The staff were very kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. I would definitely like to to stay there again.
Excellent breakfast. Had a lot of options available as well as very friendly staff members. The location is great too, walking distance to the station and main tourist attractions.
I enjoyed my stay there. It’s above a restaurant/pub and I was there in December so there were Christmas parties being held which made it a little loud but not unbearable. The food was very good. I would definitely stay there again.
Excellent breakfast
Situated in a good position. Close to the town centre. Very good food and not too expensive. Everything you needed for a good night's stay.
Great location
The staff were very friendly and helpful at The Millers The quality of the food was good and well presented. The breakfast is freshly cooked and there is a good choice on the menu but only one item can be chosen. There is not an option for cereals, pastries and toast with jam and marmalade. The pub is undergoing a refurbishment but this did not interfere with our stay as it has started on the outside of the building. The location is great, with a car park across the road, and is in easy walking distance to Canterbury centre.
Great place to stay if going to the city
Super friendly pub/hotel
Alan welcomed me and was super helpful. His staff were all very friendly and went the extra mile to help with my business trip!
Great B&B with a great location
Wonderful B&B with lots of charm and great location. A true English experience.
Excellent all round.
Excellent service. Very clean and fresh room. First class breakfast. Can’t recommend it enough. In the center of Canterbury
Great location, friendly, great rooms - great breakfast
Expected More
The positives were that the room was spotless. It was situated in a beautiful part of Canterbury, very close to the city centre. Breakfast was devine for the both of us. Very friendly staff. The Negatives were. The windows wouldnt close completely and you could hear eveything from the beer garden below when trying to sleep. The wadrobe had no door knobs on both doors which made it very almost impossible to open. Lots of coffee pods and tea bags, but only not enough milks. I had to shower kneeling down as the shower did not go high enough for me to get under (im 6ft 3in). The scorch marks going across the bathroom floor was abit worrying and quite hot to stand on. I expected more for £165 per night!
The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and personable.
Disappointing experience. Room was small, in shoddy condition and dirty. Room was very cold and window did not close properly. Bed was very uncomfortable.
Excellent staff, location, quiet, great food and bar. A special place that is very well run and accommodating in every way
Amazing property Little town But the staff was very friendly
Great stay in Canterbury. Very good location easy to walk into city centre. Easy parking just across the road. Room on the small size but good value as it included a great breakfast. Room could do with some more lighting otherwise fine.
This is a lovely pub with Accommodation and the food is excellent. The decor is a bit down at heel And could do with some refurbishment.
We had a lovely stay at Millers Arms. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating! Paul, Bella, Jenny, and Ollie all were wonderfully helpful and provided great suggestions and advice for our trip. Breakfast was delicious and substantial. The rooms were modest and small but has nice amenities. They were not very well cleaned though. The location was also great as it was mostly quiet but very walkable to the train station and to the city center. Thank you!
Great food, close proximity to the Cathedral and the Marlowe and a lovely view from our room over the river. We would come back again.
My wife and I stayed one night at the Millers Arms in August 2024. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were really friendly and nothing felt too much trouble. The room was clean, with a really comfy bed and some nice added extras (toiletries, biscuits, Nespresso machine). We stayed on a Sunday night and popped into the bar for a drink before we headed to the room. Even though it was getting close to closing time, the staff were more than accommodating and didn’t at any point rush us. There was a good selection of options at breakfast. We both had a Full English but there were plenty of other options to choose from! Parking was easy, although we paid for 48 hours when we were there less than 24. Overall, really good value for the money. We dont often take the time to write reviews but we really enjoyed it and would definitely stay again/recommend.
Nice family room with view of the cathedral.Staffs are very friendly!Great location too.
Lovely room above a wonderful pub and great staff
It was in good location and breakfast is complimentary. Staff is very friendly and it is convenient to have the pub downstairs.
Good breakfast, nice pub, aged rooms
5 minutes walking to Canterbury cathedral, paid car park across the street. Included breakfast is good, as is the pub. Helpfull staff. Rooms are small, run down and sorely need renovation.
Awesome location. Great restaurants/sites within walking distance. Great, fresh breakfast.
Had an amazing stay here for 2 nights in July. Stayed in room 6. Lovely room in a great location. Staff are hardworking and friendly. Food was great. Would definitely return.
Good choice.
We had a very comfortable room for a reasonble price. It was surprisingly quiet considering the location in the centre of Canterbury. Parking is no problem. We were dissaapointed that the bar was shut by 9 PM and that even before that the real ale was not available.
