It was a great property.
We have a running list of everything that was atrocious about this hotel and it won’t fit here. For starters this is NOT a beach hotel. If you want to go to the beach, you walk 2 miles down a slippery dangerous trail and past homeless with no signage. The concierge will have you believe because an exact quote “no where else to eat” and only one hike relatively close - that there is nothing else to do there because they want you to spend all your money sitting at their pool eating either wildly overpriced and 2 star food. The concierge was unbelievably bad. The doors didn’t lock to the entrance of the building. It’s loud all night. You can’t use your deck because the ducks literally attack you. (I have pictures) However at night, guests can bang away at your door which is horrifying. I have never had a 1 star stay but this was it. Only perk is we hated them so much we forced our self to never eat at the hotel which was great because Hanalei bay is 8 minutes away and it’s absolutely amazihg.
Loved the property but my “Oveanview” room overlooked the parking lot which was a HUGE disappointment. And Because i booked on Expedia, we were given NO Marriott points after spending $2200.00, and altho my husband is a Titanium member, we ordinarily have perks like late checkout but not given. We will never book with Expedia again!
What a beautiful property. The beds are luxurious. I had an amazing nights sleep here. The North side of the island is pretty quiet in September but we loved it.
Loved the pools. Easy access for kids to have fun and great infinity pools and hot tub with views. The blended drinks were great. Had pina colada and daquiris. The restaurant was very convenient and nice outdoor seating. Very close to Hanalei bay beaches and restaurants. Was very convenient to drive to all hikes we wanted to do.
Resort was nice however our room had several problems during our stay such as the dishwasher overflowed and luckily we noticed it before we left the room and stopped the dishwasher or it could have caused significant damage to the carpeting and room. They did fix it when told about it. The air conditioning was working fine for the first three days but the last three days it was leaking water and we asked them to fix it as it was making the carpet wet in the bedroom. They came right away and said they fixed it. We went for dinner and came back and it was still leaking and the carpet was wet. They came back the next day and said they fixed it and put a large fan in the room to dry the carpet but when we returned to the room it was still leaking and continued like that until we checked out so basically had a leaking air conditioner for three days and wet carpet to walk on in the bedroom. They did not offer anything to compensate for this annoyance other than two free chocolates....Not very good hospitality for the Westin.
Convenient and clean but not welcoming
The room was nice. Very convenient to have a kitchen and a washer and dryer in the room. The reception and welcoming was nonexistent. Just a basic hotel check in which is not what we have experienced at other Hawaii hotels. Seems more geared to timeshare owners. The nearby farmers market is great. There is a nearby trail down to a beach but it’s a somewhat steep hike back up.
Great experience with the staff and may be a little overpriced stay for me but overall a great experience. Thanks
We just came from a 2 week stay in the Philippines The staff at all the resorts in the PI are much friendlier. US employees need better training to attempt to match.
Great
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Princeton Westin resort. Only complaints are that the room carpet looked a little old, the onsite restaurant which was excellent is not open for breakfast. I Also think an outside bar would be something they should consider. Other than that it was great! The resort is beautiful and we loved watching the nene geese on the lawn
Beautiful Property, Excellent Service
One restaurant is disappointing.
Loved it!!!
Amazing location huge property beautiful rooms.
The property was beautiful. However the number of goose pooping around and in the pool was a little bothersome. The running trail they speak of is just the road along the golf course. The room I thought I picked by looking at the photos did not have same or even similar view and was very disappointing, The staff were very friendly, and they property offered lots of activities, nightly live music was very enjoyable
Paradise!
Amazing property, staff, guests and fantastic food!
We enjoyed our time here. The dining options worked well for us, and the beach access was a doable short walk.
We had a fantastic stay! Beautiful grounds, spacious room and quiet, pristine setting. We are excited to return soon!
This is great place. Beach view is so so beautiful. Safe and very quite. Many pools and hot tubes. Enjoy a lot with my kid. Room is very spacious. 10 points for all
Didn’t do daily cleaning. Floor grout was dirty and floor was sticky. House keeping came and changed towels and emptied trash. Or are we supposed to do cleaning ourselves including vacuum?
