Great staff and nice hotel

We had a great 2 night stay at this hotel. It's located on a beautiful beach which overlooks Koh Phangan and Ang Thong Marine park. We could even see our home island of Koh Tao as it was clear skies. Our room (plunge pool room) was very spacious and comfortable, although definitely needed redecorating and is a bit older than another Tolani we have stayed at. But it has a kettle and coffee machine, robes, slippers, umbrellas, black out curtains, TV, bath with jets (good hot water, just slow to run the bath) & large shower, with lots of free toiletries. Staff are super helpful and friendly and very attentive, even came to our car with umbrellas when we arrived at night in the rain. The buffet breakfast was very substantial with a variety of stations providing croissants, pastries, jams, toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, potatoes, cheese, cold cut meats, salad, cereals, yoghurts, fruit, dried fruits, rice, noodles, thai dishes and thai soups. As well as a good coffee machine and selection of teas, cow's milk and fruits juices. Good location for us as we had a car, but there are not many parking spaces, so notify them if bringing a car. A little far from Chaweng or Fisherman's if thats what you want for night life, but if you want a nice peaceful beach holiday, highly recommend this area.

worst hotel experience . Don’t let the photos fool you. Super dirty walls , couch , wallpaper falling of , there is a very intense smell in the room, don’t bother to call for help nobody cares, horrible food and I don’t exaggerate.

Wonderful hotel in a quiet location

We had a fantastic stay and this hotel. The rooms were clean and the views fantastic.the jet bath in the room was incredible.plenty of room for 2 people. The beach was lovely and quiet and the restaurant served fantastic food. The staff we so helpful and friendly.we will definitely stay again if we return to koh samui.

Wonderful staff and great food

We love the hotel staff and their restaurant. We ate there everyday! The spa was nice as well. The hotel is slightly dated and probably needs an update soon, but it was nonetheless comfortable. We had a sea view room and the noise level is not as bad as probably the room facing the street.

If you are booking because of the giant bath tub. You will be disappointed, they never thought to put a big enough water heater for it. I booked for that bath tub. No nice bath for me.:( They said all the baths had the same small water heater.

Excellent Thai Hotel in Koh Samui - great value!

The resort is very nice and the staff are very personable. It’s a small hotel and they make a real effort to make you feel welcome. The staff all say hello every time you see them and are willing to provide advice and help with advice on everything from airport transfers to what to do and see in Koh Samui. The hotel is located right on the beach, but also has a good size pool for those who prefer not to swim in the sea. There is a good selection of drinks and the food at the restaurant is very pleasant. The local Thai dishes are obviously the best priced and also the nicest. We had a plunge pool and it was extremely private. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and great value for money.

Some Nice Touches

Needed a hotel on Samui for one night while waiting to check into our AirBNB. The price was right, and the location was decent. The hotel is small, but they have a handful of nice touches. We were a little disappointed that our room faced a busy road with the only alternative a paid upgrade to an ocean-front, but not a big deal for one night. The food was average and the service as well. All depends on what you're looking for I suppose.

Good vacation if you like noise 24-7

Even there is a amazing beach next to your villa or residence room there is a swimming pool few meter from restaurant and was very much in use from 7 am 50 of in the kids ...so when hotel book try to tell you - have a quiet breakfast if cannot happen ...when talking to the staff nothing actuelly happen same when ask that smokers had to go to the smoking area... nobody apart from reception manager could answer q in English + all staff incl 2 drivers and receptions staff never answer your q. We had made a booking of ONE night first and later before arrival booked another 3 nights. After seen other places with less street noise we really regret that we made extra booking. As a hotel management there are something to control and something you cannot + street noise was 24-7 and hardly be control by hotel b ut other noise like from pax can be controlled. Why is it nessary that swim has been open from 8am + why not after 10 so at least people can have a kind of quiet breakfast. Good news was a fantastick welcome service from driver water and cold tover after just arrival and from hotel the offer free shutte to several places + just bad that driver and staff do NOT speak just a few words English will we come back or NO NO.

