Great location, friendly staff, the restaurant was great.
The staff is exceptional
The Pierre is the Pierre—which is to say it’s great. But the staff interrupts too much.
A Grande Dame Hotel in NYC that still deserves its reputation for luxury. The furniture is exquisite. Tables and chests are mahogany with inlay of a lighter shade wood. The bathroom is huge, with separate shower and bath of high quality marble that is up to date. Also has a tv. High quality mattress. Central Park views. Staff responds to telephone requests in minutes. However, no 24 hour room service. Last call at 10:00 pm. Food is five star. For a VIP, it is just like home.
Centrally located. Great staff.
Great service and caring
Historic speaking there, part of this deal has to
Historic
It’s right in the area I wanted to be in. Across from Central Park, close to the stores in 5th ave yet away from the noise and chaos. Staff was very friendly and it’s super clean hotel.
The Elegance of a Bygone Era!
Having stayed at the top rated hotels in NYC in the past, I have chosen The Pierre for my last two trips. It is a classic hotel with beautiful decor and impeccable service. Staying at The Pierre is like a timewarp back to the elegance of a bygone era you do not find elsewhere. To a person the staff treats the guests incredibly, commenting to you as you pass by. A great experince!
Large rooms and excellent customer service.
Everyone was welcoming and friendly
Wasn’t as impressed as I intended to be. My fiancé called ahead to make arrangements for our room to be decorated since it was my birthday. He was also promised earlier check in when we got here which we did not receive. Was also told we could check out later but then had to complain in order to be able to leave around 1pm. Usually I do the checking in and the one time I let my fiancé do so I feel he was treated poorly. Not sure I’ll be returning anytime soon.
Amazing service and amazing location!
Outstanding service.
We were extremely impressed with the service. We had a problem with our room (there was a squeaking sound) and Crystal, the manager, was very attentive, giving us a different room and walking us up to the new room to make sure it suited our needs. The elevator operators, doormen and bellmen were all helpful and attentive as well.
This is hands down the best hotel in NYC. The staff has been working at this hotel for many years and are extremely welcoming. Try their restaurant, bar and lounge where there is live jazz music. We feel very much at home at this luxury hotel.
Beautiful hotel
Amazing dining - food was top quality and very delicious. Comfortable and spacious room. Amazing views.
Excellent luxury property. Close to lots and attentive staff
Fantastic hotel with attentive staff

Pierre hotel historic budget hotel 2025
The hotel is part of our cities loved hotel. We cherish the building and the idea of the hotel. Service is alway excellence in great care! I had a small room on the 11th floor which had a large room under construction. So noise started at 8 am and painting during the over night session. The room is old with a few antique items, no frills. No small coffee maker, NO ROBES!!! , not many channels on TV SET. The front door cut high so hallway lights shun brightly under the door and into the room. Poor air quality from HVAC window unit. Also, window cold air leakage. Otherwise the room was O.K. or, good enough for where I was dining a few blocks away . So we could walk there . I stayed at the hotel because I am a local resident and come from Queens to have dinner with my wife and see friends, go to theater ,etc. I always loved this hotel. Scaffolding is still around the building for the past 12 years, unreal !!! Residential apartments under construction in continuous undertakings and also, just as a point, I am a garden designer and top florin NYC , the arrangements are beautiful but frankly, hydrangeas are over and spider mums , anthurium, etc are an old outdated floral design. Although the arrangements are always nice. The hotel - Lowell down the block has spectacular floral arrangements. I assume Taj hotel group is on a budget this year. Thank you
Love the location had a large suite with 2 bathrooms
service ok
It was outstanding
We were excited to try The Pierre because of its reputation but a bit disappointed in the quality of the service and general experience compared with similar nice hotels. With a few exceptions the staff was hurried and dismissive, our room was nice but not special (no ports for phone charging!) we had tea in the restaurant and for $250 got a small pot of tea and a three tiered tray of disappointing treats. The Pierre is a grand hotel but these days seems to rely a lot on its history and reputation. We enjoyed our weekend but probably won't go back.
