Perfect!
I went through a LOT to find a room with two double beds and that's what I paid for. When I arrived, I was informed no such rooms were available and they were putting my family in a room with a fold out sofa instead. I don't need to tell you that this is an incredibly uncomfortable experience and I did not appreciate the hotel's bait and switch. I would have booked elsewhere had I known I wouldn't get two actual beds. They also put us in a room adjacent to an elevator shaft that sounded like sleeping in a busy subway station. Laundry facilities were exorbitant and half were not functional. Overall just not the level of experience I expected from a Marriott property. Would definitely not stay here again.
We stayed at the Waikiki Beach Merritt Resort and Spa, and while the place was clean and beautiful, there were a few things that could have been better. There was no kettle or napkins in the room, and the body wash in the bathroom was completely empty. The fridge was also empty, and there was no cold water when we arrived, so we had to go out and grab water even though we were really tired. The parking fee was also extremely expensive, which added to the overall cost of the stay. The biggest issue was with one of the receptionists—an older lady who was pretty grumpy and confused us about whether the resort fee was optional or mandatory. Thankfully, the rest of the reception staff were great and super helpful! Overall, the resort was nice, but a few basic things, better service from certain staff, and more reasonable parking fees would have made the stay much better.
It was amazing and staff was very nice and helpful. Pools were nice too.
The room is renovated and it has amazing views if you are in an ocean front room NOT VIEW don’t make this mistake. The rest of the hotel is outdated and definitely needs renovation the , breakfast restaurant is always busy because the space is small compared to the size of the hotel same applies for the kids pool. Would have been nice to have a bigger pool with a Jaccuzzi on the kids pool side. The overall experience was good but would have been better.
Nice place to stay
The hotel will charge the total amount of the room fee when you check-in.
Nice staff, room was large, clean, and has an excellent view. The ac worked great, bidet in the bathroom was a nice touch. The Italian restaurant on property was great. I wouldn’t recommend the Kuhio grill buffet I’ve had hospital food that was better. Parking was $55 a night and they only have one EV charger that randomly worked if you call security they had a key to get it going. Second time here I would stay again but next time I’d like to stay at a different place.
100.00 deposit extra did not get the room I wanted
We had a great stay. The adult pool was relaxing, and ordering drinks from the bar near the pool was easy with waiter service. Housekeeping staff, front desk and especially the staff at the pool bar and the luau were all fantastic. Lobby is beautiful and the 2 starbucks in lobby areas are a bonus if you can't get a table for breakfast nearby. Fun shops in the lobby...take the ukelele class, which is included in your resort fee!
Love walking literally across the street to Waikiki beach. Everything else is also so close walking distance (the walking strip filled with shopping, restaurants and other fine hotels/dining)
location. provide water equipment and sand chair free. If there is a free breakfast provided , it will be better
Excellent stay
Elevators arrival indication was poor. Had to stand at least 5’ away before you could see the arriving elevator.
This hotel uses the description “ocean view” very loosely. If you can see a sliver of ocean by leaning out the window they will call it ocean view. The staff were super nice and the food was pretty good. My only other note was that the pool should’ve been heated a bit more.
Very clean. Only suggestion is to request people to pick up towels in pool area when they leave, many seats unavailable all day….hard to find open seating in pool area Also, had we known cars were available at the location for rent we could have saved from renting at airport and paying to park
It was an average resort. No room service, no microwave. Staff wasnt helpful but they werent rude either.. it was noisy since oahu is a packed small island
Very beautiful view from our window
Had a very comfortable stay, clean rooms, good dinning option, nice activities at resort. Beach chair and boogie board available to use without any additional fees.
In this hotel, ocean front room may just have partial ocean view. The front desk changed room for us. Thank you. The other concern is that people smoke on balcony. When I enjoy the nice ocean view on my balcony, the smoke is quite bothering.
Marriott Waikiki should not be considered a 4 star property. This is a high turnover low kept property. Cleanliness is a big issue. Housekeeping does a very poor job of cleaning rooms. The beds are very uncomfortable. You can feel the box springs. We found a couple of bed bugs in the room. They followed us home. Now, we have a bed bug issue in our home. I regret my stay at this property and will never be returning back. P.S parking is $55/night and valet $65/night with no nearby lower cost or convenient parking garages. At night, you can hear homeless people and drunk people screaming top of their lungs, even with balcony door closed. DONT WASTE YOUR TRIP ON THIS HOTEL. There are much better options like Hilton Hawaiian Village, Ritz-Carlton, etc.
