Food was good
I reached the hotel only to find it was in an alley with dogs roaming and laying all over the front if hotel. The hotel appeared old and in need of maintenance from the outside. I did not stay for the night. I left and they did not refund me.
You can hear dog and buffalo noises outside the room. Parking is also paid and at a govt lot Other than that it’s a good property no complains. Thank you for your service
Great hotel but let down by restaurant
Front of house staff are excellent, the hotel has lots of positives and we enjoyed our stay very much. The reason for the low score is the restaurant of the hotel. Paid the bill on the credit card, the bill is in Indian rupees yet it appears that the staff selected U.K. pounds which means I get a mych lower enchange rate!!! This is my question to answer and select on the credit card machine not!!! Not the staff. Very annoying and such a let down by this fantastic hotel.
This was my friend’s & my (long-awaited) first trip to India, & Hotel Udaigarh was a perfect place to stay in this iconic Indian city, with many featured sights within walking distance - I found the hotel online & it was beautiful & perfectly situated in a great location, I don’t think we could have been happier. The staff were all so friendly & very helpful - We were given a complimentary upgrade of a bigger room with lake views on our second night. The views from the terrace levels with pool & restaurant were magical -
Rooftop bar was pretty Cool. No other amenities and the bathroom was locker room style
Pleasant hotel with a nice pool!
Overall a nice hotel in a good and quiet location. Comfortable bed and authentic design. Pool on the rooftop is a nice plus. Also the restaurant has excellent food at good prices and amazing view to boot. A place to be recommended! Also just steps away from a very good boating spot for lake Pichola....
Very good, and super value
Fantastic location and friendly staff. The terrace pool and seating was what we went for, and we were not disappointed. We would have loved a little more flexibility in terms of hot water availability and a better breakfast.
No Water in the Bathroom = No Refund!
So we stay here every year but this year the water was not working in the room including the sink, toilet and the shower. We asked for it to be fixed and they fixed the toilet and left, then asked for the sink to be fixed and then the toilet stopped working. It was a disaster and we asked for a discount but they said sorry! So for a hotel with a great view, please fix the bathrooms and the water situation!
Loved it!
Perfect location for city palace, restaurants and shops. Rooms were spacious and clean. Sometimes it could be noisy hearing other rooms quite often. The rooftop pool and dining area is fabulous and having a pool is rare in Udaipur. Staff were lovely, accommodating especially the restaurant staff. Food was very tasty at both breakfast and dinner and excellent value for money. Amazing views from the rooftop at sunset!
Perfectly compliments the beauty of Udaipur
Pros Stunning building, nice pool area, nice rooftop restaurant, cold beer, reasonable prices and wonderful views of city and lake. Beautiful rooms with giant open balconies. Location, perfect. Staff pleasant. Cons Minor issues with hot water and leaking sink. Nearly missed taxi to airport because reception never informed us they are not 24 hours so had to organise alternative. Overall, 9/10 highly recommend.
Value for money
Good clean place with nice views to the lake. Approach and general area not so good. Staff was cooperative and helpful. overall a good choice in Udaipur.
Disappointing
First of all, in the name of a "Heritage" hotel, this is just an old building in a noisy neighbourhood. We had to let our ride go, and drag our bags upto the hotel gates, as it is a bit away from the main street, and no car can enter that alley. Our room - a Super Deluxe AC Room (Royal Heritage), had doors/windows that would let in all kinds of noise from outside! The restroom smelled. There was a family of 10-15 in the same floor as ours, and they were extremely noisy; and inspite of asking the Hotel manager repeatedly, they didn't do anything about it! The only good thing about this hotel was the rooftop pool that gives you a nice view of Lake Pichola.
overpriced not much amenities as per the prices would never go back there. strongly not recommended. only thing good was staff.
Great hotel. We were lucky enough that when we arrived early they had a room available so we could check in and relax. We had the royal heritage room. Which was perfect , ad people have already said they are no windows, instead stained glass patches offering cool light. The pool upstairs was perfect for relaxing and taking in some sun , but even better for watching the sunset with a drink . Yes hot water is restricted to certain hours of the day (morning and evening ) but when its on it provides great showers. The location is perfect for easy walking to everything. Although as is always in india , great location can be noisy with traffic etc. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend.
Wonderful rooftop views
The rooftop pool, sitting area and restaurant were a highlight of our stay here. Dinner at the restaurant was very enjoyable, and the breakfast pancakes too. All the staff were very helpful and attentive. Access to the hotel is off the steep shop-lined streets, down a well-lit narrow passageway. It's one minute downhill to the lake and boat trips. The only negative would be that the construction of the building means most of the rooms are noisy.
