The ranch was amazing! My gf and I had a fabulous time enjoying a relaxing and fun Labor Day weekend. The horse back riding is a must - we’ve not been on a horse in over 20 years & the guide was great & horses are very gentle and well mannered. The pool and hot tub was great to relax and enjoy a beautiful sunset. The only downside was the restaurant was booked - make sure to RSVP! We did go into town, about 15 minutes, and there are plenty of food options also. Will definitely be going back!

Ranch experiences
Our stay…
It was great, we loved the place. However there was an error with my booking. They showed me as having two rooms booked so I had to pay double. Hotels.com only showed one room. Zero cell phone service and the WiFi could use help.
The staff didn’t seem to care and explained multiple times to us that it was in the process of being sold therefore they just put maintenance and everything on hold. The TV in our room didn’t work and we were told sorry not sure what to tell you. We planned an activity that they weren’t able to accommodate (half the reason why we chose this resort was because of the activities to do). For what I paid a night, I expected things to work and staff to not say oh we are selling so you get what you get.
Peaceful
Amazing, peaceful, stunning views. Plenty of ranch activities
Great experience, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Only downside we found was the layout of the main building with the game room in the center, occasionally when people were playing games it was noisy.
Beautiful views! The pool was nice and relaxing. Food at the restaurant was delicious. If you want the Texas experience, this is the place.
This place is fantastic! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food was fabulous and the facilities were great. Pool was perfect and the supply of pool towels super convenient. We stayed one night on our road trip round Texas but would love to have stayed longer!
beautiful!!!
The Wildcatter Ranch is beautiful and everyone is very friendly.
Location was nice. Staff was welcoming. Foyer was presentable. Cleanliness of the room, not so much. Carpet was nasty, the room smelled awful.
Loved the remote location, the views were spectacular, the property is beautiful, the restaurant is excellent and staff all very friendly
Ok. Excellent restaurant. Breakfast was fairly limited. Staff were very friendly. Activities were overpriced for what they were.
Activities were much to expensive! The food was Amazing but also very costly we had to share our meals due to cost for elderly people maybe allow seniors to buy kids plates ? Justin idea ! Other that cost we had a nice 1st Anniversary trip! Thank You!
It wasn’t exactly what I thought a ranch experience would be. Somewhat disappointed in the trail ride experience. Really nothing to see except dusty trails and expensive to ride for about an hour. The romantic trail ride was awful. We rode horses to a “campsite “ and they couldn’t lite a fire for anything. All we got was smoke in our eyes and plate of grapes and cheese, meat was chewy and slimy and a cheap bottle of wine.
Stayed in the hotel which is clean and staff very friendy beds not so good large sqeaking noise eevry time u move
Exceptionally clean, quite and the staff was overly attentive.
We were in a cabin, the view was amazing. The pool is only 3 feet deep, not good for y’all people. The beds are extremely uncomfortable, there is NO LUNCH at the hotel, only breakfast and dinner. The activities are so much fun and our guide Jhon was amazing! Aaaahhhh the steak and sweet carrots at the steakhouse are phenomenal!
It was what we made it. When we checked in, the staff was friendly and apologetic, but we had to wait for room to be ready so we drove around the property, but the roads were not very passable to get to places. There is not alot of privacy at what they call cabins. The room itself is nice and large, but the back porch offers no privacy or space from other 3 rooms that are combined in the one cabin. The views were nice and serene but you really can't see much. It's not a very walkable property. The pictures on website are a bit misleading. The horseback ride was disappointing as it was just a walk through rocky treed pasture area, but not with much to see. Even when you walked past the Brazos river, we didn't stop to see it. The guide never talked or anything unless asked specific questions. Our dinner at the steakhouse was disappointing and expensive. The bacon wrapped quail was good but the chicken-fried steak gravy tasted very floury and the peppered salmon special tasted burnt. We had hoped for a steak but not at $50. The town of Graham really has only fast food choices. We drove out to see Possum Kingdom and the dam but not much to see/do in that area either. All-in-all it was an expensive weekend for napping.
