Very good, not great.

Easy location for seeing the sights of Berlin. Modern hotel, near to a large shopping mall, short walk to Checkpoint Charlie and the Brandenburg Gate. Hotel is very clean, rooms spacious. Just lacked that vibe though, which was a shame. Still a great choice though

We stayed for the holidays and the trip was perfect. Walking distance to Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Place and Unter den Linden, but also great connections by bus and subway right in front of the hotel entrance. All the staff where very nice and the whole trip was perfect. We really enjoyed having a balcony in the city center.

The suite is large and clean. Location is excellent. Wonderful breakfast. I expected that the use of the sauna should be free for the guests of the hotel.

Fantastic hotel, wonderful rooms, staff were perfection, location excellent. Couldn't fault this hotel, it was such a great stay.

The hotel is great,the staff is very helpful. I was very surprised how the breakfast box was presented to me. The sandwiches and cookies were not packed, there was no napkin, a bottle of orange juice was simply placed on top of the food. Everything looks unhygienic, it could not be used

Everything about this hotel is outstanding. I have stayed at the Ritz Carlton and Grand Hyatt in Berlin but the Mandala is better. Thank you once again for an amazing stay!

Fabulous stay at The beautiful Mandala Hotel!

What a beautiful hotel! Also very centrally located. The suite we stayed in was very clean, modern and spacious. Bathroom was amazing, with separate bath and shower. There was loads of storage space so you could keep everywhere looking tidy. They had the best hotel hairdryer I ever tried! Even had a kitchen area with fridge. There was a lovely balcony looking over a central area. The beds were extremely comfortable and they had an extensive pillow menu. This hotel definitely lives up to its 5 star rating. Could not fault anything. Would absolutely recommend.

Our stay was amazing , it's our 7th time and we really enjoy it there, the breakfast there is the highlight of the place and the facil restaurant in the evening.

Excellent hotel

The property was very nice and the room was nice as well. We got an executive suite because of the balcony which actually had 2! However we never used them due to the chilliness and also I thought we would be facing the street not just a wall of green. The biggest issues we had were the lack of a coffee machine. Even the most basic hotels have a coffee machine. I read reviews where the hotel responded they have them you should’ve asked. I don’t think we need to ask, rooms should all have it. I knew there was a Michelin star restaurant on site however I thought we would be able to get a normal breakfast. The breakfast was nothing special it was normal but at a price of $35€ pp it’s outrageous. So we had to walk every morning to find something. That was a big negative for me. The bar is on the second floor and laid out in kind of an awkward manner since the hotel is like a flat room going side to side with no depth on those floors. All in all the front desk was very nice and helped us with dinner reservations. The room was comfortable.

It was a wonderful stay in Berlin. The location of the hotel is great. The room is spacious and very comfortable, the front desk is extremely helpful. One of the best hotels we stayed in Europe.

A great hotel. Staff walks you to the room for the first time. Surprise benefit - free washers, dryers and soap which is needed for travelers on a long European trip. Centrally located for Berlin sightseeing.

Simply stated, it is top notch hotel in all aspects. Yes, it is on the higher end of cost but one should never avoid paying for quality. I thank the staff again for all their assistance.

Best services you can hope for, every one was kind and nice. The room was great and had great planning as well to beaning bigger than the average hotels. Do not miss the fine food at the hotel breakfast!! it's a must take!

Luxury in the heart of city center Berlin

Luxury hotel in the heart of the city! So walkable to a lot of museums and shopping.

Wonderful hotel. Our room was exactly as the photographs. It was airy, spacious and very comfortable. The staff were happy and made you feel very welcome. Would stay here again on our return to Berlin.

I likes my stay a lot, the only disadvantage being the fact that very few places nearby stayed open late

Lovely hotel in great neighborhood. We walked everywhere but transportation right there! Lots of restaurants and shopping if you are into that. The staff was wonderful. Very quiet and luxurious room. Love the robes and IPad with all the information you might need at your fingertips. Walk in closet and lots of storage. Breakfast was phenomenal and the bar makes great drinks! Thanks.

This hotel is wonderful- the staff were lovely and considerate, the room was perfect and the location is ideal. It's perfectly located to find places to eat, see the Brandenburg Gate and the Reistag...and that is just the start! It's fab!

Luxury at Potsdamer Platz

One of my ‘go to’ hotels in Berlin. Nice large rooms with all mod-cons, great internet speed, comfortable, quiet, well-located and a great restaurant. Perhaps a little on the ‘pricey’ side but you get what you pay for to be honest. Rooms have a mini kitchen with hob, a few plates etc, sink and full fridge/freezer. Might be an idea to add a couple of pans though otherwise why have a hob?! Small problem with the bathtub this time took a tiny bit of shine off the 1-night stay. I would have complained but wasn’t worth it for the short stay. Reported to reception though and they were very apologetic.

Paid for a hotel got a serviced apartment

Everything about the hotel was excellent except that they have few 'public' areas. Their bar/ restaurant is small, lacking in atmosphere and offering a very limited food menu. The Facil restaurant with two Michelin stars and prices to match is not a feasible proposition for hotel guests. Hotel management seem to recognise this as they provide a kitchenette in the room. But no pots and pans!

