DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Conned with sim, lift broken, toilets broken, no sound proofing, sauna broken, door card does not work, always have walk down 7 floors to reactivate everytime. Worst hotel experiance of my life. 1 star at best.
This is not a 4 star hotel. Lift didn’t work, WiFi down majority of the time, phone in room did not work, cleaning service was very bad and dusty air con system. I would not recommend.
The stuff we’re really nice, the hotel is from a close distance to everything, 2 minutes walk to the metro and 5 to taksim street. The rooms could’ve been slightly cleaner, we blocked the door with a towel to stop the smell of cigarets coming from the next room. But it’s okay if you’re there just to sleep not spending a lot of time at the hotel.
Perfect
It was very close to everything we needed, cleaning on top, but the only problem for me was the breakfast, it was same every day 6 day in row. Overall it was prefect.
Breakfast qualitty, sleep qualitty, cleaness and staff attention very good
Swimming pool was not working.breakfast was not good too
Great time great service
So the service here was really nice. Had a nice time with the room service. The staff was super friendly and really helpful other than the guy on the room service phone line. But that was fine because I could book through the reception no problem.
It is an old hotel . Every thing was not bad . Not so good but not bad . Employees on reception was very nice and helpful.
all good.
As I am not a demanding person all things went well, no complaint
Not clean. I have stayed in the past and the room was more clean
Only nice thing is the lobby decor!
Upon entry, the lobby had a modern cool decor. However, it did not uplive my expectations in the guest room. The room did not smell fresh. It had a very run down tired look. The bathroom was awful - old with mold in the corners. Did not feel clean. Breakfast was poor and very limited. Bathroom towels were taken and not replaced by room service. Air con heater mode smelt of damp. As a positive the bed was comfortable. As a conclusion it did not feel hygienic.. and not what i paid for!
Great location, stylish hotel
Great location, stylish hotel, fairly good breakfast, what else should you require
Disappointments overweight positives
Unfortunately, the disappointments experienced during the stay over-weighed the excitement expected. The check-in was delayed due to malfunction of electronic key system. The staff was not courteous enough to compensate the frustration. The room was not clean. The spa included was not easily available and, the most frustrating: the room windows faced the private club that had roof party (on Thursday night) and the loudest music until 3 am.
The hotel is not exactly a 4 stars hotel, it's more as a 3 stars hotel. I just recommend it because it's cheap price.
Worth with this among of money
This hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from Sishane metro station. And it's surrounded by many restaurants, cafes, clubs and bar. I would like suggest to choose the room that faces backyard during weekend. Due to, you can hear a loud noise from Soho House in front yard. Luckily, I've got a room in backyard. Staff are friendly, helpful and can give you many recommendations about the town hot spots. I'm satisfied with this time staying
The worst hotel in taksim
It was bad time to stay with this hotel. The room has bad smell and no water in toilet for have day I will not stay in this hotel never ever again.
good location and price but not the best service
For the price the hotel is in perfect condition but the service is very slow and the room is not the cleanest
The toilet was so dirty and old
Great location and breakfast- bad wifi
We spent a week there on our honeymoon trip. The location was fantastic. The breakfast was so good that breakfast was the favorite part of my day. I would wake up and be so excited for the bread, spreads, cheese and olives! I would give them 5 stars if it wasn't for the horrible internet connection. They offer an upgrade to high speed internet for $5 a day (usd) but that also didn't work. Their internet was too inconsistent for a Skype call. Also- laundry service was way over-priced (minimum of 25 euro). The staff was very professional and the housekeepers were excellent.
fantastic location.
Acceptable hotel in great location. Quite adequate
Hotel rooms were neat & clean but a little small. The shower was a little difficult to get in & out of but this was outweighed by the great location & local transport nearby. You need to enquire about the public transport & quite usable but we were referred to using taxis which are quite expensive.
Very well located, clean, comfortable
A few short blocks from the Sishane Subway stop, the Tunel Funicular and the main pedestrian thoroughfare, Istaklal Cadessi, it is easy to access all the major tourist sites. My room, on the rear of the seventh floor was spacious and completely comfortable. The bed was firm. The room was well cleaned. I appreciated the two bottles of water left for me each day. I purchased an electrical adapter from the front desk for ten lira. Since I always bring ear plugs with me when I travel, I did not mind the very late music from a nearby night club on Friday and Saturday nights. I stayed two weeks. The only criticism I have of the hotel is that the breakfasts were extremely heavy on meat, cheese and eggs (both boiled and scrambled), and very light on cereals and fruit. I got tired of eating corn flakes and chopped apples. There was no granola, oatmeal or any other adult breakfast cereal.