Check in too slow
Would stay here again. Great location to beaches and shops.
"I really like this hotel because the shower has excellent water pressure, which is very convenient and enjoyable. The shower area is spacious and well-designed, unlike a bathtub, which I personally don’t prefer. However, our room's balcony faced the road, so it was a bit noisy at times. Overall, I was very satisfied, especially with the housekeeping staff who helped take out the trash every day."
Good hotel. Rooms are nice, but not anything upscale. It is a busy property. Gym is nice as is the adult pool. Great being across the street from the beach and having access to beach chairs and boogie boards whenever we needed them. The only reason I will not give this place five stars is because you have to wait for elevators a long time. They really need to upgrade all the elevators on the property. I was also stuck in an elevator with five other people for almost an hour, which was ridiculous. I did receive some credit against my hotel charges, but did not believe that was adequate
Great location and views!
Great stay. Everything as expected
No room service
The property was great, the adult’s only pool was a very nice late evening hot spot to relax and have a drink. Rooms were cleaned and organized every single day, and the bed was the comfiest I had ever layed in. The location was a 9/10 as for walking distance for so many great experiences. The only negatives would be that honestly for the cost of the stay compared to the “resort amenities” I would prefer that you keep the early morning yoga classes and other not so attention grabbing activities and lower the cost of the parking. We parked next door to the resort garage and saved over $200. The second and last negative is more of our fault, but the resort does issue a per night incidental fee “that is refundable” and not a general fee so that tacked on a very very pretty penny to the check-in process.
Rooms were a little outdated
We had a great time staying at Waikiki marriott beach resorts and spa. Definitely upgrade to the oceanfront room. Our view was the best. My daughter loves the beach. It's so convenient. It's across the hotel. Walkable. Lots of dining options. Transportation is easy. Definitely coming back in the near future. Mahalo marriot! To all the staff and our cleaning lady mahalo!
No lines or excessive waiting Everyone very friendly
Was not so great. Front desk person Yoku was great she has very good customer service.
I didn’t like how they charged us so much arriving to the hotel when I had already payed online as well as leaving. I ended up paying $1,500 at the property besides the $2,000 I had already payed online
We love Marriott! I was a little disappointed that they did not have a coffee bar or water station in the lobby, and had to wait online each morning at Starbucks and pay for coffee. The resort itself was beautiful, and the pool was really nice with a restaurant and bar right there for convenience. We got a room right across from the beach, which was lovely. All in all a good visit.
.
Very nice and clean resort. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Resort was close to the beach and loved that we could borrow beach chairs for the day :)
Highly recommend this property.
Great view and conveniently located
Had a few mornings and evenings with no hot water.
Everything exceeded my expectations!
We had a great time. I will say the photos on Expedia are not what you get. Booking through the hotel may be easier, however the hotel was accommodating and switched our rooms to what we had intended to book (ocean view full) they also did nice things for us on our anniversary. Overall we are happy with the hotel. I’d give 3 stars to Expedia though for the lack of appropriate photos for the room you’re booking.
Hotel was nice and clean but they tried to up sale me a room I already paid for, also I requested connecting rooms but since I argued about reservations I made on rooms looking at the beach not next door building, they gave me rooms far apart. I went back and talked to someone else and the only thing I got was rooms closer but not connected. And traveling with kids that’s a must.
Room and hotel was clean. Staff was friendly and welcoming.
The staff were accommodating. Whenever I needed help they were there to help me. Convenient to the ocean, shopping, restaurants.
It is a beautiful property. We enjoyed our stay very much. Great location. Great views of the ocean from our room. Conveniently located to shopping, beach, and restaurants.
Very well upkeep for such a dated hotel. Lots of upgrades, beautiful, friendly staff.
Walls are very thin. I listened to a crying baby every night and doors opening and closing heavily. Even heard the toilets flush from other rooms. Towels smelled like mildew. Pillows are flat. Sheets need some fabric softener. Carpets need some cleaning. Stains from previous guests are very visible. Balcony felt unsafe. Visible cracks on walls and floors. Second time staying in this hotel and I thought this time there would be some improvements but everything’s basically the same.
Right at the beach and lots of activities in and around the resort Also beautiful views and pools within the gated areas - family and child friendly
Will go back!
The noise in my room never stopped. The lock on my door didn’t work, instead of switching me to another room, they continuously tried to fix it but didn’t. I spent hours waiting outside my room for maintenance to let me in. My room wasn’t cleaned even one single time (probably because the lock didn’t work) entire time I was there.
