Good too high to walk

It was a great stay for me&my wife. We had stayed for two nights. Cveta was very friendly and she was a great host. Definitely recommend Villa Ohrid. Hope to be back again.

I was here last September and loved the place. The views from the balcony are amazing. The owners were always very nice and pleasant. They helped whenever i asked. Its a 15 minute walk to Ohrid lake. 15 minutes from St. Johns church. And 5 minutes from the ancient theater. My unit came complete wit dishes, glasses, a stove top, and cooking utensils. I highly recommend this hotel.

The room I had faced Lake Ohrid. It was amazing to wake up and have coffee on the balcony. Except for hearing an occassional yell from a boat, the area is so quiet. You're up on a hill so you overlook the lake and the town. It was a great view. The room was just what you would want. A shower and attached bathroom. Two beds and a balcony. There is also a kitchen down the hall for community use which had a coffee pot, dishes, pots, pans and silverware. I really enjoyed this hotel and the entire area. Go see lake Ohrid before its over run by tourists. This place is a little gem you find once in a while.

Property is a bit up the hill but luckily it’s good walk.

Great apartment with a great view

We stayed in the ground floor apartment and it was perfect for us (couple + 1 year old) with plenty of space and everything we needed. The view was amazing. The host, Cveta, was great: she quickly found another cot when the original one provided was too small for our son, gave us fresh raspberries from the garden during our stay and was generally really friendly. Particularly for the price, this is a great place to stay in Ohrid (as long as you can walk up and down hills!)

Excellent value with amazing lake view from rooms!

The Ohrid lake view from the balcony of these rooms is amazing. I've stayed here several times now and it has always been excellent. Highly recommended for inexpensive stay. Incredible view of Lake Ohrid from this villa!

Beautiful lake view from patio and front room. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The very kind host is generous and communication with her is excellent. Everything you need for a European Old Town experience is here.

This was such an excellent place to stay! Close enough to the old town that I could walk wherever I wanted to go; super comfortable bed; and truly stunning views from the terrace. Everything was clean and comfortable, and for a great price. The hostess is also one of the kindest people and really made this a great trip. Wish I would have stayed longer here!

We stayed at the villa for 3 nights, and fell in love with the city. It’s located in the old town, just 10 min walk from the center square. There’re restaurants nearby and it’s so quiet in the neighborhood. The hostess was so generous and kind, and the place is really spacious and clean. We also had the best view of the lake. Very recommended!

absolutely lovely

Villa Ohrid is the ideal place to stay in this most beautiful of locations in the relatively undiscovered Country of Macedonia(at least by the British).My wife and I had the Panoramic Apartment for a week-and wish we were still there. The view from the apartment and on the balcony is sensational-with the old town and the lake below. The best view we have had anywhere. The Panoramic apartment has its own small kitchen which is a bonus-as the other apartments share a kitchen on the ground floor. Not that we needed to eat in much-with so many superb and good value restaurants throughout the town. Gladiator just along the road is excellent-and only 1 minute to walk there. Cveta the host was really welcoming-even though we arrived 4 hours late at midnight due to plane delays. She even offered to make us something to eat after a long day-which we declined as she has enough to do already-but nothing was too much trouble. . If you are looking for a holiday with a difference-with superb scenery, food and lovely people then head for Ohrid in Macedonia-and book an apartment at Villa Ohrid. It feels like a private bolt hole away from the world. You will not regret it. We will be back-like so many others before. Jeff and Coral

Amazing views over Ohrid

Great stay at the apartment. Friendly owners. Fab view from the balcony. Just be warned if tall bathroom ceiling is low.

Ohrid Gem!

Wonderful stay at Villa Ohrid. The apartment is perfect for a group looking to visit Lake Ohrid, located in the old town and just a short walk down to the lakeside. The apartment is a couple of minutes from the Ancient Theatre of Ohrid and has fantastic views of the lake from the balcony. The apartment is well furnished, with a small kitchen, fridge and wifi and perfect for a few days in Ohrid. And of course, it's amazing value! I would highly recommend Villa Ohrid if you are visiting Lake Ohrid and look forward to staying again soon.

