This was a great location.
I really enjoyed my stay! The staff was incredibly helpful. They seemed shortstaffed in the restaurant, so that was a little challenging at times. You could have an espresso and croissant in the morning at the lobby bar, which was handy. The entire design and decor of this hotel is fabulous. It’s very hip and Eclectic. Getting a cab was never a problem. The view from the rooftop bar is amazing and photo worthy. My only disappointment was that the pool is extremely small and you have to reserve or pay for any kind of seating. There was absolutely none available when I was there for five days in September. From my experience, I would say this property really attracts a very young traveler.
Loved it
This was an amazing place. Love the roof top. Would stay there again
I loved everything about it!
Very nice hotel, good location, close to the shopping mall. Close to the tram and metro. We went in November and still just about warm enough to use the pool (if from the UK). Was well lit and safe. Room was nice and the showers were amazing. You had to request room service to make up the room if you wanted new towel or the bed made but overall very nice.
The hotel is lovely, well designed with a great rooftop and restaurants. The rooms are pretty spacious and the staff are great. They have a WhatsApp guest service which is really easy to use. Free bike rental is also really good to get out and see the city. The hotel is about a half hour walk out of the centre of Barcelona but there is a tram and metro service nearby if you don’t want to walk.
Excellent
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great vibe about the place. It’s a little out from the heart of the city, but has excellent transportation. Happily book to stay again.
Very cute hotel. Staff was super friendly and very helpful. The mall is right across the street with plenty of dining options and shopping of course. Also loved the rooftop, enjoy some cocktails and enjoy the view of the Sagrada familia
This hotel was a miss. This is our 3rd time staying at a hoxton chain and we really felt DISSAPOINTED after our stay at this one. We let the hotel know in advance that we were there on our honeymoon and not one thing was done to welcome us, even a greeting card would have been a warm touch. This was our 5th hotel of our honeymoon and every single one had gone out of their way to do something for us to make us excited and honestly, overall chance the experience for us. The lobby was lovely, as they typical are at hoxtons but truly everything else was a miss. We came back to our room around 3pm one of the days and our room wasn’t cleaned, we rested and then left for dinner around 7. We asked that someone come back and they said they’ll send a quick service as the cleaning staff was gone. Why that was done until 3pm is odd. Won’t be staying again and they have lots of work to do around their customer service and valuing their customers we stay with them.
Our stay was great! The hotel is beautiful and the staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. My only issue was the beds were too soft for me and the pillows get flat very quickly. Other than that, the stay was near perfect!
Enjoyed our stay
Cool decor, great customer service
Excellent staff. Great view. Metro short walk across the street. Only sour note was the pounding room vibrating music from rooftop bar on Saturday night. It lasted until 1:30am!
Great staff and location and rooftop bar
Hoxton is 25 mins from Centre City public transport but in a modern and up coming area in Barcelona. Only 18 mins walk to Sagrada Familia. Hoxton bar as fabulous views of Sagrada Familia too! Hotel modern, breakfast included for us which was very good and staff friendly. Rooms comfortable and good size. Would have loved better coffee in room but downstairs free with breakfast or purchase at bar. Would stay there again and I can’t emphasize that the public transportation is excellent. Get google or city maps and buses and metro so easy!
I came to the property with a room upgrade because we had three people sharing the space. Unfortunately my friend got sick so she couldn’t come any longer leaving us with just 2 people. I asked the staff to downgrade us and she agreed she would. At check in they ask if you would like your room serviced daily by house keeping. After day 2 coming home we noticed the room was never cleaned the first day nor the second. I ran down to ask what was wrong and they said they would look into it. Our room was only cleaned on the 4th day. Had to have maintenance come to our room and fix our AC cause the room never got comfortable. At these rates I feel like there are a lot that went wrong and left us tired. Won’t stay again
The view from the rooftop was spectacular which incĺuded the Sagrada Familia. The rooftop with its two bar areas was great. The pool was a bit cold to make it an enjoyable experience. The sitting places around the pool too costly. Didn't see too many people around the pool. Perhaps heating the pool using solar technology might help.
