The photos are misleading as the rooms are very small and the fact that the housekeeper threw away our Social Security cards and birth certificates that we had on the desk didn’t exactly help any either. We are fortunate that our IDs were not in there otherwise we would not have been able to board our flight. So now I have to go and apply to get all that stuff back I’d rather pay more money to stay in the Manhattan area. I would stay here only if you were on a very tight budget and there is only two of you if not just the one.
Clean room and comfy beds. I would stay here again.
Good if you get a good price & don't mind trains
I was able to eventually ignore the above-ground trains rolling by the building (I was very tired!) but they are quite loud. The air conditioning unit in the room did not work properly and it was pretty stuffy until the room cooled off due to cold weather outside. However the property is extremely clean and well maintained, bed was comfortable, staff are pleasant and very helpful and friendly.
Double queen room was a good size and clean. Front desk staff was very friendly.
While the hotel itself was okay, my whole floor stunk of marijuana. This was not an isolated event, but rarher the case day and night for the entire long weekend.
Clean and conveniently located. Good value for money, would definitely stay here again.
like location. like reasonable cost. like staff, who were very helpful regarding directions and NYC transportation access and system.
Smack dab in Chinatown right on East Broadway. Loved that it was right next to Manna Bakery, one of my favorites for milk tea and pineapple buns. Rooms felt very small though in comparison to some others I have stayed at in the same area. Check-in was on the second floor and required an elevator ride, which was not super convenient. Rooms were clean. However, walls felt thin and there was a very loud disturbance late Saturday night with a crew in the hallway fighting and smoking weed. Took awhile for security to deal with it, as if no one cared. I would suggest this hotel is not a great option for families, or maybe it was just a one-off for us...
Great place for a even Better Price!!! Would definitely stay here again!!!!!
The room is clean. The View was not spectacular. It was noisy due to the train tracks coming off the bridge adjacent to our hotel but the noise did not bother me so that's cool
Great price. Lively area. Close to subway. Great staff. Good wi-fi and fantastic shower.
It was all very nice except little details like the shower isn’t very powerful and contains in the bathroom!! But other than that I loved it, I’ll definitely recommend it
Very nice, clean and comfortable hotel. I am a (many times) returning guest and never disappointed at the service and accommodations. The staff is wonderful and eager to please. So nice to be welcomed and remembered by name! Besides the heating system’s intermittent hum and moderate water pressure in shower, excellent!
Did not get my money back because my flight delay! Not even 50% ...not even $1
Stayed here on a family trip for 5 nights from 12/27 to 1/1. It was a very tiny room for 4 people in very old condition. It is not worth it time for $300 included taxed, serviced in the Chinatown area.
Subway stations close by Brooklyn bridge is walking distance as well
rontdes severs very good
Very good
Close to subway. Bed was stiff and had to have sheets changed as soon as I arrived. Room was 4 feet from check in desk, very noisy.
I’ve stayed in quite a few hotels in Manhattan and considering the price, the space in the rooms was pretty decent. Rooms were fairly comfortable as well considering the price.
Not too keen on area although subway was only 200 metres away. Hotel was basi but very clean and staff were very helpful
Noisy
This is a really noisy hotel. It’s right beside the rail line which ie elevated as it comes off the bridge. Also the noise from the adjoining rooms were disruptive.
The hotel wasn't very busy. Nothing special. We chose because of the price. Overall, good experience for the price.
GOOD VISIT BACK HOME
It was very nice clean room staff was exceptional
It was close to everything in Chinatown, Manhattan. It was clean and affordable. I will be staying here probably from now on when in New York.
Good location in Chinatown, quite close to metro stops and walking distance to Little Italy. Rooms are noisy cause of the train that runs close but if you don't mind (like we did) you have good sleep on comfortable beds.
Great spot. Affordable and clean.
Great location in China town, easy to get around great restaurants within walking distance. Very strange that the desk is on the 2nd floor. The room was clean, however it could have used a 2nd chair.
I the heart of China Town close to the financial district. Be weary that it is right next to the Manhattan bridge so you will be hearing it even over night. Overall a decent experience.
The staff is super nice. However, it was not clean as I expected. There was black dust that would come out of the air conditioner and it was disgusting, so I did not use it afterwards since I woke up with black dust all over the bed. The bathroom ceiling had mildew (something good old bleach would take care of) and the carpet was dirty. If you stay in the 2nd floor, you will hear the front desk conversations loud and clear. I was not expecting the Ritz based on location and reviews (and I could deal with the bed covers being torn as long as they were clean), but the other stuff was unacceptable. When I complained to the front desk about the air, they seemed to know, so nothing new to them, which was even more disappointing. I would not go back.
