What sets the Pierre apart from any other luxury hotel is their staff...from the front desk to concierge to the kind folks who helped us find a lost item. The room was beyond comfortable and quiet. Although we were only in town for a night, we would have loved to extend it just to enjoy the exceptional service and attentioon.
Wish we had upgrade
Tired, old, dusty room, rude staff and no one to carry luggage. Would never stay here again, pictures and location are what sold me, but the stay was not worth the price tag!
Great location excellent service
Great stay
I Love The Pierre!
Our stay was amazing. Super comfortable and clean. Great staff
Commendable in all respects. Excellent location, history, and service. The latter was very personable.
The Pierre is excellent in all respects and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. However, the Expedia site mentions I was to receive a room upgrade as part of a VIP service. I didn't know about it. I don't think I received any upgrades.
Great place
Service was lovely however the hotel could use some upgrades. Also there was no hot water for one day due to what seemed to be planned maintenance by the city. Was not made aware of this issue when we booked.
Always lovely at The Pierre
Love the Pierre. Classic New York spot.
This is a classic NYC Hotel in a great location on 5th Avenue on Central Park. It's 90 years old, but has been maintained perfectly. Staff is friendly and service correct. Close to Mad Ave shopping and the Metropolitan club. Couldnt ask for morea
Best location in NY Great staff.
Old World Elegance • Prime Location
It is a walk back in time to stay at the Pierre. We were there when they had jazz music in the bar. Excellent service. Best location.
Very exclusive. Helpful staff. Comfortable bed.
Old building with snob staff.
Fine good location
The Pierre is a lovely old hotel right next to Central Park on 5th Avenue. It has lovely old-fashioned lifts with attendants, and is easily walkable to Downtown New York. It’s lovely French-style restaurant reminded me of Monsieur Thenardier in Les Miserables: “rooking the guests and cooking the books” when the waiter brought a much cheaper wine instead of the expensive wine I ordered. So please stay in the hotel but make sure you dine out!
Grew hotel. Fantastic staff and great location. Very comfortable
Room not ready (2 pm), nor did they send me a message when it was available. Ended up in our room at 4 pm. Parking was terribly difficult ( the hotel advertises self-parking across the street, but the attendants said parking was full). If the only guarantee is valet parking, please don't advertise other options.
Not that nice
It’s supposed to be 5 star but it’s old. It’s very dark too. The room was small in a weird corner and very dim. The concierge service wasn’t very helpful at all. The elevator attendants were nice. Their restaurant was just ok. Great location
Did not like much, check in was awful, no benefits were presented and when I asked them about it they did not know what I was talking about. Hotel is quite old, smells old, check in personnel are just awful.
Great location. Stained carpets. Borderline restaurant.
Great stay. Excellent service
It’s super cleaning exceptional personal
Magnificent hotel. You definitely get what you pay for. I would definitely stay there again. My love & I had an amazing time & felt so pampered. Everyone was so friendly & accommodating.
This is my first time at The Pierre. Have stayed at St Regis and The Ritz Central Park. Both of these are lovely but The Pierre went above and beyond in terms of service, hospitality and that extra step that makes it even more special.
Beautiful hotel and very luxurious
Great hotel.
Our deluxe room was not ready on arrival. When we returned 3hrs later the room we booked was not available. The manager gave us an upgrade to a suite.
Comfortably quiet
Quiet and comfortable in a city that is not. Loved everything about the trip.
Outstanding hotel
This is a first class hotel. Outstanding service and amenities. Gorgeous and well kept.
Perfection
We loved The Pierre. This is our HO TO hone away from home in NYC. What a classic and classy hotel property.
The staff were without fail very attentive. Abraham at the Concierge Desk is most helpful. The restaurant is good, particularly a young lady who never stops working as the main hostess. The room was clean and quiet. This is a well run hotel with New York prices to match. A little excessive for breakfast! Tea is $10.00, and a martini can sometimes be close to $40.00 plus plus! But this IS New York City. Thanks to the very special elevator ladies who really make your day and evening!
