The WIFI did not work so we could not do work or look things up while there. We also were not provided with towels and coffee for two people and the room was not replenished the second night we were there with any towels or coffee. The concierge and reception were amazing and the common spaces and spa were stellar.

3 star hotel at best.

Initial check in staff was rude. Extremely poor service to a platinum member. Didn’t even prepare our room early. At check out they tried to charge me again for the room. They had made the mistake and were trying to keep my money. Manager wasn’t willing to come out, he/she was busy. Eventually the attendant agreed that it’s on them, as I’ve clearly paid for the room in advance. During that time, guests checking out were also complaining. Rooms are disgusting, poor interior choice. The only good thing about the hotel are the views from your room. Our tv was tuned to Middle Eastern channels with Arabic language or subtitles on most. Don’t waste your money here. It’s a let down on the Marriot brand.

The W Barcelona made my trip! I honestly enjoyed the hotel and its amenities just as much as the city! Room service was really good and fast. The view from the room was amazing!

Beautiful hotel we had a sea view. We booked this hotel which was conveniently located close to the cruise port. Quiet and clean. Staff was accommodating. Had dining options. Stunning view of the beach. Pool lounge area was amazing and clean. Nice bar lounge on main floor of hotel and rooftop bar with music in the evening. Spectacular views. Not close to shopping areas.

Nice hotel, very busy as has several restaurants & cocktail bar/Nightclub, lots of external visitors.. Breakfast was pretty standard except the hot food wasn’t hot, however the restaurant duty manger did recognise that & instantly resolved our issue, would stay again.. I did get a good deal through hotels.com

This hotel was fantastic. Its location is wonderful, but it’s a beach experience. If you want old Barcelona, stay more in the city center. But if you want the beach experience or breaking your stay in two parts (ideal), then W should be in your list.

The front desk was amazing, the food was really good. I would recommend this hotel to my family every one was nice and accommodating.

Very disappointing. Very far from being a high end hotel. Smells cigarettes in the rooms and corridor. The Hotel needs a lot of renovation. It’s more a hotel made for party animals than a luxurious one.

We checked in early due to an overnight flight from Philly. We were exhausted from traveling and didn’t expect our suite to be ready and it wasn’t. However, the very sweet and professional woman checking us in provided a complimentary courtesy room which was very welcomed. After a nice rejuvenating nap there we were informed that our “Marvelous” Suite was ready. A gorgeous, spacious room with a spectacular view of the beach from one window and the Mediterranean Sea from the other. My wife enjoyed the terrace as a welcomed place for a cigarette. Something nonexistent in the USA any longer. After unpacking we headed out to dinner but stopped for a drink at the bar in the lobby. The bartenders were very friendly and made a perfect martini. (The real way, with gin, not vodka.) we ventured out for dinner and afterwards we returned to the lobby bar for a nightcap. Room service for breakfast was fast and hot. I recommend the French press coffee. Unfortunately we were only here for one night as we’re now leaving for a cruise. (We can see our cruise ship from the hotel room.) We most enjoyed the hip, vibrant and fun vibe here at the W Barcelona and will definitely return.

I love the W Barcelona! The staff are the friendliest and most helpful of any W I have ever stayed in — and that is saying a lot, as it is my favorite hotel brand. The amenities are incredible and you get the most spectacular view whenever you select an ocean view. Enjoy!

Beautiful hotel with numerous amenities. Our rooms were not ready until 5:00 and 5:30, because the hotel was at full capacity the previous night and the cleaning staff was running behind. The rooms are spacious with plenty of closet space. Our minibar had a bunch of things missing but we were assured that “it’s not going to be a problem”. The floor of the large shower was not pitched correctly so the water would flow out into the bathroom. We placed a towel on the ground inside the shower to keep most of the water inside. The outside of the property featured many loungers and pools with cabanas for rent. The one issue we had was that they would close the outside areas at 4:30 each day to set up for private events. One of the reasons we paid thousands of dollars for this hotel was to use the infinity pool, hot tub and poolside loungers, and we were deprived of using them, because the hotel got more money from someone else to reserve those areas. We were actually told that we can use the table with 4 chairs if we pay 1000€ or a 6 person lounger for 2000€. No thank you… The concierge was not helpful in obtaining tickets for sightseeing, actually telling us to use the websites. Also they made a reservation for the hotel restaurant Fire, and then when we showed up, the hostes had no such reservations!! Disappointed

Most of the vacation was excellent. The service of the concierge and the hotel staff was great. The service around the pool and beach however, was awful. They would take our order and it would take so long or never show up. I also got the feeling i was annoying them when i asked about the missing orders. This was on more than one occasion. The room was great and they upgraded us to a higher floor because it was available. The room cleaning service did an excellent job cleaning the room daily and would leave us small treats. Overall it was an awsome experience maybe i just got unlucky with the pool staff.

My disabled father and husband got stuck in one of the elevators at this property - the staff did nothing to help. Did not call emergency services, followed protocol by only calling the elevator company. My family almost suffocated there. Our driver to the airport broke the elevator and got them out. While the staff did nothing.

Great stay

The wait to check-in was more than half of an hour, and the lobby felt chaotic. The room was fine, but the shower had chipped/missing tile pieces and a damaged drain cover. Hallway carpets were stained, wet from rain because the doors were open, and smelled musty. The noise level was a party atmosphere and could be heard from our seventh floor room at 2am. The bar and restaurant food and beverages were delicious and service top-notch. We appreciated the proximity to the beach and Barceloneta area.

