Everything was perfect 👌 👍
Best on the West!
I love this westside hotel! Friendly and helpful staff, walking distance to everything you would need.
Love the West Kauai Inn! The staff are great. Property is in a great location. It was quiet and very walkable to Waimea stores and eateries. Enjoyed my stay and will be back!
The room was spacious, clean, large mini fridge, plus microwave and sink. Bathroom was very nice and large. Full bath and shower. We were very impressed. Staff was informative and thorough. The bed was honestly the most comfortable bed we’ve slept on while away from home. We’ve stayed at in many high end hotels, and this was the best sleep by far. Mahalo.
Comfortable and Clean
Staff was very helpful. Hotel was comfortable and clean
nice stay, love the snacks they left for us, did not love that the 3 nights we were there room service did not show up or ask if we needed any towels or anything but for the most part very pleasant stay and convenient. Also thought it was a bit overpriced, $300 the night was a bit too much for not having pool and other amenities. Something i did love was the communication with the person i booked was pretty on point until the check in process, loved that texting was with fast response. Love the vintage old town feel… i would visit again! Overall pretty good experience.
Ok for what I paid, decor need to be revamp /patio table served as dinnette table ...needed some type of chair/couch or something other than the bed to sit in the room. Patio was good fit. Hotel contact and direct text messages on point.
Nice location. Very short stay, night. Only issue was the coffee maker didn’t work, boohoo for me ha ha. Otherwise thumbs up. Shannon very helpful
A real find, close to the Waimea Canyon roads. An older motor court motel, welcoming and nicely updated. Clean, quiet, with balconies and great local advice. Wi-fi, small kitchen and keyless door lock you won't forget.
Clean, welcoming room with kitchen facilities and in-housewasher/drier. They even supplied the detergent! I would love to go there again.
very good
This place is awesome!! They’re close to the beach, access to local restaurants that are tasty, and the room itself was nicer than the website suggested. Totally recommend and would go back.
I was impressed. Check-in was quick and easy. I had a 2-bedroom suite. Nice and spacious. Everything was clean and well-kept, if not new. Kitchen was well-equipped. AC was nice and cold. Washer and dryer available downstairs. The unit was set back on the property so it was very private. Would definitely stay here again!
it fit my what I was looking for.. price and solitude. what I didn't like was the adjoining door. It allowed noise to be easily transmitted from the next room.
Waimea is a very quiet, laid back, "old school" country style town so you need to keep that in mind when creating expectations for a stay in this area. The property appeared to be well maintained and recently updated. Our room was clean, had a nice welcome basket and tiny kitchenette and worked well enough for just resting our heads. Rooms are cleaned only twice a week according to their directions but sadly no one came to clean our room on the designated day. We took out our own trash but didnt have clean towels after a few days which was disappointing. There are coin operated washers and dryers on property but be prepared with your own quarters. It costs $2 for each machine. Management was rarely on property when we were there but you could reach someone by phone if you needed to talk to someone. Our window a/c unit cooled our room just fine but it did take a few days to get used to the sound of it turning on and off in the middle of the night. There were several places to eat within walking distance amd two grocery stores also nearby. Overall, this place worked for our basic needs.
Everything was good and fun!
I like the good communication from the ordering of the reservation. Staff is very friendly, helpful and very knowledgable of the Island and surroundings. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, we liked the lenai to sit, feel the breeze and relax. the walk to the pier was very close and the gorgeous sunset was the best ive ever seen while standing on the pier. Great experience, we recommend this hotel for a comfortable close stay. Thanks again.