Very noisy
This hotel is right next to night club and the deafening music kept us awake till 3 AM. Our request for a quiet room went into dead ears as we got the worst rooms. The airport shuttle price shown on Expedia is incorrect as the charged us more and in Euro instead if lira for the same amount! The breakfast is a disaster! A few olives and cheeses with different kinds of bread!!! I wasted my money might aswell have slept in the street and through my money in the Bosporus river!
Too expensive for what you get
Too expensive for what you get, very strong smoke smell, poor breakfast, old building, tiny rooms, single tiny elevator, 10 mins walk from istiklal street. We paid 100 turkish lira more, we moved to hilton bomonti: absolutely wonderful 5 stars hotel...
tiny rooms and nerve recking room colors.
The room was tiny. The room colors gave me and my wife headache. We left after two days although we had a20 day booking.Ggeneral cleanliness and service are OK. Location is good.
Value for Money
Nicely located hotel, very convenient. Air conditioned rooms and complementary breakfast. Perfect for business or adult travel, but can be so boring for children.
Great location
The most amazing thing about this hotel is its location and the staff are very friendly and helpful, the room is very small, also the bathroom, but its decent and clean, hot water is running 24/7, but the AC doesn't cool the entire room, also at night you could hear the different noises (music, singing...) from the surrounding but its not too hatmful.
I got the room with a very good rate, but the room I got was very small, and have some damages at the door, the shower was about 60x60 cm, or less, it was usefull for what I want it, to stay until 6 am to take my taxi to the airport, but at least this room (in the back of the building) are not good for a longer stay.
Poor Service & Very Moldy Shower/Bathtub
It's hard for me to keep this review short because there's so much to say. The man at checkout yelled at me over the phone to come down to the reception because he didn't see the 1hr late checkout in his computer that I was given the night before by another worker. When I first checked in I was given a room with a sopping wet floor because they had just done a poor job of steaming it. The cleaning lady did a bad job of cleaning the bathroom, she left the floor wet, soap residue all over the shower, didn't replace the very used bar soap, & she was obviously not cleaning the black mold in the shower because it was everywhere. The worst part of staying in this hotel was how they treated my guests that would come meet me. All guests, even if they were just waiting in the lobby for me to come downstairs for dinner were asked for their government identification. They were like military officers about this. Also, if you will need WIFI here then you better forget about it because it's very spotty and works in some rooms ok, but for the most part it's intermittent. They also have very loud dance music that plays well into the night on the weekends. You will regret staying here, I sure did.
the room is small the bed is not good and very small
Bad location hard to find
Small rooms, not clean the staff were ok but not very friendly. Hated the location even cab drivers had a hard time finding it.
You get what you pay for
The rooms are small and the hotel is quite claustrophobic. Tiny elevator. Insufficient lighting everywhere but that is the theme of this hotel. Hotel is located in Pera Area which I believe is south of Istiklal Street. Takes max 5 minute walk to get to Istiklal Street and about 15 minutes to get to Taksim Square. BUT. For the price you pay, it is great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Would like to show special appreciation for the receptionists. They are great! The breakfast is decent and the waiters in the restaurant are magnificent at their job. The room is clean and was serviced everyday. Most likely to return to this hotel for another short stay.
Good
The location is nice which is close to Taksim and u can walk upto the spice bazar and topkaapi as well.
i felt like i am on my home with my famaily
i felt like i am on my home with my family the hotel location is good near to taksim only 5 min walking and near to metro station i felt comfort with the staff was very friendly >
Very Uncomfortable
Overall - good location, good employees, horrible shower, horrible ventilation/air conditioning. The location is great and the employees are awesome! But our room was unbelievably hot...it doesnt have air conditioning...it has a FAN. So the property description of the hotel is decieving and I plan on calling hotels.com to discuss, It should say fan...not air conditioning. For 80 degree weather...you need more than a fan to keep the room decent enough to sleep in. The combo of heat and no air, made it very very difficult to sleep. Imagine trying to enjoy your vacation like a zombie...no fun! I honeslty felt tortured in the room...I wouldnt recommend the hotel again. Also - the shower did not have a full door...so when we took a shower, the water was splashing all over the bathroom...the floors were soaking wet after every shower. I discussed with the hotel and they were very kind and offered to change the room...I looked at the other room, but it had the same issue with the shower and no air conditioning either. The location is the only thing good about this hotel and there are soooo many hotels right next to it...I would stay somewhere else instead.
