Great hotel, great location, def recommend
Very cute hotel. Small but personable in an excellent location. The room was very comfortable and the staff was pleasant and helpful. Would recommend highly.
A lovely short stay
Very nicely run, small and accomadating.
The hotel was bright and the room was comfortable
Rooms were a little small but the location and staff were nice.
Great location and comfortable bed
Great location. Walking distance to a number of attractions. The hotel was clean and comfortable, eco friendly. A little surprise to find a clean but torn towel. Hotel replaced with clean towel the next day
Nice hotel, great staff but room is just ok. Small and nothing special
Very expensive. Hotel probably gets kickback from taxi scam. I chose hotel because of elevator but still had to carry luggage up and down stairs. Not recommended. Americans should avoid Amsterdam taxis because of the constant scamming of English speakers.
Loved the area we stayed in. Super convenient, close to shops and great restaurants. Hotels in Amsterdam are quite expensive, but this was reasonably affordable compared to other places. Staff were nice and the hotel in general was completely quite at night time and not filled with backpackers.
Convenient location, great staff
Located in the Canal district on a canal, which is a. Charming area. Our room overlooked the canal. There is a lift or a very steep staircase. Breakfast was simple but nice in a very pleasant area. Helpful staff. Could walk everywhere from here.
This is nice, comfortable place to stay. The room had sufficient space for 2 large suitcases to sit and still be able to move around. Beds were comfortable and bathroom is not too small. The hotel is 2 old buildings joined together - there is an elevator that is in one side of the building but if your room is on the right side of the building you need to maneuver up and down some steep stairs after taking the elevator to your floor.
Terrible service at the reception. The receptionist got mad and insulting because I insisted on finding a way to store my bike on the property for the night. Instead, they proposed a concierge service to store the bike at the train station for 40€, So we just left. Pathetic experience.
The hotel is on the Gentleman’s Canal! Amsterdams fanciest!!! It’s very close to the Dam and Jordaan. It’s only 2 tram stops to the central train station. Lots of cute cafes and shops in the area.
Situation was quiet but convenient. Reception staff not always personable & helpful. Housekeeping inconsistent- on occasion cups not washed, beds not made. Continental breakfast usually good but on our last morning we had to wait 10 minutes for bananas & croissants. Would we return - probably!
This hotel is wonderful, in a lovely part of the city away from busy streets, close enough to points of interest. Room is clean, spacious with 2 levels - perfect for a family. Comfortable beds, all of the amenities you need. Staff are friendly and helpful
We had great interactions with the staff and it was a lovely property
Great place to stay
Comfortable bed in heart of where we wanted to be in Amsterdam at a good price. Quiet and safe.
The room i was provided with was extremely loud from souroundings and upper floors. Impossible to sleep.
Quiet and comfortable hotel. Clean and friendly staff.
They gave us basement room which was not what hotels.com had reserved and they charged us 900Euro instead of their own rate of 175Euro per night. The manager lady was very rude and abrupt. The basement room was not what hotels.com category reserved we felt totally cheated
Great small Hotel in the heart of Old Amsterdam. Location is Excellent. Had room on 5th Floor and had a little challenge with luggage , but the area and location was well worth it.
Quaint Small Hotel in the heart of Amsterdam , right on a Canal. Great location 5 minute walk to Anne Frank House , 5 minute walk to Dam Square and 15 minute walk to Central Station. Location is Excellent , surrounding area is wonderful . The building is centuries old and in very good shape. Highly Recommend.
Convenient location for walking through Amsterdam.
This hotel was fine for a quick weekend trip. It was definitely not the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It wasn’t dirty, but you could tell attention to deep cleaning wasn’t there (even in the hallways and lobby), which is what I want in a hotel. The rooms are very small, but that’s to be expected in Europe. The shower was amazing with great water pressure. The location is really what makes this hotel. This is the part of Amsterdam you want to stay in near Jordaan. It’s away from the touristy parts and is so walkable to amazing restaurants and shopping. I think there’s probably better hotels you can get in Jordaan if you book earlier, but if you’re struggling to pick one this is a fine option.
.
Great place to stay!
Loved our stay at The Times Hotel. The location was perfect- easy walks to all the sites and fantastic restaurants. The hotel is super cute, clean rooms with comfy beds, and friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again!
Great location, nice service clean and comfortable
The sound proofing was not adequate. Could not sleep due to hearing noises throughout the hotel. Could hear other guests walking around, in the kitchen at night and exterior hotel doors opening and closing all night. Felt like staying in a hostel
Fabulous location. Walkable to everything!
Perfect location in a charming area on the canal. Very walk able to everywhere we needed to be. Rooms clean. Staff very friendly.
Charming, 17th century building overlooking a quiet canal. Just blocks from Centraal Station.
Nice room looking out to canals
Really nice room looking over a canal. Clean, comfortable. Nice breakfast. Great service.