Gorgeous hotel. I'm very happy we stayed here. Safe neighborhood, close enough to walk to tons of stuff and good restaurants and shopping close by
The choice of food was limited
This was the last stay of our 15 year anniversary trip to Spain. Unfortunately, this was the only hotel that did not recognize this and make even a warm welcome. We ordered room service and the order came up incorrect. I advised the associate and she stated she would fix it, but then brought it back again incorrect. Only item that was missing was the chicken, but it was brought back with cheese??? We had to take it down to the restaurant to get the correct dish. Lastly, i booked using my Amex and this hotel is a preferred hotel with them. There are benifits that come with that. Upon checking in, the person assisting us confirmed i would receive these benifits upon checkout. This includes a credit for food/drinks which is why we ordered room services versus going out. Upon check out, they told me they would not honor it due to me booking thru Expedia and not with Amex directly! Overall the service and misleading communication from the staff are the reason for the low scores for this property. There are many properties to choose from so I’d suggest looking around the area.
Style over substance - everything looked beautiful but under the glossy surface, this hotel wasn’t as luxe as it likes to think! Be aware that the pool is open to non-guests and you can only really relax by it if you pay to have a lounger. There is no Netflix or similar. In room amenities are basic. Food and drink average. Note the images on the Expedia page are misleading - you can only see the Sagrada Familia from very specific bits of the hotel (if you crane your neck!) Overall a lovely hotel, but it could do with being a bit more honest so your expectations are correct going in!
Lovely hotel and neighbourhood
We really enjoyed our stay in The Hoxton, lovely neighbourhood and the decor of the hotel was beautiful. You do need to pay for using the sunbeds but felt it was worth it given service and food / cocktails up there.
Excellent hotel close to the metro station. Close cab/uber ride to the Center. Great rooftop with awesome view of Sagrada Familia
Beautiful hotel, amazing staff, and the food was delicious! Would definitely stay here again.
Loved the service wasn’t the biggest fan of the pool. It was a bit small and I don’t believe guests should have to pay to access the pool.
Hoxton Poblenou is very nicely decorated but too Minimalist for my liking. I like to have drawers, shelves, closet for lengthier stays. Staff were very nice and helpful. Location required transportation for most tourist spots except La Saguarda. Lots of young people at this hotel enjoying what the hotel offered.
This hotel is “eco friendly”, which means the air conditioning is almost shut off throughout the day in the guest rooms, this is annoying considering it’s extremely hot in August. I personally had to call the front desk multiple times because our room was 29 degrees celsius. The toilet paper is also like sandpaper which is weird. The rooftop pool was great, I did love the fact that you can only reserve for a specific time, this eliminates guests leaving their towels and disappearing for the whole day. The bar staff were a bit over worked and almost made you feel guilty ordering drinks and food.
A great vibe
Love the hotel rooftop bar and pool. The boutique style was unique and inviting. Would stay here again if the opportunity presents itself
Great hotel, not a great location, pool was expensive to book and food at pool was bad but pool staff and bar was great
The customer service is what made this hotel a great experience! The hotel is perfect walking distance from many places such as the beach and across the street there’s a shopping plaza. Definitely recommend!
El servicio Gracias Arturo
Great place to stay, it has everything you would like, walkable, convenient, shopping, dining, the hotel is super cool and with design. Bare in mind that the pool has a cost of consumption.
Very roomy, modern, chic. Wonderful location. walking distance from the Sagradia Familia. Not a big fan of the pool, but the staff and everything else was wonderful.
Beautiful property just like other locations we have visited in Europe. The only thing most of Hoxton locations are a bit further away from main attractions. Yet, still will be top choice whenever we travel.
Nice hotel with very attentive staff. The only issue is the rooms need someplace to store your clothes. Had to live out of my suitcase while there.
Loved the rooftop deck! Wonderful views of the city with a nice breeze. The staff here is fantastic - super helpful. Loved the lobby area as well. Close to a metro station so fairly easy to get around.
Roof top is beautiful and hotel is very clean and close to everything
The hotel itself is beautiful but the staff are completely rude. Also - they should not be advertising that they have a pool when you can only use it if booked (we had a 3 day stay) so we could not book as it was already booked. There is also a 40 euro charge per bed as min spend if you do luckily get one. The girls at the pool are so rude. They treat you like you’re asking for a huge favour to use the pool when you have paid $450 a night for the room. Would never stay here again. And suggest you find alternative accommodation.
This property is located near transportation, mall and tourist attraction. The front desk staff was amazing and very helpful!
