The room was okay and clean. Breakfast buffet was good and staff are friendly.
Clean, quiet, convenient to the Metro, friendly staff, great mattresses
Location wasn’t great even though there is metro nearby. Staff could be more polite.
We enjoyed the hotel. The pool and Cloud 9 restaurant were excellent.
We loved the hotel in general and we would stay again. We paid extra for an Acropolis view room. Yes, we could see the Acropolis from our room, but it was quite a long way off. The 'cost' of booking such a room was that our room overlooked the busy plaza outside and in early March they had not yet made the AC operational. So, our choice was trying to sleep with the balcony door closed and the room being unbearably hot, or with the balcony door open to cool off the room, but the constant and loud traffic noise. Athenian drivers love to use their vehicle horns! A supposed 4 star hotel should make the room heating and cooling available all the time for guests. The breakfast was really, really good. We had dinner our first night on the top floor restaurant (Cloud 9?). Excellent food and we really enjoyed it. Hotel staff were excellent.
Everything was good Staff was excellent
The hotel is very nice and staff are friendly. The location has great access to metro line, but it's not the cleanest part of the city which would affect your first impression. But in our next attempts to explore the area we found some nice local shops and restaurants. Overa we had a pleasant experience.
Stayed 3 nights, very clean and quiet, the breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly. Would stay here again
good stuff good metro connection with metro
The Stanley is a beautiful hotel and what I enjoyed most was the rooftop with a view of acropolis. Unfortunately during my stay there was construction going on which made the building very noisy but also limited the use of elevators and with everyone trying to go to the lobby and rooftop from different floors, made the elevator very inconvenient. Amenities such as the pool were also closed which was not mentioned upon booking. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room itself was quite nice. The breakfast also had a great variety with good hours. The subway station is a 1 minute walk to the hotel making it very easy and quick to get to the city centre but the neighbourhood near the hotel is not the best to just walk in and explore.
Nice and clean, large continental breakfast, close to restaurants and sites
Room was surrounded noisy teenagers on a field trip.
Ok for price. Would choose another next time.
Lots of construction going on. Only 1 elevator, stairs blocked off for repairs. Pool was out of commision after being told just a few days prior that it was up and running. Very noisy with thin walls and doors as well. Could hear tables and chairs moving all trough the night and early in the morning. If youre goong for the pool, they'll tell you it's open even when its not so be weary of that.
Our room had a balcony with a view of the Acropolis. The subway station was right outside the door and the nearby restaurants were fantastic. The breakfast buffet was the best we've ever had. Excellent value.
Clean, great staff, excellent facilities. It was quite an incredible stay.
all is good, but should avoid rooms on 8th floor
The stuff are very nice, room is clean. But if ur room is on 8th floor, u could not fall in sleep, coz the inside restaurant is on 9th floor, the stuff of restaurant move chairs very very very loud, noisy from schraching floor makes nobody can sleep till 3AM
Terrific hotel, very nice rooms. Excellent restaurant too. Nearby are one or two very good restaurants, and the metro is right outside. This is not located in an exciting part of the city, but it has very fast metro access to all key sites.
1. I liked the convenient location. Steps to subway. 2. I did not like the seasonal heating/AC. I like to be able to turn on AC.
The room is petit
Great service and the staff was very helpful
Decent staying in the heart of Athens
Good staying options in the heart of Athens. During our stay, unfortunately, there were very noisy works undergoing on 2 floors starting from early morning and during the weekend too. The management didn't care about his guests rest, evidently; very bad decision. Apart from that, the room was clean. The breakfast wasn't impressive either, with badly cooked homelettes and scrambled eggs. The hotel though shines for the amazing rooftop pool overlooking the city and the Acropolis. I would definitely recommend to warm up the water A LOT MORE during the winter so it can be used, and keep it open until late. It has a lot of wasted potential as it is.
Professional, knowledgeable but very warm staff. Exceptionally clean facilities. Great location. Great value
.
The guys on reception was so nice and kind. love the hotel and area was perfect, 10seconds to metro station.
The staff were very helpful and service was great. Breakfast had a lot of variety and was great
Great customer service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Athens. I can't wait to return!
