The property is completely average and there were several disappointing things about our room, despite being an executive suite. Shower wouldn’t drain and excess water spilled everywhere. Bathroom sink was broken and sprayed water everywhere. Stains in multiple places in the room. And the room itself was awkward and not well designed. Staff was hit or miss on friendliness. Will stay somewhere else next time.
Great stay thank you
Best in Lisbon
Love the Tivoli. It’s the only place I stay while in Lisbon
Not sure I would return to the Tivoli
Check in was poor. We arrived earlier than the 3 pm check in and were told that we could get early check in for 150 euros, which was a 50% premium of one night cost. We declined and checked back around 1:30 since we had a 2 pm city tour that would last 4 hours. Still no room but at 2:15 received a text that our room was ready. A bit late! Then later, going to dinner it took 30 minutes to get a taxi and make us late for our dinner reservation. The room carpet was dirty with several red stains. The positive is that the location was very good.
Lovely staff and great location
Loved my stay! This was my second time staying at the hotel and I would choose it again. Beautiful property and great staff!
Incredible
Waited 30 mins for bags to be brought up. Had to go down and remind them. House keeping failed to replace coffee cups. No face cloths. Toilet paper refill wasn’t replaced.
Very nice stay
Great as always
I have stayed here more than once now. I love the location and breakfast is excellent. I wish there was more storage for clothes in the room. But otherwise, great!
Do not stay on the 8th floor. There is a bar on the 9th where the staff must wear clogs, the music is loud, and at 1 am they decide to shift noisy tables across the floor.
It certainly is amongst the the best hotels we have been to do. The staff are a pleasure and take care of the smallest details. A well organised team. We will be there again soon.
This is what every hotel tries to be!
The hotel is incredibly beautiful, offering a true oasis with its pool, which makes a stay in Lisbon especially pleasant. During the hot summer days, when walking up and down the city's hills can be exhausting, the opportunity to cool off, relax a bit, and enjoy a cold drink is simply invaluable. The entire staff is very polite and accommodating. The beds are comfortable, and you can even sleep with the windows open without much noise disturbance. Although the hotel is not located in the most touristy center of the city, it is within walking distance of all the major attractions. This location is ideal, especially considering that the central Baixa area is filled with restaurants and is bustling with people who often stay out late. If you are traveling with children who go to bed earlier, staying away from the noisy center is a better choice.
Nice
Amazing welcoming staff and beautiful hotel
The hotel check in and room condition is average. The AC in both rooms was not working and we had to call in technician at med night and remained faulty. Staff and service is average and not worth to have name Anantara attached to it
Awesome
Nice place
2 star hotel at a 5 star price
The air conditioning is horrendous, we barely slept since the room was so warm. We called for help ensuring it was working and got someone who came to the room and insisted that setting the thermostat to 5° would fix it — it didn’t. Upon our early arrival we left our luggage at the hotel and got a ticket and specified we were waiting for our room to be ready as opposed to checking out when asked. We cane back once our room was ready and were told our luggage is already in our room. We get to the room and it’s not. So I call and they now say it’s on the way up. However they never took our name when we left our luggage so there’s no way for them to know where to bring it. The person we spoke with twice, also cut me off while speaking both times, as I was trying to explain to them that situation and how I was 99% sure they’re incorrect and there’s no way for them to know where to bring our luggage. Finally we go down and speak to someone else who takes us to the room with our luggage and we get it. No apologies, no nothing acknowledging how they flat out lied to us twice about our luggage being in the room, and then on the way to the room. We wasted almost an hour dealing with this incompetence during our very brief 1 night stay. If you enjoy awful service, being lied to, and sweating while you sleep, this is the hotel for you.
Location was great for walking around city center to shop snd dine.
The Hotel location it is a plus, nice area, fancy stores, safe. We got a room upgrade for a family plus size but some mold smell hard to pass.
Incredible service and graciousness.
The room was unacceptably noisy from the bar - loud noise until 2am
Love the staff.
