Great Tetbury Inn
We were a group of 9 friends staying in Tetbury to visit the Christmas lights at Westonbirt Arboretum. The hotel was excellent and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The food was good and the rooms clean and comfortable. Could not fault it.
Exceptional stay
Absolutely beautiful place, rusticly modern with everything you need for an extremely comfortable stay..easily could have stayed for a week! The owner and staff were so welcoming and felt like we had personal service..ALL the staff were exceptional including the young servers in the restaurant who were outstanding. Definitely staying again and highly recommend!
Very good location on the edge of Tetbury will parking great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant and very good food would recommend this hotel if wanted to stay in the Tetbury area
This is a great example of a country style inn. It's warm and very inviting. The staff are welcoming and very helpful. There is no lift (elevator) so that may pose a problem for some people. The rooms are old but well maintained and very comfortable. There is a nice on-site bar and restaurant with a huge, centrally located fireplace that can be enjoyed from everywhere on the main floor. Tetbury is a Cotswolds style village with some good eateries and pubs. We reaĺly enjoyed our stay.
Great comfy bed and excellent customer service
Perfect Stay
Simply the best
Highly recommended.
Staff all very attentive. Room had large comfy bed and was very quiet with fan. Window blind broke second day of stay and by the end of the day a new one was fitted. Did not eat breakfast but both nights the evening meals were both excellent. Nice beer garden and good sized car park with EV charger. Good range of beers and wines. Nice easy walk distance into Tetbury town centre.
Stay at The Priory Inn for RIAT air show 2024
Amazing staff, lovely clean rooms, very nice restaurant food.
The price was reasonable, reception lady was very friendly and helpful. I would use this again if I was in there area.
Quaint hotel in the heart of Tetbury and within walking distance to local trails, tea rooms, and restaurants. Delicious food served in the dining room. The superior suite was clean and spacious. Only down side was the view but the service from the staff made up for that with their warm hospitality.
Lovely stay at The Priory.
So happy rhat we stayed here. The place is great and the food delicious and freshly made but the real winner are the staff who were so very welcoming and helpful even though they were really busy. We will most definitely be back. The town is so beautiful and historic too.
Sunday night stay
We had a Sunday night stay to see a concert at Westonbirt Arboretum, a ten minute drive away. Wonderfully friendly welcome and we enjoyed an excellent, and reasonably priced Sunday lunch in the restaurant on arrival. We had a standard double room ( 7) which was bright, tastefully decorated and scrupulously clean. Because it was an attic room, it did get a little warm though, and upon opening the window there was quite a lot of traffic noise from the main road in the morning. But all in all an excellent stay, and would use again.
Brilliant stay
Nat was a fantastic welcoming attentive hostess We loved our room and the priory inn The front garden and grounds were perfect for a drink and meeting friends Breakfast was fresh and could tell was local produce Stayed as a couple as attending a wedding in the area We would love to come back
I would recommend this hotel
I couldn't fault this hotel, comfort, cleanliness, position for touring the area, staff, a particular mention for Nat and Becky who were friendly and efficient. The food was superb, so good we ended up eating in the hotel four nights. Hope to return sometime.
Make The Priory A Priority When In Tetbury
Very clean and comfortable room with consistently exceptional food and great service.
Nice and friendly Great location
Large comfortable family room in a traditional pub, restaurant, bar inn very popular for its great location , food and atmosphere. Great place to stay…book early! Great family hosts who go all out to welcome guests.
Exceptionally Good
Hotels don't often exceed expectations but the Priory did. From the moment we arrived we felt well looked after - the rooms were big, clean and quiet, the beds were comfortable and the restaurant was excellent. The level of hospitality was just right and we felt very welcomed. As a bonus, the garden was lovely - full of culinary plants, which I saw the chef cutting first thing, and beautifully kept. We felt that the staff really minded about the quality of their guests' experience in all areas and I hope this is reflected in this review.
Would stay again :)
Friendly staff and lovely hotel, good location to walk into the village and peaceful, would stay again
Would recommend this Inn as a comfortable place to stay where the staff want guests to have an enjoyable stay.
God place to stay to explore the western Cotswolds
Lovely place place to stay, good rooms, good service and great food and drinks. A visit to the National Arboretum at Westonbirt is a must!
A superb stay.
From making the booking to our day of departure we received friendly and faultless service. This was not only from the management but from all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed an excellent dinner and breakfast, all very well presented. Clearly an unusual establishment, in that the hard working manager and staff obviously enjoyed their work which made for a relaxed and professional relationship with their guests.
Great location, food and accommodation ideal for visiting Tetbury. The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful, even had the personal touch of walking us to the room on arrival.
