Staff were amazing and great with kids

Good cheap place to stay. Drinks were great. Food was good. Pool could have stayed open about later as it shut at 8 but understandable due to rooms around the pool.

This property was in a great location, the staff were very friendly, and the pool was nice and cool. The only down side to the pool was it was literally at the door steps of guests rooms, so you felt awkward swimming infront of their front doors.

Love that the hotel is within walking distance to lots of eating places and shopping, my only complaint is bathroom is a bit small, but how long do you spend in there 🙂

The main thing that detracted from the hotel was there really isn't much common area around the pool.

Staff were very good , even with difficult people

Disappointed in the pool area. Nowhere to relax in the sun. Rooms adjoining were too close to the pool. Surrounded by their private chairs & tables. My room smelt fusty and damp. Staff were very nice & friendly.

Room constantly smelt like sewerage, toilet only flushed half the time. Kettle took at least 10 minutes to boil. Air conditioning filter was filthy. Lighting in the room was very dull. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Pay for what you get. Very budget. Rooms tired, cleaning hit n miss. Maintenance needed throughout. Cracks/gaps in the room door, mozzies came in the room easily. Mould on the walls. Breakfast basic, pancakes rock hard & stale.

Absolutely lovely staff who were willing to help us with anything! Great breakfast and cooking class. Beautiful pool but quite shaded so was cold, and simple but clean rooms. Convenient location, very close to shopping strips.

The stay in which we moved out early as a result of one of there drivers causing my partner to fall from bike which has badly damaged her leg with more of a review when we get home we asked for the video so we could report it and they wouldn’t give it to us it was disgusting how we were treated

The staff at the hotel and in the restaurant were fantastic and were so friendly. The room and hotel it self were not. The room smelled very wet and muggy, the bathroom and shower had black mold, the king bed was two twins pushed together so there was a huge seam down the middle, it was very loud at night and the pool was shaded and also loud.

I have stayed here many times and the staff have always tried to be as helpful and friendly as possible, food is good and the location is fairly central to most places.

Our stay was great Breakfast options weren’t the best tho and the toaster didn’t work we like just a simple breakfast not food that you would eat for dinner time. Overall tho we loved all the staff the hotel is clean and tidy

A well placed and priced Hotel

We found The sun hotel and spa to be a great value hotel. the staff are amazing. The hotel is located in a great central spot and is and easy walk to the beach and plenty of shopping and restaurants. We will be staying there again next trip.

Mr. Soma and his team are the BEST. They will make your stay very enjoyable.

The Spa and spa were great. The front desk was terrible. They locked us out of our room twice during our stay. Linen and towels were not changed daily when asked. Shower was too small and shower curtain was touching us during the shower. Hard water in the shower. Restaurant did not know what an omelette was. AC in room was cold. Pool was nice.

Group of 6 stayed for 10 nights. While it’s quite shabby and needs maintenance it really was value for money. Housekeeping was great, serviced rooms very well. If there was anything wrong, staff were more than happy to fix it. Example aircon wasn’t working properly and it was looked at straight away. Staff were very friendly. The food in the restaurant was ok but we ate out at nearby places often. The entertainment in the bar was great. I would stay here again

Good value, problematic location

Value is the best attribute of this 3 star hotel, constructed about 10 years ago. For a building only 10 years old, you'll notice it's in relatively poor condition. There are some roof leaks in some upper floor hallways, deteriorating paint in many areas, and various (usually minor) plumbing and electrical problems. The hotel had 3 power shutdowns over 2 week period while I was there, lasting about 1-2 hours each. WiFi is average, with occasional slow transfer rates.The hotel is located in a densely populated area with a high-traffic, narrow road as access. It's about a 10 minute walk to the awesome beach. Positives include the helpful staff, elevators, many services close by, and a low-cost (about $4 USD) buffet breakfast.

Awesome hotel if you're on a budget, couldn't fault the place at all, very friendly staff, service was second to none, prime location, excellent amenities, buffet breakfast included in the price 👍 5 mins walk from Legian st, away from all the hustle and bustle, but close enough to all the action, is this hidden little gem of a hotel, furnishings and facade are abit outdated, but the staff, service and location is what it's all about.

My partner and I had to leave a villa in Canggu because of infestations and other poor conditions. The Sun was super affordable and my partner recommended it for the remaining 2 nights. It was close to everything and met our expectations.

Place was good for a place to have a shower before flying out late at night. Place was clean but extremely noisy in hallways. Staff amazing

The location is great but the property itself was very dark, gloomy and incredibly noisy at all hours.