Our July holiday in Ohrid

We (my husband, 2 teenage daughters, myself) stayed in Villa Ohrid, old town of Ohrid for a week. We had a fabulous time - there was a Balkan dance festival and the Ohrid Music Festival on at the time. We went on a boat trip over to St Naum Monastery and springs which were well worth a visit. We cycled around part of the lake (just 10Euro per day), visited the fortress (where the views are amazing) and swam and snorkeled in the lake which was clean and the water very clear. There were a few quiet beaches to get away from the more crowded ones. We have heard that September is good time to go if you want to get away from noise and crowds but with 2 teenagers we felt the buzz and excitement of busier part of the holiday season suited us. The accommodation at Villa Ohrid was excellent with amazing views from the balcony and our host Cveta was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. There is so much history associated with Ohrid which made for a very interesting and unforgettable holiday and definitely a place we will return to.

Perfect location with amazing views!!!!!!

We stayed in the romantic studio at villa Ohrid the room was clean & spacious & the bed was so comfy. Cveta welcomed us & gave us lots of information about the lake & surrounding area - she is just so lovely couldn't do enough for us. My partner Mark has travelled the world & puts villa Ohrid & lake Ohrid in his top 10 destinations in the world. We have a house in Bulgaria & will drive over later in the season to stay here again. One word says it all - AMAZING!! Local restaurant called Gladiator was welcoming & food was lovely & reasonably priced. The restaurant dog called Leo was so cute! Even though it rained Sunday most of the day it's still didn't spoil the magnificent views. Lake Ohrid is a Jewel not to be missed.

nice apartment with a terrace and lake view

this one bedroom apartment can easily accomodate 4 people since there are two comfortable sofa beds in the living room. there is even a small kitchen and a nice size bathroom with a great big shower. hosts are really nice and friendly.

Superb in every way!

Fantastic location with views of the lake and the town. Despite being quite high up (5 minute walk to the fort, a little more to Kaneo monastery) it is still just a short walk down to the main area and the lake itself. Very friendly and helpful when you are there, want you to feel as home as much as possible, which we certainly did.

Little haven with stellar views

Emilija and her husbands have a special place here. Our room (5-bed apartment) was light, airy and clean, recently renovated, with a private terrace to enjoy the great lake views. Emilija and her husband were fantastic hosts, offering to take us on a tour down to the floating village and to Sveti Naum as we headed on into Albania. We only stayed 2 nights but would happily have stayed longer - and would certainly to Villa Ohrid!

Self catering bliss...

Arranged airport pick up ... met by Emilija and her husband Kliment to transport both us and a group of young people who also arrived at the same time. Lovely friendly people, very helpful and both speaking good English. The room (penthouse) is comfy and very clean with ensuite bathroom and kitchen. Kitchen has hotplate but a toaster would be useful as the local bread is lovely but goes hard quite quickly. There is an excellent restaurant (Gladiator) 60 metres up the road, reasonably priced and friendly helpful staff . (Closes for the winter 1st October to beginning of April) we ate there most nights as it was a level walk! As Villa Ohrid is above the Old Town with wonderful views of the Lake and the mountains, there is a steepish hill back up from the Harbour area. However there are so many paths and steps and little roads that you can wend your way back up a different way each time so it is interesting and you don't notice the climb! And it's downhill to the Old Town and the new town!

Old town stay in Ohrid

Nice to stay in old town, with a great view over the town and lake. Handy for walking all along the steep lanes.

Great hospitality

Near certain old city sites but not near the city center with all the restaurants, night life, and stores. The apartment/villa is in a residential area which has a great view of the lake from above a hill, but is 30 minutes walking from the heart of the city. The heart of the city is near certain sites, but not near the tourist sites. The WiFi was quick and the lady was very hospitable. Great deal for the price but location was quite isolated and dark at night because it is near other houses and not city life or stores.

Wonderful Ohrid

Ohrid is gorgeous- a gem. We had two wonderful weeks exploring the town and walking in the woods. Fantastic views round every corner and a lake alive with fish, snakes and wildfowl. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming-we can't wait to return.

Villa Ohrid review

Villa Ohrid is a lovely place and was a delightful stay. It is perched up on the hill in easy walking distance to everything and the hosts are lovely and sweet. The room "downstairs " is less desirable from a view perspective so ask for a "street level" room if you can get it.

not only within the facilities but went out of their way to help me solve a problem I had with customs and my visa credit card. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I would definitely recommend Villa Ohrid to my friends or anybody asking to stay in a nice apartment in beautiful Ohrid. Way to go Cveta and Emily. Keep up your good disposition and friendliness!