Service was great, but area around is pretty shady. The room itself makes the building look like it is coming apart from seams. Eg, cracks along doorway and shower sliding door closes at angle leaving a crack.
Excellent
The view of the Acropolis was stunning at night from the roof top restaurant. The room was surprisingly quiet for the amount of construction going on in the area. The location was filthy. I never knew how dirty Athens is. No one talks about it. I did not feel safe walking around at night. We made sure to be back at the hotel before it got dark. The smell outside was urine and feces everywhere. Gross. I will not return to Athens.
Great location and roof pool with the resturant
This was the perfect hotel for our stay in Athens. The views from the room and at breakfast were incredible. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Perfectly located for the Metro and the hop on hop off bus – the stops were just outside the hotel. There was a short walk to the centre or you could just get the Metro (€1.20 for a 90 minute ride). The breakfast was incredible so much to choose from (and again you could benefit from the views) and the restaurant in the evening was just perfect. Athens itself was an incredible city and we also tried some of the local restaurants in the Square where everybody was so welcoming and kind. Thank you.
Our stay was so amazing with The Stanley. From top notch communication, to check-in process ( our flight was delayed) the staff did their utmost to make sure we were well taken care of, so very welcoming and helpful. There are so many great things about this hotel 1. Rooms- very clean and comfortable 2. Breakfast- most amazing breakfast options. You’ll not leave hungry! 3. Proximity from Metro- like literally downstairs! And this is so helpful if you want to go out and about Last but not least, I would like to thank the entire staff and management. Your hard work and dedication is truly amazing. We will see you soon!!
Excellent views from the roof top bar
This is one of the best properties I’ve ever stayed at. The breakfast is incredible and so are the views We will always stay here when we visit Athens
Just great stay..
All was great..
They have two different restaurants, the first one on the first floor with no views and the second one on the ninth floor with a terrace. The people who did reservations through Expedia will have breakfast on the first floor. I didn't understand why either Expedia or the hotel explained that when I did the reservation. My advice is not book the hotel with Expedia.
The service and food here is amazing! The rooms are clean and the amenities are lovely. The front desk staff are the best!
Great hotel with great breakfast buffet
Nice staff and very clean. Was unable to get the room cooler than 75 F. In December. Too hot for comfortable sleeping.
The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They assisted with transportation arrangement to and from the airport. Information and tours were available at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. It is conveniently located.
.
the braekfast was great. loved the rooftop had a great view.
safe.. easy to find the view is spectacular 👀❤️..definitely i’ll come back 👍
We loved this property and had a great stay!
Front desk
Subway nearby
Hotel staffs were friendly, check in was easy and welcoming. The concierge staff that brought in my luggages was super friendly and provided information needed. I'll stay here again if i come back to Athens. Only con which is minor is a slight odor from the bathroom. Thank you for a great stay
My cousins and I stayed for 1 night and upon check in, the lobby was quite busy. Seemed like there was a large group checking in, but we could tell it was a very popular hotel. I wasn't able to stay for the breakfast buffet, but my cousins said it was great! They got to enjoy the rooftop for a bit and said it was beautiful up there. As for our room, there were 3 of us to a room. I thought I booked a larger room for us, but perhaps it was a standard room. For a 4* hotel, i think we were expecting something more on the higher end. But perhaps I was unaware that the 4* actually refers to the amenities. Everything else about the hotel was great and lobby was decorated for Christmas. I think it was mainly the room where we questioned whether it was actually a 4*. It was very small and run down, but it was okay for us staying just the one night. I will say, i was quite pleased with the service in the morning as I needed a taxi to take me to the airport at 4:30am. They had one ready to go (as i asked for one the night before) and the door was open and the cab driver was friendly. I feel like he charged me an extra 10 Euros because when I looked at the meter, it was a different number from what he charged me. I didn't really question it because I was too tired, but i thought that was strange. He altered the meter upon arrival at the airport so that it looked higher than it actually was. I would say be careful with the cabs, and watch the meters and ask for a receipt!
Great value hotel. Very clean, friendly staff, great location. I stay in this hotel every time I visit Athens.