Great staff. Lovely room. Very quiet
21st Wedding Anniversary
My wife & I stayed on Sat 27thApril to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary, we have stayed before & had a wonderful time. Nat gave us a nice bottle of fizz & a note wishing us a happy anniversary. Rob was also wonderful behind the bar & eveeyone looked after us so well. Matt is a genius in the kitchen & fed us some amazing food. It is our favourite place to stay & we will be comi g back again & again.
A lovely hotel and staff couldn't do enough for us . excellent room and service will definitely be using them again
Very peaceful, perfect stay.
The pub was really nice and food was good. Friendly staff. The room was spacious, warm.and comfortable. The bathroom could do with a bit of updating and cleaning of the mold in some areas. Parking was easy and the town was cute. Overall a great comfortable stay.
The Priory Inn is right in the heart of Tetbury, which is a beautiful village. The standard rooms are decent, nicely done out with good facilities (kettle, choice of teas and coffee incl. decaf). The let down was the shower room, which was quite cramped and there were a couple of patches of mould on the sealant (this could do with some attention). The bed wasn't bad, but a little springy for me and I reckon the TV could do with an upgrade, as it's quite small and an older model. The hotel has a nice bar and restaurant downstairs that's worth stopping at and all of the staff were really friendly and very helpful. I couldn't fault them at all. There's also two EV charging ports in the car park (convenient, but you'll need your own cable and they're more expensive than the PodPoint in the Tesco car park nearby). Bottom line, I enjoyed my stay and I'd definitely stay again.
Highly recommended!
Beautiful hotel in a lovely village. Staff are brilliant, everyone was so friendly! I had both breakfast and dinner, food was excellent! Will definitely be coming back, thank you!
Fantastic friendly staff . Wonderful stay . Will return .
Fab place to stay
Wonderful warm welcome and stay, nothing was too much trouble . Will be staying again would highly recommend
Perfect
What an amazing place. Cool warm and cosy interior with great staff!!! Well done!!
I loved the Priory Inn. The room we stayed in was PERFECT. The restaurant was delicious. Its proximity to the shops in town couldn't be better. Parking was plentiful and easy. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed our stay here. Becky was OVER THE TOP - so helpful during check-in and throughout our whole stay. Thank you for making a magical experience in the Cotswolds.
Rooms were lovely, staff super friendly and breakfast was delicious
Stay
Lovely hotel with large family room, bathroom a little small and in need of a facelift. Excellent breakfast.
Friendly staff made it a comfortable fantastic visit and a very lovely breakfast Will defo come back again
An excellent welcome on arrival. All the staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Special mention goes to Reece who was our server during dinner and breakfast next morning. We thought the COVID controls you had in place in the public areas were excellent with all staff wearing face covering or visors. The food was very tasty and well prepared and presented. The room was just what we needed, comfortable. We had four points which we sent to the inn for their consideration: 1: When standing in the shower and looking up there is black mould on the ceiling. 2:: The plug in the hand basin requires a replacement rubber ‘O’ ring. 3: there was nowhere to hang towels, a coat hook on the bathroom door would be useful. 4: We were surprised that the plastic key card was given to us in a plastic disposable plastic wallet. With the war on plastic and with the key card an easy item to clean, wouldn’t it be easier and more environmentally sound for the key card to be disinfected just before issue? If in the area again we would definitely stay with there again.
Large, comfortable family room. Great location and friendly staff.
Hotel was nicely appointed. They appeared to be in a management changeover so the restaurant was only doing pizzas. Breakfast was only 7-9am that was a bit early for us
Really friendly staff and good service. Bathroom and towels were in need of a little more cleaning and updating. Otherwise very comfortable room with the essentials provided.
Not the Hotel it used to be.
Room not cleaned for first two days of my stay. Bin not emptied for Three days. Food very disappointing and quality of beer very poor. Breakfast was good. Rooms very tired and bathroom poorly designed.
Great small hotel and pub. Very friendly manager.
The menu had little choice unless you had pizza however the pizzas were nice
Lovely garden planting and traditional inn . Helpful staff and clean rooms
Hotel room was brilliant very modern and clean but town is very limited if you are staying for a long period
Good friendly service
Nice place with bar and restaurant area. Room was clean and comfortable but looking a little tired, especially the bathroom. Good value, friendly staff.
Lovely stay
Stayed in New Years Eve. Despite being fun off their feet, the staff were polite and service was good. The lady in charge was extremely busy ensuring everything went smoothly. The food was delicious. Very comfy beds. Would recommend.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent food and comfortable stay.
Enjoyed the night away at the Priory. Food and atmosphere very good. Comfortable bed and nice warm room.
A comfy stay in a beautiful location
Nicely appointed room in a lovely pub in a beautiful town in a picturesque part of the world! The food in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced and service was fantastic.