Great location, friendly staff. Very old property so you expect that it is not as well equipped as a modern hotel but makes up for that with character.
Our room was located at the back overlooking the kitchen and flats, downside of this was the lack of privacy when in the room. Although there is a roman blind at the window, it is a black out, which you need to shut when getting ready. Would be better if there was some frosted vinyl adhesive on the glass, so you can at least get dressed in the daylight. The bed was too hard, but some people may prefer this. Breakfast and service at breakfast was excellent.
Friendly and clean everyone very attentive It is in the right spot for visit to Canterbury Food very good super breakfast It only has stairs no lift if its an issue for you
Great Weekend in Canterbury
Splendid 2 night weekend stay in Canterbury. Central but quiet location, a 5 minute stroll to the high street, even less to the Marlowe Theatre, very helpful staff and a great breakfast. Very importantly for Canterbury, it's just over the road from St Radigands car park which can be paid at a discounted rate at the hotel.
Overall a lovely stay. The room was nice, could do with a little bit of an update (handles missing from the wardrobe and the bathroom being a little tired) but a lovely view with a lovely welcome from the staff on checkin. The breakfast was great too, lots of choice and made really well. We very happily stay at The Millers Arms again. Thank you.
Lovely stay
Lovely hotel/pub. Our second stay. Lovely room, a few rough edges. A little lacking in non alcoholic drinks/mixers. Breakfast lovely, staff attentive. We will stay again.
Great breakfast
Very comfortable stay with excellent breakfast. Lovely view from the room however some blinds on the windows that adds a little privacy during the day wouldn’t go a miss!
Helpful friendly staff
Good welcome and everyone encountered helpful and friendly Room a little tight for space but otherwise fine Signs of wear - stairs carpet in particular
Great location and great family room.
We stayed in a family room on the top floor, which was a good size and had a lovely view of the cathedral. The pub is well located, it didn’t take us long to walk to the King’s mile shops and cathedral. It isn’t too far from the train station or Westgate park.
A wonderful overnight stay in Canterbury
This is a real gem in the centre of Canterbury. The staff were extremely efficient and friendly, showing us to our room in person - a nice touch. Our room was very pleasant and confortable with a large bathroom. We had a lovely dinner in the Millers Arms restaurant which was good value for money. The price of our room included breakfast which has a wide selection of different dishes. I went for the porridge: not bad but if it had included a couple of slices of toast would have been better. A great experience and I would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Canterbury.
Great place and value for money
Clean and spacious, good breakfast and nice staff
Great central location and all you could need for a one night stay. Great breakfast too
Great place to stay. Food was ammmaaazzzziiinnng!!!!
Quaint room and good food in Canterbury.
The staff were very helpful and courteous. The food, breakfast and dinner was outstanding.
Friendly staff and dinning area beautiful
Friendly, welcoming staff, comfortable, clean room, and perfect location for our trip to the Marlowe theatre, and discovering what Canterbury has to offer.
We had a lovely stay here, would definitely recommend and will be returning!!
It is good place but sometimes it is noisy outside.
I would stay here again nice location great full English cooked perfect. Parking is over the road 1 minute walk and is £12 for 24h Pay at the hotel not in the carpark. There is EV charging in the carpark. 5 minute walk to the Cathedral, Sops and restaurant's.
Staff were all lovely and very helpful. Fantastic breakfast, dinner and bar.
Nice hotel, got everything you need.
Comfortable hotel.
Very central location in Canterbury. Clean, well equipped rooms. Fair decorative condition, but looking a bit tired in places. Very helpful, friendly staff.
Lovely central place to stay in Canterbury
Lovely hotel. Clean and the service was excellent.
