A lovely country inn in impeccable condition. Luxurious bedroom with wonderful views. Delightful staff and excellent restaurant. A perfect place for a countryside break. Will certainly return.
Wonderful stay. Perfect family holiday. Thank you
Just love the Pheasant inn. Stayed there twice now and each time it exceeds all expectations Don’t really want to tell everyone how good the place is as we want it all for ourselves
Fabulous venue with excellent service, great food, comfortable rooms and lovely views from the terrace if the weather is good.
Stayed here in November 2023 and the only issue then was the plug release in the bath was broken. We stayed again in the same room September 2024 and they have still not fixed the plug release I had to get a teaspoon and pry it open!! Apart from that the food is fantastic and service brilliant. Sad to see the Candal factory has gone under after 50 years. We will be back might try a different room next time.
We stayed for 1 night as we were attending a wedding. Felt like we did not make full use of the hotel however the parts we did experience were perfect and we would definitely stay there again.
Lovely rural setting
Great hotel and restaurant
Great hotel, bar and restaurant with friendly and welcoming staff, and excellent service throughout our stay. Room was clean, well equipped, comfortable and modern. It would have been nice to have had the heating on when we arrived but appreciate that we’d recently had a change in weather. Bar has wide selection of drinks and food is excellent. Views are fantastic on a clear day and outdoor seating is available. Would (and have) happily recommend to friends and family
Lovely setting and all the staff were very helpful. The rooms are fantastic and the quality of the furnishings is high. Had breakfast which was served quickly and of very f=good quality. Will defiantly be back again for a weekend stay not work as this was. Fully recommend booking this place.
Great hotel for walking
An overnight stay for a walking weekend.
Can’t wait to go again.
Located with an amazing view across the Cheshire Plain, this coaching-house type inn/hotel is a lovely place to stay. The rooms are big, well-appointed and spotless and dinner and breakfast were delicious. Staff are friendly and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay.
Stayed here to get to The Open at Hoylake. A beautiful charming country hotel in stunning surrounding area. Lovely views, quiet away from it all but easy and not far to get to Chester. Had breakfast and dinner and both were delicious. Super happy to have found this little gem will definitely revisit.
Lovely traditional country pub.
This is an amazing place. Parking was plentiful. Rooms are beautiful. The setting is lovely. We had a very peaceful nights sleep and the breakfast was ample and delicious. I would absolutely recommend this place. Can’t wait to visit again.
Stunning place
Beautiful venue, service excellent and lovely accommodation. set in fantastic countryside, well worth a visit. Will be returning
Great stay
Lovely boutique hotel women to the sound of pheasants cosy room with good amenities. Lovely fresh cooked breakfast.
Highly recommended
Really lovely pub with clean and well equipped rooms. Had evening meal and breakfast, both very good. Nice friendly staff too. Will return for a walking break with my wife and our dogs.
Lovely
Amazing food and staff. I love dogs but I prefer to be in a room where no dogs are allowed.
Overnight stay
We received a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival. Our room had a great view overlooking the valley towards Liverpool. We had a light lunch and evening meal and both meals were good quality and enjoyable. Really enjoyed our one night stay and would definitely stay again. Our only minor criticism would be intermittment hot water issues with the shower in the morning, but other than this, everything was spot on!
Lovely place, excellent in all areas.
great place. wrong room
beautiful pub. well appointed rooms. excellent staff. beware however. the room and the picture shown when we booked was not the room we were given. the manager explained that this was not their fault, but a mistake by hotels.com
Stayed before so familiar to us. It’s cosy, has a lovely atmosphere, dog friendly which is important for us & food/service generally good. On this occasion the meal was a little minimalist & service & food at breakfast was poor!
The views were spectacular from the bedroom window. The food was excellent as was the service
Beautiful hotel, amazing location with outstanding views! Restaurant was superb too both breakfast and dinner! Will definitely stay again! Excellent 👍
Can recommend the Pheasant Inn
Great stay at the Pheasant Inn, there is a certain feel to the place that makes you feel very relaxed. The staff were all very efficient and friendly, excellent service despite being very busy. The food was well prepared and presented. Can highly recommend
Love this place
We loved it, gorgeous food. We watched the sunset with a few drinks before going back to our gorgeous room
Beautiful accommodation set in one of the most idyll corners of Cheshire. The Pheasant is ably run by Ruben and his friendly team. Highly recommended!
Thoroughly enjoyable stay

Everybody was lovely and friendly especially jade 👏
Loved the relaxed atmosphere and fires and cosiness ... despite masks and etc .. delicious food despite the shortness of ingredients due to imminent lockdown
Fabulous!
In spite of C19, we had a great one night stay.... dinner was fabulous and everybody so helps and friendly... a good nights sleep followed by a very substantial breakfast all freshly made.... all very clean too ...can’t wait to go again!

Last minute booking
Beautiful rooms, gorgeous food and really friendly helpful staff. Brilliant night. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely wonderful in every aspect. Class.
In all honesty this is hotel was probably the highlight of our Motorbike Tour. Rooms: WONDERFUL Staff: Friendly, good fun, smiles for days and service you’d expect in a 5* London Hotel in Mayfair Food: Genuinely first class and not wanting in any area Views: Stunning Breakfast: Probably the best cooked breakfast I’ve had in a Uk hotel A special thanks to the bar and kitchen staff. You make this place what it is. No hotel with views and such character is worth a cent without a terrific beating heart. I have stayed in the worlds best hotels. My favourites including the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, The Four Seasons in Ubud and the Dorchester in London. This is firmly placed as one of my top ten and I cannot wait to return with my wife and kids for a break moving forward. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality Mr J Harris
Amazing
Amazing, not one fault. Will be returning again soon!
Excellent!
Really excellent stay with friendly staff and excellent service!
The Inn is a lovely rustic place, the food was great and the room comfortable. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Chester.
Lovely country property - fantastic food and friendly staff
Nice
Comfy, cosy, great breakfast, nice staff
Excellent location, food and staff very friendly and efficient.
Exceptionally clean rooms. Friendly staff & excellent service, especially Becky with her lovely personality. Location was perfect with amazing views of the picturesque countryside & hills. Would definitely recommend staying at this place.
The pleasant Pheasant Inn
This was our first night in our UK trip and was arguably the best place we could stay to introduce us to this country. Our room was small but the stone walls and lovely decor made it feel simultaneously rustic and contemporary. The bathroom was well designed and had a wonderful shower that was just what we needed after 15 hours of travel. The bed was a dream, I haven’t slept that well in a long time. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. I appreciated the don’t trust your sat nav signs providing direction along the road, we found our way with their help!
Awesome experience
Wonderful hotel and traditional English experience
Amazing location and great local walks. Great service and lovely food and very clean and comfortable room
This is an amazing place with great food and comfortable rooms! The rooms are furnished to a very high standard and are nice and warm in winter. Great walks and views over the local countryside. Definitely plan to com back!
Lovely stay
Nice rooms, friendly & helpful staff, lovely view & good food!
An excellent find
I wanted to stay overnight before a business meeting - and avoid some of the chain hotels. Good call! Lovely inn with good service and good food - and will come back if I am this way again