It was very nice clean, housekeepers where very nice along with the rest of the staff.
Would stay again! Amazing staff
Amazing truly in Paradise
If you want to leave the hotel everything is close enough to walk, if you don’t want to, the hotel has everything you need right there to enjoy time away from the crowds
Super chill - best beach access
This property was very clean and our room had a fantastic ocean view which made our stay very enjoyable.
My car was damaged.
Nice hotel. Location was close to beach. Beds seemed small. Overall we would def stay here again.
Everything was great. Kid friendly. Beautiful scenery. I am definitely going back.
My car was damaged in the valet parking
Great job!!!
We recently stayed at the Waikiki Beach Marriott, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Ian, the hotel manager, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. His attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care for guests truly stood out and made us feel incredibly valued. The property itself was immaculate, with every corner of the hotel reflecting cleanliness and care. The rooms were comfortable and beautifully maintained, and the overall ambiance was relaxing and inviting. What truly set this stay apart was the incredible hospitality of the staff. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone we interacted with was friendly, accommodating, and always ready to assist with a smile. The team clearly takes pride in delivering outstanding service. If you’re looking for a hotel that combines a prime location with top-notch service, the Waikiki Beach Marriott is an unbeatable choice. A huge thank you to Ian and the entire team for making our visit so memorable! We can't wait to return.
Huge property. Great location. Great views. Overpriced food especially breakfast. Poor restaurant service (slow).
Building we are staying are okay and room is good and overall it’s good
It was a great resort to stay at. Everything was conveniently close and will definitely try and come again.
Perfect place to stay by the beach
Wonderful property, beautiful view with two roomy balconies, comfortable beds, pillows etc. Great check-in and housekeeping staff. A bigger refrigerator would be helpful, full size coffee pot and small microwave. Otherwise excellent property! Terrific vacation. Good restaurants on site and nearby. Thankyou
Excellent location
Center location Easy in and out
The parking situation in garage a little crowded but overall great hotel
All are Good 👍
Amazing stay! From staff, amenities, and location! We loved it!
Good location
Great
Location was across the street from the beach, which is ideal.
Hotel was kind of lame, it was a good stay since the beach is straight away, but we paid all that for nothing to be included. Not even breakfast Parking daily is 55$ which is a lot. The location was perfect n it was quiet. But kind of pricey just to sleep. Could’ve gotten something cheaper since every place we bought breakfast at was about 50-75$ each day just for breakfast
Very convenient across from the beach ton’s of activities in the hotel highly recommend it.
We love the service!
Excellent service . Beach, food, and stores is all near by.
Nothing
The property itself was great, but the mattress was horrible. I have stayed in plenty of Marriott hotels but this mattress hurt my back and was not soft but springy, which caused my fiancée and I to have a sore back everyday when we woke up. I feel the mattresses need to be updated on the property and this would cause the rating to be better.
Very clean, room service came in every day. Beautiful ocean front room that was modern and made us feel like home. Everyone we came across was friendly and they had a bunch of shops and Starbucks in the resort which made it so convenient for us. Great location full of life with everything you need within 10-15 min. We felt safe and welcome everywhere we went. Will definitely return. $50 a night for resort fee and $50 a night for parking so just be prepared but was definitely worth it. The spa was also a great touch.
It is a wonderful resort with many fun amenities
Everything else was great except the floor carpet in the room seemed very dirty.
The location is amazing. You can walk to pretty much anywhere. Staff not so friendly. I was offered an upgrade but never told I had to bring my stuff down to lobby and wait 3 hours for the upgraded room. I was roomless for 3 hours although we paid for the original room. Had we known we would have not upgraded since the views were pretty much the same. Staff needs better training.
The accessibility was amazing, being able to enter the hotel from different entrances made the experience wonderful. Every morning they had activities for the guests and it was such a joy to participate!! Especially the ribbon lei and flower lei making!
Close to all shops restaurants two views
Staff were very nice
People protesting
Great
We stayed 5 nights at the Marriott Waikiki and everything was excellent. Great location , plenty of dining and shopping options. Clean and great customer service.
Awesome stay
Not a bad spot for the price! Nothing to complain about but also nothing to rave about.
This property was in an excellent location! Just steps to the beach, everything is walkable, clean, great staff!
No good
There was people protesting the whole time we stayed in this hotel
Loved everything about it no complains
Everything was awesome