great location and staff
g reat loca tion and staff, nice room with nice view
You need to stay this side of taksim area!
Great hotel that's about to get even better! All taksims being ripped up for construction so this little gem is on the right side of Istiklal way away from the mess in the square. Internet drops out and shabby English skilled staff but at the end of the day who cares!
Great location, less than great hotel
Although I booked my hotel room well in advance of my trip, I was given the last and worst room in the hotel. I was told it was because I was the last guest to check in. I arrived at the hotel after a 10 hour flight, it is a hotel, guests arrive at all hours, why was I given the worst room because I arrived after 8pm? My room, although clean and in good condition, was dreadfully hot. My view was of a heating vent and other awful things. The curtains stayed drawn the entire time. The bathroom was less than great also because the shower head was broken. When I showered, water went all over the bathroom floor and there was nothing I could do. Although I was supposed to get WiFi in my room, I could not access it unless I was in the hotel lobby. The hotel staff was amazing. The front desk attendant, Ahmet, was super nice and helpful. Everyone was friendly and the hotel is located in a great area of town.
Okay place with tiny bathroom
This place is nothing special even though it tries to be hip. The wifi worked 10% of the time and when it did it was super slow. One front desk employee was very friendly but every one else seemed bored to be there and did not go out of their way to make my stay a pleasant one. I am thin but I felt grossly overwight inside the tiny bathroom. I would not recommend this hotel.
very nice hotel , friendly staff , located in very popular area , heart of the Taksim.
Bad
Rooms are small staff were not friendly they had better room than the one they gave us
Perfect location for shopping and nightlife
Value for money! Ideal hotel if you do not expect the big chain standard. The shower was very nice with a lot of water. Very friendly staff. Beds are a bit small, but ok.
Tulip City Taksim
The pros: location, location, location -- steps from metro, nightlife & shopping; beautifully decorated lobby and room; scrumptious breakfast; in-house Turkish bath and massage services; small but solid gym. The cons: bed was somewhat small and not the most comfortable; since it's close to the hustle and bustle, can be loud at night, especially on Saturday; small bathroom. Overall, if you're in Istanbul to soak in the city's sights and nightlife (and why else would you be coming to Istanbul?!), this is a great value in a vibrant neighborhood.
Close to sights ,located near transport
Had a Turkish foam bath whilst staying here! Haggled the price so very good value!!
Great hotel for a great value
The hotel arranged a good transfer for us from the airport. At arriving to the hotel the hotel was beyond of what we expected, it's located parallel to Istiklal street near Pera area. The rooms size we moderate but clean and looked new, the toilet was clean and we had lots of toilet amenities from shampoo to mouth wash. The only inconvenience I faced at the hotel were minor dissatisfaction like the breakfast was the same on regular basis with no variety, the AC was facing my bed which caused me the flu for several days, the the toilet amenities were never changed throughout our stay and a call from the room is 3 times more expensive than outside Other than this the hotel was very good comparing to the money I paid. I highly recommend it.
Convenient Location, Reasonably Priced
Excellent location, great neighborhood full or bars, restaurants and boutiques. Very small rooms, funky decoration, mediocre staff. Breakfast is very poor, with bad coffee (I paid 2 Euros for an "espresso" which was undrinkable) so if an option without breakfast is possible, i would recommend it as on Istikal and in Pera there are plenty of breakfast options, with good espresso and freshly squeezed OJ. The rooms have A/C and flat screen TV, their own safe. Istanbul hotels are expensive and rooms are small, so given its position bang in the center, spotless clean rooms, free Wi-Fi and reasonable price, I will come here again.