The Hotel is lovely and elegant. Honestly I don't think I have ever been in a hotel with a staff as nice as at The Pierre. Absolutely everyone who worked there treated us so kindly and went out of their way to make our visit perfect. Because of my VIP status we were upgraded to a large king suite that had two full baths! Absolute luxury! I can't wait to go back!
I love the old world charm and attentive staff.
Exceptional property with the FiNEST staff one could ever hope for. This is and will be our go to property for each stay in NY.
Excellent all around.
This is my go to hotel when I m in nyc It is always a pleasure It is easy check in and out. Staff is wonderful
Customer service was amazing
Couldn’t sleep Heater making noise
Short but lovely
The man at the front desk took me all the way to my room. He was so kind and helpful. I love the Pierre
Excellent service and everyone was so pleasant. Will stay again.
The service was amazing and the staff were very nice and the overall experience for a one night stay was lovely. Would definitely stay here again
Great Concierge at The Pierre
Visited New York City for a fun couple's get away and the Peirre was an absolutely fabulous oasis. From the first person to the last, the staff was kind and extremely attentive especially the Concierge, Denzel, who graciously went out of his way to find two fantastic gluten free restaurants and handled the reservation. He could not have been more helpful.
The Grand dame on 5th
Great service from the moment I arrived . Staff extremely friendly and polite and efficient. I found my room extremely comfortable and well appointed. I will definitely be back very soon. There is a hint of old world elegance with a modern flair.
It was a lovely staycation but the hotel is a little run down.
Hotel was absolutely amazing. Very high end in a great part of Manhattan.
Best service ever
My favorite hotel in New York impeccable service and very friendly but elegant
Hotel is very tired needs renovations and updates! Should be freshened up Specially public areas. Staff are nice but lack training and service guidance! If you book through expedia, they refuse to help in any way. Just refer you back to Expedia !! I will nevet book with Expedia again!
Everything was top notch but most especially the staff . They are unfailingly kind and helpful and friendly
Great hotel
THERE WAS NOTHING TAJ ABOUT THIS HOTEL - NO CLASS AT ALL
great spot, first class
Great stay.
Beautiful hotel and great access to everything
The most extraordinarily beautiful, elegant and stunning hotel, staff, services and dining!
Legendary Hotel Lives Up to Reputation
Located across the street from the Plaza and next to the Sheri Nederland, this hotel maintains its place as the best legendary hotel in NYC. Simply a brilliant property with an amazing staff of super friendly and accomodating people, this hotel is beyond first class and five stars.
I have been staying at the Pierre for over a decade and they have the best customer service ever. The location cannot be beat. The hotel Is beautiful and the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in in my entire life. The staff is friendly and helpful. Katie, the elevator operator always brightens my day.
Excellent hotel and unbelievably great location Top notch . Best i stayed in new york including the plaza
Wonderful stay
Check in process was seamless, room was big and clean. All the employees were incredibly sweet and the 2 complimentary drinks were super generous. They also gave us a 2pm checkout which was highly appreciated, great location and staff!
What sets the Pierre apart from any other luxury hotel is their staff...from the front desk to concierge to the kind folks who helped us find a lost item. The room was beyond comfortable and quiet. Although we were only in town for a night, we would have loved to extend it just to enjoy the exceptional service and attentioon.
Wish we had upgrade
Tired, old, dusty room, rude staff and no one to carry luggage. Would never stay here again, pictures and location are what sold me, but the stay was not worth the price tag!
Great location excellent service
Great stay
I Love The Pierre!
Our stay was amazing. Super comfortable and clean. Great staff
Commendable in all respects. Excellent location, history, and service. The latter was very personable.
The Pierre is excellent in all respects and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. However, the Expedia site mentions I was to receive a room upgrade as part of a VIP service. I didn't know about it. I don't think I received any upgrades.