We had a bit of a challenging start to the stay, but the staff were extremely helpful in resolving the problem and ensuring that our stay was excellent. The room was very nice and although we did not have dinner in the hotel, the room service order was delicious. Breakfasts were great and we had wonderful service each morning from Maria each morning. The hotel is well located and walkable to the historic sector of Lisbon. I would recommend the Tivoli Avenida to anyone staying in central Lisbon. Thanks to the hotel again for a wonderful stay.
Lisboa is a must
Great stay at a wonderful hotel. The best breakfast ever!!! Hotel under construction during our stay (wish we had been forewarned). But staff tried their best to make up for it.
Excellent location, great service, rooms a little bit dated..
Wonderful hotel in heart of the Lisbon .
Overall, very pleasant stay. We stayed 2 nights. I had booked a room for 3 adults (my husband and I and adult son). We got into room approximately 3:00 pm after red eye from the States. The room had 1 king bed. Called the desk. Told other bed would be brought in at turndown. We were tired, needed a short nap. Had to pay for an upgrade to get another room which had a pullout coach. Room was very nice but another E150/night. Finally settled in new room, decided on short rest and construction began which continued for several hrs. Talked to desk again, they apologized and said it would stop 6:30 pm. The desk did send up some wine and fruit as an apology which was a nice gesture. The lobby has a bar area which was very nice and served a light menu. The hotel overall was wonderful. The staff was attentive. I would stay there again, but I would check room accommodations first
Great location.
Tivoli Lisboa
Had an amazing experience . Everything about this hotel is great. I will definitely stay here again.
Great location and property
All perfect.
We really love our stay! Friendly staff, high quality services!
We really love our stay! Friendly staff, high quality services!
Amazing place
Excellent hotel with a good location Staff was absolutely amazing
First arrived, tipped €20 for valet parking and luggage care. Told that they will care after our bags and take to the room immediately. Checked in and I went to the lobby bar with children for snacks. After 1 hour noticed our bags still left in the doorway, basically staff was waiting for us to come to the room first to get another tip. Consider ourselves fair to good tippers but didn’t like that behaviour. Following morning we decided to stay another night in Lisbon. My husband went to the reception at 9:30am to check availability and rates to extend our rooms. Sat there nearly 20mins and told that hotel was full and to come back 10-15mins to find out if the hotel has any available rooms, so we said that we come back after breakfast. The breakfast finishes at 10:30am. Got to the breakfast just before 10am. Was told there will be a couple of minutes wait for the table but noticed there was 4-5 other parties already waiting for the tables. While waiting decided to look for an availability for the hotel room, see there was available rooms as the same rate as the night before £520 per two rooms per night. My husband left me and children for breakfast and went back to the reception to ask if I book online can we keep the same rooms. Was told to wait, waited another 10-12 mins then was told if we book online we couldn’t keep the rooms but if we book with hotel for rate £800 we can keep the rooms. At the same time no breakfast table as time run out. no rooms, very disappointed
A wonderful hotel at the heart of Portugal
From the time we arrived to the time we left, we were treated exceptionally well by the staff of the Tivoli Avenida Liberdade Lisboa. Their facilities are very well kept, the room (especially the bed) was comfortable, and last, but not least, their staff was friendly and always very eager to help. We really enjoyed our stay there. I would not hesitate to stay here again (and we will). Nor would I hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.
No hot/warm water
We had 2 rooms and there was no hot water at all, not even warm water to take a shower or just wash hands. The color of water was not clear either. The rooms are small and carpets need to be changed and or tile put in. It was super noisy outside as well.
Clean place and friendly staff.
It’s was all good!
Even though an upgrade room was available - would only upgrade for 200 euro extra a night - THIS HOTEL DOES NOT HONOUR THE VIP upgrade promise
Excellent hotel in a prime location
The location is nice. But the room the first night is noisy due to an upper level restaurant till 2 am in the morning. The bathroom does not have a vent fan and the window could not be open.
For the price, the property was not a WOW factor
Adequate but expensive
Room poorly designed. Shower was clearly designed by a Frenchman, because the glass barrier was open at the end permitting water to escape onto floor. Nothing to hold onto in the shower. The plug for the hairdryer was difficult to find—it was hidden behind the shaving mirror. It was marked 120/230 but when using a hairdryer, only fed 120 meaning the dryer was anemic at best. Overall, the staff was very friendly, willing to help, but relatively incompetent. Breakfast was great. We spoke with a guest who is staying in a higher floor, and he mentioned that it was virtually impossible to sleep with the music coming from the top floor club. We were lucky because we were staying on a lower floor.
DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL. Tivoli Avenida Liberdade Lisboa engages in criminal action and is belligerently hostile to U.S. citizens. We booked our once-in-a-lifetime trip to Lisbon in July and paid in advance for an Executive Suite with Terrace - three months in advance of our October trip to Portugal. Upon checkin our room was stolen from us by a guest that was a “friend of the hotel” and we were relegated to an inferior room without a refund for the difference in price between the room that we paid for and the inferior room that was forced upon us. The price differential in rooms is listed on the Tivoli website at Euros 190 per night. For our three night stay Tivoli stole Euros 570 (190 x 3 nights) from us. In addition, Tivoli unlawfully profited from a three month interest free loan of the stolen Euros 570 and continues to profit from the stolen money. For our “inconvenience” the manager of Tivoli told us upon checkin that we would be refunded the price differential between the two rooms and offered us either a spa treatment or a dinner - we chose the dinner. We contacted NH HOTEL GROUP, S.A., owners of the Tivoli, who has thus far ignored the theft committed by its manager. DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL.
Excellent situation, stylish hotel with good rooms. Very good breakfast included and a lovely restaurant for dinner on our first night. Oasis of calm outside with gardens and a beautifully cooling pool
Luis and Rafael and the front desk staff were amazing!!! Beautiful property and Seen and SkyBar are one of a kind, would highly recommend! ❤️❤️❤️
It was a relatively nice hotel but not up to our usual 5 star hotels that we stay in at Dubai Address hotels, or Ritz Carlton or four seasons hotels. However for a European hotel, it was nice. The suites are predictably smaller as we were in the executive suite. There was not really an executive lounge as was advertised and for which we had paid to us. It’s better not to state that they have an executive lounge. The housekeeping did not clean our room twice, despite letting them know when we we’re available. The refurbishment is welcome as they are making changes 👍👍. Charles Obioha, MD, Potomac MD, U.S.A.
Ok hotel in a great location
Great location and friendly staff. Pool area is extremely small, and does not have the amount of beds shown on the picture. Maybe around 10 - 15 pool beds. In a hot day, it is impossible to be in the pool area as there is no space. Our room was a standard room, i think a renovation would be welcomed in the decor. The bed was not comfortable. Besides making a lot of noise every time someone moves, it had a sink hole and made it uncomfortable. This is the second and last time i stay here. The good thing is that you have the Skybar and Seen on the rooftop which has a great vibe at night.
Hotel Pinocchio
Terrible. They gave me the 2 rooms at Street view when I paid for both at Riverview. And then when I complained about it, they said ohh we were not prepared to sell those rooms even thou I had paid in advance, I had to wait till 7pm when the actual check in time was supposed to be at at 3 pm, there was no excuse for the delay, when we finally got the correct rooms one was full of a cigarette stink, when complained about the odor we were forced to downgrade to street view, and was only offered a drink at the bar which we did not take, hotel and service are not worth it,
Stunning hotel in the heart of Lisbon.
Shower in the bedroom is poor
Staff, food and rooms are fantastic.
Great upscale area. The pool was unavailable while we were there and the line to check in was unbearable the first try due to a cruise group that had just arrived. We were able to check our bags and return later for check in.
Great. Want to come back
Beautiful hotel. Excellent service and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
The staff of the hotel were really amazing and nice mainly that of the front desk agents. The restaurant was very good as well in terms of food and service. Two caveats though: 1. The executive lounge is really poor and doesn’t match that of 5* hotels. It has poor variety of offerings, has blackout times for events and weirdly closes early! 2. While thé breakfast could’ve been added at a small rate on Expedia $11 for two persons (which by mistake we didn’t), at the hotel it is ridiculously pricier at €26/32 per person! In general, a really good hotel though!
This hotel was great. The service and location is great. I highly recommend the breakfast at the hotel. The SEEN restaurant has some great cocktails. The food is fairly standard. The staff and service were something we enjoyed.