Our room was facing the subway track so it was hard to sleep at night .it was loud
NYC...Manhattan is very expensive to find lodging. With that understood, as you search for bargain lodging you find a lot of "dives" or "roach motels" . This place was neither, it was clean and very basic. But a very good basic. With great shopping and eating right at your doorstep. With a subway pass, we were easily able to hit all of NYC attractions.
Hotel in need of a renovation.
The smell (not of the hotel) but in the area is almost overwhelming. Plus the hotel is very dated. It is literally beside the transit line, so you hear it all the time. The beds were comfortable but the carpets, bathrooms, etc have not been touched in years. The staff was friendly and nice but i would absolutely never stay there again.
No frills hotel right in the heart of Chinatown. Room was a little small but clean and bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and check in was a breeze. Subway station within walking distance. Overall, a good one night stay.
Staff very good. While it is not a resort, it is clean,, and works well for being in the city....in Chinatown.
the property is way too close to the subway. If you're not used to city noise and rumbling trains this is not the hotel for you. We had the top floor, so it wasn't as bad for us. I can only imagine what the noise and vibration was like for those on the fifth floor. The staff at the front desk were really helpful and kind. Wish they had more than coffee or tea for breakfast. Rooms were clean but a little dated.
Beds roll into the middle and hard No fridge or safe Stank of mould
prime location in new york city, walking distance go a lot of places, easy transit routes
Clean hotel. Found last minute. Reasonable
It was quiet and clean. Very nice staff. I think they could have more amenities I think.
Lovely spot
Great location- we loved Chinatown and very close to subways (20 min to times square) and great restaurants in the area, LES Rooms were basic but relatively clean Polite staff Lobby had seating and free coffee and tea Right next to train so a bit loud but didn't bother us much Would definitely stay again!
Great location, short walk to subway means everything is within easy reach. Room very clean: would benefit from a chest of drawers/cupboard to put clothes in.
This is a no frills at all hotel. It is priced accordingly. Worst part is that it is RIGHT NEXT to railroad tracks - VERY LOUD.
Great location and clean comfortable hotel.
Excellent location near to trade centre, 911 museum and Brooklyn bridge. my 5th hotel in ny and would definitely stay again.
Hotel 91 US Stay
We loved our accommodation - spacious and clean with 2 king size beds, very helpful staff. The staff there went out of their way to help us - found my son's last mobile phone. We did not find the subway trains an issue - and our accommodation was very conveniently placed. On the last day - we had a night flight - they looked after our cases for us for the day. Daily cleaning - the room was very tidy
Happy Stay.
I was very happy with the room and the service. I will go back any time.
No iron, ironing board or coffee in the room. Limited parking. Noisy.
Right in the middle of Chinatown. Great bakery/coffee two doors away - and cheap meals all in close proximity. Air conditioner worked great; and my room was larger than many I've had in NYC. Short 10 minute walk to South Seaport and the discount Broadway ticket booth. Subway two blocks east. We spent next to nothing on transportation and food because Hotel 91 was so close to amenities.
Mediocre at best
The location is great. Check in process was a bit unprofessional. Check out was good. For the price I would say this is a quite steep for a mediocre hotel. I realize it's NYC yada yada yada but this is like a 2.5 star hotel no frills hotel for $170 a night that doesn't even provide condition or a bottle of water . The room had a wall shelf right next the bathroom that was too low and I banged my head on it very hard twice at night. I am 6'0 so tall but this shelf is not in a good location and needs to be raised higher as it is a safety issue.
Have a great stay !
Bad area really noisy and the personnel are must of them rude
The rooms are clean & sufficient for the price. I understand this is NYC but keep in mind that the rooms are extremely small. This hotel is in the heart of Chinatown. Parking is available at nearby garages (not affiliated with the hotel) for a price of about $30 for every 24 hours, no in-and-out access for your car. Subway stations are 2-3 blocks away.
Perfect location to train transportation throughout NYC.
Pride 2019
Great hotel and service. The hotel was clean the front desk people friendly. The area was not the best but they were friendly.
The room is good and clean but outside is a little bit noisy. The hotel is under Manhuntan bridge. We can hear the subway.
The hotel is in the heart of Chinatown, only a few meters away of the Manhattan bridge. However, we felt no noise from our room, only a small vibration that can be played out if you feel really tired! They cleaned up our room every day at 10 am and it was super neat. It is far from downtown, but as we love to walk, we actually enjoyed! There is a metro line nearby though for those that need it. We did not see the front desk personnel much since it is on the second floor, but it worked out well for both check in and out. We got the small room, one queen bed but there was plenty of room for two people. Prices are good. I definitely recommend it. It could be a bit old in terms of rugs, furniture, but it is all you need: a clean and quite place to crash after a long day in NYC!