Pleasant Experience
Great hotel! Nice spacious room, comfy bed, overall pleasant experience.
We loved it such a cute boutique hotel and the staff was very friendly!
Lovely hotel. Aimed at short breaks as limited storage for clothes.
The roof terrace was a great touch to have at the hotel. We enjoyed a pool dip after a day exploring in the city. Reasonably located and close to a metro station too to head out exploring.
Very comfortable hotel
Stylish hotel, with a small rooftop pool. Rooms are a good size and beds are very comfy. Would recommend this hotel
Very good hotel. Highly recommended if you want two different ambiances for the family. We got a room with two bedrooms and it was the most spacious and convenient from our trip. The locations is great because it is away from the touristy side of the city but that could also be a drawback. We moved around by taxi or cabify which is not bad but if you want everything within walking distance this might not be the one.
Beautiful hotel, gorgeous roof terrace with stunning views, just perfect :-)
Staff was very nice and helpful. Reviewed map in the area! Rooms nice and clean but small
A little bit too cool for school. This hotel appears to be so keen to capture the "local cool" market that in doing so it forgets about its paying guests. Having paid over €430 for a room we were asked to spend another €80 to get a seat around the pool for a 3 hour slot. Check in was slow. Staff are not overly friendly. Would not go back.
Place to stay chill enjoying the hotel !
Its a hotel to enjoy the hotel amenities. Love the decor, but no closet or drawers. Its very unconfortable about it. Its a place
Great location, beautiful hotel, friendly staff and lively atmosphere !!
Everything was good!
Great stay!
It was an amazing hotel experience. There was great food music and great staff.
Loved the design of the property. Very comfortable accommodations. Staff ran hot and cold. The fact that you have to pay for chairs by the pool is pretty lame.
Clean boutique hotel, comfortable amenities, great restaurant and rooftop bar with amazing views. Shopping mall across street. Close to hop on/hop off stop and metro. English speaking staff friendly and helpful.
If you like your breakfast avoid Hoxton
It is the best anticline. For the mornings I have ever experienced: the staff look confused, the breakfast menu changed everyday. One day cappuccino is included the next day it’s not ….. Everything dumped on the table at the same time, with somethings missing altogether. Awful experience.
Cool and clean hotel. However the tv was not working.
Outstanding service! Will stay there again!!
The service was very poor. Views of Sagrada only from one small part of the roof. Guests had to pay for pool access! Rubbish place will not stay again
I love this place
We were supposed to check in at 2 pm as stated in the website. We got there early but waited and was told at 1:30 the guests had just checked out. Check out is supposed to be 12 noon. We were unable to get into our room until almost 3:30 and I had to keep asking to see if it was ready. Very poor service as we saw multiple people checking out as late as 2:30! Was told they do NOT do late checkout but yet we couldn’t get into our room because of people checking out late. Seems like they need to enforce their rules. Also the door handle on the bathroom was broken, the door didn’t shut all of the way. The price for the room seemed very expensive for the lack of good service.
Overall, our stay was quite average. While the hotel boasts a beautiful aesthetic, several issues detracted from our experience. **Pros:** - The hotel itself is stunning and well-designed, with very comfortable beds. - The rooftop pool is a nice feature. **Cons:** - The hotel is extremely loud. It's not ideal for relaxation, as noise from the outdoor bar continues late into the night and early morning cleaning starts around 6 am. - Guests are required to pay 40€ for a pool chair, with designated time slots of either 11 am-3 pm or 3 pm-7 pm. This charge was not disclosed during booking and felt inappropriate. - The pool area is small, with very cold water, and the bathrooms emit a strong sewage odor. - The rooftop restaurant is understaffed, resulting in rushed and rude service. - Service is only available on one side of the rooftop. Otherwise, guests must walk across to place orders and carry items to their tables. In conclusion, I would not return to or recommend this hotel. Despite its beautiful design, it falls short in many key areas. For the price, I would seek accommodations with higher quality and better service.
It was a great place to stay, I feel the only thing that disappointed us was as a guest you still had to pay for the subbed by the pool. The 40 euro per lounger entitled you to tacos and two drinks but this did not justify the price. The wine measures were small and if you went two days running the menu was not a great it was very small and not great for my son. The pool was great and the staff were great but it was an expense that did not deliver! X
Perfect for solo traveler!