Cozy, clean, convenient, cute
The cozy room that my family and I stayed in came with 2 comfortable double beds, nice cold ac, free parking, big tv, kitchen with dishes, sink, and a microwave. I loved the location because we took a boat tour of the Na Pali Coast from the Kikiaola Boat Harbor located only a few minutes away. The Waimea Canyon was also conviniently located. This hotel is located in the cute town of Waimea. We were lucky enough to attend the Art Night in Hanapepe located in the next town, which occurs every Friday. When on vacation, we don't usually stay in resorts because we only use the room to wind down and get ready for our next adventure for the following day. So I have to mention that if you love hot steamy showers like me, be aware that AT NIGHT the water doesn't get really hot. It only gets warmat night. I know this because i also took a shower in the afternoon after the boat trip and the water got really hot, how I like it. Another detail I'd like to mention are the walls are thin. Our neighbors were blasting their music, but had the courtesy of turning it off before it got late. Other than that, if you like a cute cozy clean hotel in a cute town and convenient location next to the boat harbor and Waimea Canyon, then this is the hotel for you. It's not a resort and not a shabby motel. This hotel/ motel still exceeds expectations. I would definitely stay here again. Love it!!
This was such a pleasant stay at Kaua’i West Inn for us in Waimea! I had no idea that this was here before (as I frequent Kaua’i pretty often!) and I would gladly book again. I loved how clean the rooms where, and stocked with all the necessities one might need while traveling and how close everything was walking-distance! Mahalo for the hotel accommodation
They charged me an extra $400 and I didn't know why. the place is not clean I stayed a week and they didn't clean until I asked them to.
Everything was good.
Thumbs Up
The pillows were a little uncomfortable but other than that I would definitely stay here again! It was cute and had great amenities
My 3 girl friends and I spent 3 nights at this hotel during our trips. The manager Oscar went above and beyond during our stay. We got here with many suitcases, and the hotel only has stairs. Oscar was determined to get us the best parking spot right next to the staircase. That really saved us a trip, since we were all tired from our flight. The next day, one of my friends got injured on a hike. After learning it in a causal conversion at the parking lot, Oscar went to his office and got her some medicine. Even though my friend’s ankle didn’t heal over night, it definitely had helped her survive for the rest of the trip. Our amazing stay with Oscar was topped off with the town celebration event. Oscar accommodated us from start to finish- getting us drinks from secret menu and helping us make friends with the locals. We truly had a blast at the event. We hit so many problems in this journey, and the most heartwarming experience was when Oscar showed up when my friend lost her wallet. My friend was devastated when she found out she lost her wallet at 12am. We ran downstairs to look for her wallet in the car. Oscar, on a duty, approached us and helped us with the search. He went out of his way to call the shop that we might left it at. The next day after we checked out, he even called us to follow up. We are so grateful to meet Oscar. He was a highlight to our stay. Plus, the hotel was clean and spacious enough for 4 adults. Who can ask for more.
Great Location in Waimea
Waimea is very walkable, and this hotel was located right in the center of it, across the street from the theatre, a block from JoJo's and restaurants. Staff are friendly and happy to provide suggestions/recommendations. Rooms have kitchenettes, great water pressure, beds could be more comfortable though. Very satisfied with out stay.
SE Location excellent access to canyon views
Nice room, especially for the price as compared to resorts we stayed in before and after. Several good food options within walking distance. Especially recommend eating at Wrangler only 1 block walking. Location is good to see the canyons area and SW side of the island.
Very close to canyon. The room is clean and big. Friendly owner and very accommodating for our requests. 2 improvements needed. 1. WIFI is slow, very slow. Unable to use sometimes. 2. AC is too loud, cannot sleep with it on and if turn of off, it’s too hot.
This is a little gem. It was very clean and spacious. Ample parking, right below our room. The windows opened onto a beautiful grove of trees. WiFi worked great, we were able to connect our chromecast and stream. It's towards one end of the island, so other places are a bit farther away; waimea canyon is conveniently close.
Other Then the price this was an excellent place to stay
Staff were great!
This is a locally owned, old fashioned (in a good way) inn that reminded me of road trip places we stayed as a family when I was a child. It is clean, well equipped with a nice kitchenette, and absolutely walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops on the main street in Waimea. We decided to stay here for one night after touring the Waimea Canyon area before a very early check in to a catamaran tour of the Na Pali coast leaving from Port Allen (Eleele) the next day. We had a fun dinner in town and an overall great stay.
Cleanliness of rooms and friendly staff. Oscar was easily accessible and willing to make sure that we had all of the amenities that we needed
Absolutely love the location of the inn, and the friendly staff. Room was spacious and had everything we needed. Looking forward to staying here during my next trip to Kaua'i.