I loved the cleanliness of Hotel 91. Probably tops even 5 star hotels. The sheets were fresh, the bathroom spotless and the tub white- even the grot was clean. The location was great! Take the F Train Uptown to Times Square and Rockefeller Centre. Or walk to Lityle Italy, Soho, the World Trade Centre. Or just have in the hotel neighbourhood of Chinatown. What it lacked was an in-room fridge and a coffe maker. Although I am fine with the instant coffee provided in the common lounge and an ice machine on the 4th floor, my travel mate wasnt happy. Overall I recommend it as a great stay for those on a budget wanting a clean hotel and grat customer service!
Everything was good, close to everything, nice neighbur
Never Again
Very dirty bathroom with so much hair and mold. Whole building shakes every 3minutes due to train track next door. Much like a hostel. Front reception will do nothing for you but just check in/out. Dirty loud neighborhood. Good for young people under 25 with tight budget and don’t mind the hotel shaking or cleanliness or the loud neighborhood with lots of people shouting and littering on the roads.
It’s is close to everything. I like that there is not a lot of
Clean and Cheap - No Frills Room
Not a typical hotel. no lobby I think was the main thing that was different for me. We picked this one because it was in Chinatown and less expensive than most of the other hotels. If you are looking for a fancy hotel, this isn't it. No dressers of any sort in the room. Very small room. No view. All that said, it was clean and cheap and in the area we wanted.
Good location and near Manhattan bridge
No internet the first 2 days :( Near Manhattan Bridge really noise.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was very clean with new towels every day. Lack of decent coffee machine was a shame. The hotel is located directly next to Manhattan bridge so it was noisy through the night at times - take ear plugs! Otherwise it was great for my stay.
We stayed for 5 days, wifi was down for three days. Chinatown is not very pleasing, smelly and dirty in fact.
We love the cleaningness of this place, the short distance to east broadway substation like 5-8 minutes ( depending if your pace ) there’s vending machines and ice which it was very helpful. We left late on a Saturday kind of like noon and we thought that they weren’t going to do the bed nor clean the bedroom. To our surprise when we came back at midnight everything was clean and the bed made. This made us feel welcome and relaxed that they had our backs. The nearby restaurants are mostly Chinese ( since is Chinatown) there’s pizza stores nearby as well. The room was close to the bridge and subway tracks we could hear them all night but we ignored it once we close the window. The room is not huge nor small I think it was a nice size. We felt safe around this hotel. Still walk with precaution since we never know what might happen. Overall I love the hotel, I came here because of the good reviews and it’s location.
Carpet in the rooms need to be clean badly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is not too bad.
Lovely staff. Hotel very clean and good area within easy walking ditance to the Metro
All very good ony thing is noise but close bathroom door cos from ventilation 😂
The location of this Hotel is excellent. Wish they could provide more amenities
The property is very basic and that’s okay for me, but I need clean. My room didn’t feel clean. The carpets and baseboards desperately needed a good deep clean or to be pulled out all together. I felt like I needed to wear shoes the entire time to walk on the floor. Bathroom was super clean so at least there was that. Room was fine size-wise but I was so close to the train it rattled the windows every time it rolled by which was a lot. This property is not for me. I’m a pretty regular traveler stayed at a place a few blocks away last week and this place needs a good deep clean. Lobby and main areas were fine but could also just use a good clean or coat of paint.
Excellent location. Close to restaurants, stores and ground transportation or subway. Great, considerate staff, especially being able to check out late night, early morning. Clean, comfortable. No dislikes.
N/A Good place, wifi internet only worked with my sons Iphone/Ipad didnt work with our Samsung Galaxy products.
Quite satisfied for the price.
No complaints. Booked due to low price, and decent reviews. Staff very helpful, hotel and room was clean. Room was small but we expected that. Bed was just a full size but was comfortable. Would stay again depending on price.
The hotel is clean and the front desk are very friendly however. I think the price should be cheaper and they should maintain the ice machine better. Also the wifi didnt work for me
Dirty, loud, cheap.
The room ac/heater was broken. The sheets had something on them, the walls were dirty, the shower head was clogged and didn't work. No parking at the hotel. Also no where to unload at the hotel. All signs said no standing or parking. Check in was on the 2nd floor kinda strange. It was across from a metro bridge so it was loud.
Not bad at all. Need a few things
Needs small fridge, and a longer shower curtain,
This hotel was exactly what we needed for our stay in NY.
Hotel 91 review
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly! They provided directions and the cab to airport was far cheaper than I was quoted on uber! At times the room was a little cold but I worked out the heater and it was snowing outside. Its not a fancy big hotel and the area is near Chinatown but its close to subway and well priced so I would definitely stay here again myself
price is good location is good but too old bathroom need more work shower head too old no tea cup and coffee pot
Really nice place to stay
We had an amazing days at Hotel 91, super friendly staff, very clean and nice. I went with my wife and 5 years old boy and completely recommend this place for families. I read some people were complaining about the noise of the train but we didn’t heard anything. The F train is close so we could go to williamsburg or uptown manhattan very fast. We’re planning to come back soon and this will be our first option.
