Velas is a neat little condo, conveniently located close to downtown and right on the beach. The manager, Alba is friendly and helpful. She welcomed us to use the bikes and asked if we needed help with them in any way. We opted to not have housekeeping service during our stay, and Alba assured that we always had any house keeping conveniences such as fresh towels, soap, and toilet paper. She is an excellent host and we will stay there again.

Easy access to fishing and diving and a really pleasant town

I liked that the property was walking distance to the beach. However, there was major construction of a new building right next door to our unit - loud construction daily except Sunday.

Although our stay was short it was a terrific one. We will definitely be back. Staff was super friendly and property is clean and well maintained. Allma was amazing to work with on arrangements. Lots of great little restaurants on the street and easily walkable to the downtown for any last minute items you need for the trip.

Lovely stay

We loved the Velas Condos. We arrived very late and our hostess stayed to help us check in and get settled. The room and common spaces were very clean, and the location is great in the cute, developing area of Puerto Morelos. We only spent one night, but were interested in exploring more of the area. Our only complaint was that just the bedrooms are air conditioned, so the kitchen and family area were pretty hot. We slept well though!

The property itself was awesome!! Staff went above and beyond. The area is full of noisy construction from about 8a-6p and beach had trash in it. But the hotel itself is a real gem!

The condo is well located 1 minute from the beach and walkable to many restaurants and the grocery store. We parked our car and did not use it for a full week. The condo supplied 20 L of drinkable water. It also has beach chairs, umbrella and coolers. All was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately the construction next door from 8 am to 6 pm makes it impossible to sit on the balcony or enjoy the pool. Also, the shower head and the faucet in the bathroom needs to be changed. It doesn’t flow properly. An extra mirror in the bedroom would make getting ready in the morning or evening faster. Thanks to Alba the manager who was always available via What’s App.

Great service from the front desk staff. They were very accomodating and check in was fast. Only downside is the construction next door although it didn’t bother us much. Would recommemd these condos right on the beach and near town.

This property does not have a pool like advertised its a joke and theres no receptionist, no cleaning or able to replace dirty towels either. The place was hot and smelled like sewer. The room was dirty the kichen was dirty and bathrooms were so filthy.I left there disgusted and checked in elsewere more comfortable and very clean on the second day also due to a notice was poted on the door that said this place was suspended by the Civil Protection of Puerto Morelos on 7/24/2023. With so many nice places to chose from please do not go here you will regret it.

My stay was amazing, everything was excellent. Plus, the young lady that checked me in was absolutely accommodating, sweet, helpful and super friendly. I will definitely stay her again when in town.

Overall, a great experience

Our family of 5 had a great time at the Velas Condos. Front desk girls were excellent and super good to work with. They answered our questions before we reached the place and took care of our requests during our stay. Only 'concern' I would raise is that not all rooms had air conditioners and traveling in the hottest time of the year did not help. The breeze from the ocean helped, but not during the hot and humid days.

Location is good next to beach. It's convenient to have a kitchen. We are very happy to stay 4 nights in this place. The office ladies, Alva and Sandra are really nice, and helpful. Big thanks to them.

Loved the easy beach access and friendly, helpful staff. Someone came to clean our unit and change the sheets during the week which was nice. Bathrooms and living area are rather small. Kitchen was adequate.

The front desk staff (Sandra) was very helpful with securing excursions and general questions. I like the location. Close enought to the town square to walk but still far enough away for a relaxing stay with little noise.

The location is perfect. The condo had everything we needed and we loved the beach umbrella, chairs and cooler they provided us! The staff is very helpful and can help you book snorkeling or a cenote visit. We really enjoyed our stay.

Property was walking distance to many restaurants and town centre. It was beach front with chairs available. Bicycles to use. While it had a pool it was small and not well kept (debris not cleaned despite staff onsite). Housekeeping was not included in your stay (extra charge) and given cannot flush sanitary products should have been included as this was a hotel concept. Staff were incredibly friendly. Felt safe entire visit.

Love the location and ladies at the front desk. Excellent condo and cleanliness. I would recommend thinking about offering taxi service from the airport or assisting with the arrangements. Top notch place and can’t wait to go back for our third time.