Noisy Hotel
Don't expect to get much isleep here as the hotel has a club on the roof which plays loud music well into the night
Traveler from Dubai
This was the worst hotel I have stayed at in the Taksim / Istiklal Caddesi / Pera area. Despite having opened only two years ago, the hotel's physical condition was shockingly bad. The quality of service and staff was barely OK. I do not recommend this hotel at all. There are better choices in the area.
awful!!!!
The hotel was terrible, they give us a tiny little room and that was terrible!!!!! The room was not safe, somebody opened the room window at night. We were so scared. The bathroom sink was broken so when we had shower, the water couldn't run through the floor. It was like a lake!!! Air conditioner was also bad that a lot of noise came out during the night. If you love horror movies and you cannot be scared, I advise this hotel!
A funky hotel in a great area
I've been to Istanbul several times and have stayed in many different hotels and in different parts of the city. This location (just down the street from the Pera Palace and Istikal Street) was idea for me as I didn't need to be near the old city for sightseeing. The hotel decor is astoundingly gay--in other words--fabulous! It isn't my style, but I enjoyed the decorator's vision nevertheless. I had the mini-single room which was indeed mini. I don't mind small rooms, but this one was probably 6X8feet. With two suitcases, it made moving around and storing things awkward. The room soon became cluttered after opening the suitcases as there was no where to store anything. Very clean and well-kept, though. The breakfast was good with lots of selection. The staff were very friendly and professional. My only complaint was the wifi was VERY iffy over the three nights I stayed there. It was either non-existent in my room or cut off when I went down to the lobby. I heard other guest complain about the problem as well. This started day 1 and the problem was never resolved despite repeated reminders to the staff over my stay. Business people may want to consider this when booking. Otherwise, I was very pleased with Tulip City.
Not impressed
Hotel location was great. Reception area looked very trendy but res tof hotel appeared in need of redecorating. The rooms were small and the shower facilities were very basic. The big shock was the fact that the hotel had a nightclub housed on its first floor. We were accommodated on the 2nd floor and faced two nights of no sleep due to the noise of the disco resonating in our room. Thursday - music until 12 midnight and Friday - music until 3.00am. There was no mention of this 'facility' within the hotel and if we had known previously, we would not have accepted the booking. Needless to say, when we asked to see the manager, the reception staff were unable to locate him! This very uncomfortable stay spoilt the first two days of our holiday in Istanbul and left us feeling very 'cheated' as we had already paid for the accommodation in full.
Bring earplugs
Hotel was very clean with great breakfast and a good location, but I cannot recommend it to anyone who wants a good night sleep. Our room faced the bar and the window offered little protection from the music blasting past 2am on Saturday night. We could even hear the voices of the people in the bar. Our room door was also right next to the elevator, which was loud in the mornings. Never felt well-rested.
Good location and nice rooms
I think for the price, location, and rooms, Tulip City was a great hotel. The rooms were nicer than I expected and it includes free WiFi and breakfast, which is sometimes hard to find. My only complaint would be that I was right by the stairs, and I also had an adjoining room, so I could smell the cigarette smoke and hear the TV of my neighbors. Though, in Turkey you're going to be hard pressed to find a "non-smoking" room. Overall it was a great hotel for the price.
Good spa, historic location
Hey, yeah if you can afford to stay at those great hotels at 200 euro per night - please do not stay at this hotel. Otherwise, you'll get to know a small hotel with some pretensions of artsy design. The only thing I didnt like about it is that my room was accessble only via an elevator that you could go only via the breakfast hall. So if you are pointed in the other direction rather then the elevator right next to the reception - please ask if you could get rooms upstairs rather then in the backyard. The hotel is located in former apartment buildings so hence all the trouble. Otherwise, the location is great. Not only the hotel is 3 min walk from the Istiklal but all the great bars of the Galata are just around the corner. The imposing building in front of the hotel used to belong to the US General Consulate. I greatly enjoyed going to sauna, hamam and jaccuzi free of charge downstairs. You can also get massage for 40 euros to get you fixed after all the daytime tours and ready for an Istiklal night. Probably you could find something cheaper in the surrounding quarters. The hotel has full occupancy rates anyways. But if you succeed to get the booking and do not mind the price bracket - go for it.