They really went above and beyond in taking care of us. Hospitality suite after checkout was a nice feature that I haven’t seen at too many other places (usually there is just a shared lounge ). Very kind staff
Worth Considering in Princeville
The Westin was a lovely facility and our room was very nice with a well designed layout. Our only disappointment in the room was the pillows which were less than adequate. Having to pay for parking was a surprise and disappointment. Unfortunately, to our surprise, the main pool was closed for renovation which made it un useable and negatively impacted the view from the dining room (we were left to look at a green construction fence). Speaking of the restaurant, there was only one on the grounds and it, along with the bar, closed at 8:00PM leaving no options if you prefer to dine later in the evening or are looking for a nightcap. Disappointing! The small store and cafe for take away items was excellent and we took advantage of it more than once! It's worth checking out if you stay at the Westin.
We will stay here next visit to Kauai!
The property was nice. I was very disappointed in the fact that they never notified any guest the large main pool was under repair. We had 2 small pools to choose from but we picked this property for the pool.
Fun pool area, lots of grills and activities in a beautiful location.
Very clean. Good service.
Granted it was a short stay but a unfriendly vibe. I felt like an outsider. I should have done a different resort
Lovely views, quiet atmosphere, fun pools
The property was very clean and quiet. My kids enjoyed the pool but to be fair they are 10 and 12 and got tired of the pool pretty quickly. The area of Princeville and it’s beaches are so beautiful, we would’ve loved an easier walking option to the beach. If you are looking for a quiet place to read a book by the pool, you’ve found it. If it’s enjoying the area by foot you will need to pick a different spot.
Lovely stay, grounds are beautiful and serene
Love the location and the people.
Staff at front desk was horrible and lied to us. Facility is old. Definitely not worth the money.
Amenities were horrible on the resort. Only one restaurant and no pool bar. Very disappointing for how much money we paid to stay there. Also the gym was tiny and always completely packed. Weren’t satisfied at all with our stay there.
Reserved 2 adjoining rooms. At check in I was told no adjoining rooms were available. The rooms could be in the same bldg only! The adjoining room was for preteens! It would have been nice to have the extra bathroom and some privacy. So I ended up paying a primo price for a room we didn't use.
I
Beautiful grounds, ground keepers work continuously to make it aesthetically beautiful. People very friendly & helpful. It was a very pleasant stay.
Very clean & good amenities
Love the location and friendly atmosphere
Great for families! Best kiddie pool I’ve ever seen! Very safe and still very fun! Staff very responsive to our needs
I like that that was very convenient. Staff is always very nice. Room is very clean. It was great having a full kitchen. The bathroom is amazing hands-down this has been my favorite hotel on Kauai would definitely come again It would be nice if they would lower the price some for locals. Lots of parking, but not as convenient. If you have a unit further away from the lobby would be helpful If they had some carts you could use to transport your groceries and your luggage..so you don’t have to make make multiple trips to your vehicle to your unit to unload and load especially since units have fulll Kitchen and u plan on making meals there it would be nice to have like a wagon or a cart for your groceries and your luggage
Highly recommend this place for those looking for a quiet and comfortable stay without needing all the bells and whistles of a full-scale resort.
I found the walls of the villas to be quite thin and the setup of the rooms (especially the bathroom areas) quite dated and the configuration odd (and my bathroom hadn’t been fully cleaned). The staff was incredibly kind, generous, and helpful. The families seem to enjoy the pools and all the offerings on site. In the end, I think it’s the room that would stop me from returning. It was at once generic, loud, uninviting, and the AC didn’t go low enough for the heat (lowest was 68), so I got a terrible sleep to boot. If you have kids, aren’t heat sensitive during sleep, and want a good basic, friendly place to stay in Princeville, the Westin will probably fit the bill for you.
Very family oriented. Restaurant is sub-par.
We liked the room with kitchenette and Washer/dryer; the main problem was a noisy Air conditioning system that cycled on and off all night. Very annoying! Otherwise, bed comfortable and and no noise From neighbors. Not enough parking.
this was my first time to kauai. the Westin property was wonderful! It didn't seem overcrowded and the low scale buildings made it feel expansive. Nice pools, hot tub, tiki torches at night, live guitar music. Only one restaurant that got crowded at times. Grab & Go breakfast did not have many gluten free options. Parking was a little tight in the evenings when we would return from dinner out in other towns. The roosters start crowing around 3am and that was a little annoying.