My wife and I had a great time, all the people on staff are very helpful and friendly. Everything in the apartment was clean and in good working condition. The area by the pool is well set up with chairs and a kitchenette. Great location, few steps to the beach, if you like walking or riding a bike this is the town for you.

The property was located in a really great, quiet area. It was easy to walk downtown to tons of shops and restaurants. The front desk has 2 AMAZING women that will help with EVERYTHING! The arranged several outings for us and were completely on top of communication and making sure we felt safe and got to where we needed to go. HIGHLY recommend!!

Comfortable and Convenient

This is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the location is great--right on the beach and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. There are lots of taxis in town if you want to venture farther afield. The price is very reasonable for a comfortable (not luxurious, but comfortable) apartment. We would stay here again.

Cozy and Awesome place

The place was well taken care of and it has all the amenities that are needed for one person to buy groceries or your preferred food's to keep and eat. all the place was great and close to the beach.

The 2 receptionists Alba and Sandra are the best.

We really enjoyed our time at Velas Condos. The condo is a 1-minute walk away from a beautiful beach, friendly and responsive management, plus there's an adjacent Paradise Beach Club (you get free drinks on the first day). If you're loking to prepare your own lunch/dinner, the kitchen does the job. The pool is clean and we enjoyed to go swimming at Riviera Maya and plunging into our pool. Sandra, the manager, helped us book an amazing and comparatively inexpensive snorkeling tour, which started off right at our bech. The small market square and restaurants are within 5-7 minute walking distance. Don't park at the condo's curbside as we drove over glass and had a flat tire. Sandra and a friendly cab driver helped change the tire (as the nuts were totally rosted). By the way -- this has little to do with Velas Condos -- I would not rent a car again. Our experience with Europcar was not good at all, and we ended up booking bus trips to multiple sights (Maya and Cenotes), and not using our crappy rental car. Condos Velas is really a great location in Puerto Morelos, and we would come again.

Our flight was delayed so late to arrive at Velas but were given detailed instructions how to get the keys and find the room. The room was clean and kitchen supplies were plentiful. Clear path to the beach which was beautiful despite the sargrassum.

We loved our stay at Velas Condos. We had the City View apartment. We loved the layout of the apartment and it included everything we needed. It has beach access, a pool, and is still a nice walk into town. The bed was super comfortable and the apartment was very quiet (with the exception of a small pump noise going every few seconds, which we got use to). The staff were very friendly and super helpful! We will definitely stay here again.

Great location on the beach - 7 min walk down the block to big cluster of restaurants. Very clean, welcoming, and comfortable property. Amy at front desk was great - hooked us up with great snorkeling, loaned us bikes to go to grocery store, arranged our transportation. I felt this place was a great value and would go back for sure.

We really enjoyed our stay at Condos Vela's. The staff was friendly and Ami at the front desk was especially helpful, helping us to upgrade our room and get transportation. The property is well maintained, right on the beach and was very comfortable, especially the bed. We will be back in about six months.

Velas condos are located very close to the main area in puerto morelos. This isn’t the typical hotel, so don’t expect to see staff much, this isn’t saying they’re not there to help. I was in communication when needed with a staff member. Ocean Views are amazing. And the place is laid back and really good vibes overall.

Velas for a Relaxing Vacation

The employees were very helpful and friendly especially the receptionist. Only suggestion about the premises is to make sure there are coffee filters and dish clothes. Also on the furniture in the lobby the webbing is falling apart to a great degree so looks unappealing. The proximity to the beach (out the back door) and local restaurants just up the street makes this a perfect location for a relaxing vacation.

Great condo

Loved the place. Cute condo. Nice pool. Close to beach. Within walking distance of everything. Only problem was that safe was broken. We were told someone was coming to fix it on Monday. No one ever came. Also one night my husband locked himself out of the condo while sweeping sand up from our floor (we did not use housekeeping services). There was no condo staff on the premises at that time. Only a security guard. He did not have keys to get in. He called someone who managed to work the lock and we paid him $20 USD.

Perfect location for beach lovers. Clean facilities and comfortable beds.

The condo was small but had everything we needed. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a small living room and a great view of the ocean. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. The pool was small for swimming but the air conditioning worked great for cooling off. Would stay there again.