The Wildcatter was just a beautiful, peaceful place. I would not hesitate to return one bit.
Loved every minute! Everything was perfect. The rooms, activities, dining, pool. EVERYTHING! Highly recommend. Such a beautiful place. I enjoyed many sunsets by the pool and many morning coffees in a rocking chair taking in the view. The beds were so comfy and the detail in the rooms beautifully unique. Could not recommend this place highly enough!
Great country vacation to see some amazing nature.
Comfy and romantic
Absolutely loved our stay here. Comfortable bed and lovely sheets and bedding. Cell reception wasn’t great, but I saw that as positive since I was there to escape and relax. Breakfast was amazing. Loved the lodge feel of the lobby and how it is laid out. Nice romantic place. Gorgeous views everywhere.
We loved the beauty and serenity of the ranch.
Beautiful place to stay and the great steakhouse on the property
Restaurant was fair at best. Food was over cooked, baked potato was old. Dessert was good.
Rugged outdoor areas.
Old People with English Bull dog "GERTIE"
Really nice stay..... We really enjoyed visiting with crew at the barn.....they really made the stay FUN....Eat at the Steakhouse.... we both had ribeyes and they were great....Only thing one of the days were there it was 114...HOT!!!!!
Do not recommend
The hotel is in desperate need of updates, the carpets are filthy and definitely need to be replaced. The hotel is over priced at about $250 a night. There is no complimentary breakfast or any type of view from the window. The beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable. The staff was nice and helpful when needed. We will not be returning to this place
Gorgeous place!! We didn’t want to leave.
Very nice place for a relaxed weekend.
The representative that checked us in was very friendly, very welcoming. Everyone else, not so much. Don’t think we’ll be back.
Beautiful place! Can’t wait to come back
Place is nice but under staffed , horrible internet conection
Food was horrible
The service and the food in the restaurant was horrible. I ended up sending my food back and drove into town, several miles away, and bought snack food from Walmart and ate in my room. When I have business in Graham I stay at the Wildcatter Ranch for two reasons: the scenery and good food. The food this trip was the worst I have ever had here.
Staff lady didn't take care of my bill at checkout as usual. She called me around 4 hours later saying she will call the police unless she gets another card without even let me speak first. Credit cards have their own policies when you are out of town. I paid right away with another card. I send a message about this issue and I never got an answer. Everybody else at the Ranch was very nice and professional. In more than 30 years of staying at different hotels, resorts, etc., I never ever had an issue like this one.
Glad I went. Won’t make it a habit
Nice hotel. For the price not really worth it. Rooms were cramped but comfortable. Breakfast was an extra charge, and wasn’t early enough for us to enjoy it. Restaurant was delicious.
Great property
Great getaway.
Great getaway spot. Highly recommend the Jeep ride and feeding the longhorns. Restaurant is a bit pricey but good! Cabin was quaint and clean! Fantastic scenery!
Nice place. It's showing its age here and there. Lobby has an odd smell like its very old. Beds and pillows weren't as comfortable as some. Staff was very friendly.
Better The First Time
First let me start by saying that my husband and I visited Wildcatter Ranch in 2012 and it was AMAZING! Unfortunately, I believe the ranch has been sold since then. When I walked in the first thing I noticed was the smell. It smelled faintly of rotten eggs. As I was walking up to the “front desk” which is currently the bar, l noticed that all of the flower arrangements on the tables in the lobby were dead. They’ve turned what was the front desk area into a gift shop so I’m not sure what their permanent plans are for a front desk. I arrived at 1:00 in time for my 1:30 horseback ride. I asked if there was early check-in available and she said yes they had a room cleaned. When I stepped into the elevator it smelled like feces had been rubbed into the carpet. My daughter and I tried not to breathe while riding up to the second floor. When I got to my room the door was cracked open and I thought they must’ve done that with all of the clean rooms that were ready for check-in. When I opened the door a wave of cheap cologne hit me, the bed was not made and there was an empty can on the nightstand. I waved down a maid and she apologized sincerely. She was very nice. She reassured me that my room would be clean when I got back from riding. The “cowboys” who took us on our trail ride were really nice but it was one of their first trail rides on the ranch and the other had only been there 2 months. The pool was great. The steakhouse was fabulous.
the place is exelent I highly recomend id to any body who want to enjoy the real nature...