Our best life , with the Westin !
We enjoyed an incredible father - son week and our stay at the Westin Princeville was an integral part of helping us to live our best life !
Very high prices for amenities. Restaurants limited. No beach access. High parking charge. Otherwise beautiful facility.
Amazing resort on the Kauai North shore.
An amazing resort! Friendly and helpful staff. Awesome location! Great pool area.
Good time share style hotel. It is one of the only time share places with a restaurant. Amenities are good for families or backpackers.
We liked the layout and the room was nice. We didn’t like the fact we wanted a higher floor than the ground floor and didn’t get it it. Also there was no ocean view.
Nice place
Nice property
Spacious room/ suite. Washer dryer in room, great pools, plenty of hot tubs .
Our stay was stupendous from check in to check out. Staff was very courteous, knowledge & helpful. Property is well kept & aesthetically pleasing. The studio was well stocked, comfortable & spacious. Loved the addition of lavender balm for bedtime. This wonderful property is a must to experience at least once.
What can I say…it’s Westin. Everything is top service. 💯
Very limited food options, long queues at cafe as there is no breakfast on site
Lovely property with great ocean views. Plenty of pools and recreation area.
Car parking fee was not spelled out early
Property was beautiful and clean. It took a long while to check-in, but understandable with staff-shortage. Room was nice, but had a horrible smell at the entrance of the room. The shower and tub, and sinks had mold which probably why there were so many bugs flying around. The top sheet on the bed was wrinkled which looked like it was just made from the previous guest. Plus the hair in the sheets resulted in me sleeping in my sleeping bag that I packed for myself, in case of situations like this. Some of the outlets didn't work.
It is absurd to have a 10 am Checkout The hotel says its necessary For new guiets coming We had a one nite stay So we were hurried out the door The refrigerator a was as a large Noisy one We had to roll it out from The wall and unplug it It was 3 feet away from the bed The property shows that vit needs To be updated
Beautiful property. Room was gorgeous and very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Very good customer service. Area around the hotel is amazing as well. There’s a beautiful cove with beach access by the hotel. Restaurant at the hotel is really good. The desserts are amazing. We had a spectacular 30th wedding anniversary. Can’t wait to go back!
Beautiful property! We loved the room and ability to make our own food. The many roosters were highly entertaining and truly Kauai. The pool is lovely and we enjoyed the restaurant onsite. Only complaints were very limp, unsupportive pillows and the oven was dirty which almost caused us to set off the smoke alarms when trying to make a pizza. Check before you use yours!
Overall good experience. Nice grounds and rooms. Ocean beach is not really walkable. Limited dining options. The Expedia buy will put you in rooms facing the worst directions, with no option to upgrade to look at the resort or ocean.
Very nice, modern, clean, and safe.
i was at 3 floor for handicap and no elevator 😩
Very friendly staff. Very clean and quiet.
Nice staff and resort was nice, my room had a ton of insects and cockroaches. I understand it’s a tropical area but waking up to multiple bugs everywhere after they cleaned it was not nice.
Had issues with the air in our building but staff worked urgently to repair and made us comfortable! Great restaurant and wonderful pools!
It was amazing. The set up and location was beautiful. Really enjoyed the stay.
The property was clean- the food was overpriced even for Hawaii and terrible quality frozen waffle premade in coffee shop with soggy fruit 20$ We arrived at 3 checked in finally at 6pm
We loved the room size, kitchen, pool area and amazing lush landscaping. We did not like that we were not informed that kids club, room cleaning and kids pool would be closed prior to our stay. It would be nice to have clean linens delivered regularly despite lack of housecleaning.
The dining option was not very good for the size of the property!
Hello, I was disappointed by the Westin for the following reasons. 1. Charged daily for parking 2. Ceiling fan in room extremely noisy 3. Ice maker in room loud and obnoxious throughout day and night 3. Room smelled musty 5. Towels didn’t smell clean
Short staffed but Taylor made up for it. A wonderful waitress/barrista!
Front Desk, Shuttle Service Attendants and Concierge are extremely helpful/polite. Housekeeping express answering are really efficient. Room carpet very dirty, don't go barefoot. Needed to rent a car, no transportation offers whatsoever, NONE.