Good and bad
Stayed here before many years ago so chose again. Staff very friendly. Arrived Sunday teatime and no food available. Good job I brought a picnic! Room very small but bed clean and comfy. Single glazed windows were draughty and I could hear the river. Spiders and cobwebs on the blinds and walls. Bathroom walls were dirty and shelf was broken. Lack of toilet roll but nice smellies. Room is in dire need of decoration. Must have had a leak at some point because there were water stains down the walls. Tea and coffee good and also a tv. Wasn’t a bad stay but could have been soooo much better. If I’d have paid out my own pocket for this room, I’d have been disappointed. Glad it was just for the one night
Ok for a night, delayed check in
We only stayed one night and check in was delayed. Bags were stored at the bottom of stairs as opposed to being more securely located. Whilst check in was for 2pm, nearing 3pm the room still wasn't ready and it would have been nice to have been offered drinks whilst we waited. We didn't get to the room until gone 15:15 and needed to join a wedding party at 16:00 so not the most relaxing start. Room was very small, but functional. Toilet seat wasn't fixed properly. The wardrobe was fine but had two drawers - one taken up by extra blankets and empty packaging. There was the remnants of one toilet roll from last occupants and only one small other roll although staff were fine to supply extras. Breakfast was really tasty. Good choice from a menu. No cereals, continental or selection of juices (just one orange juice) with anything else to be charged (although chef accommodated change to apple juice - small amount, lots of ice though). Felt costs were being very much managed which is not a bad thing, but when spills to customer - not so good. Staff very friendly, pub really nice and great location. The room was fine for a night, but I feel needs some tlc and more cleaning staff to turn rooms quicker.
We stayed over with 3 other couples, as part of a late Christmas do. Check in was quick and painless. Parking in the car park.oppsoite, which is
Great location , good service, unclean toilets.
Well located, few minutes from centre of Canterbury and train station. Efficient check-in and millers room good size. Breakfast was also very good. However cleanliness of bathroom and plumbing were an issue. En suite was not properly clean, dusty corners, splashes of soap on walls , filthy toilet brush. Shower was a disaster, water streamed everywhere and really needs examination. In the morning it was clear public toilets had not been cleaned overnight and remained in the same state when we returned later in the afternoon. Could be really nice but need to sort cleaning and plumbing.
We very much enjoyed our stay here. The B&B is in a great location. Thank you!
Lovely room. We loved breakfast and everyone was super friendly and helpful.
Nice room with a great breakfast. Parking is chargeable in the next door council car park, but cheaper for hotel guests. For the price, I couldn’t fault the stay… would definitely recommend.
Very nice staff. Good food in the pub, nice breakfast. Excellent location.
Great stsy
Stayed here for 2 nights. Easy to find from Railway Station. Staff really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was freshly cooked for you with a good choice. Would recommend
Would stay again
Room cold windows dont shut properly condensation on the windows. Mattress needs replacing. The room was called millers
Location was good. Room was fine for my needs.
Meals were wonderful.
The location is lovely with the river and running water. The pub/restaurant is very quaint and the food is excellent. However, the carpets going up the stairs and into the room is very dirty.
Lovely place. Clean and managed well.
Fantastic stay - highly recommended
Fantastic stay - beautiful pub in a great location. Staff were excellent, room was really comfortable and breakfast was delicious.
Had a great experience here - our train was arriving late so we called ahead about food. They had a meal ready for when we arrived, took our bags up to the room ofrnus so we could eat/enjoy a drink right away. Will absolutely return.
Excellent stay
Lovely Hotel. Great food and wonderful staff. Parking is an issue in Canterbury but Paul, the manager, did all the online work to provide reduced parking fees for our 2 night stay - Thank you
Return Visit
Great location, easy parking, warm welcome, fair price and a free breakfast are some of the highlights. A return visit but first time in a 'feature room' and thoroughly recommended for minimal additional cost. Have stayed in a few different locations in Canterbury over the years and compared to Abode or Falstaff I would choose Miller's Arm over them for the price, friendly service at every turn and the modern facilities. Finally a bar downstairs so really does have everything you could possibly need. Cheers!
Very nice English Inn atmosphere, excellent food both in the restaurant and breakfast. The room was not in the best condition because of a damaged clothes closet and very difficult to shut and open bathroom door. The bed was good, however, and the bathtub excellent.
This is a lovely place with great food and really nice staff. We loved our time there and would stay with them again whenever we go back to Canterbury
The staff was friendly and helpful. We were comfortable and had a great time.
The location, hospitality and breakfast was great and parking right across the road. I highly recommend Millers Arms.
Room and amenities were very nice and the breakfast was excellent. Only issue was the lack of air conditioning and our top floor room was uncomfortably warm. I realize there are limitations with a very old property but an unobtrusive unit high on the wall like the Mitsubishi MR. Slim model could be fitted with a small compressor hidden in the back patio area.
Miller's Arms was a wonderful country Inn with just the perfect quirkiness for our stay in Canterbury. Leon at the front desk was fantastic, even when called on to run the front desk, bar and restaurant all on his own - he was pleasant and efficient! The bar and back patio are a delightful place to have a pint and unwind after a day of exploring the village.