Worst 5 star hotel I’ve ever been to. I stayed in room 604 and I just checked out by myself leaving the keys on the front desk because all the employees standing around acting like they own the hotel. Spent so much money to be treated like garbage. I was in line since 11:30 am to be on time for my checkout and no one wanted to help me. As soon as I walked up right in front of the employee who seemed was free like the rest of the employees , he just walks away through the back door and never returned while all the employees are staring but not helping. As soon as someone comes behind me they go ahead and grab their bags and help them . I thought this hotel was supposed to be lgbt friendly . They are lucky I don’t post photos of the mold in their bathroom . Constantly getting the W business through word of mouth but I will never recommend this hotel again.

Amazing minus Noxe

The hotel is beautiful top notch! Check in person was Ana ing anc included breakfast daily for us which was so nice!!! The concierge was great and helped book the high speed train to Girona- pool Side service a bit slow and Noxe was horrible in every way which is what brought the score from 5 to 4

Not up to five star quality.

The good - great location and amazing view from the room, and the beds and pillows are comfortable. I felt safe in this district. The bad - room servicing and kitchen bathroom amenities not replenished (we requested multiple times (daily) to have teabags replenished in our tea/coffee station in our room. We also had to ask for body wash to be refilled. For a "five-star" hotel, this attention to detail should be a given. The ugly - every morning there was an unpleasant smell in the shower from the drains. The conference room is in the basement, so there is no daylight or fresh air.

The W is the most amazing place to stay. While not in city center, the hotel offers many dining options, beautiful views, access to the beach, excellent rooms and facilities. Totally worth staying there instead of city center. Staff and food were also excellent. Highly recommend!

Great Hotel close to the Beach

I had high hopes for this hotel. To start the the trash can in my room was full upon my arrival. The sink was clogged and the mini fridge did not work, it wouldn't get cold. The light switches in the right side of the bed did not work. The charging station in the left side of the bed didn't work either. The staff were friendly especially Bryan at the bar, but they were unable to get the issues resolved. I wouldn't return to this location. Definitely not worth what I paid for the room. The view however was beautiful and the access and proximity to restaurants and shops was convenient.

The w hotel is nice , the staff is also helpful but when it comes to cleaning the rooms, they need to be mindful not to throw out items that’s just laying around. That’s only issue I had and I had to make a complaint about that oven and that a nice hotel is near the beach it is a bit far from certain areas like Port Vell and the La Rambla with a lot of activities to do so be prepared to do a lot of walking or take a taxi, but I mostly walked All the grapes and there’s another apple so if you could take that, I had no issues with it. Overall, it is a nice hotel but I think it’s better to stay at that hotel if you’re going in the summertime so you could experience the pool parties and the beach

Enjoyable stay enjoyable experience.

We had previously stayed at the W Barcelona in 2019 and experienced a great time. However, during this stay, when we initially walked into the room, it smelled musty, the room itself was relatively clean. The real letdown was the club and the bar. The first night we went to the club, the music was not the greatest. The second night it was extremely hot, smelled like sewage with a roll of toilet paper in the hallway, no seating, non hotel guests trying to pick up rich men. We then headed down to the bar downstairs to try to at least get a drink in and sat at the bar for a good 10 minutes without any kind of acknowledgment from the bartender. Definitely not the type of experience or service you would expect from a five star hotel. Unsure if I would stay here again.

Not worth it and defiantly not a 5* hotel

No one met when arrived - it was pouring with rain. The hotel charged 100 euro a day on the day upfront for no service provided - instead of simply authorizing the card (so they used 500 of my money to fund their working capital - no other hotels do that, refund was 3 days after check out). The rooms are tired not 5*, beddings colour was grey not white and didn’t smell fresh, rooms are not vacuumed cleaned at during all our stay, sink is not white but yellow and with dirty grime, shower and toilet doors won’t close due to not balanced on hinges, constant doors from neighbor's were slammed during the night - they need to put the doors on slow option close, staff was not friendly in reception, very impersonal and not a nice place to stay and definitely not a 5* hotel.

Great views of the sea and the port. Stylish design. Plenty of dining options. Beautiful and walkable boardwalk that takes around for miles and miles. Close to a great, historic, walking squares and lanes.

The view was great from the room. Overall I was disappointed and it didn't live up to the hype. The lobby was chaotic. The staff are cold. The room was all form and very little function.

Best service ever - The pool is amazing

The hotel staff were nothing short of exceptional. Olinda and her team around the pool made the stay very special, they were all so nice and welcoming we simply didn't leave the hotel all weekend. The best service we have experienced for some time, I would recommend the hotel to everyone

Amazing Property!!!!

The property is absolutely breathe taking. The check in service was outstanding. I arrived at 9am and surprisingly my room was ready. I did not have to wait until 3pm like most hotels. On the negative side once I was checked in the rest of the staff were not so amazing. Everytime I attempted to board the elevator to go to my room, I was stopped by hotel staff and asked could they help me as if I was not a registered guest. This was vet unprofessional and annoying to me. I had a dinner reservation at the rooftop resturant, they would not allow me to board the elevator, I’m assuming because there is a club in the resturant. They just automatically assumed I was going to the club and told me I had to stand in a line. At that point I became very vocal and asked was I being treated this way because of my skin tone. The host check-in immediate informed them we had reservations and were guest in the hotel. This type of service is not acceptable especially when the rate is $600 per night. I would def stay again, but I would be clear to inform the staff upfront to not harass me, I am a paying guest.

The staff is not very competent or accommodating. They treat you as if you’re trying to take advantage of I don’t know what. The food was mediocre and what wasn’t edible wasn’t able to be returned. Do not get the burger. The only thing saving this place is the location.