Wonderful service!
I liked the history of the property and location. I thought the bell person on the elevators was a little over done. The room upgrade I received was a little underwhelming. The fitness area for a 5 star hotel is not up to standard with other hotels I've stayed at.
They need to change carpets. Looks old and dirty and can’t stay the smell in hallways. It is a nice old style hotel, but the smell was awful
This is right up my alley unlike Park Lane which my CC concierge said it was a 5 start hotel. It isn’t. The Pierre is outstanding! Thank you for wonderful short trip.
Old, not worth the premium price
Amazing stay and will be back
a good place to stay in new york.Near central park, near subway, surrounded by shops and restraut.
@
Amazing location and amazing service.
It’s the best royalty at its finest
Peaceful and beautiful rooms and right in the heart of the Upper East Side!
Love The Pierre!
The best NYC hotel experience ever !!!
From beginning to end every detail and aspect of our stay was impeccable. The accommodations made for our small service dog was so wonderful. He loved the pet bed provided and he ate all his meals in the bowls. The bathroom shower was fantastic & room layout was so comfortable.
Old tired place. Great service bit elevators had no AC nor did hallways. Hot and stuffy. Worn stained carpeting in hallways. Needs upgrading
Classic nyc hotel. Room is comfy with great bed and luxury bedding. Shower is strong. The servicr impeccable. Not modern nor updated which i thought was going to be an issue but def was not. Best service ive had in nyc hotel.
Service is key.
From check in to getting the room serviced service was an issue. The best parts are the lovely elevator ladies and the restaurant, the rest of the staff needs to understand that when you stay at any hotel, even a motel, service is important. You should not have to call down twice for your room to be serviced and then have to wait until the second shift starts at 5pm to get your room serviced. You should also expect a text when check in says that that they will notify you when you room is ready only to have to check in multiple times because that person disappeared.
My husband and I spent the weekend at this property and loved the service and the exclusivity of it The VIP status with Expedia definitely helped And the breakfast was absolutely amazing We will visit again
Beautiful, immaculate, lovely staff
The staff is extremely professional. The hotel has maintained its elegance, even when there are people in the restaurant dining in tshirts. The waiters were still professional and appropriately formal. Feels like NYC hotels used to feel. Not like the Mark or One which are horrible
We were served warmed up frozen paranthas. Sent 2 emails to the Pierre and another to Taj Hotels regarding this incident. Our emails were completely ignored by the Pierre and Taj hotels
The entire stay was superb. I was upgraded to a fabulous suite.
Sadly the Pierre is not the hotel it was, interior is dated and a little worn, service definitely not the level I was expecting - for example room service failed to deliver. Also be aware there is a “facilities” charge similar to a resort fee added to your bill regardless of whether you use or receive the benefits (apparently pastries, bottled water, gym usage etc) and appeared on my credit card after I had settled my bill at the hotel - it was not mentioned to me at check in or check out. I love the hotel location but there are better value alternatives close by.
The staff are the amazing at this hotel. Our room was very clean. Can’t wait to go back!!
I have stayed in every high end hotel in NYC. I have always wanted to try The Pierre. My recent trip staying at The Pierre was fabulous. a beautiful property with amazingly helpful and nice staff and great food! The Pierre will be my go-to hotel in NYC from now on!
We had a good stay and nothing to complain about.
Wonderful staff and great bar
Fantastic hotel! Lovely location, excellent service, great food, convenient valet parking. Will definitely return!
A great place to stay
Staff was wonderful
I don't think the hotel deserves a five-star rating. There's no espresso machine or kettle, and no complimentary snacks or desserts or drink in our room. Even though the hotel knew this was a celebratory stay, they didn't do anything special for me, unlike other hotels I've stayed at. Additionally, there are no seats available during check-in and checkout, so you have to stand for the entire process. Also, I was overcharged, but they refunded me later when I pointed it out after the stay. However, the location is great if you want to walk in Central Park every morning. But if you prefer to stay in the city center, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
Location, comfortable, elegant. The electrical was wonky in my room, I could not leave my bedside light on without hall light also being on. Only the master switch worked to turn that off and then I couldn’t turn bedside on. Also the hitel in general is a little dated.