This was a lovely hotel with a rooftop restaurant overlooking the water palace. Very central to all attractions and shopping. The puppet show 5 minutes walk. The building is 150 yrs old and very nice inside but no lift staff carry luggage to your room
A beautiful property with breathtaking views
Hotel Udaigarh is a beautiful property in Udaipur. Located on the edge of famous Lake Pichola, it gives you breathtaking views of the Lake, Jagmandir, The Taj Lake Palace Hotel, Oberoi Udaivilas Hotel and the Aravali ranges from the rooftop restaurant. There is a clean and well-maintained swimming pool on the top floor where you can have fun with your family in the summer months. The rooftop restaurant provides you complimentary breakfast (you get to choose breakfast at the time of booking) of Bread-Omelette, Paranthas/Yoghurt, Fruit Salad and Hot tea/coffee. Besides, it also serves Chinese, Italian, Continental and North Indian cuisine to its guests. Free Wi-Fi, On demand Bottled Water, Running hot water during the winter (3 hours each in the morning and evening), Daily Newspaper, Current Magazines and a few Novels are all available at the property. Pradeep and Nikhil Bhai at the reception desk are very helpful and happily guide you towards the city attractions. They will draw up itineraries for your sightseeing and also book taxis for you both within Udaipur or Mount Abu. The best part, City Palace Museum, Boat Ride to the Jag Mandir Palace, Udaipur’s famous Rajasthani Folk dance at the Bagore ki Haveli and Jagdish Temple are all within comfortable walking distance from the property. The Hathi Pole local market (Handicrafts/Textiles/Paintings/Statues) is a Kilometre from the Hotel.
A great choice
Amazing city centre hotel in an historic building with an unsurpassed sunset view from the rooftop restaurant and pool.
Lovely view, good food and nice pool. Very good value for money.
Great hotel in heart of udaipur city
Staff is friendly, helpful and hotel is neat and clean. As the hotel is in old city area and the hotel itself is an old bungalow with inner courtyard, it doesn't have a lawn or garden and one should not expect either. Overall a great experience and I will stay here again on my next visit.
Nice hotel for a great price
The hotel is in the old city and has great views of the lake from the restaurant and pool. We stayed in the deluxe rooms which are large, comfortable and clean. There are no lifts but the hotel staff carry your luggage for you. The roof top restaurant has a limited menu but the food is great and well priced. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is near the City Palace and close to the lake. Plenty of market shops around. I'd stay there again.
Great little place in charmingly location
This is a good hotel which is very characterful and charming. Wonderful location with to die for views of the lake, good food and great pool, plus reasonably priced. We loved it...thank you all so much.
Very convenient location walkable to City Palace
This hotel is in a very small ally which makes it difficult to approach by car, but is at a convenient location for walking to many of Udaipur's important sites such as the City Palace and Hanuman Ghatt. The breakfast is unimpressive.
Chilled stay
Lovely hotel tucked down a side street in the middle of udaipur touristy area so nice and quiet also. Rooftop pool is a saviour in the rajasthan heat. Food good, staff excellent. Perfect chilled stay
Excellent Hotel: A Wonderful Experience
Excellent stay and great food, something for every taste, whether Indian or otherwise. The hotel staff is very polite and helpful, and very responsive to your every need.
@Nothin Exceptional About The Heritage Room !!!
The Only Good Part Is The View From The Roof Top ~ For Heritage Room charges are Rs 2550/- With No added Facility...@ continuous request had to be made for room services & Cleanliness !
Travelers beware!
the management more values domestic guests than international travelers. I was rudely compelled to leave the rooftop terrace to accommodate a large dinner party. They also lost my laundry after I complained. Coincidence?
Location is good
Room condition is Gud . Wash room is very nice and cleaned. Internet facility is bad , network issue on top floors. Quality of food is just not so good. location is very good .
love to stay here again
Great location, just in the heart of the city. Three minutes walking distance to city palace, baghore ki haveli, jagdish temple, and all ghat of Lake pichola in either direction.the staff was very friendly or the correct word should be like a family. They gave us early Check in without a second though and did not ask the time of our check out.they were eager to help us in our planning of the day.helped us in our tour and even arranged our departure. The room was clean but devoid of ventilation so the room smell last a bit longer. NOTE: The main switch of the room was outside,so every time we let our mobile or camera on the charger, someone put the power off from outside... hope the management looks into it, rest very much satisfied with the room and the service
Not a great choice
It does not appeal as much as it look in the photos. The location is a major drawback as it is not possible to reach the hotel by car. The hotel surroundings are so congested and unclean. However the hotel rooms are little spacious and clean. The interiors give a look of ancient village which may be interesting to foreigners but it is a definite disappointment for Indians. The hotel staff are helpful and courteous. Roof top swimming pool and Roof top dining is the only good feature here with beautiful scenery of the lake & palace view. Overall it is an average place and not a great choice.
the owner promises the world but cant deliver
The location of the hotel was a huge disappointment. The lake is visible from the rooftop, but all that you can see from your room window are the bylanes of Udaipur. Wifi and the complimentary breakfast that the website of the hotel promises, dont exist. One has to wait in the lobby was wifi ! If you are sitting by the pool side at 11 pm, the staff wont ask you to go to your rooms, the owner will just switch off the lights forcing you to recede to your rooms, from where nothing is visible. The food was decent. The dal -Baati that was served to us was very good.
nice hotel and view from roof top is awesome
nice experience and hotel room is awesome, food is good in restaurent and location is suitable to explore various places.
