Centrally located, all the action is right out the door, 1 minute walk to the main square where the Fri Cheese market is held.
Great location. Room was very small. Not suitable for more than one person. Friends stayed around the corner for a similar price and it was much nicer
This was our second time staying here. We love this cute little place. Staff was super friendly and it's location is perfect for the cheese market and other sites. There is no air conditioning is the only downside. We definitely will stay here again if we are back in that area.
All staff were really helpful and the room was clean with unexpected extras like completely ear plugs, safe and a fridge with water, pop and a few snacks. A beautiful location in with canals and tourist attractions on the doorstep. Also a great base to get to Oosterhout parkrun. My room was a little tired with a cracked window and other mantinance bits with a steap staircase so not advisable for anyone with mobility isues but overall a great stay and would recommend and would stay again. X
Loved everything about it! Definitely will be back. Lovely staff as well.
OK place for one night
The location was fantastic...easy walking distance to main attraction area. The room was quite small with little room to put our luggage and other items. The WC was in a seperate room from the shower and sink. The shower area was very small and as a result everything in that area got wet. The staff were helpful and friendly. They stored our bikes inside which we appreciated. We chose not to have breakfast there as we thought it was over priced.
We had a nice stay at the Wolf Hotel. There was a little confusion at check in as we received an email saying we could check in at 2:00 but when we arrived, a fairly flustered server said that check in was at 3:00. She did check on the room and it was ready by 2:00. The other staff were quite helpful, our room (#1) had its own balcony to sit outside, and faced the back of the hotel (avoids the street noise at the front on the canal and over the restaurant). We also ordered the breakfast in the morning, which was great-a little of everything from eggs and bacon, to fruit, juice, coffee and croissants and a pancake. So for one night, it was a nice stay.
Everything about the room and staff were fine. Great central location. Alkmaar is a very cute Dutch city and worth the visit.
Charming hotel at an affordable price
A wonderfully charming place staffed by very friendly professionals. Every breakfast was delicious. The room was super clean and comfortable, if fairly small. The view from the room was okay but the view from the roof was a bit better. Taxis will get you 90% of the way there but you'll have to hoof it that last 100m or so. The train station is at the outer edge of walking distance, esp w/luggage, but that only matters when you're checking out anyway. Amsterdam is 44 km (20 mins by taxi, 30 mins by train) away. The stairs are spiral and very steep so be careful if you're clumsy or frail or have heavy bags. The downstairs bar is brightly lit and offers traditional Dutch breakfast and every libation you could possibly want. Everyone speaks English and makes you feel like a valued guest, not just a customer. They are very sweet. I recommend the Wolf Hotel for this reason, as well as Alkmaar being a charming town w/all manner of restaurants and photo opportunities. The hotel costs about 1/2 what a comparable hotel in Amsterdam does.
Nice hotel but in a noisy area
The hotel is extremely nice but I was disappointed with poor sound insulation and the extreme amount of noise coming from outside.
Loved this place💕 Food really good, staff friendly. Bedroom clean and cozy. Note; Stairs going up to rooms would be a problem for those who struggle with stairs...no elevator....we were happy they took our suitcases up for us on arrival. Could use a couple hooks or towel bar to hang towels to dry resulting in less room service😀. Location is prime for old town and cheese market and right beside canal, very scenic. Also loved the two little fireplaces in the restaurant and in the outside seating area. Lovely place....would definitely recommend it.
I liked the location to main attractions in Alkmaar. Our hotel room at the back of the hotel was over kitchen, so could be noisy for those wanting to retire before 10:30 pm
Great Location, Comfy Bed, Great Service
The location of this hotel can't be beat! If you have large luggage good luck getting up the stairs (I didn't so it wasn't any issue for me). The bed was very comfortable (so many are like sleeping on concrete) and there was a fan in the room which is always appreciated! The breakfast was an incredible platter that was enough food for breakfast and lunch and if you tell them you are vegetarian they will accommodate (maybe vegan as well but I'm not certain). They let me bring my bicycle inside at night and said it wasn't a big problem if I was a little late checking out.
Fab
I really enjoyed my stay at Wolf's k&b ; restaurant food was very good and plentiful & the staff there made my stay all the more pleasant; thank you & I hope to return in the future.
Very friendly staff and clean just a bit hard for taxi to get to. Right in the center where the cheese market takes place.
Five star
Great location, friendly staff, clean room. Would stay here again.