Promised much didn't deliver

Very poor breakfast (hot food always tepid. Croissants etc stale. VERY limited choice) Beautiful dining room on the beach. Plunge pool and area was not clean. Room ok although open soap & shampoo bottle in shower on arrival. Pretty much accused of stealing laundry bag from room upon departure!! Didn't actually see a bag or use their laundry service. Staff generally helpful and friendly. The only day we asked to use the kayaks which were FOC, there was a problem. It just seemed to go from bad to worse and we don't feel that it was worth the money. The area was far from anywhere. Free Shuttle bus was very limited and expensive when outside hotel scheduled shuttles.

Not worth the money

After booking months earlier online when we arrived for our honeymoon we were told our room was not avaliable and we would need to stay in another room for 1 night then change rooms again the next day which was a big inconvenience to us. Also the spa in the first room was not working either. The second room faced the front road so was quite noisy at times. The location is too far away from everything so unless you rent a car or bike it will cost you a fortune to get around. The Beach was not good for swimming full of seaweed. This hotel is overpriced for what it is and its location.. the only good thing is its on the beach. Its advertised as a king size bed but all it is is 2 single matresses pushed together sitting on the floor very low not even on a bed frame base which kept coming apart from the centre. its unacceptable for the price. As for the buffet breakfast the hot food (bacon/sausages/ham/rice) was not properly kept hot but virtually cold. This hotel is overpriced for what you get and the massage/spa was so overpriced that we went to another massage spa down the road about 2km for a quater of the price advertised by the hotel When it came time to check out i was charged 400 baht for the mini bar regardless of the fact it was refilled by us. No shuttle/taxi or airport transfer was offered at all. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone else, for the price there is much better places to stay in Koh Samui

Nice hotel, poor facilities

The jacuzzi in our pool villa broke down the next day and we didn't get to use it during our 6 day stay. On our last day the electricity was cut from 8-5pm and it was unbearably hot in the villa with no electricity. Overall I won't recommend this hotel to fellow travellers.

Great stay at the sea resort A*

My stay here was amazing my wife and my son loved it The staff where exceptional I couldn't fit it all in here the good words that I have to say about them. and the hotel was great we had a 2 bedroom apartment, I would and will be going back here again If u are looking to relax them here is great If I want buissy the chaweng is the place for u

Small hotel and near to bench

We booked a 2 bedrooms suite and it is rather big. it has a kitchen, hall and dinning place and also equip with a washing machine and a dryer. It has nice sea view too. The only setback is it is a bit far from places of interest, but it is ok for us as we rented a car to go around the island.

Nice view but....

The Sea Samui is a boutique hotel just beside the beach with nice view. I stayed in the sea view suite for 4 nights. The suite has huge space and most of facility you need including oven and washing machine. Huge wash room and living room with a nice balcony. They have one jaccuzzi in room but i am afraid to use it because i read the review a lot of people said there is some bad smell. Overall the room is good. The location of the hotel is quite remote to the street like shopping or eating place. But there is a small local food just next to the hotel, just go out the hotel and facing the roll , turn right and walk about 2 mins and you will see a bungalow. Thai Soup noodle only 45 Bhat but just some fly are going to annoy you. but it worth to try. One of the frustrated things for the Hotel is the breakfast buffet not come with fruits everyday.

A nice place for a break

Very good value and location (we got a discount). The facilities were good and services excellent. The beach was nice, not so much coral but safe swimming and a very pleasant location.

Great hotel

The hotel was exceptional, completely exceeding our expectations. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and tried their best to help us with all of our requests. I will definitely be returning again with my family, as it is a hotel better suited for families, far away from the more modern areas for young people.

Baller Status yet secluded

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite for a night (returned from Phangan and had flight out of Samui the next day). The room was super affordable and was very nice. We'd stayed on Chaweng Beach before so wanted to test the North side of the island - it is a lot more secluded and more quiet than Chaweng to say the least. Pros: great facilities, awesome view, nice and quiet beach. Cons: when booking through Expedia it takes a long time at check in, isolated location; hotel does not offer scooter rentals. I would def recommend for those trying to get away from the hustle and bustle that prefer to stay on the resort the whole time. Big plus that they offer airport shuttle and even put together a breakfast box for us since we left early in the AM

Good value

It was a great stay right on the beach. We walked slang the beach. A big plus was the washer and dryer in the room.