Simple accommodations with super friendly staff. Movie house right across the street and shave ice just steps away. I perfect place to stay if you have reservations for a boat tour early the next morning.
Quiet, if I do come back for a return stay, I would request to be away from the road if available.
Good Place to Stay
Hotel check in went well. Room was clean and comfortable with access to Wi-Fi. Appreciated the microwave and refrigerator. Since I was there on business, I would have appreciate a desk and chair located near an electrical outlet.
Super friendly boss, he broke his dinner for checking us in
Loved this place!
Lovely inn -- thoughtfully designed rooms, well equipped kitchenette, nice bath, everything very nicely appointed. Super comfortable bed.
Loved the location on Main Street of a small town, near the town pier and captain Cook. Near to two grocery stores. Small eating places. No fancy restaurants in town. Hotel had all amenities we needed, including a kitchenette. Could use more clothes hanging space however.
Great job meeting needs.
The host was so very hospitable and friendly. We were warmly greeted and taken good care of. Our needs were well met. The room had plates, silverware, dish soap and a clean sponge. This detail was great considering our plan to reheat leftovers for dinner one night. That was perfect. The only reason I didn't give this a stay the highest rating is because little odd things in the room weren't finished. The mirror behins the sink wasn't attached to the wall but just resting on the counter. It didn't affect our needs but was odd.
it was very handy to most every thing was very reasonable
Well located for hiking the canyon.
The West Inn Kauai was a perfect spot for Waimea Canyon.
Everything you need in a hotel and more! Highly recommend!
Surprisingly clean and spacious. It’s obviously very well managed and very much impressed us - a couple of very frequent travelers.
West is best!
Awesome, awesome stay on the westside !! Walking distance to everything! Bank, store, shops, restaurants community pool, beach and even movie theater! One of the hotel’s worker, Jade was awesome, extremely helpful! Will definitely stay again!
Over pricy
Super comfortable bed, nice little kitchenette area with a tall fridge, I will stay here again
Excellent
Excellent welcome a d attention..will retymurn a d share the word.
Clean, good location and staff helpful. Good wifi and tv channo
Highly Recommended
Because we were staying over a week, they upgraded us to a one bedroom suite. It was spacious, comfortable, secure, quiet, and very conveniently located. The kitchenette was nicely stocked with cookware, utensils, and even some basic pantry items. As an added bonus, there's a washer and dryer so we could get laundry done. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a very short walk to the beach to watch the sunset over Ni'ihau, shop in Waimea, or dine at The Wrangler. This was our home base for exploring all the wonders of South Kaua'i and it suited us perfectly. We highly recommend The West Inn!
Convenient hotel in a great area
This hotel is in a great area. Right off the Main Street in Waimea. Close to the beach, fishing pier, restaurants, and markets. If you plan to stay in the Waimea area this is the best option. Word to the wise: Don’t stay in room 8. It’s very close to the office/lobby. The hours say it’s open from 11-6PM but trust me you will hear noises until 2-3AM. The office manager actually lives in the building which may be the reason why we heard conversations until early hours of the morning. We actually had to buy ear plugs to get through the night. Other than that this is a great hotel, great location, awesome amenities (laundry/bbq/kitchenette), and friendly staff.
Basic hotel room. Raging domestic fight next door (so not hotel's fault) but kept us up half the night and thinking we might need to call police. We thought there would be a courtyard to hang out in, but it was just a parking lot.
Definitely not the Westin, but not a bad place.
We rented a suite. It was really a dated old apartment with thin walls. The people in the unit next door were talking normally and it sounded like they were in our unit with us. Our balcony view was of one of the neighboring houses with all of their side yard clutter, kids toys, car tires, washer dryer, and broken down car missing a wheel. On the flip side, the staff was super friendly, and it was a very short walk to Porky's (amazing food truck), and a number of stores and restaurants. They also gave us a really nice set of complimentary food, candy, and coffee upon arrival. In short, don't for a minute confuse this with a resort. If you're looking for a reasonably quiet and affordable place to stay, it's a solid choice.