DBB rate is very good value. Food quality was superb
An ok stay in a nice place
Room was comfortable and well appointed but the bathroom let it down being small, cramped and not particularly good. Pleasant staff. Good food in the restaurant on Saturday evening. Disappointingly they only serve pizzas on a Sunday evening, but there are good pubs and restaurants a short walk into town.
Tired hotel.
Room 19. Tired in need of renovation. Sharp springs sticking out of matress. Old stained carpet. Bathroom very Old in need of complete new suite. Lots of banging noises through out the night. £140 for Saturday eve.. a bit of a joke.
Fine for a short stay.
No one at check in, rang bell, sign told us to go to bar. Barman managed to call Becky. Room 3 bathroom cramped, toilet bowl 10 cm from bath, and soiling under the rim ( next to my face at eye level while in bath) . Only 20 hours allowed ( 3 pm to 11am) in rooms. Paid cash and were told the bill was a receipt so we asked barman to write “ paid “ on it and sign it. Staff were polite. £79 per “ day”.
Beautiful hotel in a lovely little town. Wish we could have spent more than one night. Room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were all very friendly, especially in the restaurant. Great pizza was an added bonus!
Nice Hotel - bad bed
The Priory Inn is a very nice hotel and pleasant staff, when they're around. No one was at reception to book in me & my wife and we had to wait awhile after ringing the reception bell. Furthermore, no one was at reception to book us out the next day so we just left the room key at reception and went. The main disappointment was that the pleasant room was married by a bed with an uncomfortable mattress and too soft VB pillows that CV flattened out into a hard rock. Neither I or my wife slept well that night and we wouldn't recommend staying there longer than 1 night. However, the restaurant was good even with a limited menu (mostly pizzas) and the inclusive breakfast was very good giving a wide choice to eat. But, because of the bad mattress and pillows, we wouldn't go back there.
Sauna
Room directly above wood burning pizza oven, absolutely boiling all the time. Very uncomfortable during night, especially as it was so hot outside. Desktop fan did nothing to help. Bedroom also overlooking kitchens and bin area, not pretty. Would go back only if assured of front facing room away from ovens.
Comfy hotel in the centre of Tetbury
Clean and friendly good food would recommend to friends
Good location for Cotswolds
Very nice breakfast. Room was comfortable and clean. Perfect location for visiting the Cotswolds area. Good for parking.
Great food
A pleasant hotel with helpful and attentive staff. Food was really great. Only downside was the price I had booked at was incorrect and was therefore asked to pay much more than I had budgeted for.
Priory Inn
Hotel had friendly helpful staff and was clean and tidy. Food was excellent.
Excellent place, great family atmosphere.
Lovely room and great food. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Half board good value. Would definitely recommend
Nice hotel with character well placed close to town.Aladins cave of a hardware /chandlers shop opposite. On the edge of Tetbury which has beautiful church and very nice clothes shops . I've never see as many antique shops in a small place . Lovely vist.
Polite staff and good service. Only on a one night business stay but everything was good
Friendly and welcoming staff
Overall we enjoyed our stay at The Priory Inn. The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. We opted for Half board and found the food delicious. The restaurant was always busy - generally a good sign. The room was quite dark and the decor needed a bit of attention. The TV was very small and difficult to see but that says more about our failing eyesight I think! It wasn’t too much of an issue as we spent very little time in the room. The bathroom was small but clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is close to local attractions in the Cotswolds and we would certainly return.
Quick business trip - everything I needed
Great restaurant and quality rooms. Will be back next time.
My room smelt a bit funny and breakfast wasn't included. Ok other than that.
A good hotel
The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay. We will return in the future.
The Priory is ok for overnight or longer as the rooms are pretty spacious and in reasonable condition. I bboked entirely in error, it was all in a rush and I selected and booked the wrong place, but despite this it was ok. Food was very good and all sourced locally. I selected half board option that gave 3 course dinner and breakfast and all very nice. Good selection of food and drink and I can recommend the perfectly cooked steaks. Location is very good and handy for the Cotswolds and beyond. The building was nice and fitted in well, but the rooms were a little mainstream and could have been a little more individual rather than corporate.
Convenient for the shops etc.
Before we arrived at the hotel we were advised that breakfast was included in the cost of £99 which was also confirmed on arrival. However, we were disppointed to see that we were charged for breakfast but did not notice at the time we paid the bill. We have since written requesting a refund.
Wonderful welcome!
We arrived at the Priory after a very trying journey and the warm and friendly greeting was just what we needed to start to unwind. Wonderful staff and great setting!
Great disappointment.
Very disappointing. Long wait at reception to be signed in. Room was very tired, grubby and smelt very stale. Bathroom minute and dirty tiles.bedroom furniture tacky Dinner pretty tasteless and table tacky so had to lean on paper napkin. I would have asked to change room but were very tired and husband not comfortable with having to complain.
Awful - a very disappointing experience!
