The property suite our requirements very well. We liked that was clean, comfortable and quiet. Recommended

I did not have big expectatin about this location, but it was ok for what it is : a campsite. We were comfortale and had most of what we needed. the only problem is that after sometime the cold water became a bit brownish, so basically we had to survive using the hot water only.

Peaceful and great to go kayaking to the beach from the property

Nice and quiet friendly greeting on arrival, clean and well located ,unit a little old but feels homely, enjoyed our stay thanks Jo.

The reception lady was lovely however the room was not very clean waz very old and outdated room that smelt musty Bed was lumpy and uncomfortable shower pressure was bad and no heating had to use an oil heater, dinning chair's were broken Would never stay there again Was very over priced They need to upgrade everything about the rooms

Loved being so close to the water

Nice setting, there was no one at the offices, no communication, a mouse ran across the floor Overall we did enjoyed our stay.

Property is good for the stayers & specially family ad there's plenty of space for kids to play and roam within the property.

The unit we stayed needed to do big maintenance starting from Bathroom and finishing windows (shower was leaking, it was hard to close windows) and couple of fans in the unit would be great as it was very hot and kids could not sleep at all. so was not quite enjoyable stay.

Friendly quiet atmosphere, well presented cabin, and grounds were well kept.

Cottage had old school charm, felt like a kiwi batch. But in need of an upgrade in the kitchen and bathroom especially.

So far so good. If one token could take 10 mins hot water shower would be good

Basic but all you need!

We're A couple and two friends who really enjoyed our one night's stay. Everything was as expected. The beds were comfortable. We bought our own sheets as requested and actually bright own pillows too. The ones provided were quite thin so one could double up if needed. We ended up with two double beds and plenty of space for our overnight stay. The showers (token operated for five minutes hot water) were very spacious. Please note there is no soap in the toilet though this is to be expected. It rained heavily and was very windy overnight but we were extremely cozy and didn't get any disturbance. We enjoyed our stay and it was only 30 min drive to Hahei (hot water beach or trail to cathedral cove). Steve the caretaker was very helpful and great recommendation of Frankies Pub! It was good value for money (especially during high peak season) and highly recommended for people who have realistic expectations.

The price is great and the property is maintained and clean but the beds are very soft and the pillows are virtually non existent.

Lovely location but everything else was horrible. Only stay here if last resort and even then, reconsider your ability to drive to the next town.

The wifi wasn’t strong enough to reach all areas of the property

Great spot but needs upgrading badly. Cabins are old and tired and bedding was very average.

Nice grounds, amenities & operator. Was not clearly spelt out that there were NO towels or bed linen supplied. All in all a very 1970's experience No smoke detectors fitted in the cabin.

Supplied Beds but not Sheets!

I have never before stayed in accommodation where you are not supplied with towels OR SHEETS! Pillows check, Bedspread check, cutlery check. But seriously no where is it advised you have to supply these yourself! Absolute joke.

overpriced

pretty basic camping ground, ordered a cabin which was fine, however i felt the amenities, toilet and shower were pretty run down and could have been better for the price.. This was a $45-$50 room not $85...

Away from the crowds

Basic old fashioned (1960's) style campground. Clean enough and quiet. Cabins, tent sites and powered van and motorhome sites. Read the fine print on facilities and what is supplied.

The cabins were great value.

The cabins were great value, had a well equipped kitchen as well as the use of the great communal areas. The staff were very helpful.

Very disappointing end to our holiday

Upon check-in we discovered that linen for beds would be an additional cost. I explained to the staff that when you book a cabin with beds you would expect linen to be supplied, unless stated otherwise, and that their establishment did not state this on the booking website. It makes their price look cheaper compared to other establishments when it’s not really. The staff didn’t seem to care about this and weren’t willing to be accommodating to their error. The photos on the booking site also show the beds nicely made up – but they’re not, which is extremely misleading! There appeared to be only one shower and toilet for the entire establishment. The shower had extremely limited hot water (they were only short timed showers to begin with), and with multiple park users using the one shower, it ran out of hot water very quickly! Facilities were old. Set top box wasn't plugged in correctly. Cobwebs on ceiling haven't been dusted in a long time. Out of 17 accommodation places we stayed at during our 22 day holiday, this was the most disappointing!

Although the camp was alittle out of town it was clean tidy and quiet.

Cabin was clean and tidy. Nice verandah. Close to beach and half hour walk to shops. Staff friendly. Only thing was bathroom could have been cleaner.

I loved it. Huge house for little price. Some stream/river in the backyard. Terrace at the back of the house. Friendly staff and beautiful cat :) very clean and comfy and heaters and lounge and everything you need for a good stay with mum and brother :) right next to the beach. Very quiet. You must try this accommodation :)

Simple accomodation in a great location camping with comfort

Mouldy smell and not very clean but otherwise ok.

Cabin had a mouldy smell. Otherwise uneventful and ok.

Outdated facilities

camp ground not well maintained, muddy and soggy when raining. Kitchen and bathroom facility not clean. Beds are not in a good condition, bed bugs?

Rubbish Camp Ground in Whitianga

Arrived to be greeted by woman who had clearly been drinking. Room had leaks that required us to dry floor and put pots under to catch rain. Beds all unmade, no sheets towels or any milk tea coffee etc in room, Bathroom/shower a disgrace. As we were going out for tea we left without confronting the owners. Slept in our sleeping bags for our 1 night stay ... would not have stayed a 2nd night ... worst accomodation we have ever seen, anywhere.