Fab place to stay

Spent 3 nights in April in the downstairs room. Great location in the Old Town with stunning views of the Lake from the balcony. Spacious and comfortable with the added benefit of a shared kitchen. Sufficiently warm even when we had unexpected snow! A little tricky to find, but its a short walk from the upper gate on the road which circles the top of the amphitheatre, number 11. The owner lives below, so knock there if no-one is about when you arrive. Accessible by car and with nearby parking. The local corner shop is well stocked with food and essentials. Just a 10 minute walk down into the town centre and lakeside.

Great Stay

Villa Ohrid is located in the old part of the city, great rooms, great staff, great location. Very clean. fully stocked kitchen if you need to cook, free tea/coffee. Stayed there at end of tourist season/off season so rooms were very cheap for location/quality of hotel. Would definetly stay again if I find myself in ohrid.

Great view, but

Booking confirmation said Visa credit card was accepted, yet hotel staff said no. Online photos are not exactly clear as to which room online is which room for rent; a bit of false advertising. Parking available, but not stated that it is down the street where it is not secure at hotel. Would be nice to have maps and tourist info available in several languages. View from family room and apartment (as they called it, but not really an apartment) are great of town and lake. Nice to have coffee and tea making facilities. Close walk to St. Sophya church and other sights, as well as restaurants.

A very nice family run establishment.

A very nice family run establishment in the old part of town. Within walking distance of the theatre, Samuel's fortress, St. Sophia, and the waterfront. This hotel is really more like a guesthouse but we found it perfect for our family of four.

Why pay more, when you've got a great view.

Good value for money. Beautiful views overlooking the lake. Slept well in comfortable beds, good hot shower. Not so good for little ones due to steps and raised doorways, but we got by. The owners mum was on site a lot of the time, and she became our mum for a few days looking after us! It is uphill from the lake, but no problem at all if you're moderately fit. A number of sites to visit close by.

great hostel.

this is an excellent hostel with breathtaking views of the lake. the lady that runs it is very nice and helpful. there is no reception so you need to knock on the door below the hostel. this hostel a bit tricky to find but so worth it..taxi is cheap from bus station if ya get lost.

Mükemmel Manzara

Burası Ohrid Gölünü ve Ohrid şehrini görebileceğiniz en iyi manzaraya sahip ev. Oda gayet yeterli büyüklükte. Ortak mutfak var. Sabah erken saatlerde yemek yaparsanız sorun olmuyor ama 9dan sonra diğer insanlar ile birlikte mutfağı kullanmak sıraya sebep oluyor. Evde tek eleştirebileceğim nokta yatak rahat değildi. Ev sahibi hanım tüm ihtiyacımızı sorunsuzca karşıladı. Gezilecek yerleri tek tek anlattı çok iyi bir insan.

Location is good

Nice view over the old town and harbour

OK flat to stay in. How much can you expect for that price? We had the flat in the attic. Nice view from the balcony. Pitched roof, so be aware! Maybe difficult if you are taller than 180 cm. The bed could have been better, but it all comes back to the fact that it’s cheap.

Perfect location in Ohrid, beautiful view!

A perfect place to spend some days in Ohrid! The view from the balcony is worth the stay itself! The hosts are very helpful and where always there if you needed something. The location is perfect, right next to the amphitheater. 10 min to walk down to the city center. Many nice restaurants just 4-5 min away. Also close to walk down to the church on the cliff and the beaches there. The apartment is clean and have everything you need. Perfect stay!

Kedeligt og grimt værelse for langt fra kystpromen

Vi havde bestilt et værelse til to voksne og et barn. Da vi så værelset besluttede vi os for ikke at bruge det, men at finde et andet sted at overnatte. Værelset var meget kedeligt og spartansk. Der var en lille altan, hvor man netop kunne se vandet. Vi tog ned til kystpromenaden og fandt med det samme et værelse, med smuk udsigt over byen og bugten. Det kostede næsten ikke mere en værelset, vi havde set på.

That view!

Great view makes it all worthwhile! Had the top floor apartment all by myself. The roof is somewhat low at certain points so if you are tall be prepared to crouch a lot :) Short way from old town and the fortress. Will recommend!