Great potential at this ranch. Very nice property. Very confused Management. We drove 2 hours to enjoy horse back riding and other activities only to be told that they made a mistake in the activities reservation day and time. Dissapointed kids and adults. The cabins were nice but now in September full of crickets, since the doors don't latch. I would recommend staying in the hotel if you don't like bugs. Dinner was great, the steak was excellent.
We really enjoyed our weekend stay at the Wildcatter. The cabin rooms are decorated nicely. The beds were reasonably comfortable. The pool was amazing - we spent a lot of time there. We booked several activities, which were a lot of fun. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant was WAY better than it needed to be. The staff, drinks and meals were all excellent. But the main attraction was the beautiful scenery surrounding the ranch and the sound of the cicadas. The only CON would maybe be the price. The room itself is reasonably priced, but when you add up dinner and drinks and activities, it can get very expensive fast. That would be the only thing that might keep me from booking again, although I fully expect we will return again. This is an excellent, fun destination for couples and families.
Wildcatter Ranch was an excellent getaway from DFW for a couple days, the room was clean spacious and comfortable. The steakhouse food was excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive in all areas of the operation from lobby check-in, to wait staff, bartender and housekeeping. Five Stars!
Quick get away
Beautiful surroundings and clean rooms. Enjoyed the facility.
Won't be back!
If you forget anything in the room! Make sure housekeeping doesn't have it in their bucket in the lost and found area. That would be okay! If they would have informed the front desk they had it. I drove 60 miles back two days later to pick it. I called a head of time to inform the front desk I was on my way. Upon arrival the older blonde at the desk didn't even have it at the front. Made me walk to the pool area to get my watch. Plus she was rude! Side note there where steps on my tracker. Some one had been using it. All the information was tracked on my email. The Breakfast in the lobby should be free! lol! You have to pay for that. I would visit off and on since 2006. Will not be returning. Breakfast was included back then, The pool was always clean. The pool water needed a good cleaning. Or more salt added. Good things come to an end.
The bed and mattress can be better. And the room requires more lighting.
Due to renovations kind of noisy and messy. I’m sure it will be nice when done
Very beautiful scenery as you sit in a rocker on the back side of the cabin. Room was spotless with lots of space. Actually there are 4 "cabins" in each building. Walls are a little thin. Only negative was the longhorn feeding which was to happen at 0900. Waited till 0920. It never happened. Will definately be back
Everything was great!
If you are looking for a fun, one of a kind, relaxing weekend this is your place! Great BOLD drinks and AMAZING food! The staff is Awesome...Kayci makes great drinks, and good company. Walt, Jacob and Ky are really knowledgeable and make learning easy and fun. I couldnt recommend this place more. I will be back soon!
Peaceful Romantic Getaway
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The cabin was beautiful! The activities are expensive but so much fun! Overall, it was an amazing weekend! We would definitely go again.
