Walking distances to train and bus station. There is a bit of a walk up stairs with luggage. No elevator. The rooms are named after different places in area. The one downside is the dinning area needed reservations and stop food early. Luggage storage great. Communication prior to visit was amazing. Would stay there again and overall enjoyed visit.
Overnight stay
A lovely stay & my only regret was that I hadn’t booked a table for an evening meal so we had to go elsewhere.
Great for a Father & Son break
Really enjoyable place to stay for a Saturday night. Nice and quiet to. My son and I had a great time. The veggie breakfast was so tasty too.
Great Location
Fantastic location and room 3 was quiet. Room was fine except there was no outlet for hairdryer next to a mirror. If you need or like to dry your hair in front of a mirror then this room isn’t for you. The staff were pleasant and the hotel was overall great bargain for what we paid. The hallways were honestly a mess and they need a revamp. You get what you pay for. The senior menu is offered to those over 60 y/o. Do not get the prawns and cold French fries. Prawns were fried and just like warm. My mistake I should have ordered from main menu.
The location of the Longboat Inn is fantastic (very close to the train station and in downtown Penzance). The beer selection is great and the staff were great (particularly Ryan). The rooms are small and we had difficulty getting any hot water in the morning.
Parking is not available at the property, it cost 10.50 for overnight parking. Room was basic and in dire need of refurbishment, black mold in shower and inadequate flow. Dining was average, a request for bread rather than crackers on a cheese board was denied with a comment that we don’t have bread!!! Blatantly untrue as bread was served with soup. Breakfast again basic although the chef and waiter did everything to be obliging. Noisy at night as traffic continually flowing by.
Amazing place. Rooms moting too special but we knew that. We just wanted a bed to rest near the train station. But we got a nice quite room with a nice view of the sea. The bus station and train station was 1min walk. Lots of food places and local shops. The Inn had a good breakfast they taylored for our vegan requests. Their lunch and dinner menu had lots of veg and vegan options and specials. Always check the specials! Plus, nearby was a lovely Indian restaurant serving food inspired from Rajastan. And we found a Chinese serving lots of vegan dishes. We asked about how it was being prepared and cooked and our vegan waitress said she helps prepare any of the veg and vegan dishes and that it is cooked separately just like if you have an allergy. Most importantly it was chap and tasty. Overall, this Inn was the best place for us and we would stay there again.
Good value, nr Station and quay for Scillonian boa
Cosy room but overlooked garden so a little noisy till about 10.15. Bed a bit small - should have used single as well!
Great hotel with really good food. The room was a bit too hot at night.
Great owner & super friendly, attentive staff. Located one block from the Penzance train station. Breakfast included was hearty & delicious. Dinner one evening, also wonderful. Staying in this multi-hundred year old Inn was like being in Penzance when our grandparents lived there 💙
Very friendly staff. Ruth was particularly helpful.
Great Location
Great service - love the location.
Clean room and friendly staff
Really handy from the station
The Longboat Inn, Penzance
I stayed at the Longboat Inn, Penzance. following a recommendation. Great place for a convenient location - two minutes walk from train station. Helpful obliging staff, food was very good, selection of beers, clean and comfortable room. - I can recommend this place
Nice staff
Good location and staff were friendly
A second visit to the Longboat and it didn't disappoint, staff very friendly and helpful, room lovely and clean, towels changed daily if required, breakfast was very good value for money, only one small point, could of done with some coat hooks on wardrobe door to hang wet coats up as it was a bit wet during our stay ,that aside we had a great break and we will be back again soon. Many thanks, Craig and Dawn Johnson.
The staff were extremely helpful
You won't be disappointed
Great place with Great staff and very good food.
Window in room left open until arrival, despite outside temperatures being about 1 degree. Heating took a while to kick in.
Very convenient, train station a few steps away and so was the bus station. Happy and welcoming staff and good pub food. Will definitely recommend for anybody who had a long journey by train, so convenient. Credit to the manager and his staff.
The check in time was a nightmare for an inn. A bo x and findng the key...are you kidding.
A very cute pub/hotel steps away from train and bus station. Even though the rooms were on top of a pub downstairs, it was quiet. The beds were comfortable and plenty of hot water for hot showers. This hotel includes a nice breakfast which was a nice way to start a day.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was basic but clean and bed was comfortable
I loved staying at this beautiful old pub. The staff were welcoming the moment we open the front door. The food at the restaurant was really tasty and fresh. Especially loved the tomato basil soup. The room was large and came with a good array of amenities. I definitely would stay here again.
