness, safety, and the quality of the meals were significant and overshadowed any positive aspects. We hope that the hotel management takes these concerns seriously and takes immediate steps to improve their services for future guests.
Overall nice hotel with an amazing sea views. Clean room but AC wasn't working, we were told only heaters work. No bar available.
I like everything
Location is great, staff very friendly and accommodating- great service throughout. I will definitely book again if going to Istanbul
It was a good stay overall but not worth the money they’re charging for it per night, best thing about it is the location as only round the corner from the blue mosque but expected abit more luxury for a 4* stay and would have liked abit more of a different menu as not everyone likes Turkish food d
This was a good stay. The staff are very friendly, kind and informative. I think the best hotel staff I have ever come across- they made my birthday so special - I felt so humble with their kindness. Hotel location was really good, i loved being so close to mosque and was very close to all main tourist area. I will surely stay here if I go Istanbul again.
Very good hotel, just three blocks from the Hippodrome. Very good cleaning, the attention of the staff is excellent and they are all very attentive to the needs of the guests. If you choose a room with sea view you can contemplate beautiful views. I recommend it.
The staff service is super. Nice polite and very helpful
🙂
It was a little bit away from everything.
Very nice area for tourists
This property is near all the activities and attractions. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. As the amenities for the property they had nothing inside the hotel. All they had was morning breakfast, other then that they had nothing. When i booked the hotel i checked all the amenities that they offered and listing showed they offered all the amenities that a tourist would need such as restaurant on site, garden cafe, terrace, laundry service. 24 hours room service. All the amenities were a lie. When we got there they had nothing. So be careful booking this hotel. If you are looking for amenities then this hotel is not for you. If you are looking for just a place to sleep then it is a great place to stay near all the attractions
The hotel offered us an amazing experience - friendly and welcoming stuff, delicious breakfast and lots of food variety, and on top of that amazing view from the breakfast terrace and room to the sea and port. We arrived very early in the morning and concierge made an early check-in and offered a room upgrade free of charge. In general, the hotel has a very convenient location, next to all tourist spots - Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and many other- are literally around the corner (approximately 5 minutes walk away), still the street itself is very quiet and away from main crowds and bustling city sounds. The hotel sound insulation is very good, but the neighbouring mosque is very close, which means that the first namaz before the sunrise can be heard from the room, but I wouldn't call it a disadvantage, as it gives an additional authentically value to the hotel. Many thanks to the hotel stuff, and I sure give 10/10 to the hotel rating, and I am very happy to have chosen this hotel for my stay in Istanbul.
Newly build, clean, comfortable and super convenient. Rooms in which I stayed, were bit small but very clean & comfortable.
I recently stayed at Yilsam and everything was wonderful. The staff was so pleasant and helpful, and the view I woke up to everyday was beautiful.
Very friendly staff, close to Sofia and old town
Amazing
Great hotel, very clean, breakfast excellent, location very good and the most important people working there are absolutely amazing, very friendly, professional and helpful. Big thanks to everyone, every single person especially Muhaned breakfast chef.
Great place great staff!
Excellent hotel with very professional staff. Friendly service all the time. Nice breakfast buffet served on the terrace of the hotel with a great view of the Bosporus Sea. I highly recommend this hotel. I stayed in a nice room with a sea view.
We liked the fact the the hotel was perfectly situated between the main attractions i.e. Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, the Blue Mosque, and the Hagia Sophia.
The facilities are modern and clean. The room we were given when we arrived was on the first floor facing the street. All of the street noise was transmitted to the room through the large window. After we complained, a clerk in the lobby (don't know his name, but he grows a partial beard, refused to move us to another room. However, another clerk, called Nevzat, helped us move to another room on the third floor, but still facing the street, the noise was better. The breakfast facility is good, but the breakfast food was just average. An employee that worked in this facility was rude, but the rest of the employees were pleasant. The room price was reasonable.
Excelent breakfast, very comfortable stay
Bestestest location, Bestestest staff and amazing food.
Friendly boutique hotel great location
Lovely boutique hotel in Sultanahmet. Walkable to all the sights in the old city. View from breakfast window spectacular. All the staff were happy and helpful. Great introduction to Istanbul. We were welcomed with our first Turkish coffee. Such a kindness
One of the best hotels I ever stayed in. The staff was super friendly and helpful, they even let us check in early and gave us a free check in day breakfast as well when we arrived early in the morning. They arranged the texis from and to the airport and also lended us umbrellas when it was raining in Istanbul. The breakfast was the best literally and the views from our room and the restaurant were breathtaking. The location of the hotel is so convenient literally its just 5 mins walk from main Sultanahmet side where all the famous attractions are. Highly recommended if you are travelling to Istanbul.