Beautiful place and an awesome place to connect with nature. Perfect for hiking for the whole family. Staff was very friendly and professional. Here's why I'm giving 3 stars. This hotel was listed as 4 star hotel which is why I decided to visit for 3 day trip with my family. All the cabins were booked and I could only reserve hotel room. But when I went in, it's really is 2-3 star hotel. There's no safe box, no closet (open rack to hang clothes), old metal key entry (key has your room number on it, so if you drop it or lose it, you're kind of screwed), bathroom wasn't perfect, and coffee maker was very disgusting. Their activities are overpriced but we really enjoyed private horseback riding. Kids really enjoyed the ride and all their horses are beautiful. It was sad and hurtful to see that their horses are overworked and extremely tired with fully booked schedules. The food at the restaurant was very good but their service was extremely slow. They also wouldn't help us alter the menu. We asked them if we can pay extra to add chicken to kid's quesadilla but they said we can't do that. They had no soup on the menu and menu was a bit limited selection. With their super slow service, expect to spend 1.5 hour for lunch and 2 hours for dinner. Their WiFi at the room is pretty solid but cellphone connection is very spotty at the ranch. It's a bit scary to go on a hike without cell service.
Great getaway
Great weekend getaway with a lot of fun activities and beautiful scenery. Highly recommend the horseback riding
Staff was wonderful the pool was amazing. And the steakhouse was delicious.
Wildcatter
Clean and comfortable. Beautiful grounds and breathtaking views.
This is a well run yet cozy place that makes you feel like you’re on the set of an Old West movie (which, in fact, it has been). The views are spectacular.
Great place
Great ranch experience
Amazing views & scenery . One of the most relaxing vacations I have had. The staff is hands off, you can wander & explore all you want. The only snag encountered was some disorganization with the front desk staff & the activities we booked. They changed the dates we signed up for (even tho we booked a month in advance) without communication, we only found out when we checked in. Then when we tried to put the events back at the original time they told us they were completely booked. Front desk staff was not as friendly as the restaurant or ranch staff. Already planning to return in the Fall, I'll just ask for a written confirmation of pre-booked activities.
So glad restaurant was open again, We enjoyed a great meal there
Paisagem maravilhosa !!!
Nós gostamos muito do lugar , uma paisagem maravilhosa, um ótimo restaurante mas a limpeza do quarto deixou a desejar !!!! O chão estava bem sujo e o quarto tinha um cheiro estranho .
Great place
Mid-week break
Great break from the city. Enjoyed the views , pool, and food and drink. Horseback trail ride was fantastic
Lots of dead bugs in the room, horrible service at the restaurant and the pool wasn’t very clean.
Beautiful property with gorgeous Texas countryside views!
this is a little hidden gem up on a hill overlooking beautiful scenery! The cabins are so beautiful. The staff are amazing and super accommodating. The food in the restaurant is superb. I highly recommend you checking out this resort next time you're in the Graham area. Great for families, groups, or just alone time.
The view is pretty for sure. But the hotel pictures they show on the website are misleading. The rooms are so small! They are clean, but old. We had crickets everywhere!! Mainly in the restrooms. For the price you pay, it’s not worth it! I would go to another hotel for less monies. The breakfast was not free and unorganized. Food was normal, nothing special. Overall, I would never go again. Not worth what it costs!
We had a great stay. Loved the views and the restaurant food. The staff was very helpful in setting up a skeet shoot for me so I could dial in a new shotgun.
Like- location, restaurant, friendly Need to improve- pool cushions, pool area needs more shaded areas, hot tub needs to be repaired since the hot water leaked into the pool. The hot water made the pool water even hotter than the 100 degree weather.
Ranch theme and the cowboys. the activities xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The property was very nice and the Ranch Hands or staff handling the activity were amazing and literally made the trip! They were helpful, truthful, and extremely pleasant to deal with! The facility was very clean, but housekeeping is a little lacking! In between activities we would go swimming and then go back to our rooms to get changed and ready for the next activity we signed up for. However, it was about noon and our room and beds still had not been made and we needed clean towels. I called to the front desk and was told they start with cleaning the cabins first. So if your staying in the hotel portion keep this in mind! Lastly the front desk staff was not rude, but very deceptive when it came to giving us the prices on the activities. Also charging us for a round of ammo that we didn’t even get! We will not be going back which is upsetting as I stated above the ranch hand were amazing! Also the breakfast which cost an arm and a leg was HORRIBLE! We were told by other guests this but thought we would try it the first morning. It is really just a continental breakfast that was worst than any free was I have ever had! I would be ashamed to serve that breakfast and charge for it! Definitely expect more from our visit especially with the prices they charge!