The hotel was amazing for a solo traveler! It was super trendy and had everything I needed. The staff at the rooftop restaurant can be a little more attentive though, I sat at a table and the staff all stared at me, knew I was there but didn’t come over to bring a menu, ask if I needed anything. A group came in after me and the were acknowledged and received menus right away. Other than that experience everything was amazing and I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Barcelona!
Spacious Room
Rooms were very clean and spacious! Beautiful design and location was convenient and close to La Sagrada.
Beautiful hotel and in a great part of town! Super close to the metro. Just a heads up that if you want a more mellow check in, the music is BUMPING after about 7pm in the lobby. Not really our vibe but we couldn’t hear it from our room (which was only one floor up) so not a huge complaint.
Great stay in Barcelona!
The hotel was close to many things including the cruise port. The staff was very helpful and kind! Great rooftop bar and restaurant. We stayed there two days befire heading out on a 18 day cruise!
I think they should seriously reconsider the volume of the music in the lobby. Rooftop bar unavailable 2 nights. Housekeeping serviced room 2 of 5 days.
Great location, excellent service love it super clean
The hotel was located in a great area of the city. The service and staff were very accommodating and friendly.
This hotel is well designed for couples and for business trips. Their rooftop bar has the best view. I will recommend it to anyone
The property was well maintained and all the workers were helpful and pleasant.
A pleasant family city break
We had a lovely few days at The Hoxton and the hotel was a gem in the terrible weather while we were in Barcelona. The Tiny Hox pack provided for our toddler was great. It was disappointing there was no bedding for the cot provided, our 2 year had to sleep with towels. I would also provide a word of warning about the pool, you can only use it between 7am and 10:30am, unless you wish to pay. This is very misleading on the website and should be better advertised.
Just like its sister hotel in Rome, stay here for the vibe. The location is pretty central too. However the services are meh for the price. Shortage of water; slow staff at breakfast, low quantity of bikes to rent. Given this and that they hadn’t opened the rooftop yet, it’s expensive.
An excellent hotel in a very modern, trendy neighborhood, though a lot of new construction is still going on, which made the trip to the nearest metro station a bit of a slog. The Rambla Poblenou, leading down to the beach, is about a 15 minute walk away. There are a lot of excellent restaurants and bars nearby, but I highly recommend the Andrea cafe, right next door. Very casual, popular with locals and excellent paella. Finally, the rooftop pool area is beautiful but it was closed for much of my stay due to the rain. Will definitely check it out next time!
No complaints. Will be back soon!
The property itself and the rooms are really lovely and well-appointed. We also found the staff to be friendly and professional. However, the area is not super convenient for most tourist destinations especially if you like to return for siesta or be back before too late, made even more inconvenient at the moment because of a huge infrastructure project which makes the current metro entrance farther. There are not many quality restaurants in the immediate area, mostly just some not recommended chain ones at the normal mall across the street (walking too much farther afield becomes a bit sketchy). The hotel’s own restaurant is okay but not great, a slightly boring mix of dishes that does not really invite repeat visits. And the room service menu is even smaller. If the area nearby grows up a bit more and the transit construction finishes, we might return because the property itself is wonderful and the views to La Sagrada Familia are amazing. Otherwise, we will choose something with more neighborhood variety and quality.
A beautiful gem.
A truly beautiful hotel with friendly and really helpful staff. The beds are supremely comfortable and the rooftop space is such a luxury. A few things are a little style over substance such as rather heavy slamming bathroom doors. Additionally for such a high-quality hotel I would like to see coffee machines in the room rather than bag coffee and robes or slippers for comfort. Really pleased the rooms had the ability to open windows for fresh air but the location is rather noisy.
Incredible hotel, the only thing is there isn’t much around the hotel to do and the restaurant is just so-so. Weirdly only serves deep dish pizza, and other food options are pretty limited and expensive. Also, my husband got food poisoning eating in their restaurant. Hotel itself is great though.
Great hotel, really enjoyed my stay.
We really enjoyed our stay. It was not in the super touristy areas that are loud and overpopulated. We enjoyed the quiet yet closeness to all the attractions. Hotel was clean and trendy. Bed was comfy. We had the roomy tub room and it was great. Staff was nice and helpful. Walkable but easy access for taxis and tours. The hop on hop off tour picked up right around the corner and a museum was next door. Would recommend highly .