Staff were very attentive and helpful even though we only had a flying visit.
We chose this hotel because of the proximity to the train station for our trip back to London. Price was very reasonable, room was comfortable and quiet, meals were very good, staff were attentive
The room was clean and private although the street noise was high at times. The cleaning staff was helpful and friendly as were some of the wait staff. Others were not helpful for 2 visitors who were unaccustomed to the dining routines. We could have used a fridge in the room. It was an “okay” stay.
Hygiene was the main issue. Shower had multiple long hairs in it when we got in the room. A dirty rag was left on the bedside table after they ‘cleaned’. The whole place needs a deep clean as many corners/surfaces/floors are not clean. The location was great but I wouldn’t stay here again.
Great location for train, bus and ferry access. Close to town centre. Very warm welcome, good breakfast and excellent service. Clean rooms but slightly shabby and in need of some refurbishment.
Very good night after long day getting back from Scilly Isles and delayed ferry. Bed and breakfast excellent
The room was very comfortable. The facilities were excellent.
Warm, cozy, comfortable inn - great value
I was very pleased with the Longboat Inn. I arrived after a hard day walking the Coastal Path and the first impression was that the Longboat Inn is a warm, cozy, comfortable place - both downstairs in the bar/restaurant and in my room. The building is old and quirky but very clean and comfortable. My single room was at the back of the building and had a view of an ugly alley. However, the room itself was fine. It was warm and clean with tea and coffee provided. The bathroom was surprisingly large. It had a big window so it was full of light. That window was frosted for privacy which also had the benefit of hiding the ugly alley. The bed was one of the most comfortable I came across during my time in Cornwall. I was surprised that breakfast was included in my room price. The breakfast was great. The location is great - in the middle of town, a couple of mins from the bus station and a Tesco Express. Despite being the only place that did not put my delivered bag in my room, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Overall the Longboat Inn was a great choice.
Easy to find lovely staff
Only stayed 1 night. Convenient for railway station which is almost directly opposite. I arrived very late due to train cancellations but staff were excellent, understood and let me check in via a lockbox system even though it was way beyond check in hours. Nice room with en suite and good breakfast.
Lovely and convenient stopover
Fabulous location for a stopover on the way to the Scillies. It is a couple of minutes from the railway station and less than ten minutes to the ferry. The pub and restaurant are friendly with good service and food. Book a table before you arrive as they get busy!
I got a bit confused about the location because I remembered it as ‘The Railway Tavern’ where I had waited for trains, but that was about 50 years ago! So, I wasn’t expecting to be quite that close to the station, but actually, external noise was not a problem. The internal noise was not too bad and it stopped at midnight. I would have liked to know that there was an EV charging point in the adjacent public car park before I checked out in the morning.
Best most welcoming folks! Comfortable and special place for we two cousins to land at end of travel day, close to everything we need. Delightful people and charming pub
This wonderful place was exactly what we needed after a long day of travel. Across the street from the train station and car rental place. Good British food and pub downstairs. Cozy room with a warm blanket was great!
Dirty nets on the windows with dead insects in them, wasps flys etc. the bed was extremely uncomfortable, I could see the sheets had been washed but they were very stained. The toilet seat was also clean but very stained. The television is a distant away from the bed, as it is sick a small tv; it on was difficult to see/watch it. Overall the room looked a dirty magnolia, it definitely needs updating. I was disappointed.
It was warm and cozy. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Lovely var and restaurant abd the location was perfect. Walking distance of shops, cafes, transport and close to the sea front.
Happy days
I had a lovely and spacious single en suite room. Breakfast was very good. Excellent location and a very nice pub. Definitely stay again next time I'm in Penzance.
Very nice hotel in central part of Penzance near railway station and bus station. Dinner and breakfast were excellent!
Well located to bus and train, clean and quiet. Excellent stay and breakfast!
Cornish weekend
Very handy for rail and bus stations, only 2 mins away. Staff professional & friendly. Room comfortable and quiet, considering how close it is to the centre of town. Shower not powerful enough, but temperature control worked fine. Breakfast very nice with decent quality bacon & sausages. Would recommend.