Awesome roof top restaurant and bar that makes this place superb
Amazing
First class hotel in a great location.
One of the best !
This hotel is located in the best part of the city. Center of best shopping district and great restaurants. Friendly staff, very professional concierge service. The made our stay very pleasant (Carolina ) was awesome in helping us plan our stay . One of the most beautiful lobbies, with comfortable seating .
Overpriced
Room was not ready until 3 while our friends room was ready at noon despite the fact that we had adjacent rooms. Once we got room it took an hour to deliver the luggage. Everyone was pleasant but they should have done better.
Choose somewhere else!
Truly underwhelming fir $600/night. Hotel was crowded with older people on tours. Took 35 minutes to check in. Key didn’t work. Ugh!
Great stay
Room was spacious and very comfortable and quiet. Pool area nice too.
Don’t bother. Try a modern boutique hotel instead
#hotelhell This is a 5-Star Hotel that has seen its best days. It is so run down, the sheets are scratchy, the bed so soft and old. Oh and the smell from those overused carpets… just too much. It is also incredibly noisy. I had to change rooms three times and then gave up. Not for business travelers. There are many beautiful boutique hotels in Lisbon. Go there.
Great location
Concierge went out of their way to help. They really went above and beyond anything I’ve experienced before. It was a great hotel with excellent service
5 star. Exceeded all expectations
5 star hotel . Sky bar was very impressive and lively late evening. Pool was good but not enough sun beds . Some people waiting quite a while .
We were only supposed to be here 5 nights, and the balcony room and restaurants were great. But then we tested positive so we are quarantined in our room for another 5 days before we can retest. Everyone has been wonderful!!!
BIG HOTEL and LOUD till 2am from bar
Took over a 1/2 to find reservation. Room was SO loud till 2am. Big hotel and just not what we expected!!!!
Lisbon in May
Arriving at 11 am after early morning flight we did not get our room until 3.15 pm. Nice room great breakfast. Our room wasn’t fully serviced on three of the days with water, glasses coffee cups and pods not replenished. Roof terrace amazing. Pool area needs upgrade… service very slow at times. Concierge very helpful. Great location. May a great month to visit.
Hotel was okay, seems very traditional/old school and not modern in the rooms for a 5 star property. Windows are horrible and look like they are from the 50s.
Excellent
The hotel it’s very nais luxury the bell door very profesional the waiters súper nais But the guy at the elevators was very MEAN VERY UNRRESPECTFUL
Very friendly and helpful staff.
This is one of the great hotels in Lisbon. It's in the Bond Street/5th Ave equivalent of Lisbon and we walked all around the city from there. Service levels are exceptional in all parts of the hotel.
Wonderful lobby area. Friendly seating design and comfortable.
Excellent hotel. A very high standard.
The personnel was top notch!! Flora the concierge was absolutely amazing!!!
Perfect stay
We had an amazing stay here. The staff are so helpful, polite and attentive without being overbearing. Our room was a great size, with all the things you’d expect from a five star hotel. If we ever go back to Lisbon, we’d stay here again.
Amazinh
Amazing
Staff save the day!
We arrived on a Friday late afternoon and couldn't get a table for dinner at all. It was heading towards a dismal experience that was only saved by the friendliness and top notch customer service by Vera from the front desk, who went out of her way to find a fantastic place to have dinner. That's 5 star service!
2 wonderful days Maybe another employee at reception desk would be a good idea
Good stay but improvements needed
The staff are what makes this place. Each and every one of them were simply amazing! True 5 Star service. Special shout out to the gentleman (restaurant manager or breakfast supervisor I am not sure) Who meets you in the morning for breakfast and shows you to your table. Fantastic service and always smiling - very professional. The problem for me is that I checked in to the room and there was a lot of banging from the room next door all solved by a trip to the lovely lady on reception who sorted it immediately, however, the road and street noise that echoes through the room was horrendous. I went to the reception again and they moved me to a new room and upgraded me to a junior suite. I thought this was great because I had been travelling for 2 days I really needed a good nights sleep and it was already midnight! 7am and outside my bedroom window the builders started drilling and banging.. So much for a good nights sleep! I understand there was not any other clean rooms available however I do not expect to complain to reception about noise in the first place however when I do, I do not expect them to move me to a room where I am going to be woken up at 7am! I advised reception on checkout and they apologised and sorted something on my bill which I greatly appreciate but I do not expect a 5 star hotel to be so noisy and loud. Overall a good stay and I would give it a second chance!