Nice family hotel within budget
Very nice family hotel. All the tourist attractions are within walking distance. The best parts are: Excellent view from the roof top Candle light dinner Food to relish and satisfy taste buds Pool to enjoy with family
Very good Hotel near the Pichola Lake
The Hotel is centrally located. It is very near to the market ,the City Palace and the Pichola Lake. There is a roof top poolside restaurant with panoromic views of the Lake,Monsoon Palace,Jag Nivas. The major tourist attractions of Udaipur are located within 3-4 KM radius of the hotel. The hotel is a old Haveli converted into a Heritage hotel.Overall the hotel is good for a stay 0f 3-4 days.
A lovely oasis with wonderful lake views
The staff were tremendously helpful and the service good all round. I loved sitting on the roof area with its clear view over lake Pichola and the old city. It make a great base for exploring the beautiful city of Udaipur.
Budget hotel in an excellent location
Pros: Really awesome location. Walkable to City Palace, Jagdish temple, Bagore ki haveli etc. Roof top restaurant has really awesome view of Lake Pichola. Restaurant has decent food too. If you have an average spice tolerance level, ask for their lowest spice level. Decent clean rooms. Can't complain much as this is a budget hotel. Cons: A dark narrow alley leads to the hotel where your taxi will not be able to go The dark narrow alley that leads to the hotel is really dirty and filled with stray dogs None of the rooms have any view
fair
The hotel was ok- fair for what it costs. The rooms had some love in the design and the staff were friendly/ a little lost in a typically 3 star indian hotel way. The restaurant was meh…. A friend of mine came to visit and when I booked directly through the hotel they charged half of what it cost online. ( they really don't want to use visa cards). Overall it was ok.
Wonderful Hotel.
IT IS MORE THAN A FIVE STAR HOTEL. IT IS A TRADITIONAL HOTEL WITH A ROOF TOP RESTAURANT WITH LAKE PICHOLA VIEW. STAFF ARE VERY COOPERATIVE, SPECIALLY AVINASH. FOOD WAS TASTY. I LIKED IT HERITAGE CULTURE.
Great Hotel
Lovely central hotel with a good view of the lake. Food was very good and the staff were helpful. The room was clean and spacious.
V. Good.
The Finest thing about the Hotel is its Terrace View over the Lake Pichola. Awesome, absolutely Awesome View of the Lake. And Nonetheless, The Manager of the Hotel. Very Very Friendly in all aspects.....
Arrived here late at night and upon getting close to the hotel we find out we have to haul our luggage up this narrow lane. We called for help but they were taking so long and the driver was getting impatient. Finally the front guy went outside to help carry the rest of the bags. Once the bags were in we had to wait a good 15 minutes for some other guy to come and check us in. We got a room on the first floor and the basin in the bathroom would leak when you turned it on. The room was spacious and the cracks in the windows were covered with tape. When you asked for someone to come fix it, it took a while and the staff was staying below us. So you heard the chatter from them and the screaming throughout the night. It was annyoying and unpleasant. I happened to peer down the floor below where the staff was staying and I was disgusted. I couldn't wait to get out of this place. After an unpleasant night sleep we went up for breakfast and the only saving grace for this forsaken place is the view at the top of the hotel. Breakfast took a while and we had to rush through it since checkout was at 10am or pay for another days stay. Since we were not leaving till later in the evening we had our luggage stored and with the exception of one person not everyone was helpful. You get wifi but only in the lobby of the first floor. Recommend another place over this.
Centrally located
The location was ideal. The breakfast was good. Appreciated the fresh fruit. The hallways echoed alot from outside noise. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner? Staff did not seem to knowledgeable about where to go for shopping, eating etc. Overall we could have stayed there longer if needed.
Amazing views from the roof terrace!
Fantastic value for money! Clean, nicely presented rooms, great views from the roof top terrace.
Can get much better for the prices they charge
Location: awefull ( reminds you of living in a chandni chowk area) Hotel ambeince: from inside its okay, they have a roof top restaurant and if its hot/sunny day they dont even have a pedastal fans. Food: Its okay not mouth relishing Rooms: although the rooms are spacious , neat and clean, they dont have T.V in any of the rooms so if travelling with the kids think twice. the only plus of this hotel is that they have a very good view of the lake pichola from there terrace but then we are not going there just for that. given a chance i wont stay there again not even a complimentary stay.
somebody need to introduce while check in the guest that am the manager of this hotel, secondly their is somehow communication lack between agents and hotels......Rest overall memorable stay and thanks a ton to all the staff especially steward kamar pal, kishore and housekeeper Avinash........they are so friendly and "YES" attitude appearing in their mind which is so important as a hotelier........ Thanks
On recommande