One night
Good stay. Friendly. Helpful with bike parking.
A very good service
Friendly staff!
I really enjoyed my 2 night stay. The location is spot on, just next to the Penzance train station and 1 minute walk to the central bus station. Restaurants and shops are just a couple of minutes walk. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Highly recommended.
The bedroom was our bubble with no staff in it during our stay. Public areas were well cared for. The bedroom was well furnished and comfortable. Only minor quibble was the tiny bathroom sink. Food was very good.
What can I say
One night stop over before returning to Isles of Scilly
Brilliant food and very friendly and helpful staff
Warm welcoming staff, clean room, comfy bed and pleasantly quiet. What more could you ask for!
Check this Inn out!
This was a very nicely located Inn. It is right across from the train station/ bus station (visitor center), and harbor parking area. The full-English breakfast was our best in Cornwall. The rooms themselves describe ideal areas of Cornwall and the hotel is in a great location of many desirable Cornwall attractions. We really hope you give this Inn a chance AND that you enjoy it as much as we did!
The longboat inn was such a lovely stay! Right next to the train station and on the street of the town. Has a cool cinema room and beer garden, rooms are of good standard and kept nice. Great staff, with lots of information provided when checked in.
Great stay
Really great stay; warm welcome from Ryan, the manager. Nice room, couldn’t fault it. Breakfast included in my stay, perfectly edible, and all staff very kind and helpful. Absolutely fantastic location, just behind the train station, short walk to buses and the sea.
Nice hotel, unreliable shower
The hotel and room are very clean and comfortable, however the shower uses an instant electric heating system. When I woke up, there was no power to the shower. I had to go downstairs (staff don't answer the phone at breakfast) to report the issue. Came back to my room after breakfast and the shower was fixed.... until the power tripped again mid-shower. If you want a cold shower, this is the place for you!
Location
Great place to stay great location run bun friendly staff
Room was fine for a nights stay.
Reat for overnight stay
A very nice experience, the food was excellent the room was a little old fashioned as was the bathroom but everything was clean and tidy and all staff were observing covid 19 rules re: masks and distancing.
Very friendly staff. Easy to get to the town centre and lots of restaurants.
Staff were great. Food good and hotel pleasant.
Lovely stay
Friendly Staff, very clean and a lovely breakfast. Excellent value for money and a perfect location
Fabulous place
Fantastic place, friendly staff, delicious food. We were only there for one night and can’t fault the place. Would definitely return in the future.
Wonderful place to stay
Everybody was very pleasant and helpful. Good location with some smaller restaurants nearby. The pub is hopping with locals and quite alive during games. Good restaurant at the Inn with big Cornish breakfast.
Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed and sparkling clean bedding. Food good
Good staff, clean, bit dated, GREAT BEDS, V COMFY, great nights sleep. Sometimes a stale smell in corridors.
Excellent location just around the corner from the train station. Staff were very helpful and friendly and food very good. The bedroom we had was compact, particularly the bathroom where access would perhaps have been better if the door opened outwards into bedroom, but very clean with a comfy bed and heavy curtains to block out sunlight. Would happily stay here again if visiting the area😊
A good few days
We enjoyed our stay at this busy pub. Rooms were clean and beds comfy. The bathroom was good apart from the toilet having a macerator which was noisy and you could hear these from other rooms during the night which was a bit annoying. The only other slight gripe was that the Inn only had full cream milk and no other, (we did ask for semi or skimmed), in the rooms and the breakfast room, so we had to buy locally to enjoy our tea.in the room. But those besides, we would stay here again as very handy for the train and bus station just across the road and most shops were just up the road.
The location is convenient to bus and rail stations, the town centre. The staff were all very polite, friendly and professional. The room was spotless as was the bedding and towels etc. The variety of products for making hot drinks is the best I have seen in a hotel in several years. The Longboat also provided bathroom accessories, again something which is fast becoming a rarity these days. All food was well presented, of good quality and at the correct temperature. All in all I would happily recommend The Longboat and intend staying there again myself.
The hotel rooms were numbered and then named after local villages, the food was good the staff were very friendly, The en-suite bathroom was very cramped and there was a very poor WiFi connection which the staff said was an ongoing problem
Nice and close to train station. Very friendly staff. Great seletion of food. I would recommend the Long boat hotel.