Zana
I would not recommend this Hotel due to the following reasons. At our arrival, they told us that they had over booked the hotel so we had to take a room with two single beds and just push them together. Once we got to our room, the AC was broken, when I called for help, the front desk advised that it was under repair and it wouldn't be fixed until next month so instructed to open the window if we needed air. The location was busy and with constant street noise which included people playing loud music and cars honking. The shower head did not work, it sprayed water in 5 directions so our entire bathroom was soaked by the end of a ten minute shower. The walls were insulated poorly so we could hear conversations and the TV constantly in the room next to us. Lastly, The hotel did not post any rates for telephone calls, I had made 2 collect calls which were charged to our room which ended up costing us $40 CAD, the calls were 8 minutes in duration. There were several 1 minute calls that were not connected but we were still charged for them. At the time of check out, the receptionist was quick to tell us the hotel policy about phone calls but unwilling to hear us out about the under 1 minute phone calls. At this point, we had no choice but to pay as there was no reasoning with the hotel policy. I believe that the hotel could have been reasonable to at least listen to our concerns, but instead it was more important to them to collect their money instead of doing the right thing.
Perfect Location
The Tulip City Taksim is perfectly located to really enjoy Istanbul. It's a 3 minute walk to Istiklal Street, 100 meters from the new subway, a 10 minute walk downhill (or you can take the Tunel funicular) to the tram that takes you to all the sights in old town. The staff was very friendly, but a little lacking in the English department, but the tried their best and alway got me where I wanted to be. The rooms are spotlessly clean, with flat screen TVs and a minibar that is not so crowded so there's plenty of room for your own things. The wifi works flawlessly, plus there are 3 computers in the lobby with a printer. There is adequate storage, plugs in the right places, and the safe works great. The shower was a bit of a challenge, but the water was hot and the pressure strong. I would definitely stay there again. It was great value for the money.
Tulip City Taksim, Istanbul
The hotel was great very central location. Only problem there were no english language TV channels, could not watch the news at a time of crisis in the middle east. Otherwise everything was fine.
well located nice decorated but a lil bit jammed hotel.
typical 4 star well decorated hotel, it is in a good location.
5 Star Service - Best Afforable Istabul Hotel in Beyoglu neighborhood
Tulip City Taksim Hotel is fantastic and I would stay again! I've stayed in many of 5 star hotels in the world and this 4 star boutique hotel had the feel of one. The hotel is modern with nice design. It's in Beyoglu on a quiet street across from the old American Embassy, a couple minutes walk to Caddesi Istiklal, the main shopping street - near the best restaurants, cafes and nightlife. I stayed with my husband and sister-in-law for a week. The staff were great - friendly without being intrusive, spoke very good English, knowledgeable about the city, restaurants, transportation and all around made you feel very comfortable. Erkan at the front desk was one of the best staff! Our penthouse room had great city views, was very clean, comfortable bed with elegant linens and towels. The included breakfast buffet was always fresh with eggs, cheese, meat, yogurt, figs, fresh fruit, cereals, and many breads. There is even a spa/hamman and gym int he basement and if you want a pool their sister hotel, Pera Tulip Hotel has one and is a 2 minute walk down the street.
Good choice
The hotel staff, service and rooms were above expectation. Good breakfasts. Location good, plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars, in walking distance as well cultural sights. Transport easliy available if needed. Would stay at this hotel again, good value for money.
No respect for words
They mentioned 4 star but seem like 3 star hotel. Average hotel. Breakfast was quiet ok. The guy who works on the night shift, he managed airport transfer, first he gave us double price than market for luxury Mercedes. After negotiations, we agreed on a price which is equivalent or bit higher than the market. In the morning, he calls the cheapest option. So dont trust him. Outside the hotel you have many options with reasonable price.
Super nettes Personal. Nur die Zimmer sind schon recht klein.
Pessima pulizia, personale incompetente, cercano solo soldi.... Colazione da Caritas.
A refuse de me delivrer une facture:impossible de me faire rembourser par mon employeur
Für diesen Preis erwartet man was besseres.
Eher Motel ohne Sterne
Good location, good pricing
Good location, good pricing, helpful staff. Some rooms (close to elevator) are a little noisey. Showers are a bit outdated and could use some renovation.

Wel3 spots.
Excellent management with great staff and service, It was nice to have a good breakfast every morning on the property. Sefa has a huge personality, the other guys at the desk were so lovely and helpful.