It was clean and they offered to keep our bags after check out. The only thing is that the elevator didn't work one time and we had to take the stairs to the seventh floor
Wifi no good
We didn’t realize going in how noisy the location is. Our room was right next to an elevated subway track.
Great hotel clean and good staff
The hotel staff were kind, helpful and very informative. The beds were clean and very comfortable. Our stay could have been a little better with the addition of a kettle in the room to make tea ect.
This is a very basic hotel but it is clean, and the LOCATION is to die for. Block and a half to a subway and then fifteen minutes or less to commute to anywhere in lower Manhattan. We never waited more then 5 minutes for a train. The room was spotless when we got there and cleaned every day, and the beds were very comfortable. The carpets are very old and in need of updating but other then that we had no complaints with the state of the room/hotel. The train noise is a very real problem. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs. If you have a white noise machine you use to sleep, you won't notice the train as much. The fan in our room didn't seem to work so it was a little warm for our taste. Do yourself a favour and skip the 'free' coffee - it's instant coffee. There's a great deli called Kosser's a ten minute walk away (Starbuck's is a 12 minute walk).
It’s good. Convenient and walkable. Nice area and fast check in.
Helpfull personal. Good roomservice. Clean towels.
The room had a funny smell to it. Not a really bad smell but unpleasant still.
Under the train tracks... So its a bit noisy. Bit overall good for the price
Staff was super helpful. Loved location, as we enjoyed the yummy and reasonable little Chinese restaurants right there, plus a great bakery next door for breakfast. It is right by the bridge, but we were on the 6tb floor and the noise from the train was not bad. We read reviews, tho, and wore earplugs at nite and slept like babies. We needed 2 queen beds and that was hard to find in NYC for this price. Most places had 2 double beds at most. Place was clean, bathroom looked totally new. We really enjoyed our stay. By the way, we used uber alot andd our ride was usually at hotel within a minute.
Hotel 91 is wonderful
Hotel 91 is in the heart of Chinatown. The room was small but the price, service and area was great. Directly across the street at 90 East Broadway is the Kings Chinese restaurant which has authentic food at an extremely affordable prices.
Next to the noisy bridge
Convenient Hotel in China Town
Overall A good hotel to go back to wind down after a busy schedule. Checking in and out - Easy and quick. They keep luggage by reception too to collect later if your flight is later. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Room - Good size and bathroom was in good condition. Towels changed daily and beds done up. The cleaning staff do start early as we had knocks on the door at 9am so make sure you put the "Do not disturb" sign on the door. They came back later though when we were out. The room we had was on the top floor (7th). From the outside you'll see this is one floor higher than the building next to it on the right. This means it opens up and faces the end Manhattan Bridge - almost level with it so there is a lot of traffic noise. Fortunately for us, after a hectic day we're out like a light and it works as a good wake-up call to get out early. However, if you're a light sleeper it's probably quite distracting. There are 4 sockets for all your charging needs. I found the Wi-Fi wasn't that fast and you have to sign in every time you leave the hotel and come back. Coming from the UK, my data package on my phone network was good with great 4G signal coverage. Location - 5 mins walk from the F line subway and 10 mins from other lines via Canal St station. I found the hotel location very convenient to head up to mid-town, whilst also walking distance to the Financial district and also Brooklyn/Manhattan Bridges. In summary I would recommend this hotel.
Good Bargain Good Hotel
In Chinatown I stood here to attend an event at Madison Square Garden. Subway is walking distance gets your there and Times Sq. Good Roomand good condition. Can’t go wrong here
The location is right in china town which is great and close to everything. But it was obvious as soon as we came in the room that they had bed bugs. We took photos and videos and checked out the same hour that we checked in and booked a hotel elsewhere. The hotel staff was nice and accommodating and refunded me, but the whole experience left me feeling like i needed 5 showers. Thank god we didn’t lay on the beds or put any of our belongings there. I feel bad writing this because they were nice but i think everyone deserves to know if they might sleeping in a room with bed bugs.
The location was nice and it was clean. I was worried because I was right next to what sounded like a train. Good thing I'm a heavy sleeper
Location close to East Broadway station. Very clean, spacious and beds comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
I liked the friendliness of the staff and the convenience of leaving my luggage prior to checking in and after checking out.
Great hotel in good area! The room and bathroom was very clean & the bed was super comfortable
very far distance from what the girl in expedia told us, room or realy basic, realy noisy with the train right in front of the windows, the janitor in the morning open the door twice without knocking, and there was 2 mouse in the room, if we were less rush at the check out, cause the car was on the hazard, (no place to park or pack the luggace) i think we add try to be refund
No AC ! I felt cold!