Nice hotel, but WATCH out for extra fees

This is a nice hotel. Nice spacious rooms and good location. The gym is okay, not great. Gym is priority for me when I travel for business. Breakfast, like the gym, was good, but not great especially given the price. My biggest issue with Mandala is how they ding you for everything and have hidden charges that no other hotel I've stayed at in Berlin charges you for. I had a bad experience with this nickel and diming you issue, and their customer service was terrible on this front. I'm not sure how they pulled off a 5-star rating. Overall some good things, but the bad outweigh the good. I won't stay there again on future trips to Berlin.

This is an amazing hotel and a great value. The location is ideal for using transit system and many needs are easily met with a walk. The building is new and well maintained. The room was remarkable. It was set up to allow for almost any activity - work, tourism, sleep, entertainment. The closet space is enormous. Finally, the hotel staff couldn’t be any nicer and more helpful. I would return here anytime I was in Berlin.

We stayed for a week and it was the perfect place for a home away from home. Breakfast which we included was elegant and peaceful - a great start to each day.

An oasis of calm at Potsdamer Platz

The vast majority of things about this place were great. The welcome, the room size, the deal I achieved through Hotels.com, internet speed, cleanliness, breakfast and the location. I slept like a log and enjoyed the huge bath tub and shower. As it is a 5 star hotel, I feel I can be a little picky and, for me, the air-con was not up to the mark. Yes, it cooled the room but, in 32 degree heat outside, it needed more 'power'. I also question the need for a kitchen sink and cooker as nothing was provided to cook with. No plates, pans, cutlery etc. The minibar items were also very pricey, but I realise I had a choice of not to use them. I also missed a 'room directory' explaining the various switches for 'do not disturb', 'make up room' etc, so this was achieved by trial and error. However, these are all little things and I generally I enjoyed my stay and will, if the price is right, stay again.

OMG! What a great hotel! We were a family of five visiting Berlin for the first time, and I am Glad that we stayed at the Mandala Hotel (note that there is also a Mandala Suites that is different). The hotel is super modern and clean. We got two separate rooms that were very spacious. Each room has its own balcony and kitchenette. The location is fantastic- walking distance to great attractions; right next to several bus and train stations that takes you everywhere (Berlin has the #1 public transit system in the world and we used it a lot, even to go to Potsdam for the day and to go to the airport easily). The hotel is right next two several restaurants of all kind - from fancy to very casual. There is a supermarket two blocks away. The staff is super helpful, courteous and respectful. I would stay here again without hesitation.

We had a brilliant stay in Berlin, and found the Mandala hotel staff really hospitable and welcoming. The location is perfect for anyone wanting to explore the city, and the Potsdamer Platz area has lots of really good bars, restaurant and coffee shops. Our room was spacious, modern, comfortable and very clean - one very slight gripe was that the air conditioning doesn’t go below 20 degrees. The breakfast was really nice with good variety and we can recommend sitting outside where there are calming water features. Would definitely stay here again

Great room, great food

Nothing but good things to say about this property!

I have traveled to over 30 countries and stayed at hundreds of hotels. I rarely give negative reviews as you can see in my profile. I was extremely disappointed with the staff at both the restaurant and front desk. At the restaurant I was treated very poorly. When asked to make reservations at their Michelin star restaurant I was looked up and down and asked if I was sure that I was asked if I knew what restaurant I was at. When I assured them that I knew, I was then presented with the menu and asked to look it over again. How embarrassing. After assuring them again, I was told that they did not have any openings and they would call me. They then never asked me for my phone number! We showed up anyway and went at lunch time and there were plenty of spots. My son and I enjoyed our lunch. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. They certainly had many of availability. Additionally, when I checked in I was told that breakfast was included. Upon checkout I was charged over $100 for breakfast and told it was NOT included!! Unreal. They were very rude. Beautiful property but the staff was the opposite. For this reason, I would not suggest staying here. In fact, there are many of other great hotels in the area. Stay far away! Not worth it!!!

A five star hotel at four star prices.

The hotel manager basically kicked me out for complaining that the AC was broken during the night. Although a refund was offered the tone and disrespect to leave the property in 30 minutes was unparalleled. The rooms are more suitable for a hospital. Do not let the affordable rates ruin your experience in Berlin. Avoid at all costs.

Overall wonderful. A few small misses… a couple of housekeeping slips, and no refills of chocolates etc. But all in all it’s great.

an excellent hotel. faciity is modern and service is kind and efficient. fairly priced. the few weaker points are: elevators (only 2 that also serve the restaurant on the 5th floor), mattress was just OK and same for the towels

My husband and I had a very comfortable stay at the Mandala for three nights in December. The location was superb. The room was big, clean, and well maintained. Amenities were outstanding. I personally liked the walk-in closet. Will stay here again in the future. Thank you!

Great location, super helpful staff at front desk. Very spacious room with all basic amenities provided. Loved the walk-in closet! Only issue was housekeeping knocking on my door when I had the "do not disturb" light on - two consecutive days in a row.