The pros: Great location, sufficient space, kitchen appliances and utensils, terrace large enough to sit and dine. The cons: No service. I don't think that anybody ever entered the apartment during the 9 days we stayed there. We had to clean, throw the trash, buy toilet paper and trash bags ourselves. No TV. We were told we should have Netflix and YouTube, but we never did. Wifi was good, though.

Location is great! Right on the beach. I was disappointed in the condition and service. The safe didn’t work. Lights flickered and leaked water. The sliding glass door locks you out if you close it all the way. The TV had one channel (although there was Netflix and YouTube). They ran out of toilet paper. I’m sad to leave this review but definitely won’t stay there again.

Great Experience

The receptionist was outstanding and very resourceful. The room had a great view of the ocean and it was walking distance.

We rebooked for another two nights after being there there nights because it was such nice place.

It was wonderful being beside the beach .

The condo was very convenient for us. They have beach access, and the town plaza is within walking distance. We enjoyed being able to cook our own food but would have appreciated a few cooking essentials like salt and oil. The air conditioning worked well, and the bed was comfortable.

Has been better in the past ...

I have stayed in this condo in the past and it had become less in many ways. Besides being moved to 3 different units based on internet service down, TV sporadic service, no hot water in the last unit I am most disappointed with the property management. I think the person is not friendly and acts as though any question is a nuisance. In the past basic cleaning was supplied. Not this time. No clean towels offered, no replacement of soap, no trash bags. The unit is in a great location and the apartments are nice but just need to be managed better.

Vela condos are great, a couple small issues , like kitchens need more utensils and containers and site says on site laundry services but there aren’t any. Other then that it’s very nice , woman who works the front desk is very kind and answers any question you have as best she can.

This condo building was right on the beach when you go out the back door. Lots of restaurants within a couple of blocks. Four blocks from the main square in “Beach” Puerto Morelos. Laundry three or four blocks away that did 25 pounds of clothes in one day for $7.00. Betta was always around from 9-5 at the front desk, and speaks English well. She was very helpful in answering all our questions. Two air conditioners in the unit worked great, although it wasn’t very hot outside in mid-March.

My wife and I stayed at Velas Condos for the last week of November of 2019 and it was awesome. The rooms were clean, the staff were very efficient and friendly and the two pools were nice when you didn't feel like going down to the beach or relaxing by in the evening. Everything you need is a 5-10 minute walk away; which we did at night and still felt safe. But what really turned the rating from good to excellent on this property was Betza. Betza is the lady who works at the front desk; she is absolutely amazing. Friendly, accommodating and always had a smile on her face. She helped us in so many ways; where to eat, where to site see, and was happy to sit with us and talk about Mexico. Thank you so much Betza for making our stay so memorable!!!

This is great condo. It does not have an elevator so be prepared to walk steps.. We enjoyed overlooking the street. Service is excellent. It is next to Paradise Beach Club.

Loved the proximity to town. Just small touches would make a big improvement - off the top of my head: filters on the tap in the kitchen so that the water doesn’t splash everywhere. A full length mirror would be great. A roll of paper towels in the kitchen would have been appreciated too. The place is very clean. However I did notice some old stains on the bedding and pillow cases - could be bleached. Bed was comfortable though. Betza is lovely and does everything she can to make sure you are comfortable.

The location of this property really couldn’t be better: on the beach, easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants, and we really enjoyed happy hour at the beach bar a few meters away. We were supplied with a large bottle of water which was appreciated. Also, Betza from the front desk was always helpful and so positive. A couple of other things: we would have liked a safe that wasn’t broken as well as a working microwave. Our coffee pot only kept the coffee warm for a few minutes so the microwave would have been helpful. We brought these things to Betza’s attention. To her credit, she tried her best. We did get a new microwave a day and a half before we left. The kitchen supplies are minimal. A few more dishes and cutlery would have been helpful so we weren’t constantly washing dishes. I always travel with some herbs and spices and I sure was glad this time as there was only a little sugar and salt in the kitchen. These are all minor things in the big picture. We enjoyed our stay overall. We would go back again, mainly for the location and as I said, Betza was great (as well as the young ladies who do the cleaning).