The allocated room appeared to be used for storage - it was nowhere near ready for occupancy. Staff were great and asked for 20 minutes to get the room ready - we felt that the room was in such a poor state (everything was tired and dirty) that we were better off finding somewhere else. No criticism of the very apologetic staff, who were running a very busy bar/restaurant as well as manning the reception area, but not having a room available at the hotel for us was a very disappointing experience after a 3 hour drive from N.Wales.
Well located for visit to Highgrove
Stayed overnight for a visit to Highgrove. Comfortable and clean with a good breakfast. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.
Visiting Highgrove
One night stay for 3 couples in 3 double rooms, while we visited Highgrove Gardens. Very easy to find and reception and check in was quick & friendly. Rooms were very comfortable, but a little tired around the edges. However it was clean, comfy bed and had all the facilities we needed. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good, food & drink reasonably priced, but I guess it depends on what you are used to paying. Very small bar area, but they kindly opened up the lounge so that we could relax together after dinner and brought coffee and drinks through to us. The usual cooked breakfast was on offer, cooked to order and they managed to satisfy one of our party who has very specific requirements for his fried eggs! Well done chef! I thought it gave very good value for the area and the service was excellent and would definitely stay again if I was visiting that area. Free wifi too, which is always a bonus!
Nice hotel within easy reach of places of interest
Staff very helpful & polite. During our stay we ate in the hotel restraunt where the food and service was excellent.
Friendly stay and fabulous food
From the moment of checking in to checking out, every member of staff was friendly, helpful and professional. The '30 mile dining' experience is a great idea and having locally sourced ingredients resulted in great food in the bar/restaurant. And breakfast was really good! Would definitely stay again!
A place to stay
This is a good place to stay for a few days. Friendly staff, good service and food Very reasonable price. Would recommend.
nice hotel in centre of Tetbury
Highly recommend this place. Comfortable room with great shower. Staff very friendly and the food is superb.
Nephews Wedding
Friendly, welcoming staff. Lovely food and a nice room with plenty of shelf space ( which is unusual). Would definitely return.
Convenient, well placed and well priced for the ar
Friendly receptionist who welcomed us and dealt with us very quickly. Room clean and had everything we needed. The hotel as a whole though did seem in need of a fresh coat of paint, seemed a bit worn. The gardens were well tended and there was enough parking space. Would recommend for over-night stays.
Really friendly staff and excellent service.
Staff were marvellous and they did everything to please. The food was excellent, room was comfortable and clean. We would recommend this Hotel to anyone.
One night for a business meeting
Comfortable and welcoming with some particularly nice little features. Good value - I would stay again.
Friendly hotel near to Highgrove
We stayed here for a night while visiting the gardens at Highgrove. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating.
Very comfortable, good food,
Chosen as a meeting place to see local friends. Very busy bar and restaurant?
Basic but good food and location
Basic accommodation, clean but could do with updating. Food was good, serving girls worked hard and never stopped from morning to night.
Good overnight for Highgrove
Great for visiting Highgrove
Very friendly place in a lovely Cotswold town
Very friendly service and quiet room. Decor is dated but clean. Great beer selection in the bar.
A great deal of effort was made to make it special
From start to finish we received excellent service, always with a smile. Clean and spacious bedroom and bathroom. Free car park. Free wi-fi. Dinner and breakfast was very nice with produce from local suppliers. Feedback forms given to all guests.
Comfortable room and great eating
Three day stay for a short break and to visit Westonbirt arboretum. We loved Tetbury's individual shops and antique centres. The weather was wet and cold so we upgraded our b&b booking to a d,b&b and enjoyed the food selection available in the hotel. We loved the 30mile radius for food suppliers and went to find a couple of them for their cheese and flour. We would love to return one day.
A cosy and welcoming stay in a beautiful location
We stayed at The Priory Inn as we were visiting the Westonbirt Arboretum. We received a warm welcome on checking in and were very impressed with how clean and well provisioned our room was. The staff at the Priory Inn clearly care a great deal about the little details that can really make a stay - from the tasty cookies awaiting us in the room to the local produce on offer at breakfast. We decided to eat in the bar/restaurant in the evening and the food was delicious (I thoroughly recommend the stone baked pizzas). We will certainly stay at The Priory Inn again when we are next in the area!
Right in the heart of Tetbury, perfect.
The Priory is a three star hotel so this is reflected in the presentation. There were muffins on the breakfast menu but when asked about them the staff member said they were not ready yet and this was half an hour after the start of breakfast. I think this hotel needs some tlc, chipped veneer on table in bedroom and a sour smell in the room.
Went to the arboretum which was lovely hoped to do more walking but weather wet and windy so explored Bath
Excellent
We have stayed here now quite a few times, every time has been consistant for excellent service, you are made to feel very welcome and the staff are very attentive but not over bearing, rooms are very clean and breakfast excellent, highly recommended.