Great place
Service was lovely however the hotel could use some upgrades. Also there was no hot water for one day due to what seemed to be planned maintenance by the city. Was not made aware of this issue when we booked.
Always lovely at The Pierre
Love the Pierre. Classic New York spot.
This is a classic NYC Hotel in a great location on 5th Avenue on Central Park. It's 90 years old, but has been maintained perfectly. Staff is friendly and service correct. Close to Mad Ave shopping and the Metropolitan club. Couldnt ask for morea
Best location in NY Great staff.
Old World Elegance • Prime Location
It is a walk back in time to stay at the Pierre. We were there when they had jazz music in the bar. Excellent service. Best location.
Very exclusive. Helpful staff. Comfortable bed.
Old building with snob staff.
Fine good location
The Pierre is a lovely old hotel right next to Central Park on 5th Avenue. It has lovely old-fashioned lifts with attendants, and is easily walkable to Downtown New York. It’s lovely French-style restaurant reminded me of Monsieur Thenardier in Les Miserables: “rooking the guests and cooking the books” when the waiter brought a much cheaper wine instead of the expensive wine I ordered. So please stay in the hotel but make sure you dine out!
Grew hotel. Fantastic staff and great location. Very comfortable
Room not ready (2 pm), nor did they send me a message when it was available. Ended up in our room at 4 pm. Parking was terribly difficult ( the hotel advertises self-parking across the street, but the attendants said parking was full). If the only guarantee is valet parking, please don't advertise other options.
Not that nice
It’s supposed to be 5 star but it’s old. It’s very dark too. The room was small in a weird corner and very dim. The concierge service wasn’t very helpful at all. The elevator attendants were nice. Their restaurant was just ok. Great location
Did not like much, check in was awful, no benefits were presented and when I asked them about it they did not know what I was talking about. Hotel is quite old, smells old, check in personnel are just awful.
Great location. Stained carpets. Borderline restaurant.
Great stay. Excellent service
It’s super cleaning exceptional personal
Magnificent hotel. You definitely get what you pay for. I would definitely stay there again. My love & I had an amazing time & felt so pampered. Everyone was so friendly & accommodating.
This is my first time at The Pierre. Have stayed at St Regis and The Ritz Central Park. Both of these are lovely but The Pierre went above and beyond in terms of service, hospitality and that extra step that makes it even more special.
Beautiful hotel and very luxurious
Great hotel.
Our deluxe room was not ready on arrival. When we returned 3hrs later the room we booked was not available. The manager gave us an upgrade to a suite.
Comfortably quiet
Quiet and comfortable in a city that is not. Loved everything about the trip.
Outstanding hotel
This is a first class hotel. Outstanding service and amenities. Gorgeous and well kept.
Perfection
We loved The Pierre. This is our HO TO hone away from home in NYC. What a classic and classy hotel property.
The staff were without fail very attentive. Abraham at the Concierge Desk is most helpful. The restaurant is good, particularly a young lady who never stops working as the main hostess. The room was clean and quiet. This is a well run hotel with New York prices to match. A little excessive for breakfast! Tea is $10.00, and a martini can sometimes be close to $40.00 plus plus! But this IS New York City. Thanks to the very special elevator ladies who really make your day and evening!
Wonderful service!
I liked the history of the property and location. I thought the bell person on the elevators was a little over done. The room upgrade I received was a little underwhelming. The fitness area for a 5 star hotel is not up to standard with other hotels I've stayed at.
They need to change carpets. Looks old and dirty and can’t stay the smell in hallways. It is a nice old style hotel, but the smell was awful
This is right up my alley unlike Park Lane which my CC concierge said it was a 5 start hotel. It isn’t. The Pierre is outstanding! Thank you for wonderful short trip.
Old, not worth the premium price
Amazing stay and will be back
a good place to stay in new york.Near central park, near subway, surrounded by shops and restraut.