The suite was really nice with equipped kitchen. Oskar, the manager was nice and kind.
It was located within minutes walking distance to cute little eateries and touristy shops. There is a theater directly across the street that hosts special events throughout the year. For times when there isn't anything special going on, they usually have one movie showing each night. I think it's convenient location on that side of the island makes it a good choice. Parking is sufficient. Noise not a factor. Not really in the "beach resort" category, but holds its own against other "motels" in the area.
No complaints. Very clean hotel and perfect getaway.
The room has a large balkony, where you can take your self-made breakfast with kauai coffee. Large room with high quality of anemities (marmor in bath and kitchenette). The room was near the mainstreet and a bit loud because of the traffic. That didn't matter.
Very homely feeling. We enjoyed the space and comfort and the morning view from the windows.
Great place to stay while in Kauai, places to eat and shop, things to do even a cute little movie theatre across the street.
Great Job!
Excellent customer service and very very friendly staff on standby for anything you need.
Moderately priced, small-town feel, a little dated
We liked this hotel. They use key codes instead of cards, that was convenient. It was close to everything in Waimea and only a 20 minute drive from some of the more touristy spots in Kauai. The kitchen area is set up perfectly for bringing your own food. The owner was very pleasant. There is a swamp cooler that keeps the room pretty cool. The ocean is close, nice to sit on balcony and watch the waves. The only complaints I have are that the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the room was more expensive then I felt like it should have been for the quality.
OK hotel, close to Waimea Canyon
Room was clean but had the smell of an old hotel. Room only cleaned about twice a week. Town closes down at 8pm. Don't turn off the AC unless you want to hear roosters all night long.
Perfect place to stay if you wanna surf at Pakala
The room was super clean and came with all the things you need (ex. microwave, fridge etc).
West Inn Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii
This facility is an ideal place to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying some peace and quiet. The room was clean with some nice amenities and the setting was really conducive to relaxing and getting some peace and quiet!
Minimiim conditions and vedy expensive. No pool. Soft bed. Basic room
Decent
There was a fake Jacuzzi in our bathroom. Other than that, the hotel was good, clean, rooms were big enough and worth of a recommendation. However, if you have big luggage, there is not elevator or ramp to the second floor. So it can be tiresome.
Good but needs new beds.
Good points - great host -Oscar; Also compared to other places in kauai the price was ok. We liked the location. What we didn't like was the beds - way too soft and you just roll into the middle - and also that you had to wait a long time to get hot water. Like 10 minutes. If beds were replaced I would rate this place higher for comfort
Great little hotel outside the tourist towns!
Had a great stay with trheesd guys this month for a well needed week of r and r! Good rooms for the price and close to a few shopping centers as well as a pier about 500 ft away!
Great little getaway!
Loved this hotel and the very friendly staff. Oscar definitely made us feel welcome and showed us great island hospitality! Would definitely stay here again.
Conference
The staff at West Inn were very friendly and helpful. My first trip to the Islands and it was restful and informative, as I was attending a conference in Koloa,
Nice hotel in a sweet, small town near Kokee
Basic, functional, clean. Friendly manager and staff. Not fancy, your basic room, but very clean, spacious. Fine for what it is. Great location for hiking Kokee and Waimea, and exploring this part of the Island.
Not worth the price
This hotel almost as expensive as the resorts and did not deliver - although one block from the ocean it is on a busy street and we heard traffic from our room all night long. The room did not have a hair dryer available and when we tried to phone the manager and request one, they were not available.
Great room and staff
Noise level unacceptable, don’t expect hot water, patio in direct sun, walls paper thin. Upside staff friendly, room clean, air conditioner quiet, room very nice
A surprising gem of a find.
Not to be confused with the WESTIN hotel chain, this small hotel is the only hotel we could find on the far west end of the island close to the canyons and boat excursions to avoid an early morning drive from the 'big" city. We were pleasantly surprised to find this gem with new/ remodeled rooms, clean, good ac. Would recommend this for those wanting to be close to Napoli and canyon tours.