A cosy boutique beach resort with beautiful views

We had a wonderful 10 night stay at 'The Sea' in a 2 bedroom suite on the third floor with absolutely gorgeous views of the beach. Our room was spacious and well-equipped (kitchenette, washing machine/dryer and jacuzzi) which was perfect for our family (2 Adults and 2 Children). Both the breakfast/restaurant menus were sufficient and Staff accommodating. A few days were spent lazing around the pool, walking along the beach down to a nice secluded swimming beach approximately 500 meters away from the resort. Unfortunately, the beach in front of the resort is rocky with coral which restricted swimming. A majority of our stay was spent exploring Koh Samui island ( hired a car and travelled around the island, different beaches (Chewang for the kids, Lipa Noi), elephant ride, waterfalls, shopping etc but was nice to come back to our cosy room in the evening. The Staff were absolutely fabulous assisting us in anyway possible which made it so special for us and especially the children! Special thanks to Pee, Bee, Ging, Troy, Ed and our Shuttle driver..

Good but could be a lot better

We had booked a garden view room but there is no garden, just the road so we upgraded to a sea view room which was good & included a kitchen & washing machine. Breakfasts were plentiful but quality was average as was food in General which meant that though they tried hard very few people ate in the hotel & as the location was quiet there weren't many other places to eat. I think hotel has the potential to be excellent with a few changes.

Nice but isolated.

For people who want a quiet, restful holiday we would totally recommend The Sea. However, if you need more action you would need your own transport or lots of money to be picked up and driven to whatever you want to see. The hotel is rather isolated and the local area is not very exciting. The beach is not really very nice for swimming - it is rocky once you go out a few metres.

As good as own home

Pros: 1) Full suite of home appliances (include washing machine, dryer, oven, toaster, dvd player, and etc) and cooking utensils, 2) Very spacious room, 3) Very quiet room, 4) Very quiet beach, 5) Very helpful staff; Cons: 1) Small swimming pool, 2) Quiet location without convenient store nearby (no impact to me), 3) Same buffet breakfast contents everyday and food quality was 'ok' (fruit juice not fresh), 4) Very small gym, 5) Wifi is weak for tablets. Overall: Worthy to stay if you like cooking for yourself or if you want to try its romantic dinner by the beach side. Staff are very proactivce and helpful. Definitely worth to stay in this hotel if you rent your own car/bike and if you want to escape from the crowds.

Outdatet

To be honest, I am disappointed. It does not in any way resemble the pictures in the advertisement on your website. The kids are almost stepping through the outdoor floorboards, and the pools look dirty. The tiles in the Pool is loose. Parts of the shower doesn’t work. We are paying good money to stay here and expect the advertisement to match reality. This place was once, perhaps 10 years ago, a luxurious destination with high standards, but it has suffered from a lack of upgrades and has therefore become worn and outdated.

Séjour convenable. Personnel très sympathique, mais l’entretien général laisse à désirer, de même concernant l’hygiène et la propreté. Dommage compte tenu de l’emplacement et de ce qu’était sûrement cet établissement à l’origine. Petit déjeuner banal.

Mooie rustige lokatie. De zee is niet geschikt om in te zwemmen, te laag water. Maar een fijn zwembad. Fijn restaurant.

The Sea ei ollut viiden tähden arvoinen

Hotelli oli jo parhaat päivänsä nähnyt. Kulunut, mutta siisti. Aamupala oli pettymys valikoiman suhteen. Meillä oli pienellä altaalla varustettu huone päärakennuksen alimmassa kerroksessa ja altaan ympärillä oli korkeat seinät, joten huoneesta/altaalta ei maisemia katseltu. Muuten rauhallinen alue sellaista haluaville.

Tres belle hotel avecctres grande chambre et cuisine ! Tres propre et confortable

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Sea. Uraiwan and the rest of the staff were lovely. We stayed in one of the three bedroom beach villas overlooking the beach. The villas are very spacious with a big garden and the private pool was fantastic. One thing that was not great in our situation: the bedrooms are organised in three separate apartments. As a family with two small kids this was very inconvenient for us (one of us needed to sleep with the kids). For families with older kids or a group of friends the villas are very convenient though. Points of feedback: the villas are a bit dated (can use some maintenance) and the options for the breakfast menu are a bit limited.

