Studio room

Our stay was great, the Marlin hotel is just a few blocks from the beach and restaurants. We love the location. The only thing is that our room was smaller than the pictures.

Like being in Italy!

Great experience

The Marlin was clean, comfortable, and cozy. It’s a perfect location close to lots of excellent options for food and shops. The room was perfect for me and my husband. We will would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Miami.

Cool art deco hotel

Loved this art deco style hotel. We had a dinner at the restaurant on the main level that was fabulous! Great location, but partly because of the location, it is loud. The rooms are not sound proof so you hear everything that is happening on the street. The front desk was friendly.

Clean, comfortable but noisy

We stayed in a corner suite which was very roomy,however, the noise from Collins Ave with cars and motorcycles made it difficult to fall asleep. The windows are older, so would suggest replacing to help with this situation. Other than the noise, would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel, bad policy

Lovely hotel very close to the beach in prime restaurant and bar area of South Beach. David was lovely and made check in a breeze. The ONLY reason we are giving a 4 star and not a 5 star was due to the fact that the front desk attendant would not give us any silverware from the restaurant to use in our room for a take out meal from another restaurant. She told us the only way to get tableware was to order room service and then suggested my husband go to Walgreens to purchase plasticware and napkins. REALLY??? Completely unacceptable. Sadly, he did so we ended up with a multi-pack of silverware and a double roll of paper towels because that is what Walgreens had.

There was not enough coffee and creamer. We told them 3 people and had two coffee cups and 2 caffeinated pods. We requested more cream and tgey said they’d bring but never did. They charged a 30$ fee to use the WiFi and beach chairs we never used and we still couldn’t get service for an extra couple of coffee pods and creamers and a coffee cup. The room was comfortable and a great location. All in all I would stay again but they could be more generous with their water and coffee; and I really felt the 30$ day fee was a surprise and inequitable.

We stayed here for one night while our flight was delayed. It was myself and my husband and our two small children. Overall our stay was fantastic- Ada at reception was great and got us checked in early, knowing we were travelling with two tired kids. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was fantastic. Definitely 5 star meal and service. The room was great. We had issues with the bathroom door, but the beds and bedding and throw blankets from Sunday Citizen were awesome. Over all a great stay!!

Nice property near the beach. Hotel walls are thin so you can hear others talking/coughing/shower water. Resort fee was high for you get. I wish there was an opt out since I never used beach towels or other amenities. Italian restaurant in the lobby was really good.

Was a perfect size hotel within walking distance of many restaurants and one block from the beach. The amenity that provided beach chairs/umbrella/towels was also appreciated. Very helpful staff. Rooms were quiet. Would definitely stay there again.

Close to everything and unpretentious

We liked not being on Ocean Ave Much quieter, but still walkable to good food and the beach

Our go-to stay when visiting Miami. Great location. Within walking distance to shopping and one block away from the beach. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Amazing customer service from front desk. The young lady was friendly and very helpful at check-in and beyond. Would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely stay again.

The Marlin Hotel is a wonderful property that is perfectly located near Ocean Dr and Lincoln Rd shopping. We stayed for only one night but would absolutely be back again. The rooms are very nice, well appointed, with a large comfortable bed. The location is 10/10. Quite literally a 1 minute walk to the beach and just off Ocean Dr so you’re close enough to the nightlife but not too close that you can hear everything. It’s also about 10 minutes to Lincoln Rd. A plethora or food options available nearby as well. Azteca Mexican is just a block away and is phenomenal. Staff are super friendly too! My only complaint, if you want to call it one, is that the hot water in the shower takes a very long time to get hot and did occasionally fluctuate in temperature. Not a big issue though, and honestly it’s probably because the building is nearly 100 years old. Overall, fantastic spot.

An aging dame

No valet service. Breakfast no longer offered. Both were call outs as offered in the listing. Some furnishing worn. Room was comfortable though.

Minor annoyances: Bathroom door did not shut well and its shaded glass felt less private. Two TVs, both used one remote with predictable chaos ensuing. Great restaurant at the hotel.

We have been to the hotel a few times over the years. Property seems to be improving. Yet miss the free breakfast option!

Hotel in the Heart of South Beach

We booked a corner suite with a king-sized bed and the rounded windows overlooking the street. It was spacious, comfortable, clean, and had the view of the hustle and bustle along Collins Avenue. The room was surprisingly quiet, given the traffic and very busy restaurant just one floor below us, and the AC kept the room comfortable. The bed and bedding were very nice, and the bathroom had a giant tub as well as a shower with two shower heads. We stayed for 5 nights. The Marlin is only a block from the beach and Ocean Drive, which was an easy walk we made a few times a day just to people watch and grab a snack or drink. Parking was a block away in the municipal parking garage, and it was very easy to get in and out when we wanted to drive somewhere. The service was very friendly and helpful. There were only a couple things that were not perfect, and we have laughed about it - nothing serious. First, the TV in our room turned itself on intermittently the entire stay. I slept with the remote next to me, and would just turn the TV off if it woke me up. Second, we had a Nespresso machine in our room, but were only replenished with decaf pods. We even asked for more regular pods, and they brought us a whole bunch more decaf pods. I don't think the staff could tell the difference for some reason, but it was funny and they were trying very hard so we didn't say anything. If you want to stay in a wonderful, historic, slightly quirky hotel in South Beach, we recommend the Marlin.