Would have liked to have an earlier time options for breakfast. Too noisy outside our room from the saloon.
My kids loved the activities. We fed Longhorns, fished, threw tomahawks and shot bows. The pool is amazing with great views everywhere.
Beautiful and relaxing location, great staff and activities
The service and experience of the ranch and the activities on offer
Refreshing experience! The staff greeted with a smile and was very helpful. We eat at the on-site steak house which was a great experiences as well. Bottom line, my family and I all enjoyed the rustic charm, hill-top views and fine dining.
its a working rancg with first class casual leisurly atmosphere
Excellent customer service! We stayed in the main hotel and my kids were able to go in and out of the resort amenities easily from there. The front desk woman was amazing, she helped them with snacks, and getting balls for the courts and games to play in front of the fire. Thanks to Debbie, and Rocky and the hotel Asst manager we had the best time, even with cold icy weather. Thanks for the best service ever!
Location is awesome. Many fun activities. Great star gazing. Fabulous hot tub. Great walking paths
Great place to rejuvenate and see a part of Texas with an abundance of history. All the staff were great. Take a horse ride.
Dove hunting weekend
Great place and staff were so hospitable and made us comfortable the entire time. Wish the restaurant was open for lunch though
Great place
Amazing resort. Beautiful views, amazing cabins & top notch staff. The restaurant is delicious and the activities are great. We took our 3 & 7 year old boys and had a memorable family getaway. The pool is so relaxing! The staff went above & beyond. My boys said they miss the cowboys already!
An ideal over night getaway!
Good life at the ranch
Great place to enjoy life at the ranch (horse ride, longhorns) while relaxing (infinity pool) and eating at a good steakhouse with a nice wine list
Ok stay
Outside was great and very beautiful but the rooms are not like at all on pictures. Rooms were very small. Also didn't like for breakfast that they make you pay 12 a person and the breakfast was not a great selection of food. We went and got breakfast the 2nd morning.
Beautiful texas mountain views Great room Peppercorn Steak mushrooms mashed potatoes Chicken delmar carrots were amazing
Such a treat to bring my parents for a night away.
Home on the range
I didn’t stay long but the steaks at their restaurant were excellent. Feeding the longhorn cattle was fun.
People that ran the activities were exceptional. Very knowledgeable and so friendly.
Fancy Shmancy
Gorgeous Place! Steep hill to get up too it though, wouldn’t advise pulling something heavy up it like we did. But very cozy, beautiful view, wish we could have stayed longer!
Lovely decor. Great traditional Texas experience. Has lots of activities such as horseback riding.
Great place to stay... restaurant overrated!
Nice place to stay but lots of added expenses once you get there. The restaurant made beautiful dishes that were a lot prettier than they were tasty. The food was so-so.
Great but high end hotel experience. Food was good but not exceptional.
Nice place to stay
Great location and staff was very nice.
Disappointing
Hotel was decent.. definitely not worth the amount we spent for each night. Definitely has potential, just lacking many amenities to be worth $200 a night. Room did not have an alarm clock, had random furniture (as if they were going for the rustic look but failed), TV remote barely worked. Found a rib bone on top of the entertainment center. They wanted to charge $12 a person for breakfast.. it was a joke. They have some options for activities but all seemed overpriced. Felt ripped off when we left and wished we had stayed in Graham at a chain hotel.
Unplugging and relaxing
This location afforded me the opportunity to be in nature and unplug from the busyness of the my regular life. This place is for those looking to unplug and be one with nature. While they had plenty enough activities, the environment was conducive for relaxation and exploring outdoors. I enjoyed myself and especially the dining option. The breakfast buffet was a little more than what I wanted to pay so I went to Walmart to get more affordable snacks and breakfast foods.
Professional & pleasant staff for the activities