Lovely welcoming staff. Clean properly and close to everything we wanted to do. Thank you.
This is a superb small hotel with excellent management, friendly staff, good food and a location on the doorstep of all the sites.
Stay with friends
Clean, comfortable, everything you need, lovely position and really helpful staff. Breakfast amazingly. Will definitely come again
Lovely stay
I really enjoyed my stay. The staff is friendly and very helpful, the position central in town and the car park right in front of the inn. The room was clean and very spacious, quiet and comfortable, and the breakfast very good.
Great location, friendly helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. All in all would recommend & stay again.
Good spot close to centre... river outside nice but water bit noisy at night
Lovely stay , Great staff
Lovely BnB, well priced for Canterbury, Great staff , food was lovely ,central location , very comfy bed room was a bit tired looking round the edges but I would 100% stay again Thank you to Paul and Leon and the lovely Lady who served our Breakfast , hopefully see you all again
The shower head in the "The Friars" room was trickling barely any water. I'm glad it was only an overnight stay.
Definitely recommend for Canterbury stay
Very pleasant setting and very helpful & friendly staff.
The staff were so polite and helpful especially Megan the stand in manageress Food very good and nice drop of beer Room was warm and cosy and it’s very close to city centre and Train Station Excellent
Wow! AMAZING Food! Great location to see the best of Canterbury!
Great hotel
Great hotel close to centre of town
A lovely get away
Perfect location, simple but comfortable rooms and in a quiet location only a few minutes walk into the town centre. Highly recommend the food and the service was friendly and welcoming. A really nice overnight stay!
Friendly staff and excellent location
A small pub an easy walk from the centre of Canterbury. Rooms were a little on the small side, but comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and the pub atmosphere jus great. The included breakfast was exceptional.
An amazing night away in fantastic surroundings. Breakfast was delicious too! Thank you
Good value for money, friendly staff and superb breakfast.
Lovely setting close to town
Quaint little Inn
The location was perfect for easy access to the town centre and right on a pretty little canal. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was great. Our only issue was that our room was next to a staff storage room so people were often going in and out and slamming the door.
Great location and breakfast
Most of our issues stemmed from the unusually hot weather but still could have been addressed. The family room is in the attic so was unbearably hot and no fan provided (on order apparently), the water pump for the shower is also located nearby so eveytime anybody in the building had a shower, we were woken up or had to listen to it. With the heat, we had to keep the windows open obviously but being right above the garden patio meant smoke drifted into our room (asthmatics so it's an issue for us) plus noisy people with loud voices. To be fair to the pub, they stopped people using the outside by 10pm so late night disturbances weren't an issue. As it's an old building, the soundproofing is poor so if you're a light sleeper, probably best avoiding! Our room felt a bit unloved and could do with a makeover - flickering bulbs, damaged bath panels, shabby carpet etc but for some that might be the charm of the place. The shower was barely warm but the sink hot tap scalded. The service however is great - efficient and friendly. The cooked breakfast delicious and the location brilliant. Few minutes stroll into the city centre. Obviously other people might have had different experiences, this was ours. I'd recommend if you're easygoing and just need a base. The family room is quite small, up numerous flights of stairs so I probably wouldn't recommend it for young families. For the price however, I'd have liked a bit more polish.
Great location and reasonable price!
Great value for money and location - would recommend! Although the hotel was tired in places (chips, scuffs, needed some TLC, equipment left in the entrance etc) and our room was on the snug side, it was worth the money we paid and the location was perfect for us. Breakfast was a choice from the menu and not a buffet so as I don't eat meat and don't like eggs I couldn't opt for just some fruit and/ pastries etc but my partner had different things and really enjoyed it. We didn't have a plug for the bath and called the hotel and they sorted it straight away. Staff were also friendly. Our room looked out over the river at the front which was lovely. However the downside was that a barrel delivery woke us up very early in the morning- which I appreciate couldn't be helped. A nice touch would be to offer discount in the restaurant for paying guests who are staying.
Ok stay
The stay was ok. The location was good and the room was clean. However, the room we got does not look like what shown in the pictures. It is small, dated, has a view of the back of the building and does not have a bathtub.
It was ok stay
It was an ok trip. I thought i was getting the family room but it was smaller. We are in the middle of a heatwave, no fans provided in the room and the under floor heating in the bathroom was on full whack. No way of turning down or off. Breakfast was ok, they got our order wrong. Good location. Nice towels, decent shower. No phones in room to reception.