Séjour parfait

L'accueil et le service est parfait. Le personnel est d'une gentillesse incroyable, l'hôtel est très calme. Parfait pour un vrai repos loin de l'agitation. Le petit déjeuner a un très large choix ainsi que pour les repas tout est très bon . La chambre nous avions la suite avec piscine et baignoire jacuzzi, très grande avec le patio c'était très appréciable

Problème de réservation avec l’appli Et mauvaise communication entre Hôtels.com et l’hotel. L’hotel une fois sur place nous affirmant qu’aucune suite comme celle que nous avions réservé n’est disponible, veut nous faire séjourner dans une petite chambre hors de prix (la manager au téléphone qui tire les ficelles de son pauvre pantin à l’accueil) nous refaisons la démarche de réservation devant eux et cette fois ça fonctionne. Pas d’excuse ni de dédommagement quelconque après ces 2 heures passées devant le desk dans un hôtel au milieu de nulle part avec des frais de taxi exorbitant pour le moindre petit trajet. Point positif : les massages (prenez 1h30 l’heure passe trop vite) la suite vue sur mer (au loin par dessus les toits de devant) est propre

Vi hade en superbra vecka med fint väder och mycket avslappning. Vi var o princip de enda gästerna på resorten vilket gjorde vår upplevelse ännu bättre. Bästa minnet är middagen på stranden i solnedgång. Magiskt vackert.

Schönes Hotel etwas ausserhalb. Ruhig - der inselhighway führt direkt vorbei - wenn in einer der Villas. Etwas heruntergekommen. Offizielle Preise sind sicher massiv zu viel, ein Viertel ist aber okay.

We have been gifted with an outstanding, unforgatable holiday at Koh Samui. Simply perfect. Having read a lot of older reviews I must say that things must have been positivly changed. During 14 days we have been in a suit at the main house and Presidential suit in the garden. The noisy main road in front of the house did not affect us at any time. We were upgraded as reaction to a technical problem with one aircondition which we just asked to fix but the Hotel asked not to say insisted to choose between 2 equal or better rooms in case repair takes longer. I must admit perfect reaction. Thank you again for your kindness Our kids loved the private pool at the Villa. Staff was always helpfull and friendly. Purchata (Ice) and here team were preparing the best cocktails and chilled drinks of the Island. Toillets, also public ones, were every day perfectly clean - no smell at all. Houskeeping did an excellent job. We we received daily 1h vouchers for Kyaking which we did with the kids. I would always come back and can easily recomend The Sea to anyone who searches a safe clean, cosy, hospital and calm stay

Superbe hôtel et villa luxueuse,le staff est très attentif mais quelques incompréhensions en anglais.la plage est vaste et nous surchargée de touristes,seul au monde.petit bémol la carte du restaurant est trop fournie ,de ce fait pas mal de plats commandés ne pouvait être honorer..une suggestion serait d avoir moins de choix,mais que ceux ci puissent être servis.Le petit déjeuner intercontinental était top.Pour le wifi,quelques difficultés à se connecter par nous meme,mais grâce au professionnalisme du steward de l accueil,nous avons pu nous connecter sans problème.Merci a tous.

Struttura meravigliosa situata in un angolo meraviglioso di Koh Samui. Lontano dalle spiagge affollate questo Hotel è davvero una piccola bomboniera. Clean and romantic hotel

The hotel was very good if you like cleanness, nice thai food and a romantic Wall along the beach. However, we paid for an update of the room as the cheapest room was facing a main Road with alot of noisy traffic.

Lautes Hotel in der Nähe der ringartigen Autobahn

Das Hotel liegt direkt an der ringartigen Autobahn, die Koh Samui erschließt. Dadurch sind so gut wie alle Zimmer (außer den Villen) von extrem lautem Straßenlärm ab circa 5 Uhr morgens betroffen. Auch Sea View heißt: hinten raus zur Straße hin. Es ist sehr vieles defekt: die Poolwasserreinigung, so dass dasselbe extrem trüb ist. Die Schiebetüren, vieles wirkt uralt und abgenutzt. Die Anlage ist sehr eng gebaut, kein Platz zum Durchatmen, die Villen sind zum größten Teil ohne Meerblick. Der Strand ist grobsandig, das Speisenangebot eintönig und die Preise gesalzen.