TV poor I had to keep rebooting. Problem with sink drain in the bathroom. After 3 attempts to fix it which failed I asked them to leave it to drain into the bin. They offered a change of room without me asking but I didn’t want the inconvenience. When I removed the doona from it’s cover as it was too warm it was very badly stained. All in all you get what you pay for but I expected better

I never stay here again, it was dirty, urine smell through out room due to always having blocked toilets. Had my sunglasses, samsung air pods & chanel perfume stolen from room. Reported to police. Hotel old. If you stay here LOCK EVERYTHING UP IN YOUR SUITCASES

Very friendly service, close to shopping and beach

Location is stellar to be close but out the way, however hotel is strating to show its age, rooms could do with a revamp, particularly bathrooms.

Other Inconsiderate noisy guests made it a long night

The hotel was very ckean and staff are friendly. The negative was that the hotel was very noisy. You can hear the people in the next room, the room above you when they move the chairs. Would not stay here again, due to the noise factor.

Do not stay in Room 110 - poolside. The sun loungers are close to your room and people sit, chat and party with no consideration of others. They also use your table and chairs and don’t mind scraping them when moving and banging into your windows. Had to ask each day for room to be supplied with towels, water and toilet paper.

This is my second time staying in this hotel. I prefer to stay as to relax for few days before returning home. The hotel staffs are very polite and helpful. They manage to extend my stay for additional 6 hrs before my night flight back to Melbourne, but with a small fee. The rates are reasonable and Affortable as compared to other hotels nearby. Not far to shops and beach. Happy to see many local visitors in this hotel. Will come again when I am back in Bali.

Staff friendly fix issues promptly central location. Breakfast was average selection. Some issues with shower not draining.

Loved the pool. One thing I would say if that the towels were changed everyday. And toilet paper was refilled everyday.

We stayed at The Sun & Spa in 2019/2020 and enjoyed the hotel, this time around 2022/2023 the hotel has become more rundown, definitely not as clean as before, breakfast not as good, with very little choice, everyday the same food, some rooms had large amounts of people in them. Kids in the pool at 7am in the morning, sometimes before this screaming, shouting etc when pool was meant to be closed to later in morning. Bar not manned, and not very well stocked with drinks. It was sad to see as we really enjoyed The Sun & Spa previously and that’s why we returned this year, but unfortunately we will try different hotel for our next stay in Bali. Plus side, our bed and pillows were super comfortable and the room was clean.

The Sun Hotel and Spa is a great place to stay and explore the beauty of Bali. The location is ideal and within walking distance to the beach. However it is the amazing staff that make this place special. Soma at the front desk and his team will go out of their way to make you feel at home.

The air condition was not working in the first night and all day next day and no one did much or offered us a another room. We had to ask them to change our room.

Hidden cost behind everything

It’s really clean place but they have some hidden cost once we book the rooms its shows all included part of room service. Later at the time of vacating room they give extra charges for these service offered. Also they haven’t mentioned that there would be cost for the service when we ask on reception or at the time of check in.

We had room that faced the street and was very noisy. The room was small and the facilities were old. The fridge hardly fitted anything in it. We had ordered a double room but it had 2 single beds pushed together and there was a crack in the middle. We paid way to much for a sub standard room

The Sun Hotel & Spa was overall a great hotel with some of the best staff I have come across with all my holidays in Bali, food at the hotel was delicious everytime we ate there, breakfast was included in our price which for the price was excellent for what we got , it even included free transport from the airport and 4x free massages at their top floor spa. We were a family of four with two teenage girls who both loved the pool along with everything else they had. The hotel is located 1min walk to most markets and restaurants in Legian, and only 10 min walk to Kuta and Seminyak , 3 min walk to beach so handy. Only one little thing, and it’s only a very little recommendation is they should add a few more fans in the main bar area as it was a little sticky when we were sipping back on beers and cocktails with the high humidity. We would definitely highly recommend The Sun Hotel & Spa for a couple or a family.

Nice location and relatively good service. All the staff is friendly. The pool hours could be longer to promote adult swim time late in the evening also the hotel doesn't have a gym. We are uncomfortable because the hotel should require Muslims guest "swimsuits" as appropriate attire for the pool instead of everyday clothing to keep the pool clean, other than the need for maintenance to get rid of some smells in the toilet.

Great staff.. Somar and sudi where so friendly and helpful. The sheets where clean and the floors etc.. but kinda smells damp everywhere.. but so does everything in bali i guess.. overall the sun hotel and spa was great value for money and i hope to stay again..

Wifi useless, breakfast average, ask for Omelette get fried eggs, no spoons ever to Stir coffee. Sent complaint email to hotel early on during stay no response. We won’t be staying there again