Lovely place to stay in Amsterdam!
Nice stay
Small room, but cozy, bed was comfy, bathroom was actually decent size considering room size, elevator but then small narrow stairs to get to room would be difficult for less mobile person. Friendly staff. Would recommend near lots of stuff.
Great hotel with a very convenient location. We stayed for one night and everything was perfect.
Loved it! Great location.
Great Hotel
Great boutique hotel right on the canal
Location was prime and the hotel was very well designed. Cozy and nice.
This hotel doesn’t have parking and they introduced a man to take my car to a parking for 40 Euros per day. But unfortunately during the 2 days they kept my car, they were using and driving by my car.
Clean with helpful staff.
Near Central station
Very small room and limited breakfast options, despite being fairly expensive. Good location, pretty good service otherwise.
Location
Lovely small boutique hotel, helpful friendly staff, room immaculate.
Great location
Great location
The property was very nice and clean, however the room was narrow and small. So we had 2 suitcases and there was not much space to have them open. Generallly it is recommended as it is very close to the center and it is a nice cozy place.
The rooms are very small. The hotel is noisy, do. It the expect to get any sleep if your room is on the second floor. You can hear everything going on in the lobby and neighboring rooms.
Welcoming, Will come back again
Very well maintained, clean, tidy, friendly and quiet hotel. We were in the front attic rooms at the top which had only a cupboard and a very short hanging rail, no chair, table or bed head as the bed was up against the sloping roof so nowhere really to sit for any time. Other rooms I think may be better. Breakfast was good value although limited in choice, but the choice suited us! Good value for money overall and would stay here again, but probably avoid the front attic rooms!
Beautiful hotel
Amazing hotel, in the ideal location of Amsterdam. Clean, tidy and lovely estetic. Staff were very friendly.
Noisy
The hotel itself, customer service (during the day), and location were all excellent. The room was small, and a bit outdated, but it met our needs. Overall, it's a great space and they were very accommodating at storing our luggage before and after check-out. However, we were unable to sleep due to the noise. Our room was just a few steps from the lobby, and the night staff was hanging out with what I assume was a group of guests, and they were being SO loud (including the staff). I finally got up around 3 am to ask them to lower the volume. Even after that, it took a while for the noise to die down. I've seen other reviews mention the noise in these rooms (and how loud the night staff conversations are), so it seems like it's an ongoing issue. We would not stay here again. Perhaps if we had been on a higher floor, our experience may have been better.
Great location
Super location, nice hotel. Rooms were fine, though the bedding was a little too light. A refill on coffee / milk each day would have been appreciated, though was supplied when asked.
The Times Hotel was about 1/2 mile walk from Central Station. We were able to book a room overlooking one of the canals. It was a short walk to the Anne Frank Annex and local eateries. The Times Hotel is very strict on their reservation policy and refused to change our reservation by one day. If there is any question in your dates there, buy the refundable option or Hotel Booking Protection.
Wonderful hotel
Great location. Nice design. Friendly staff.
Good location, but our room was too close to the lobby which made sleeping very difficult. Overall the room was clean and cozy but our shower was mouldy which was off putting. Staff were friendly and held our bags after checkout which was really helpful.
The staff were excellent
Such a cute place, comfortable, romantic, and well designed, with great service and a great location — but BEWARE!! The rooms are SUPER tiny and there are a lot of stairs that are unavoidable on the ways to most of the rooms. If you have mobility issues or can’t haul your luggage up stairwells by yourself, definitely look elsewhere.
Good location. Coffee shop next door very nice.
The room was small but comfortable. Beds were excellent. AC worked perfectly and there was a window which opened as well. The shower was very nice, room was spotless. The location is wonderful.
We booked this hotel as it advertised an elevator and didn’t want to use the small stairs. The hotel has an elevator but unfortunately our room was not accessible by the elevator and we had to walk down 4 steps then up about 15 steps on a narrow spiral staircase. Not fun with luggage.
Narrow house by canal side.
Hotel is lovely. Short walking distance from the station. Even though there's a lift, you still need to walk few very steep stairs up or down before you get to your room. So avoid taking big and/or heavy suitcases. This is due to the strict rules governing the old listed narrow houses that line the canals. Great location and modern facilities.
The location was great and easy to access all the local attractions. The hotel was quirky with some step stairs, but they didn't cause a porblem.
Great spot in Amsterdam
The hotel is adorable and in a great location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I had several requests and they were always accommodating. The room was well furnished but a little small. I'm used to small in European hotels, so this wasn't a big issue, but it could be difficult to navigate for more than one person. My only small issue is that it wasn't clear how the breakfast reservation system worked from day to day. However, they adapted to my misunderstanding so it wasn't a big issue.
Great comfy beds and awesome staff. Good location as well
Fantastic stay, great hotel. Stairs to get to the room are terrifying, but doable.