I appreciate the staff's service and guidance. I recommend a stay. I believe I Purchased VIP and did not receive it. I was on the traffic side of the hotel, which made for very noisy.
Friendly stuff, good service
Nice hotel in a great location. 50 feet from metro. Very comfortable stay. Wonderful breakfast. Nice dinner restaurant. Everyone was helpful. Really enjoyed our stay.
Excellent choice. Clean, nice amenities, close to dinning, subway, taxi , safe
Area was very walkable and close to Monastiraki Square. Staff service was not very welcoming but they will try to accommodate.
Some of the best staff I have ever dealt with in my travels. After having my phone and card stolen, the staff did everything they could to help me and make my stay less stressful. I will be coming back to stay next year and hopefully get to see some of the sites.
The hotel ovwrall was lovely. Stayed there in January this year. In a renovated room. This stay was for a relative 60th and they chose the Stanley. The only quarm i would say is the aircon. Its turned off through out the hotel. Now personally that ahould be at customer discretuin. Greece os far from being a cold country. Infact the weather was very mild and pleasant. We couldnt really leave the balcony door open to get some cool air in because on the street level pf the side the room was ob, is a bar, which was loud and busy till gone 3.00. I can sleep ok no problem, but my partner is a very light sleeper. As were the party guests we went with. They all had the same issue. Its totally rude and wro.g to turn off the aircon throughout the hotel. It is very very hot internally , lifts and corridors. Everyome should have a comfortable (temperature wise) clumate im their room. Having said this, overall a pleasent hotel.
Conveniently located next to a metro stop and local shops and restaurants.Pleasant and helpful staff.Good facilities.
Poor Housekeeping cleaning
Poor cleaningless we found hair in the bathtub also on the bedsheets our rokmmhaee been changed after we complained but same situation we found on 2nd attempt lots of hairs on the bed and pillow not sure if they actually changing beds. Hsk knoked on the door early morning although DND sign was in the door. Breakfast was quite good.
Nice hotel
Good clean hotel with perfect breakfast and close to metro station.. - horrible drill every morning
Mostly very good
Great hotel. Great restaurant, great bar, excellent staff with a special shout out for Kleopatra who looked after our group brilliantly. However very disappointed that the supposed heated pool was not heated, then told it was broken and would be fixed during our stay, then found out that wasn’t the case at all…the staff didn’t care at all when asking about this, and it was the reason we selected this hotel.
My son and I stayed here for a week. We were both very impressed with the Hotel. We paid for the Superior Room Acropolis View. Had a great balcony with a great view of the Acropolis. I am an experienced Hilton Diamond Member, and this was a first class experience for us. Additionally, there is a small restaurant called "The Bread Company" just "feet" from the Hotel entrance. Best food ive had in a long time, and cheap. If i go back to Greece, The Stanley is my go to hotel.
Amazing stay at Stanley
Our room was amazing, over looking to acropolis. Large comfortable room Towell and sheets changed every day, complementary drinks. Breakfast with huge variety of food. Staff very helpful and friendly
Very nice Hotel to stay. Near the Martial station
Great place with great views
Great stay. No complaints.
No complaints. Room was just the right size. Bed very comfortable. Nice bathroom with great shower. Staff were very lovely. We had breakfast included. The breakfast buffet was great as well, many options, and slightly different things everyday. The hotel is also right next to the metro which is ideal. You can be in Syntagma Square in less than five minutes.
Excellent place and super Proactive staff
Excellent hotel, roof top pool, bar and restaurant amazing. Staff very friendly and helpful
Goid
Bathroom small and shower leaks, but breakfast was amazing and bed slept well. Room was clean and staff were excellent
Overall really lovely stay. The cleanliness of our room was poor but wasn’t to much of an issue as was out sightseeing for most part of the day. Overall really nice hotel and lovely staff.