Nice and clean, spacious room
Spectacular view!!! and the friendliest staff. Super close to the blue mosque
The best hotel in istanbul
Amazing hotel, amazing staff we enjoyed our stay and definitely will be booking here again, staff are so friendly, the hotel manager came to pick us up in his car from another hotel which was only 10 mins away with my partner being pregnant she was struggling we can’t thank him enough this shows the hotel is willing to go above and beyond for there customers, the hotel is situated 3 mins away from the main stretch which leads to the Grand bazar, Blue mosq and several restaurants and shops such a bonus allocated in the perfect spot. special thank you to the kitchen staff, the cleaners and receptionist for making our stay very special and providing an A* service. every time iv visited turkey iv always stayed at sura but what a mistake that was wish we had known about this hotel earlier. definitely recommend and we definitely will be back soon. thank you
Amazing place
Simply Superb
Good location. The staff were welcoming, responsive, friendly and supportive. A special thanks to Mr. Muhammed & the Manger. Breakfast was good and the view was amazing. we enjoyed and if we come to Istanbul again we will stay at yilsam in sha allah
Best in Sultanahmet
Amazing staff, clean, very good breakfast and the best part is amazing view from rooftop where they serve breakfast
Nice quaint hotel close to blue mosque
Yilsam sultanahmet hotel is a small boutique hotel about a 10 min walk from blue mosque and 15 mins from Ayasofia. It is well connected to Cemberlitas tram which connects to other stops and stations. Close to the Sokullu camii (the view right outside the window) and the sound of the adhan. Breakfast was fresh every day with regular company from the seagulls (don't sit by the window if you don't like birds!) Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. If you are a light sleeper - I'm afraid the hotel isn't very sound proof you will be able to hear the other guests esp families. Guests with children - there isn't much space for children to run around Lots of restaurants around for lunch and dinner. Recommend the taxi shuttle to airport though pricey but the area has many sloping / hilly roads and it will be difficult to drag luggages. A short stay is sufficient for a touristy time in sultanahmet.
The location is amazing The stuff very kind and very arranging Excellent service and delicious breakfast. Everything overall was wonderful. Thank you Yilsam Sultanhmet Hotel.
They are the best.
It was a quiet a welcoming setting. Walking distance to a lot of fun historic places. But most of all, I loved every staff member I met there. I genuinely felt that they cared about me and my family and did everything they could to make our stay a memorable one.
Exceptional
It was excellent.
Location, customer service, rooms we nice and clean with an awesome view, breakfast delicious! Highly recommended!
I enjoyed to staying in this hotel
Staff were great, housekeeping was great. Breakfast view is amazing. Room is clean and spacious enough. We stayed in Room Z202 and we had a problem with a minor leak from the AC condenser. Obviously, it’s going to tame a while to repair it but they should’ve offered to transfer us to a different room. Our bathroom was wet and their solution was to put towels in the floor.
Wonderful, Helpful staff. Clean rooms and exceptional service.
Great location. The staff is extremely helpful, friendly, and caring. We will definitely come back.
Excellent location, close to all top attractions in Istanbul, very clean, well kept hotel with all basic amenities. The highlight of the hotel is their freshly prepared delicious breakfast buffet every single day and their helpful super friendly staff! I would recommend this hotel to anyone with families. My family totally enjoyed staying at Yilsam! Thank you for the great service and keep up the good work!!
Good hotel, the staff was great
I would stay there again
The hotel staff were so helpful and responsive. The hotel is clean and the superior suit room is very nice. Breakfast is very good and breakfast room is very beautiful. The hotel location is excellent if you are planning to move around walking, not recommended for someone with limited mobility. In general, I would stay there again.
Very friendly boutique hotel
Friendly, helpful staff, great view from the restaurant and from our room (we chose to pay extra for the view).
Excellent
Everything was very good, i do not get pleased easily but i can not find any thing not to pleased with this hotel. It was cleaned , newely renovated with friendly staff. Will stay again!
Location was excellent. Staff was very accommodating to needs and directions. Beautifully decorated, clean, quiet and very comfortable beds.
It's a mixed review
The hotel is ideally located with a 4 mins walk to the Blue mosque & Aya Sofia. It also felt safe, clean & pleasant overall. The breakfast was outstanding & we enjoyed views from the terrace was gorgeous. We had a garden room, our room had access to a private garden. We were provided water bottles & fresh towels daily. The beds were clean. The staff was decent enough. These are all the positives. On the negative: The first night our a/c didn't come on immediately. But it worked fine after the first night. Our bathroom was clean & had all the amenities but the the shower revolving door would come undone on the hinges every time we slid it shut during the shower. The plug hole would drain v slowly in the shower. But we could still live these things, however on the last night, our room lost electricity. The entire hotel had electricity except our room. This happened after midnight, we hadn't packed, charged our phones and were exhausted. The hotel was most unhelpful in trying to resolve the issue and blamed my charger plug for the fuse. In the end, I asked for an extension cable to allow us a fan and plug in our charged and got it fixed in the morning. I was travelling with my son who is Autistic so this was particularly stressful me. Hotels.com customer service was excellent. They helped me a lot with getting a partial refund. I think we were unfortunate these things happened to us. I'm sure the chances of this happening to others may be unlikely.
The view from the room of the sea was absolutely stunning, they also had a rooftop view. The hospitality of the staff was great. The room and bathroom were clean.
Excellent hotel and location
Amazing wee hotel close to the Blue Mosque. Lovely staff and set up. Upgraded room to sea view and a suite which was lovely. Recommended for Istanbul anytime.
Highly recommend the ocean view room. Staff was very helpful with information and organizing out airport transfer. Fantastic location with lots of great restaurants and just a 10 min walk to many of the landmarks we wanted to see.