The shower was scalding and I was not able to turn it down. Very very dangerous.
Lovely staff and service. Could use a refresh but still excellent. Great bedding and bed
Lovely hotel. Nice staff
Great hotel and location.
Really rude help. They are confused about their role
Right near Central Park, subway station, Park Avenue shopping and dining. Excellent and attentive service and staff.
Excellent property and helpful staff, located across the street from Central Park.
No upgrade even though hotel was alerted in advance that this was my honeymoon. Clerk was rude at "check-in." Criticized my use of a "third party app" to book reservation. Why does hotel list on Expedia then? Water was shut off on last day for "scheduled maintenance" that was not disclosed until late the night before. Could not go to toilet, shower or brush teeth. No adjustment to rate made for inconvenience.
The staff are wonderful. The building has old world charm and elegance. Loved our stay.
Legendary Hotel -- For a Reason!
One of the world's truly great hotels. Legendary for a reason.
Incredible service
A real classic hotel great service and minutes from the busy 5th avenue shopping experience!
Good
Old and historic building. Great location on edge of Central Park. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Service was almost 5 stars but not quite. I would stay here again.
Room 3407 is in need of repair and renovation. Door knobs and shower knobs stick and don’t turn easily. No in-room coffee. Had to call engineer to start tv. Ridiculous for a top hotel. Next time, Four Seasons for a bit more reliability.
It was my first trip to New York and my stay here was absolutely perfect!! I Highly recommend staying here for the perfect vacation experience.
Everything about this hotel was so mid.
Perfect
This hotel never disapoints. Great Hotel, great staff. Extremely friendly and always trying to accommodate you in the best way possible.
Old school elegance
I stayed at the Pierre only a single night, after United Airlines delayed, then canceled my flight, leaving everyone stranded. After a day spent at LGA, the Pierre was an oasis of civility. Every single member of the staff was kind and charming, without ever being stiff or snobby. My room, while on the small side, was normal for NY. Everything was well-appointed and clean, and the shower superb. Keep in mind this is an old-school hotel, with old-school elegance. Nothing was in disrepair or shabby, but there is nothing new about the place; it is New York at its historical best. They even have elevator operators, a charming holdover from another era. In conclusion, I’m sorry my stay was only a single night.
Nice
Excellent amenities- warm and welcoming staff- located walking distance from all major attractions
When I first visited NYC in the early 60s I stayed at the Pierre. It was wonderful, magestic, unforgettable experience, the best of the best. In my recent trip I decided to try it again. I am truly and sadly disappointed. Aside from the very nice staff, the experience is so very disappointing. It is old and looks old, the carpet at the room hallways is all stained, the air conditioning in the hallways is off, I found three, yes, three bugs in my room. Overall the hotel is understaffed. Out of six elevators they only have two operating hence you have to wait quite some time for your turn. The prices of services are outrageous, $100 for coffee and a basket of assorted bread. They charge daily $34.43 plus tax for a "Hotel Facility Fee" which I considered also outrageous. I will NEVER repeat the experience nor I will recommend the Pierre at all. So disappointed and sad.
Everything about this hotel is amazing.
Above average.
It is my favorite hotel in Manhattan. The customer service is amazing. The rooms are lovely. They go out of their way to make your stay wonderful.
Fantastic stay- wonderful staff and very comfortable room.
All the elevator ladies!!! They rock!
Great stay and wonderful staff
Wonderful staff. Lovely property
Confusing upon arrival regarding the entrance to the hotel. The hotel has a great history but it is in need of updates. Will not stay again
Best staff I ve seen
True 5 star hotel.
Wonderful stay
Check in process was seamless, room was big and clean. All the employees were incredibly sweet and the 2 complimentary drinks were super generous. They also gave us a 2pm checkout which was highly appreciated, great location and staff!