The rooms were quite large. The breakfast buffets were really extensive. They also have somenice bars.
Surprise Birthday Treat
I took my partner here for a suprise birthday treat along with our portuguese podengo dog, and they both loved it!
Stay here!
Amazing amazing hotel - would recommend anyone going to Lisbon to stay here!! Love the area with all the nice shops, the beautiful street and it is walkable to everything. The service at the hotel is spectacular, and the rooftop bar is so much fun. Pool is bigger than I thought, although it might be hard to get a chair if you try to pop in later in the day. Recommend to everyone!!
Great hotel
Amazing staff and overall service
Beautiful and inviting lobby, very friendly and helpful staff. Live music playing in the lobby in the evening, Amazing Spa and therapists in the Spa. Nice breakfast. Some rooms are noisy due to the proximity of Av. Liberdade, dinner and breakfast restaurant have very very tiny tables. Some cigarette smell out of aircon, probably due to outside smoking of the Seen (Panoramic bar & restaurant) outlet on the top floor. Nice outdoor pool (bigger than in the pictures). Overall excellent experience and new favourite hotel in Lisbon now :-) Will definitely return
Service of a lifetime
We had a few hiccups after we checked-in, however the manager on duty, made sure they were resolved to our total satisfaction. It's an older property, they have refurbished rooms from floor 1-5 however higher floors are still dated. Excellent location of the hotel. Walking distance to most sites around the city. There is a really nice rooftop restaurant and bar..with stunning views of the city. The best part about our stay was the level of service being delivered. A note to the GM: Following members of the staff deserve accolades for their excellent service: Lucas (served us at the main restaurant during breakfast. Most attentive person to every single need of ours) Fabio: Manager on duty. Excellent customer service and went beyond call of duty to help/accomodate our needs Chris: Manager on duty. same as above Victor: Manager on duty. same as above Renata: Restaurant manager. Excellent management in place. This will ensure that whenever we come back to Lisbon, we shall only be staying here. Thank You to you all.
Friendly staff, BUT rooms need to be redone!
The positive, the gym is nice, lighting a bit dingy. The exercise balls are all low on air and need to be cleaned. The exercise mats need to be cleaned. There are no towels in the gym. Especially during Covid time a must. The rooms desperately need renovation! They are not up to current standards. The shower enclosure does not offer enough coverage, bathroom floor is a lake when you finish showering. Had to pull the plug completely out of the tub drain otherwise the bathtub would fill up when showering. I did not use the supplied shampoo, conditioner & body gel. I am health conscious so I watch the sodium Laurel Sulfate & other toxins in generic brands. The rooftop has nice views. The room service delivery & removal of cart were quick but the food was not good. Strange flavors. I had penne pesto. It did not taste like a true pesto. The scrambled eggs at breakfast tasted bitter everyday. I do not know what caused the unusual flavor. The other breakfast items were fine but no blueberries ore other berries offered for musli or cereals. The tea quality as seems everywhere in Portugal is "Basic" Lipton... Not up to par at all for me. I drink only organic tea in non-toxic tea bags. The heat from steeping the tea bag leaches toxins from the cheap tea brands into the tea you drink. The staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly. I was offered a different room because the 4th floor room was depressing, old like a dungeon. 7th floor brighter & ok. Thank you!
Perfection in the city
Perfection in the city. We had a super time at this hotel. The pool is such a treat and so very lush in the middle of the city. The staff could not have helped us more. Including sending candy creations to the room for our girl. A lovely surprise. The breakfast was wonderful. If I had to find one issue I would suggest that the pool staff keep that area clean of used towels throughout the day. As guests left dirty towels on beds, staff left them there so people didn’t get to use the beds despite the other guests being clearly finished.
convenient

Excellent breakfast buffet, very clean hotel, beautiful rooftop bar and very friendly helpful staff.