The inn is a perfect place to enjoy Cornish hospitality. The bar is very lively and the room is nicely decorated and cleaned.
The property was fine when I eventually found it. It was nearly 8pm and the property was shrouded in blue net, so nothing like the picture! (I realise this was there as part of an improvement scheme)
Friendly staff. Great breakfast included. Our room has a bath! Ask about parking before you arrive it took us a while to find a good place for the car. Yay.
Very conveniently located near station for an overnight stay before going on to Isles of Scilly
excellent customer service and friendly staff. Only down side was the toilets in the rooms had a very loud and very smelly plumbing system. otherwise everything was clean and a well organized. Breakfast was terrific. Dinner was enjoyable and not overly expensive. Would come back although might ask for a different room!
Great location near town centre and rail station, friendly staff, nice breakfast. Rooms small but perfectly formed and any noise from the pub downstairs was not a problem at all
Nice place for a few days stay in Cornwall
We chose the Longboat for its nearness to the train and bus stations plus central to the town and we chose well! The bathroom in Room 10, needs renovation but hopefully that is being done before too long. Otherwise we were very happy with everything especially the food and service. We are there every evening and were very pleased especially with the fish dishes. There is an in-house cinema showing a film of an evening which is a nice addition to the facilities. It is also free!! Sadly we had to leave yesterday but we can certainly recommend the Longboat
Ideal location and good value
Great location for the train and connecting to the Isles of Scilly. Great value, friendly staff and clean room
Comfortable stay close to station
The accommodation suited us as we had planned a late arrival and early departure by train; the Longboat is immediately opposite Penzance station. Our room was comfortable and clean but even though we faced on to the side street, there was some noise intrusion. The one drawback was the en-suite bathroom which, being very small, was overwhelmed by a large shower enclosure and included a very small hand basin, resulting in a cramped facility. To save time, we normally use the bathroom together but this was not practical here. Breakfast was served buffet style in a room alongside the main bar and was plentiful with a good selection of cereals, hot food, tea, coffee and juices. All-in-all a good choice which we would use again.
We stayed here only for one night and it was in a perfect location - very close to the railway station and to the bus station too. As we arrived by train and took a bus the next morning, that was extremely convenient, we did not have to lug our luggage around. The staff were very friendly and efficient, check in quick and breakfast was very nice.
Central location good, but tricky to reach as on one way system.parking down the road in public carpark. Hotel etc great, staff lovely
Very close to railway station, so very easy to get around by that means of transport.
The room was spacious and clean. The staff very friendly. While it was close to railway and bus station, it was not noisy. Car rental was near station also. We would recommend it to family and friends.
Tired and dated with old inefficient plumbing. Bathroom drain did not smell good. Toilet flush not mains and very noisy. Parking was public car park approx 50 yards away across road. Bed was comfortable. Staff pleasant. Overall not a good experience.
Very convenient for catching the Scillonian! Free overnight car parking close by.
Exceeded expectations in all respects. Food excellent and all staff very friendly and efficient.
Enjoyed my stay
Great staff! Super little room, just what I needed. Thank you.
An excellent location close to station. A good room and facilities. Good freshly cooked breakfast.
I like the first impression I had of the hotel, and it is close to both the railway and bus station. Staff were really friendly and obliging, nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice including fresh cooked Cornish Breakfast. There was nothing that I did not like about this Hotel. I am not sure if it is wheelchair friendly with regards to the accommodation. It was not until I spoke to a friend about this hotel and she is in a wheelchair that I realised I did not ask about that.
Front desk clerk was great, morning staff was awesome. The cook in the restaurant was rude and inconsiderate. His comment when I walked in with my wife was very rude.
Convenient location
Excellent service from friendly staff
Ideal Again
Having stayed here before so new what to expect, again it ticked all the boxes. Located close to station which is my reason for choosing here as travelled by train to Penzance. Clean, comfortable rooms well fitted out, good breakfast buffet with hot & cold choices. Staff very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable of area.
First time in Penzance
Can't beat the location. It's right across the road from the railway station Friendly and efficient staff Great food at reasonable prices Room was clean and comfortable Wifi signal in the room was weak. However,it was OK downstairs in the bar
Very handy for the station, a 1 minute walk. Friendly and helpful staff and the evening meal in the bar was good and value for money.
Perfect
Very nice, friendly, polite, honest and caring staff, very delicious food and very nice room.