Funky and family friendly
Gorgeous styling, spacious room, comfy bed and awesome bar area and restaurant
Best hotel in Barcelona
The staff is very friendly. We visited from the USA and everyone we spoke to spoke fluent English. The hotel was nice and walking distance to the metro.
We enjoyed our days at The Hoxton Plobenou. The staff are incredibly nice. If I ever go back to Barcelona I would definitely would stay again with them. One day we have breakfast at the hotel and it was delicious. There is a mall walking distance and you can even walk to the beach because is so close by. Thank you to the staff of the hotel for your services.
Stunning hotel with great interiors, spacious rooms and gorgeous rooftop! A little further out from the centre of Barcelona and quite a bit of construction happening around, however around 15 mins in taxi or 2 stops on the tram so super accessible. Would stay again :)
Amazing stay- I will definitely be back.
This place is amazing. You will not regret your stay. It has a metro right next door as well as a shopping mall right across , and countless dining options nearby. The hotel is lively, clean, and the downstairs bar is always a good idea. The only thing to mention is that the roof top bar on the property called ‘Tope’, a mexican restaurant/ bar, is only open during the months of May- October and we did not see it posted anywhere, therefore we could not enjoy the rooftop bar , although the space was open so you can still enjoy the views. We we’re only able to enjoy the bar and the restaurant named ‘four corners’ on the first floor of the hotel. It is a great hotel with nice rooms and comfortable beds. Room service was a little slow but not too bad , food was great. I definitely recommend, especially during the months when the rooftop bar is open.
Truly amazing from start to finish! Already planning our next trip back :)
You looked after my parents so well, thank you!
My Mum and Dad stayed here for 6 nights, it was a gift for my Mums 70th birthday. The hotel was the highlight of their stay in Barcelona, they said it was amazing, the staff were fantastic, particularly housekeeping (my Dad used to be a hotel Manager and my Mum was Head Housekeeper so they have high standards) the roof garden was also a highlight of their stay and the area of Poblenau is very nice. The hotel left a card in their room wishing my Mother a Happy Birthday as I had mentioned it in an email. The hotel are easy to communicate with by phone as well, as we had some questions before we arrived. Thank you so much for looking after my parents and giving them such a lovely stay.
Mauro was fantastic
Staff are super friendly and helpful. Very welcoming as well the staff and hotel. Great walking distance to the metro. The breakfast was superb. Can’t fault any of it
Lovely hotel, very clean, great quality and nice touches to rooms. Location is great if you don’t mind being a bit away from the busy centre. 15 mins walk to Sagrada familia, through a nice park with a great kids playground. Really nice shopping centre near by that’s handy…. The breakfast is great as not a mass produced buffet but a freshly cooked selection from a menu. Four corners is a brilliant place for a pizza too
The reception staff and guest service manager Adriana was extremely rude patronising and racist! We were treated with discrimination and refused entry to restaurant whilst others were able to go in. No toiletries and when you ask for some you are dismissed. No slippers or robes or anything in the rooms not even a cotton bud or anything! Extremely disappointing and dissatisfied we went for Christmas and had to check out a day earlier as we did not feel safe and couldn’t leave our room unattended as staff would go in without permission and they basically wanted us gone! The staff were unhelpful and patronising can not believe how unprofessional the personnel was! Avoid at all costs!
I love how helpful everyone was at the vibe of the entire place is so comfortable and welcoming
Many different rotating poorly trained staff at front desk. One called room close to 10 at night to get ANOTHER credit card retainer for misc costs after I made another reservation for another night. Extremely loud party atmosphere every night downstairs.
I highly recommend this hotel. It was excellent in every way.
I think me and friends went at a bad time for the hotel. My stay wasn’t ideal. Check in wasn’t ready. We had to wait 3hours after check in time after a long flight. The water on the property didn’t work twice during our stay. They tried to accommodate but there were so much minor problems. The food wasn’t very good at the property. We were served shrimp with the poop still in the shrimp. Overall I was very underwhelmed.
Hotel with Style
Absolutely adore this hotel. Colorful and hip Vibe. Modern Great location Metro Hop on Hop off bus Great restaurants