Nice room, great location, some street noise
I booked the Hotel MIJ and was slightly confused on arrival to find it has been renamed to the Hotel Wolf (Wolf Kitchen Bar Hotel). It's in a great location by a canal in the heart of Alkmaar, ideal for visiting the historic centre. The hotel is a pleasant 15 min walk from the railway station. Check in is at the bar, although there is a separate external door for accessing the rooms above, via a fairly narrow winding staircase. One slight problem late on a Saturday night in summer was having to squeeze past the occupants of a table placed right outside this door to get inside! My luxury room overlooked the canal, quite large, very comfortable, nice shower, small safe, fridge with a couple of complimentary cans of drink in it, kettle e.t.c and a useful plan of the city. It looked good, as if it had been recently refurbished, and compared well to the typical 4 star rooms you would find in Amsterdam for example. One issue with the hotel's very central location is that the local nightlife can create some noise, especially noticeable as I stayed on a sunny Saturday night at the end of June and a lot of people were sitting outside. Complimentary ear plugs were supplied, although I didn't use them as there was a large electric fan in the room - when I switched it on, it drowned out the sounds from outside almost totally. I liked this hotel and would stay here again, just bear in mind that depending on your room it could get a bit noisy at the weekend or on warm summer nights.
Nice small place
Very nice small boutique hotel. Steep Dutch stairs, but younger and fitter staff carried my bag. Above a bar but with seperate entrance. Was not troubled by noise. Totally in the Centre of Alkmaar
Definitely go back
I would highly recommend this hotel and Alkmaar. Lots of places to wander and the hotel is in a lovely location. Host was very helpful and lovely. Preferred Alkmaar to Amsterdam and would definitely come back. Host was worried that we might find the room small but it was perfectly fine.
Amazing Alkmaar
Location is Fantastic, Hotel is very small but very clean. Staff is very helpful. Would stay there again.
Really excellent
Stylish hotel, friendly staff
The hotel is stylish and efficiently designed; rooms are typically small for a European hotel, but everything is very modern and laid out well. The staff was extremely helpful. Get the breakfast: it's huge and delicious and extremely well-prepared. The hotel is right on the canal in Alkmaar, which is a really charming small town. A great place to stay.
Hotel with charactet
Excellent location for a very quirky hotel. Room was small but good with clean shower room, toilet and very comfortable bed. Best breakfast ever. I would definately recommemd this hotel and will stay there again if I am in Alkmaar. The town is well worth a visit.
Clean rooms, lovely staff
I had a great time, I loved the hotel and the location. staff and manager are very nice and friendly.
Great location, clean and quiet.
There is no lobby, since the hotel is connected with a restaurant/lounge. But once in the room, wow... very clean and everything is nice. Super quiet at night, almost *too* quiet. Once outside, it is a 30 second walk to Waagplein, the center of Almaar (where the cheese market is held during the summer). Perfect.
Nice restaurant, worn down room
Good restaurant and a beautiful neighbourhood, but the room itself was somewhat worn down. The smoke from the smokers in the street drifted into the room, the door gave off load alarm signals when I tried to close it, and I couldn’t get the light in the bathroom to work. I’m certain these issues can be, and might already be, adressed though. I cannot recommend Alkmaar enogh. So don’t hesitate to go.
Super schöne Lage in mitten der ouwde staad super leckeres Frühstück freundliches Personal Alles st Fußläufig zu erreichen
It’s a terrible smell in the room, like in cloak Location to visit Alkmaar by feet is greet
Heerlijk eten en een top locatie
Zeer vriendelijk personeel, prima kamer, schoon!
Good service
I have trouble in my trip . it is really nice experience with wolf hotel. they are kind and helpful . To be honest , you need the good support in your trip and hold wolf give you a good choice . speaking good English . anyhow Wolf hotel is your best choice
Prima. Heerlijke kamer. Leuk hotel in gezellige omgeving
Hartje centrum Alkmaar
Je moet niet slecht ter been zijn. Tweede verdieping zonder lift, lastige trappen. Website van menu niet up to date. Fantastische matrassen. Topstad Alkmaar! Zeker om nog eens terug te komen.
Midt i sentrum. Flott beliggenhet.
Flott atmosfære, fin beliggenhet og flott rom. Meget god frokost.
Mooie kamers en centraal in Alkmaar
Hotel MIJ heet nu Hotel Wolf Kitchen Bar en Restaurant. Dat was dus even zoeken.
In the centre of Alkmaar
The hotel is in the centre of Alkmaar, near a parking. A verry beautiful room. The breakfast was above our expitations...verry good
Tolles Altstadt-Hotel
Very quaint, in the center of the village, everything within walking distance. Breakfast on site. Excellent dinners and lunches available on site. Friendly staff. No elevator, but help with luggage.