The hotel is pretty standard and seems to be in an area with a few hotels, but it is a bit sketchy at night. Although close to the centre, I walked through some very dark areas that seemed questionable, to return to the hotel at night. I book a superior room that was highlighted as being soundproofed with air conditioning. During my stay, I had to request to change rooms as I could not get the air conditioning to work even though there was a thermostat. The girl at the front desk replied that there is central air on my floor and that maybe it was hot because of the afternoon sun. I had to explain that I couldn't sleep at night because it was too hot to sleep. I was (begrudgingly) changed to a room where I could control the temperature in the room. Both rooms were very clean and I found the cleaning staff to be the friendliest of all the staff I interacted with. The breakfast was good, although very repetitive over 4 days. The staff in the restaurant seemed to struggle to keep up with the turnover as they ran out of coffee cups twice while I was there.
I enjoyed every bit of my stay. Metro was just around the corner and the hotel was just right there at the centre so it was easy to explore the city of Athens. The staff were so amazing! I highly recommend!
Area is a bit rough but easy to get around via taxi. My linens were used, I found someone’s eyelash extension in my bed after I already slept in it :( Other than that, staff was great, beautiful view. I wouldn’t suggest the restaurant if you want good food but the drinks were great!
Transport brilliant literally outside metro station. Surrounding side streets a little dark & dodgy but nice little bars with locals drinking. Hotel staff so lovely and the buffet breakfast best I’ve ever had. Served on rooftop restaurant overlooking the acropolis!! Perfect !!
Awesome hotel
Great rooms awesome food and great breakfast
Solo trip: I really enjoyed my experience . Staff was really friendly and really helpful.
Loved It!!!
Nice Hotel. No issues.
The stanley was more than we expected, with easy access to transport, the area it was situated to reach the different site seeing options, the staff were very friendly and even went out if their way to help and assist you with enquiries. The food was exceptional the views from the roof top and even your own room balcony was picturesque, great value for money.
I just did
Rooftop was amazing, bar timings can be extended uptil 2
Ok but not a great area.
Great stay!! Would definitely stay again. The room was clean, and the staff were friendly. Loved the view from the rooftop.
The Stanley is a modern hotel in the center of Athens. Great location with a subway entrance and hop on bus stops. A corner coffee shop offers great morning coffees. The room was nice and quiet despite being next to a bustling traffic roundabout. Shower is odd because of the placement of the faucet. Great breakfast to start the days and amazing view from the rooftop restaurant and bar. Pool is fantastic.
Stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the hotel. A few things keep it from a top rating. Noise in the corridors was loud, the shower temp wouldn’t stay consistent. I was room 555 and had a TINY bathroom and shower with no other mirror apart from over the sink. The area around the hotel isn’t very nice, but a short walk away it is better. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff were lovely. The rooftop area and restaurant were fabulous! I’d stay again but not in that room. Others in my group had much bigger rooms and better showers so perhaps it’s luck of the number. Definitely avoid the 2nd floor though as it’s a corridor to the buffet.
Having just been on a crowded cruise ship, we loved the space, American size rooms and amenities The rooftop was lovely to enjoy the view of history and relax. Paris at the lobby assisted us in every move. Great device, Paris. Thank you
This is a great place to stay if you are not staying at a big hotel chain. Excellent service. Get the Superior room as it includes a better breakfast buffet experience. Two minutes walking to subway! Easy commute to Plaka (must visit) by either subway or 15 minutes walking. The only comment is that they have a streetside cafe/bakery attached to the hotel, but its a separate business so you can not charge purchases made there to your room, a minor inconvenience. We'd stay there again.
The area around the hotel was a bit shaky. There were homeless people on the street.
The property and the amenities at the property were top notch. The staff was top notch. The location of the property was in a not so nice neighborhood. However within about a 5 or 6 block walk, you were in a very nice neighborhood.
Nice view from rooftop
All was Good at the Stanley, room a little tight!
Great location, staff & breakfast. Beautiful inside & rooftop at night
Not in a good area of town and the breakfast was terrible.
Great transport links...... central to all of Athens...... rooftop bar and restaraunt is amazing with great views of the Panthanon and sunset. 😎
Everything was wonderful
Everything was fine. We ate at cloud 9 restaurant and was delicious. Rooms were clean and spacious.
Roof top dining was excellent, food, service and the view
god experience
Rooftop room with wrap-around balcony and spectacular view of the city and the Parthenon. The rooftop restaurant was superb. Too cool to swim in the pool, but on a hot day it would be quite nice.