The property is decent, but the service is terrible, this place nickel and dimes you, you have to check out pool towels and check them in or get charged, the service is awful, nobody there feels like they want to be there, and the overall attitude is one where they are doing you the favor. Not accommodating on late checkouts either, even after they check you in late.
Nice quiet place with Ocean views (no Ocean beach access). Loved the BBQ grills and Pools. We booked a 2-bed (attached) villas the interior amenities were good. Neighborhood is nice and quiet with lots of evening walk options. One thing that my Teen kids complained - no Netflix or Prime or Vudu sign-in on the LG TV or DVD player. So we could not do a family movie night.
We really enjoyed our stay!
Amazing views and staff was courteous!
nice
I did not use much of the facilities as this was a work trip, but the rooms were nice and clean.
My room wasn't ready at check in time. I came back an hour later and it still wasn't ready
The place was under staffed. Geese in the pool and feces everywhere. No house keeping. Restaurants had limited menu and hours. Horrible experience. They charged top dollar for There rooms.
Beautiful property, serene, and quiet. Very impressed with the villas and the kitchen set up. Loved walking to willy’s beach. The restaurant was ok, resort prices but not particularly fantastic food. Drinks very tasty! Would definitely stay here again!
The restaurant closes @ 7 pm otherwise We enjoyed our stay . I will recommend to family and friends. We will book again when we’ll visit Kauai.
Gorgeous property- the villas themselves and the grounds. Princeville is heavenly and the resort is Only a 5 minute drive from Hanalei. Having a full kitchen and laundry in our unit were nice perks! Wish the on-site restaurant stayed open later than 7pm and that the bar was available. Beyond that, appreciate that staff went above and beyond to accommodate requests. We will definitely return.
It was a just day visit to garden isle. Checking in at Westin Princeville was a worth.
Property was good, the rooms were nice and staff was very cordial. The Market breakfast is limited and the only restaurant closes at 7pm, so a bit early I would say.
The studio was very good an nice located
Great for kids, but ....
the place is pretty good if you are coming with kids. pool area is great and walking distance to a nice beach. BUT be prepared to do a lot of cooking. the only res on the site closes at 7PM (!) which basically means you have to get in line at 6pm, to secure a spot. the other option is to get into the car and fight for a spot in one of the rest in Hanalei, which most does not take reservations. staff was friendly
Everything was awesome!
Our suite was great for a family of 4 with young kids. We loved the pools. The front desk staff and service were excellent. Restaurant staff was hit and miss. More restaurants or menu variety would make this a perfect place to stay. Grounds keeping had a hard time keeping up the cleaning on walkways given all the birds.
Great customer service but they didn’t give us the view i was promised and Expedia didn’t help at all. I’m using apple vacation next time. I spend too much with Expedia to receive the lack level customer service i experienced
Excellent
This was a third hotel we stayed on our trip to Kauai, while the previous two expensive hotels were hit and miss, Westin delivered on all it's promises. The studio room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The property is beautiful and doesn't feel crowded, staff makes you feel welcome. We truly enjoyed our stay and would spend our whole vacation here if we come again to Kauai.
Beautiful place, island, people
We have been majorly shafted 1 - forced to check in twice and each time took 25 mins 2 - room was loud and noisy - there were loud noises of systems nearby defeating area experience - for the second check in we explained this to the front staff yet they put us in the same space 3 - the hotel restaurant opens from 11am meaning you cannot enjoy a breakfast until late and they shut at 7pm so the place is dead - this is def not a resort type experience feels rather dead and downbeat 4 - the room we booked was not available and not as per what we paid or booked - we were moved to a far facing building Horrible experience and we are stuck for several more days - def book the grand Hyatt or one of the boutique experiences - not worth the premium
Great place to stay. We will go back
Bring back housekeeping!
Fabulous room with great amenities and the most comfortable bed. Disappointed that there was no housekeeping available during our four night stay. The room was clean but the floor was not.
We loved the setting and presentation. However, each night we found that the AC blew right in our faces and we either we too hot or too cold.
Some kind of scam
Reception staff made me book and pay for 2 different rooms because they said the computer system could not modify reservations on their side. So I've payed double what it should cost. I have proof of this from Hotel.com and nobody is helping me to get a fair refund because everything is automated without human service.
The property was clean, but limited dining options.