Lovely hotel 3 minute walk to the beach. Spacious clean room with all amenities , clean modern bathroom. Comfortable bed, beach towels available. Didn’t have time to try the restaurant but apparently it’s rated one of the best in Miami. Close to restaurants and shopping area. No staff to help with cases up to the room, no umbrellas in lobby so we got soaked in a thunderstorm walking back from car park No valet parking but $20 a day public car park close by (and could park right outside the hotel to load / unload cases).

I enjoyed my stay

It was near the beach and had a very good restaurant.

Bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Pricing on in-room products was hard to understand. It was something like $27.00 a day for somethings, but I do not think it was everthing. The items were mixed together - I think they should have been labeled or something that you would be charged for, or put on a separate tray.

The hotel was clean, had a good location, relatively large room. The bed in the room was comfortable. The only one negative thing is that the room was a little dark.

Wonderful location and great accommodations.

Was on a girls trip with friends and decided to stay here. Location was great. Close to the beach. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was nice and big too. There were three of us girls on this stay. Very clean room. A lot of places to eat in the area but can be pricey. If you're into the bars/clubs seen there are a lot in the area from the hotel. Also, prior to booking this room, we were worried about it being too noisy because of the clubs and bars known on south beach but it was quiet. Overall, I would definitely book our next stay here again in the future :)

Great location. This hotel is situated above a bar, restaurant located 1 block from the beach. Walking distance to multiple bars restaurants and Lincoln mall. Convenience fee includes beach chair and umbrella which you need to carry to the beach.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Marlin Hotel property and overall, my experience was fantastic. The hotel offered a comfortable and stylish atmosphere, and the staff provided excellent service throughout my stay. The location was also convenient, with numerous restaurants in close proximity. The room itself was well-appointed and impeccably clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The amenities offered were top-notch, with a spacious bathroom and luxurious toiletries. The room also had a mini-fridge, which was great for keeping beverages and snacks cool. However, the only aspect that was missing from the room was a microwave. With the abundance of restaurants nearby, it would have been convenient to have a microwave in the room to heat up leftovers or prepare quick meals. While this was a minor inconvenience, it would have been a welcome addition to the room's amenities. Overall, my stay at the Marlin Hotel property was outstanding. The hotel's excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and prime location near various dining options made for a memorable experience. I love everything about my stay at The Marlin Hotel. David, Ada, and John had excellent customer service every time I asked for ice, beach chairs, or had any questions. The hotel is beautiful and the restaurant that is inside the hotel is also excellent! I enjoyed every moment of my stay.

Our stay was wonderful! The staff was so friendly, helpful, and the hotel was beautiful! The lobby is so unique, and really gives an eclectic and modern feel! Our room was clean, and beautiful! Would definitely stay again!

Pros: It is for adults only. I slept good. Location was great! Staff was friendly and polite. Cons: construction noise early am and the room was small. I kind of expected the room to be smaller than other hotels from my experience with other boutique type hotels.

Great stay, just noisy

Overall stay wat great. Only issue was the outside noise. Also in the hallway. Every sound from birds, music, people screaming, u can hear everything. But tge room was nice and modern setting.

Really nice boutique art deco hotel, one block back from the beach, room nice but small, staff friendly and helpful, the only downside is apart from the reception area their are no other internal hotel areas, which is not a problem as the ground floor space is taken up by a really nice italian restaurant, with really freindly staff, which as a solo traveller made dinner easy, and drinks v easy, although they are not open for breakfast, but there are lots of local options for that within a few blocks.

We loved our stay at the Marlin. Friendly and helpful staff, spacious room, two blocks from the beach, *truly* exceptional restaurant downstairs… Being right on the beach, the hotel could use better soundproofing, but we will definitely be staying again.

2nd times a charm

This is our 2nd time staying and we are very pleased with the atmosphere, hospitality and cleaniness of the hotel. I recommend anyone stay here

This property is a treasure. However, one of the ladies at the desk could benefit from a customer service class. I felt the dark-haired lady was a bit unprofessional upon arrival. On the other hand, the blonde-haired lady was an absolute gem—very professional and extremely helpful. Overall, the stay was great. The location is very convenient and safe, just one block from the beach. The rooms were clean and updated. I would definitely stay here again when in the Miami area.

I loved the property. It was a last minute booking due to the fact that my flight got canceled. I am glad I booked this hotel. It is a little gem. The room was very cozy with great amenities. I loved the coffee machine (pods) and the robes. Izzy at the Front Desk was very professional and helpful. I would love to go back under better circumstances.