Great place to stay by the canal. The Centraal Station is an easy 10 min walk. Plenty of eateries close by and most attractions are within walking distance. The breakfast is rather basic would suggest getting it outside. If you get the downstairs rooms know that they are not entirely sound proof. Night staff talking can be heard in your room. Otherwise, highly recommended. Good location and friendly and helpful staff on site.
Nice hotel for a few nights.
The view over the canal was beautiful. The view and location are obviously why the room was so expensive. The room itself was very small. One chair for two of us and no desk. There was only enough room in the room to walk around the bed. Mini-refrigerator was nice.
Staff were extremely helpful, great location, rooms are a little small, but very clean
The Times was a perfect 'home base' for our three-day weekend in Amsterdam — chic and well presented, but nothing too fancy or over-the-top amenities that we weren’t going to use anyway (there’s too much do do out in the city!) We had a room on the 4th floor, at the back of the property, and it was so quiet and sheltered, with great air-conditioning and good natural lighting, so we slept very well. The location couldn't have been better — easily walkable to all the cool cafes, bars, restaurants, shops etc. and convenient to pop in and out throughout the day, but far enough away from the red light district that we didn't feel like we were in the middle of the party. Checkin/out was super easy, and though we were traveling light we still appreciated having an elevator.
The Times Hotel was charming and quaint! Great location on the canal! Great location to walk to restaurants, museum, the Dam….. staff was lovely!
Great hotel in a very good location
Comfy, on the Herengract canal. As we later learned on a city tour, older houses in Amsterdam frequently have narrow, twisted staircases. The hotel has that in spades! We were unable to navigate them with our luggage and had to ask for a different room than the one they initially gave us. Once that was settled we had a very pleasant stay. Staff was friendly and courteous
Excellent stay!
Clean well run property!
Very small rooms…maybe in Amsterdam are small rooms. Everything else was perfect…
Canal Views
We loved our stay at The Times Hotel. The views over the canal were absolutely stunning and I loved the smaller size of the property. The rooms like most hotels in Europe aren’t huge, but it also felt like an authentic experience sleeping in a canal house. The hotel is in a quieter location, but still in the heart of Amsterdam. I would book again if we found ourself in the city.
Great location within walking distance to Centraal station, close to many food options, red light dist., Anne Frank House, and other fun things. I would recommend to others and stay here again.
Perfect location - close to everything but still quiet. Beautiful room decoration . Friendly, helpful staff. Would recommend to friends and family!
Perfect spot in Amsterdam. Really nice hotel and staff. Stayed with my husband and our 12 years old son. We had the room just in front of the canal. Couldn’t be better. Lots of options to eat, grab a coffee, have breakfast, lunch, diner. Close to many interesting things to visit.
Staff was very helpful! Our room had a beautiful view of the canal.
A wonderful hotel and staff was very helpful and friendly.
Family
The hotel is beautiful & clean. Staffs are helpful & friendly. Love the location.
Very friendly staff and cosy room. Modern, well decorated and pleasantly functional.
Fantastic location. Beautiful hotel. Would highly recommend.
I loved how quiet the neighborhood was. Beautiful canal view. Friendly staff! Conveniently located to walk everywhere in Amsterdam.
Great location not too far from the buzzy center, but far enough to be quiet at night. Staff was excellent especially Gabriella. All requests were met with smiles and the wish to help.
Great spot, Nice area, friendly staff and good facilities.
In between Jordaan and the red light district. Easy access to restaurants and the center of everywhere.
Noisy but lovely boutique hotel
Loved this hotel and its location is just perfect. Close to the Nine Streets in Amsterdam. Lots of good food and shops and easy to get to the centre of Amsterdam and the tourist sights. Unfortunately, our room was very close to the foyer and there was a lot of sound in the evening and the morning. We used earplugs, but if we hadn't, we wouldn't have slept well. Otherwise the hotel was great, the staff friendly and the location amazing.
Will only stay here from now on!
I will absolutely stay here again. The staff were so kind and welcoming-- they all knew me by name after I checked in. The location is in a lovely neighborhood and near restaurants and shopping. It's a quick 10 minute walk from the train station too. The breakfast is great value for money. I slept well every night and had zero noise issues-- it's on a tranquil street.
We met several different people at the front desk during our stay and they were ALL amazing! They made us feel very welcomed and completely at ease being in a foreign city. Whatever the question, they were able to help with clear answers, directions, and wonderful suggestions. Myrabel and Barca were two of our favorite places! And we loved our cozy, clean room, super comfy bed, updated bathroom, and best of all, a breathtaking view of the canal from our window! Thank you to everyone! I hope we’ll be able to return one day.
Excellent location.
Excellent location. Great front desk staff. Clean but small rooms.
Excellent location and nice people. Just accept there will be stairs, a little noise and smallish rooms.
