WE LOVED IT HERE! I cannot recommend this place enough, all of the staff was so friendly and made us feel at so at home, which is hard to do but they told us all the best spots, recommended where to spend our days and always waved when we would come and go, everyone was truly amazing. The pool was a great touch especially if coming late in the day. Location is amazing, a 10 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento! Also please know they have so many tours that you can book directly with the hotel!! We didn’t know this and booked something more expensive we couldn’t cancel. The place was clean, staff friendly, location amazing, and the feeling like you are hidden in a garden and staying in a cabin in italy was unmatched. My partner and I would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful, friendly staff that were very helpful to me during my stay. My little bungalow was perfect for my needs as a single traveler. After the first morning, I decided to take my shower in the evening when there is plenty of hot water. Lovely pool and bar area. However, paper towels and a box of tissues would be nice.

Fantastic stay at Villaggio Verde

I would readily refer Villaggio Verde for its proximity to Piazza Tasso (center of Sorrento), but also for the great friendliness of the reception staff who readily give you all the information regarding visiting any tourist place. The catering and bar staff also make you feel very welcome and show genuine interest in each and every customer./

Liked having our cozy little cabin with daily housekeeping service. Friendly, very helpful staff who assisted with everything from calling us taxis to helping with laundry. Enjoyed the beautiful pool and drinks on the patio. Loved the lush orange and lemon trees and the family atmosphere. Please understand that Sorrento is hilly, so we always walked down to the square and took a taxi back up. We would absolutely return to Sorrento and to Villagio Verde!

There's no wifi in the rooms, a centipede strolling around the bed, and if you want to use the pool you need a cap (not advertised and not going all the way to town to buy one for a night), and if you want to lay on a chair you have to pay €5 extras. It's better to pay for a chair at the beach and have a view (other than a wall).

great find

Great little find. Functional, well equipped wooden bungalows within a short walk to the main square in Sorrento (turn right at the complex entrance and just follow the road). The staff made this stay exceptional- nothing was too much trouble. Antoinette arranged transfers from/to the airport and private taxis to amalfi coast tour and Pompeii and Herculaneum at excellent rates. We had a late checkout free of charge. The meals and drinks at the pool snack bar were delicious and very reasonably priced. Bungalow was cleaned every day. There were hens and chicks roaming in the gardens which we thought was quite cute! The cockerel did crow in the morning but decent ear plugs meant it didn’t cause us a problem. No traffic noise whatsoever- a definite bonus. The pool was spotlessly clean. Washing machine and drying facilities were available at a small cost. Would definitely return. The only negative (which is not the complex’s fault) was the mosquitos, but that’s the time of year. So take plenty of repelling sprays/creams etc.

Getaway in Sorrento

These are cabins in a lovely setting in the hills of Sorrento. Peaceful, serene and staff was very friendly, we are only sorry our stay was two days. A bit of a walk (uphill) from town and the train and bus station, but if you don't want to walk, you can always take a taxi. Relaxing pool and bar area. Overall wonderful stay and would highly recommend.

The bungalow was ideal for a family, area to sit outside etc. Lots of lovely orange and lemon trees, swimming pool (which the kids did get to use, loved it), and area next to reception with free wifi. Comfortable log cabin although a bit cramped for space. Clean and in good condition. A little high up in Sorrento - around a 15 minute walk to Tasso Square along a steep road with no real pavements. I was a victim of a pickpocket gang at Naples Station at the start of journey to Sorrento to stay at Villaggio Verde. When we arrived we were in a state of shock, but Antonietta, the manager, took us under her wing and helped us sort everything out. Words cannot describe how grateful my wife and I to her. Villaggio Verde was just the place to recover from our ordeal The cabins are great and in a quiet part of Sorrento which makes them a great base for forays into the surrounding area and the ferry crossing to The Isle of Capri. We found walking to the local supermarkets easy and it was only a 5 minute walk into the town center where there are plenty of places to eat and loads of good quality shops. If you are travelling by train from Naples be extremely careful, since organised gangs of pickpockets pray on unwary tourists. It is a common occurrence and something that needs to be stopped to protect unsuspecting tourists. The only sure way to be absolutely safe is not to go to the station at all! If you do go, make sure all valuables are in a body belt or something similar and definitely not in your pockets, even if they have a zip on them. Do not get into the last carriage of the train and avoid the crush of the crowd getting into a carriage, This is when they have you at your most vulnerable, you can feel it happening but there is nothing you can do to stop it. So please be careful.

Cabin Retreat

The cabins are quite spacious. There were two twin beds in one room and a queen size bed in the other room. There was a kitchen with all the needed utensils. The bathroom had been remodeled and is very nice. They have a swimming pool and breakfast for a small charge. The hotel is not in the center of town. We took the lift from the marina and walked about 20 minutes.

Location a bit difficult to get to, nice settings

We stayed at the cabins for 3 nights. The staff were very friendly and the area pool was nice. The downsides were the walk up the hill from Sorrento main town and the cabin whilst very clean had a few parts broken - window lock on one window and the safe.

