Great time
For the price, it was morebthan perfect.
Hotel Location is perfect, in heart of OMANIA and SYNTAGMA squares. Also, Its contents is a few rooms and customers occupancies is for a few persons.
Never again
When I arrived by taxi, the driver asked if I would like to go to another place. Bed was OK. Cleanliness ok. Cleaner staff very rude. Worst area I could found on Athens even though close to city centre. I was afraid to walk around the hotel by myself at any time of the day. Room was messy, walls were painted very dark and air conditioner was not working.
A classic hotel being renovated and polished
Even though I arrived at 5 am due to unexpected flight delays the owner was there to meet me! He and his staff are charming and while it is a work in progress it is going to be wonderful when it is done and is charming now. It is in an excellent location near Central Athens and all transit connections and a short walk to very charming areas with excellent food, shopping, and sites. The owner is extremely helpful and attentive to all your needs and as a guide for the area, what to do, and where to go. I am staying longer here than I originally planned because of the hospitality and location.
Superb
My stay was amazing
Grand if u on a budget for 2 guy/gal
The place is very close to the top 3 places in Athens, barely a 5min walk frm Omonia railway station, psiri and monastri station. The hotel is in d middle of it all, just dnt get scared looking at the lane thr hotel is located. Wch looks like a mix of Indian, Pakistani, Bangla and Afghanistan (u dnt need to worry abt Halal food) is economical and filling. The hotel doesn't have a lift thankfully we had carry-on baggage. The bed is of wroth iron and squeeky(in case u plan on bein a pornstar) mattress is all springs. Bedding is changed every 4 days, shared toilet/bath (clean). No drinking water provided. TV runs 4 greek lingo channels. Ok for all guys/gals trip on budget. I loved d connectivity.
Very bad location NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FAMILIES
Please be advised that this hotel is very poorly situated in the city of Athens. False publicity, the hotel pictures seem ok at first glance but when you actually get in that dangerous sector of the city and see in what you will be living in is terrible. The somewhat hotel that they call it is in really bad condition. The owner says they are currently renovating, meanwhile the rooms were not convenient and families with kids should really aim towards a different location if they want to feel safe and sleep properly. Very poor decision of mine and lost all my money for this reason I had to change hotel and nothing could be done for once again.
Some one pinched my expensive watch :(
I went for Europe tour for one week, and unfortunately I choosed this hotel too . The receptionist guy really like to do arguments with the guests plus I left my £400 worth watch in the toilet and after 5 mints it’s gone vanished I have been kept asking the receptionist but they said they doesn’t know and finally I decided to ring police then the receptionist guy told me that he’s working for police too and he doesn’t care :( well end of the day I am so disappointed:(
Be careful before considering staying here
Awful experience. Initially when we arrived to check in, the guy at the front said there were no rooms even when we had booked days in advance. The hotel most likely gave away our room we booked because we checked in later (which it was not stated or requested to disclose arrival time or any times that are too late to check in). They eventually gave us a room that looked to be one that was out of commission and not sold to customers. The lights didn’t work and it didn’t seem like it had been cleaned. Also the area is dangerous. Ghetto and not a place you want to be even in daylight.
I stayed for 2 nights and I felt unsafe from the very beginning and many times considered to leave and book elsewhere. At the end I didn't leave and there was not an actual problem occurred..
Centrally located, budget friendly but no bargain
First night third floor HOT no air conditioning, was provided floor fan. Next night free upgrade to 2nd floor and air conditioning. Very pleasant. If you need to exit hotel before 8 am be sure to WARN staff. I found myself LOCKED in..front door deadbolted with key lock. Emergency fire exit led out back door to courtyard surrounded by 10 foo concrete wall. I did make my 9 am flight...barely.
Not far from monastiaki
This is a great place to stay if your looking for somewhere to leave your bags and be out most of the time, it's not a luxury accommodation it's average but it's fine if your looking for somewhere to sleep. I don't know if all the rooms are the same but outlet room was a heat trap, and it would be difficult to sleep as the room had no ventilation. The hotel itself wasn't far from monastiaki and plaka and all the main parts of Athens which was very useful. The owner is very friendly and helpful
¿Closed down?
I can't tell you what inside was like as I couldn't actually get in, I paid for a non refundable stay of 3 nights (Hotels.com refunded me) It appears to have closed down permently, it looks very run down from outside in a dangerous area with large groups of young men loitering, the other side faces out onto a very busy noisey road. No one responds to the door bell or heavy knocking. 2 days after I suppose to check in I was emailed the outer door code and told room key to be collected from reception. Code worked but door double locked. Neighbouring hostels say they very regularly have people come in with the same problem.
In the mood for an adventure
I travel a lot with business, and I like to stay in hotels that aren't big chains, I find them a little soulless, so i took a gamble and went with the New Yorker. I enjoyed it, you get a very basic room, comfy bed, wood floors, air con, everything lovely and simple that you don't get in the chains. I was very happy here. Saying that, there are very annoying let downs, which can easily be avoided, for instance there were three lamps in my room, none had bulb in, which is strange. Also the shared bathroom shower only sprayed cold water, which was fine for me as it was very hot outside, but still, a freezing shower isn't for everyone. The neighbourhood is central but ruff, on the last night my car was vandalised outside the hotel. But saying that, for the cheap price I got for the room, it was clean, the staff were super friendly, the other hotel residents were happy, quiet people and you are slap-bang in the centre of town! If you are expecting any luxuries then you will be let down, if you are looking for a comfortable 4 walls, bed, wifi and air con to leave your stuff whilst you go sightseeing and then return to at night - it's actually just as good as any fancy hotel around. Just don't park there!!!!!
la chambre attribué n'est pas la chambre donnée . La personne d’accueil nous crié pour une réception ca ne se fait pas nous somme rester 30 min puisque elle se ficher de nous donner ce qu'on a reservé
Not a place to stay! No service or someone to refer to. Aircondition did not work and asking for another blanket was very difficult. Shared bathroom in a very poor condition- door hardly can closed.
Was soll man dazu sagen? Die Umgebung, odos Menandrou, ist ziemlich runtergekommen.