Great 7 days

We loved the site. The folks at reception were awesome. Friendly, informative, always ready to help. Example: we could not get the TV to work, I walked up to reception, only 1 person on, she locked up the office and came right down to show us how the remotes worked. They were awesome, when we left big hugs and a true feeling of friendship. Only thing is we were not expecting a 'camp site' environment. Camp site but with very nice cabins. So I was a little put off at first. But after this experience, We will 'camp' more often! Loved this experience! BTW we are a progressive couple in our early 70's.

Very friendly place ideal for family

Really friendly place - we rented a bungalow for 4. Not luxury but provided all we needed. Although hotels.com showed the "room" as a single room with 4 beds, the bungalow was actually 2 rooms - a bedroom and another room with kitchen area and curtained-off area with 2 beds. Bungalow had a small terrace outside the door where we ate. Bathroom was in good condition and clean. Air-con worked well and hotel did not charge us extra for it (website said it would). Breakfast was offered but we did not try it - there is a supermarket a few minutes walk away on the way to/from the town. Pool is not huge but is fine, in clean and pleasant area with view across valley. Poolside snack bar serves good value snacks/lunches. The hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful, remembered who we were and can help book excursions, taxis etc. Only thing to say is that although the hotel is not far from the centre of Sorrento, it is uphill from the centre. But an average person will not have any problems with that.

You're lucky if you make it there alive

The hotel is FAR from town, and is accessible only from a long, winding, (dangerous) uphill road that is both extremely unfriendly to pedestrian traffic (i.e. no sidewalk, not even a shoulder on the road) and a brutal exercise for even those in the best of shape. If you make it to the hotel alive, you will find that the pool closes at 6 p.m., the wifi is only accessible in common areas (i.e. the pool), and the rooms are dark, mildewy, and bereft of any redeeming qualities. The breakfast was the only decent part of the experience.

Imagine A SummCottage in a Woods - But in the City

The 3 of us loved Villagio Verde because it was so different from the other places. Imagine summer camp cottages in a woods - but you are only a 15 minute walk from the train station! From the friendly, smiling check-in lady to the pool guy who gave us drinks and then - even better - took our laundry so we'd have fresh clothes - everything was perfect. Highly recommended. (Note - it's a mild walk uphill so you may want to taxi there, but after that you can walk)

Value for money, no frills accommodation

If you're looking for luxury for your stay in Sorrento, then this not the place for you. But if you want value for money, no frills accommodation within walking distance of the coast then Villagio Verde is spot on. It's basic, but has all you would need - fully equipped kitchen, bathroom - albeit very small - with hairdryer and toiletries, clean pool with sun loungers (although there is a charge) and a small bar - only open until 10pm. The lady on the front desk was a real character and gave a very warm welcome.

We very much enjoyed our stay however were surprised to find out the breakfast was not included in the price even though there were no signs and the person working the breakfast room did not say there was a charge. We were surprised with a 5€ per day per person charge when we checked out. Had we known we would have eaten in town for half that amount and enjoyed much better cappuccino. Otherwise the cottages and grounds were in very nice shape.

Villagio Verde, Sorrento

Fantastic staff based at this hotel. Really helpful, friendly and welcoming! Like being home from home. Room clean and tidy, however, a lot of nats around evening time, as the accommodation is effectively a log cabin which is based by a fruit orchard/ trees. The accommodation is a little dark as its a log cabin and the swimming pool small. But, again the redeeming features of this resort were the great staff members and their hospitality.

Good, but extra charges.

We had a separate cabin that worked well for our family. They charged for the breakfast and it was ok, but just continental watched over by a grumpy woman who kept a close watch over each person. Location was up the hill from the town and a bit of a walk to get there. Have to pay an extra 8 euros a day to use the air conditioner. I felt like they charged extra for things that should have been included.

One week holiday in Sorrento

We stayed at Villagio Verde for a week and, although the room wasn't perfect - there was a bit of a problem with ants - it was more than adequate for our needs. The hotel staff were all very friendly, and readily helped us both with any problems we had with our bungalow and with enquiries we made regarding sightseeing in Sorrento and the surrounding area. A lovely buffet breakfast was available for a very reasonable €5, the (admittedly rather cold) swimming pool was great to relax in during a hot day, and the presence of two hobs in the bungalow enabled us to make some meals ourselves. It was also a good spot for seeing the local wildlife, with a number of lizards frequenting the area, and there was also a very docile dog that wandered around the hotel grounds. All in all, it was a great place to stay, and a good base for exploring in and around Sorrento.

Chalet - not a hotel

Hotel is 15 mins walk downhill to city centre. Room is more like a chalet or a small wooden cabin with a small stove. Room reeks of cooking smell (India curry) which I believe was from the previous tenant. The room facilities like TV etc. does not work. There is no wifi in the rooms. Wifi can only be accessed at the reception area. Should be able to find better accommodation based on the room rates charged. Only plus point is the free parking if you are driving.

Everything is true and even better. The cabin just looks amazing with its nice layout. It's well furbished and very comfortable. It is perfectly located within walking distance of all the best places Sorrento has to offer. And don't miss the trip to Sorrento via Capri with Villagio Verde. The best part is certainly, Antionetta. She was funny, helpful and caring throughout the process from the first email to the very last minute before our departure.
